Chapter 164 - Resurrecting Rin

Deep underground, somewhere in the Land of Water, a futuristic biological laboratory.

Shun used Divine Eye to observe Orochimaru and Tsunade's experiment.

"Preparation complete, Dragon Life Reincarnation Technique activated."

As Orochimaru's hand seals changed, the controlled death row prisoner began to perform the Dragon Life Reincarnation Technique.

Then, the little white mouse's previously tightly closed eyes suddenly trembled slightly. Its four limbs began to convulse, it flicked its tail, and in the transparent container, it ran around vivaciously, even nibbling on some of the feed nearby.

"It succeeded!"

A hint of surprise flashed in Tsunade's eyes as she stepped forward to carefully observe the white mouse's condition.

She felt one step closer to resurrecting Nawaki.

Orochimaru stopped his hand seals, a triumphant smile playing on his lips. But just as he was about to say something, he was interrupted by Shun's voice.

"The experiment failed. It hasn't truly been resurrected in essence, it merely possesses temporary mobility."

The smile on Orochimaru's face stiffened, and his eyes held confusion. "Shun-kun, why do you say that?"

"The core of the Dragon Life Reincarnation Technique is to inject vitality into the target, heal physical injuries, and simultaneously guide the soul back to the body."

Shun walked to the operating table, his fingertip hovering above the white mouse. "But this death row prisoner only has at most three Chakra natures. He simply cannot complete the soul guidance step. The 'resurrection' you see is merely him forcibly sharing his own vitality with the white mouse, allowing the corpse to temporarily possess life force."

He watched the white mouse's movements and continued, "The white mouse's soul has not returned. Its current activity is merely based on its instincts from before death. Once the borrowed life force within it is exhausted, it will lose its life again, and its corpse will continue to decay."

Tsunade and Orochimaru exchanged glances, both seeing surprise in each other's eyes.

Orochimaru's surprise receded, and his tone became serious. "Shun-kun, do you have any good suggestions?"

Shun looked up at the cultivation pods deep within the research institute, where strange-looking White Zetsu were submerged and said, "White Zetsu are cultivated from the God Tree and Hashirama cells. They naturally possess all Chakra natures, making them the most suitable host for the technique. By having a White Zetsu simulate Ryuzetsu's Chakra fluctuations, combined with the Dragon Life Reincarnation Technique, the success rate of resurrection can reach 100%."

Orochimaru lowered his head, contemplating for a moment, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes. "This plan is feasible. Then let's try with a White Zetsu. Let's find a simple experimental subject first."

Shun held back Orochimaru, interrupting him again. "No need to look. Let's just resurrect Rin directly, it saves wasting a White Zetsu."

Orochimaru was stunned for a moment, then understood Shun's intention. "Alright, Rin's clone will come in handy."

He raised his hand and pressed the control button. The cultivation pod slowly opened, and Rin's clone was brought to the operating table. Then, Orochimaru controlled a White Zetsu to emerge from the cultivation pod.

Shun quickly formed hand seals with both hands, pressing his palms onto the operating table.

Edo Tensei!

Black runes began to spread, coiling around Rin's clone, and a large number of small white paper tags gradually covered the entire body.

The Edo Tensei Rin slowly opened her dead-black eyes, devoid of any living spirit.

"It's your turn, Orochimaru."

Orochimaru controlled the White Zetsu to begin forming hand seals. The White Zetsu gradually transformed into Ryuzetsu's appearance, then performed the Dragon Life Reincarnation Technique.

A massive amount of Chakra and vitality surged like a tide into Edo Tensei Rin's body. The cracks on the Edo Tensei body rapidly faded, her skin became increasingly elastic, the color in her cheeks grew richer, and her previously dead-black eyes returned to their original deep brown hue.

Rin slowly sat up. She looked around blankly at Tsunade, Orochimaru, and finally her gaze fell on Shun, then she looked down at her chest.

The massive wound where Kakashi had pierced her was now just smooth skin.

She frowned, her voice hoarse and questioning. "Didn't I die?"

"Rin, I resurrected you." Shun looked at her, his tone softening a bit.

Rin recognized him, and the confusion in her eyes deepened. "Shun-kun, why would you resurrect me? Although we know each other, you don't have to..."

Shun smiled. "I want you to hide your identity, and then marry Kakashi."

"Marry Kakashi?" Rin's face instantly flushed red.

She hung her head, her fingers tightly clutching the hem of her clothes.

Since her youth, she had secretly liked Kakashi, but had never dared to express her feelings.

She looked up, her eyes filled with both surprise and confusion. "Shun-kun, why would you do this?"

Shun's tone held a hint of teasing. "In a few days, it will be Kakashi's 17th birthday. I plan to give you to Kakashi as a gift. You've always had a crush on him, haven't you?"

Rin's face grew even redder. She nodded gently, agreeing.

Immediately after, she frowned, her tone filled with worry. "So I've been dead for over 5 years. Is Kakashi doing well now?"

Shun's smile faded, his tone serious. "This body of yours is a clone we made using your genes. Your physical age is 17 years and 2 months, and you have about 30 more years of life left. So you need to cherish your time and give Kakashi children soon. I don't want to see the Hatake clan's bloodline die out."

"Give Kakashi children?"

Rin's ears turned completely red, and she lowered her head in a panic, not refuting.

Her voice was as faint as a mosquito's hum. "Then, has Kakashi been single all these years?"

Shun nodded, a hint of complexity in his eyes. "Yes. After you died, he never looked for a girlfriend. He wears your headband every day, even spacing out during his free time from missions. I guess he never let you go."

Tears welled up in Rin's eyes, she felt both touched and heartbroken.

Shun's tone suddenly became serious. "But you must remember, you absolutely cannot expose that I resurrected you. To the outside world, you are just a clone with your memories, one that I cultivated by chance. Do you understand?"

Rin wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and nodded heavily. "Thank you, Shun-kun, I understand."

Looking at the light ignited in her eyes, Shun's expression was calm. "Now lie down and rest. We still need to check your body. Also, I will use genjutsu to transfer the changes of these past years into your mind, so you won't be out of touch with the current era."

"Mm..."
