The one who arrived was Emperor Thoradin.
He was clad in a full set of equipment custom-made for him by the High Elves, emanating a rich aura of death and shadow, appearing tall, mighty, and not to be trifled with.
"Kael'thas, why are you here?"
Emperor Thoradin's glowing eye sockets scanned back and forth between Kael'thas and Garona, then he suddenly understood: "I know, you're here for Garona! How do you two know each other? Could it be—"
He walked over to Kael'thas, slung an arm around his shoulder, and whispered into his ear:
"The child is yours? I never would have guessed, the straight-laced High Elf prince plays it so wild. Don't you have several beautiful girls around you, why her—"
"Garona, put down those broken daggers of yours, you can't beat me!"
"But I can annoy you to death!" Garona snorted, her gaze at Emperor Thoradin filled with ill will as she put away her daggers.
"You two fought?" Kael'thas asked curiously.
"We did, just yesterday. I was teaching Med'an swordsmanship when she suddenly emerged from the shadows and lunged at my kidney with a dagger. Who fights like that? So insidious and vicious, I wonder what scoundrel taught her!"
Emperor Thoradin was still shaken.
Garona's attacks were swift and ruthless, each move simple and direct, precisely targeting his vital points every time. In his life, he had never encountered such a difficult rogue.
In his nearly three-thousand-year long life, Garona was the strongest assassin he had ever seen, far stronger than those who tried to assassinate him when he was still a human emperor!
If it were during his lifetime, even if he was the greatest and bravest warrior in human history, he could have beaten Garona senseless in a head-on fight, but facing an assassination from this legendary assassin, there would still be no chance of survival. Rogues are not good at direct combat; sneak attacks are their forte!
However, Garona encountered him, who had lived for over two thousand seven hundred years and had become a Death Knight.
All the weaknesses he had as a human vanished with death.
The prolonged erosion of Zakajz's Arcane energy and the abundant Arcane energy supply during his resurrection by Kael'thas elevated his energy level to high-tier legendary.
In terms of energy intensity alone, he was even slightly stronger than Kael'thas!
Over two thousand years of torment and two thousand years of tenacious resistance strengthened his mental power to a degree not inferior to Sun King Anasterian Sunstrider, also surpassing Kael'thas.
Shadows concealed Garona's body, but they could not hide her killing intent, nor the energy fluctuations and spatial disturbances caused by her movement.
He sensed Garona's presence when she was still ten meters away.
He pretended not to notice, then struck decisively after Garona approached, defeating her in just ten moves, firmly controlling her, and pressing the tip of his sword against the legendary assassin's neck.
But he was still brutally stabbed in the kidney by Garona!
Kael'thas glanced at his waist: "You have kidneys?"
"—I will! I've inquired, there are ways in this world to regrow flesh on skeletons and bring the dead back to life!" Emperor Thoradin's spectral eyes glowed even brighter.
Kael'thas was speechless. This old man wanted to live another life? It wasn't impossible.
"My son is a mage, a mage!"
Garona snorted, warning: "Don't waste his time teaching him swordsmanship! He is destined to become the greatest mage in this world, not a warrior!"
Emperor Thoradin was much livelier now than before, somewhat resembling a young Marshal Lothar, with great potential for being a joker.
Like ancestor, like descendant; they were truly cut from the same mold.
"Why divide professions so strictly? Can't a mage be a warrior?"
"In this regard, you orcs and we humans should learn from the High Elves. Their Spellbreaker units are a combination of warriors and mages, and Anasterian's swordsmanship is only slightly inferior to mine."
He pouted: "Look, Kael'thas also uses a sword, not a staff. You know swordsmanship too, right, Kael'thas?"
"Uh—a little," Kael'thas said, a bit embarrassed.
He had indeed received systematic swordsmanship training, but it was only at the level of an ordinary Spellbreaker, far inferior to his father's.
Khadgar was even more embarrassed than him.
Dalaran mages had no tradition of dual-classing as warriors. Although he also carried a sword, it was essentially for show. His ability to stab Medivh through the heart with a single sword back then was purely coincidental. "Moreover, I've examined Med'an's body; a very powerful force is sealed within him, and if it goes out of control, it could probably blow even me up."
Emperor Thoradin continued, "The body is a vessel for power; the stronger the physique, the more power it can contain, and the less likely the power within him is to go out of control. You wouldn't want to come back one day and find that Med'an and we all blew up, would you?"
"Hmph, Med'an can't die. Whether you die or not, I don't care, and you're already dead anyway; you can be resurrected even if you die again!"
Perhaps because she had been beaten, Garona found Emperor Thoradin very disagreeable, and the usually taciturn woman retorted as soon as they met.
"But there's some truth to what you say."
Although she was sharp-tongued, she had actually come to accept Emperor Thoradin and began to consider whether to simply let Med'an apprentice under Emperor Thoradin, thus gaining another powerful backer.
Just as Khadgar said, she did have a strong admiration for power; whoever could defeat her, she would be somewhat compliant with.
"Speaking of which, who exactly is Med'an's father? Kael'thas, don't bother denying it, I know it's not you."
Emperor Thoradin stroked his chin: "The power within Med'an is no less than yours, and it's pure Arcane energy. Garona isn't a mage and can't provide it, so it can only be sealed by his father. You don't have that ability."
"..." Kael'thas scrutinized him, secretly assessing their relative strengths. Beating this guy up shouldn't be too difficult.
Then, lock him in a small dark room and don't let him out!
"Uh—" Khadgar glanced at Garona, unsure whether to speak.
"It's Medivh," Garona stated frankly.
She had wanted to keep this secret, but Kael'thas and Khadgar had already found out.
In this world, any secret, once a second person knows it, is no longer a secret, especially since these two don't seem like the type to keep secrets.
"What, it's him?"
A surprised voice rang out, but it wasn't Emperor Thoradin.
A hunched human undead mage floated over from a distance, emanating an aura no less powerful than Emperor Thoradin's, clearly also of legendary tier.
As he floated, he muttered to himself: "I should have realized it sooner. To be able to seal such powerful Arcane energy within an infant, it must be a demigod-level mage. In this world, besides Medivh, no male mage can do it!"
"Allow me to introduce you. This is Kael'thas, Prince of the High Elves. This is Khadgar, Medivh's only apprentice. And this is Medivh," Emperor Thoradin introduced.
Kael'thas quickly bowed, "I know of you, Master Medivh. You were one of the first 100 human mages, and among the most talented. After your death in battle, you were resurrected as an undead to continue fighting for humanity, but disappeared after the war, having accomplished your mission."
Medivh was expressionless, "Let's not dwell on the past."
Kael'thas suddenly understood, "Lothar mentioned that Uncle Thoradin disliked the world of the living and was invited by an old friend to reside in Duskwood. So it was you."
Medivh managed a rare smile, "It's been over two thousand years. I've been living in seclusion alone. My old friends have gradually faded, and I've become increasingly lonely. When I finally heard an old friend was still alive, of course I had to see him."
Garona looked in the direction he had come from, full of worry, "Where's Med'an? You left him alone at home; that's too dangerous!"
"It's not dangerous. I've set up a defensive magic circle at home; nothing below legendary can enter."
Medivh waved his hand and asked, "Are you still not coming home this time? Med'an is three years old. He often asks me who his parents are, and I don't know how to answer." Garona's expression darkened, "No, approaching him would only bring him danger."
Kael'thas chuckled, "Danger? What danger could there be? Once we reach Karazhan, find Lady Aegwynn, resolve Gul'dan's magical residue, and completely eliminate the Shadow Council, there will be no more danger."
Medivh said in surprise, "You're going to find Aegwynn? She's not in Karazhan—but you're right to go to Karazhan. She built it with her own hands, and her magical residue is there. As soon as you arrive at Karazhan, she will definitely sense it."
Emperor Thoradin, however, was intrigued, "Karazhan? That tall tower in Deadwind Pass? I heard the environment of Duskwood was caused by it. Is it fun there? Take me with you!"
What he loved most was traveling around.
After being resurrected, he had stayed in Stormwind City, then spent a month or so in Raven Hill. Now that he had seen his old friend, it was time to travel the world.
Kael'thas said, "It's the strongest mortal mage's mage tower, filled with endless secrets and all sorts of monsters. Of course it's fun. Remember the artifact I mentioned? It's in Karazhan."
"An artifact even more suitable for me than Bisdomka? Excellent!"
Emperor Thoradin glanced at Garona.
It was just that he didn't have a suitable artifact; otherwise, why would it take ten moves to defeat Garona? One move would be enough!
Kael'thas looked at Garona, "Gul'dan's spell wasn't just cast on you, but also on your weapons, right? Bring them; otherwise, his spell cannot be truly broken."
Garona nodded, "I was worried the Shadow Council would control me through them, so I asked Master Medivh to hide them."
Medivh reached out, and two metal daggers with dark red blood grooves appeared from the void, flying before Garona.
kingslayer!
Sorrow and Suffering!
Garona grabbed the daggers, Sorrow in her left hand and Suffering in her right. Person and dagger became one, two similar powers merging, and her demeanor changed accordingly.
Before, she was just an ordinary legendary rogue.
Now, she became incredibly dangerous. This was the kingslayer who had assassinated many high-ranking Horde and Alliance officials, striking fear into all who heard her name!
She stared at Emperor Thoradin, brimming with fighting spirit.
What kind of skill is it to bully me when I don't have suitable weapons?
Next time, I might not lose to you!
"So these are the assassination artifacts crafted with materials provided by Kil'jaeden? They are indeed powerful; even I wouldn't want to touch their edge," Kael'thas nodded.
Garona, wielding kingslayer, was undoubtedly the most dangerous woman in this world.
Many women were much stronger than her, but absolutely not as dangerous. She was Azeroth's most terrifying assassin.
"Where's Med'an? Bring him along. He's Lady Aegwynn's grandson; he can prove your identity, and Lady Aegwynn won't abandon her grandson's mother," Kael'thas said.
Emperor Thoradin gave a thumbs up, "Emotional blackmail? Brilliant!"
Khadgar shook his head. These two old guys were worse than each other.
Garona shook her head, "Karazhan is too dangerous."
Kael'thas said, "Karazhan isn't the Shadowlands or the Burning Legion's base camp; what danger could there be? With us, Med'an's safety will be guaranteed. Besides, don't you want Aegwynn to meet Med'an? She is the Guardian of Tirisfal, the former master of the Guardian's power. She is Med'an's best teacher."
Garona was still hesitant.
She didn't trust Kael'thas and Emperor Thoradin much; neither of them were good people.
And they were both extremely cunning; she wouldn't even know if they sold her and her son one day.
Medivh said, "I'll go too. Aegwynn is an old friend of mine; it's been a long time since we last met."
Only then did Garona reluctantly nod.
Ten minutes later, everyone met Med'an and revealed his true parentage.
The three-year-old boy didn't have so many worries and finally met his mother.
"Mother, where is father? Is he dead?" Med'an asked, looking up.
Garona, not wanting to lie to a child, was about to nod, when Kael'thas said with a smile, "No, he's the most powerful mage in this world; how could he die? He just went to a very distant place and will be back soon."
Med'an spent all his time with Medivh, a dead man, and had little contact with the outside world. He was innocent and simple-minded, and he believed it.
The others just took Kael'thas's words as comforting the child and didn't expose him.
Khadgar immediately cast a mass teleportation spell, sending everyone to the entrance of Karazhan.
The towering mage tower had long been abandoned, ravaged by the complex energies released upon Medivh's death, looking dilapidated.
The terrifying energy once contained within this demigod's tower had mostly dissipated into Deadwind Pass and the surrounding areas, but what remained was still at a demigod level, still guarding the place, forbidding entry to the living.
Karazhan did not exist in isolation; there were scattered buildings around it.
There were farms, wine cellars, an underground crypt where Medivh and many bodies were buried, and undead resurrected by death energy, visible everywhere.
"Karazhan is protected by countless spells; you can't get in without a key. I'll open the door."
Khadgar took out the key, about to open the door, but Kael'thas stopped him.
He pulled Khadgar back a few steps, retreating to Medivh and Med'an's side, and looked towards the distant west, respectfully performing a mage's salute:
"Kael'thas Sunstrider, I greet the esteemed Guardian of Tirisfal, Lady Aegwynn."
He adopted a very humble posture.
In World of Warcraft, strength commands respect. She was once a top demigod, while he was just an ordinary Legendary Mage. At least a hundred Medivhs could fit between them; the gap was too immense.
Not to mention him, even if the Sun King himself came, he would have to show Lady Aegwynn sufficient respect. That's just how realistic this world was.
At the same time, the Legendary Undead Mage Medivh also sensed something, looking towards Kalimdor and softly saying, "Aegwynn, long time no see."
Emperor Thoradin, Garona, and Khadgar sensed nothing.
The first two were not Mages, and Khadgar's energy level and magical attainments were insufficient, so he couldn't detect the magical gaze from thousands of miles away.
Instead, the three-year-old Med'an looked into the distance, feeling an innate sense of closeness, a pure smile on his face as he waved vigorously. "Master Medivh, long time no see."
A soft yet weary voice echoed from the void, and Aegwynn's figure appeared out of thin air before everyone, without causing any energy fluctuations. Her mastery of magic was exquisite to the extreme.
She nodded towards Medivh, her gaze sweeping over Kael'thas and the others, then glancing at Khadgar, finally resting on Med'an. She asked, puzzled, "Who is he?"
She sensed a familiar aura; this child actually had a portion of the Guardian of Tirisfal's power sealed within him, reaching the High-tier Legendary level.
Could it be—she had a guess in her heart.
"He is—" Kael'thas explained the whole story.
"Is he truly Medivh's child? Kael'thas, your guess is correct. Med'an is Medivh's contingency, his responsibility as the Guardian of Tirisfal, and his final gift to this world."
No one knows a son better than his mother. Aegwynn's gaze towards Garona was filled with apology.
Garona's face was expressionless, whether she was calm as still water or heartbroken was unclear.
"Gul'dan's mind control spell? It's quite intricate, but not difficult to break."
She examined Garona, breaking the spell in a few minutes, then said, "However, I don't have any spare mana right now, so I can't break it."
Years ago, after learning that Medivh had opened the Dark Portal, she rushed over and fought with Medivh, who was already controlled by Sargeras at the time.
At that time, she had already passed all of the Guardian of Tirisfal's power to Medivh, retaining only her own mana, so she couldn't defeat Medivh.
Instead, Medivh drained most of her mana, leaving her only a tiny bit to maintain her youth and immortality.
For several years, she had been immersed in sorrow and self-reproach, drifting through each day in a daze, never thinking of accumulating mana again, only passively absorbing some from her surroundings.
The mana she could use now was even less than the weakest Archmage; she had the will but not the power.
Kael'thas suggested, "That's simple. How about you teach me the method, and I'll break it? If you feel the spell shouldn't be passed to outsiders, I'll take you as my master right now!"
Khadgar was stunned. Your Highness, how did you get such a thick skin?
"Too shameless—" he muttered softly.
Garona also nodded along. High Elves are shameless, princes are shameless, and High Elf princes are even more shameless!
Medivh was also dumbfounded. They say the older you get, the more shameless you become, but you're only a few hundred years old, yet you're more shameless than an old man like me who's thousands of years old?
Anasterian is much more dignified than you!
Emperor Thoradin was speechless, laughing and scolding, "If you want to take her as your master, just say so. Why make excuses? It's as if you're getting the short end of the stick!"
He looked at Aegwynn, "But seriously, how can the greatest Mage in history not have a disciple? Is the Guardian of Tirisfal's legacy going to be broken? I think Kael'thas is quite suitable."
Khadgar silently pointed to himself. Am I not a successor to the Guardian?
Well, he was actually only an apprentice for a few months, and Medivh hadn't taught him a single spell. He had learned everything by exploring the library himself, so he was a master in name only.
"Teacher, this is a gift for taking you as my master."
Before Aegwynn could respond, Kael'thas took out medivh's tome, handed it over with both hands, and said, "After I obtained this book, I used a divination spell to examine it and sensed that it was connected to an entity in the Twisting Nether. I suspect—Medivh is still alive!"
Aegwynn had intended to refuse.
She was disheartened now; she had never thought of taking disciples before, and she certainly didn't want to now.
But upon hearing Kael'thas's words, her stagnant heart was stirred by a tempest. She quickly snatched medivh's tome and began to cast a spell.
A few minutes later, a look of joy appeared on her face: "His soul is in the Twisting Nether!"
At these words, the light returned to Garona's dead eyes.
Khadgar then remembered something else and said, "After we killed our master back then, I once spoke with his phantom. He seemed to be from—the future?"
Aegwynn nodded heavily: "Karazhan is a nexus of time and space, and the spacetime here is very complex. Communicating with the future is normal. After he resurrected, he returned to Karazhan and met your past self!"
"That's right, I need to accumulate mana to resurrect him, to pull him back from the Twisting Nether!"
Kael'thas quickly said, "Sandar Hill and the Sunwell are both ley line nodes. Teacher can go there to restore her mana, which will be much faster than anywhere else."
Knowing that Medivh was still alive, Aegwynn relaxed considerably, a smile appearing on her face: "You've called me Teacher so many times, and told me such important information. It seems inappropriate not to accept you. From now on, you will be my only disciple."
Kael'thas breathed a sigh of relief.
Mages and Warlocks are different.
Warlocks only need to embrace fel energy to grow stronger, while Mages need to study hard. Knowledge is power.
For Mages, the most important thing is a teacher.
The stronger the teacher, the more knowledge one can learn.
He had already touched the threshold of High-tier Legendary. There were few who qualified to be his teacher, and Aegwynn was the most outstanding among them.
The ultimate goal of these things he had done was to impress Aegwynn and become her disciple.
And now, he had finally succeeded—ah, no, his wish had been granted!
"Gul'dan's spell is somewhat complex for a Legendary Mage, it's perfect for testing your comprehension and magical attainments," Aegwynn said.
Upon hearing that she was going to teach magic, Thoradin immediately lost interest and quickly asked, "Kael'thas, where is that artifact you mentioned?"
"It's in the crypt over there, where Medivh is buried," Kael'thas said, pointing in a certain direction.
"Good, I'll go get it!"
Thoradin turned to leave, but Kael'thas called out to him again: "You by yourself? Forget it, the crypt is now the Dark Knight's stronghold, they are numerous and powerful, and their leader is also of Legendary rank, not much weaker than you, and they have two artifacts. You—it might be a bit dangerous."
"Two?" Thoradin asked.
"Two."
Kael'thas said, "One is a two-handed greatsword called 'Apocalypse', forged by a Dreadlord of the Burning Legion. The Dreadlord race is very skilled at forging weapons, having created many artifacts—"
Before he could finish, Medivh interrupted, "Apocalypse? The demon sword Apocalypse of Dreadlord Kazzak?"
He knew that sword too well!
Soon after Dalaran was founded, a large number of Daemons were attracted by the energy fluctuations generated by spells. The leader was Dreadlord Kazzak.
What Dreadlords were best at was not direct combat, but schemes and calculations.
Kazzak hid in Dalaran, using the widespread hostility towards mages at the time to incite fear, and polluted the food and water, eventually causing a plague.
If it hadn't been for the half-High Elf mage, Alodi, the first Guardian of Tirisfal, who emerged and banished Kazzak, Dalaran would have been destroyed over two thousand years ago.
It was the appearance of Kazzak and the demon sword Apocalypse that prompted humans and High Elves to form the Council of Tirisfal, which led to the subsequent generations of Guardians.
That demon sword had reappeared?
Kael'thas nodded, "That's right, it's that one. It has been passed down among the Dreadlords, with each successive owner modifying and perfecting it, imbuing it with new plagues and curses, making it stronger and stronger. Its last Dreadlord owner was Kazzak."
Aegwynn evidently also knew this history and continued, "After Kazzak was expelled, Apocalypse was sealed by the Council of Tirisfal. Later, to deal with me, it was unsealed again and given to a mage named Leysara."
Medivh had long since left the Council of Tirisfal and was not aware of these matters. He frowned, "Foolish! A demon sword like Apocalypse should be permanently sealed, not used against one's own people!"
Khadgar said, "It's futile, no one can resist you, not even with an artifact."
Aegwynn shook her head, "No, Leysara was an exception. He was highly talented and very capable, the most remarkable human mage of the generation before Eran and Antonidas. He was Legendary at a young age."
Kael'thas nodded, "That's right, in terms of talent alone, he was even higher than Antonidas, and his magical attainments were the same."
The most powerful human mages were never in Dalaran, but in the Council of Tirisfal.
Successive Guardians of Tirisfal were the most powerful individuals in the human world, representing the peak combat power of mortals.
Aegwynn held the position of Guardian for eight hundred years.
To deal with her, the Council of Tirisfal established an affiliated organization called the "Tirisfal Arcanum," selecting the most talented mages for training, specifically to learn spells targeting Aegwynn, and allowing them to use the most powerful artifacts.
So even if those people were of average strength, only at the Legendary level, they could still cause Aegwynn a lot of trouble.
The most famous among them were Leysara, and Aegwynn's husband, Medivh's father, Nielas Aran.
Aegwynn said, "After acquiring Apocalypse, he used it to slaughter village after village, absorbing the souls and power of thousands of people. Coupled with spells specifically targeting me, even I found it difficult to defeat him head-on for a time, and had to cast a spell to sever his connection with Apocalypse."
Kael'thas laughed, "When did mages ever favor head-on combat? Using various means to restrain the opponent is inherently part of one's strength."
Khadgar asked, "Did you kill him?"
Aegwynn shook her head again, "I dislike the Council of Tirisfal very much because the Council had long since changed its original tenets and began to interfere in secular politics, but I had no opinion of those tool-like mages."
"Leysara was not bad at heart, he was just controlled by Apocalypse, becoming its slave. Why should I kill him? Later, he went to Stormwind City and spent his life doing good deeds, atoning for his past mistakes."
Khadgar asked, "What about Apocalypse? Did you leave it in Karazhan?"
Aegwynn was puzzled, "The power of Apocalypse is too strong, few people can resist its corruption, so I sealed it in the Blasted Lands thousands of miles away. How could it return to Karazhan?"
"You'll have to ask your precious son about that."
Kael'thas said, "He was influenced by the soul of Sargeras, enslaving Leysara's son and others, giving them dark power, turning them into Dark Knights, and sending them all over the world to search for artifacts."
Aegwynn suddenly understood, "Leysara's son? That's right, Leysara was the previous owner of Apocalypse, and there's a mysterious connection between his son and Apocalypse. My seal couldn't hide from his perception."
The main reason was that she didn't care much about that demon sword; she just used a spell to seal and banish it, unlike how she valued Sargeras's avatar as body armor. Otherwise, the bloodline connection could have been severed.
Kael'thas looked at Emperor Thoradin, "You've heard the origin and power of Apocalypse. Are you sure you want it? Be careful not to be corrupted by it."
"Corrupted? It's just a weapon. Can it compare to Zakajz?"
Thoradin confidently said, "Zakajz couldn't corrupt me, and neither can it! What about the other artifact?"
Kael'thas said, "The other is a scythe called Uthales, forged by the Dark Titan Sargeras with the flames from the destruction of the demon prison world of Mardum. It is also one of the very few artifacts created by a Titan."
Khadgar exclaimed in surprise, "A Titan artifact?"
There were many weapons and equipment in this world called "Titan artifacts," but most of them were created by the Titan Keepers, such as Silver Hand and titanstrike.
There were very few truly created by the Titans themselves.
Weapons personally crafted by the Titans would certainly be much stronger than Silver Hand and titanstrike!
Kael'thas said, "Sargeras bestowed Uthales upon one Dreadlord, Doom Lord, and Pit Lord after another, including many demigods, but the souls of these Daemons were all devoured by the artifact. It is even more dangerous than Apocalypse."
Medivh's eyes flickered, "Even demigods were backfired? It is indeed dangerous."
Kazzak was only at the High Legendary level!
Dreadlords were a race, and there were differences between them.
The weakest Dreadlords were merely ordinary Legendary, such as Balnazzar, Detheroc, and Varimathras.
Stronger ones were High Legendary, such as Mal'Ganis, Mephistroth, and Kazzak.
There was only one demigod-level, and that was the leader of the Dreadlords, Tichondrius.
According to Kael'thas, probably no one in the entire Dreadlord race was worthy of wielding Uthales!
"I've heard of this," Aegwynn said.
"Its last owner was an Eredar necromancer named 'Sataiel'."
"He used Uthales to harvest tens of thousands of lives in the entire Deadwind Pass, including many Jungle Trolls, and also absorbed the power of the earth itself. Therefore, that artifact is also known as the Windreaper."
Khadgar asked, "An Eredar? Is he a Demigod?"
He had some understanding of the Burning Legion and knew that the Eredar were the true upper echelons of the Burning Legion.
Regardless of whether it was Dreadlords, Pit Lords, Doomguards, or other races, there were only a handful of Demigods.
But among the Eredar race, there were at least dozens of Demigods!
Aegwynn said, "Sataiel was a top-tier Demigod, but he still underestimated this world. He was targeted by my teacher, the Guardian of Tirisfal of that generation."
Khadgar excitedly said, "Master Scavell? I heard he was the only Guardian, besides you, who served for over a hundred years, and also the second—uh, the third strongest besides you."
The term of office for a Guardian of Tirisfal was one hundred years, and they had to step down when it expired.
Master Scavell was forced to continue working because he couldn't find a qualified successor at the time, until he found Aegwynn.
There had always been rumors in Dalaran:
Lady Aegwynn's monopolization of the Guardian position was influenced by Master Scavell!
Aegwynn said, "The Guardian of Tirisfal passed down from generation to generation, and because the power itself was also inherited, each generation was stronger than the last. Master Scavell's power at the time had reached the High-tier Demigod level, yet Sataiel was no weaker than him, and perhaps even stronger."
Khadgar asked, "But he still won?"
Aegwynn said, "He mentioned to me that he accidentally saw a mysterious vision and only then learned of Sataiel's existence, and also knew Sataiel's weakness. He eventually killed him with ursoc. I suspect—"
"You suspect the owner of that vision was Sargeras? He was using a borrowed knife to kill?" Kael'thas interjected.
Aegwynn said, "Yes, at that time, Sataiel betrayed Sargeras and used ursoc to sever the connection between the Burning Legion and Azeroth. He wanted to exclusively occupy Azeroth, and even harvest Azeroth itself, to replace it."
Not many dared to betray Sargeras, and Sataiel was one of them.
After Scavell eliminated Sataiel, he sealed ursoc in a place no one knew.
As for why it appeared in Karazhan? Obviously, it was the handiwork of her precious son again.
The more Thoradin listened, the more surprised he became: "That scythe is that powerful? Alright, I admit I might not be right."
He couldn't defeat a true Demigod.
Medivh suddenly said, "I'll go with you."
Kael'thas asked, "Are you interested in ursoc?"
Medivh nodded: "After the battle with Kazzan'athir, I have been studying Daemons and Fel energy. Perhaps I can try to control ursoc. The Burning Legion will definitely come again. If we can control ursoc, we will have an extra ounce of resistance."
Kael'thas smiled and said, "With two High-tier Legendary working together, the Dark Knights are truly unlucky."
With these two working together, even a Demigod would have a fighting chance.
"Haha, here I come, artifact!"
Emperor Thoradin laughed heartily and strode towards the crypt.
Medivh quickly followed.
"Although Gul'dan is a Demigod Warlock, the complexity of Warlock spells is far less than that of a Mage. This spell is essentially still at the Legendary level—"
Aegwynn, as expected of the strongest Mage, had a thorough understanding of all spell systems, even venturing into other fields. She also had extensive research on Daemons and Warlocks, explaining Gul'dan's spell in a simple yet profound way, making it clear in no time.
Not only Kael'thas quickly understood, but even Khadgar understood; it was indeed not complicated.
However, this was with the guidance of a renowned teacher; they only needed to learn.
If they had to decipher it themselves, it would take at least two or three years.
"How about—I do it?" Khadgar volunteered.
Kael'thas said, "Let's divide the work. You break the spell, and I will seal it in kingslayer and apply a one-way perception enchantment."
Khadgar was puzzled: "Why?"
"As long as the Shadow Council is not eliminated, it will always be a hidden danger."
Kael'thas said, "With the seal and enchantment, the Shadow Council will no longer be able to perceive or control Garona, but she will be able to perceive the existence of the Shadow Council Warlocks, making it convenient for hunting."
Garona clenched her dagger: "Killing all members of the Shadow Council will make Med'an safe!"
Kael'thas and Aegwynn exchanged glances.
He had said that before, but it was just to comfort Garona.
Garona was a Draenei and Orc half-blood, while Medivh had two souls within him: Human and Dark Titan Sargeras. Souls could also affect Medivh's body.
Med'an was actually a quarter-blood of Draenei, Orc, Human, and Titan.
An entity of Sargeras's level could clearly perceive any bloodline connection; he must have already known of Med'an's existence.
As long as Sargeras was alive, Medivh would always be watched by the Burning Legion and would never be out of danger.
As for whether Sargeras would act against his bloodline descendants, only he himself knew.
Med'an was the early designated Savior of Azeroth, later abandoned, but his existence did not change.
It could be said that Med'an was the most talented mortal in this world, after all, he had Titan blood.
Working together, everything went smoothly.
Garona felt a lightness throughout her body, completely free from control, and even her personal strength increased slightly, mainly due to Kael'thas's Legendary enchantment.
At this moment, Emperor Thoradin and Medivh walked over, each holding an artifact.
Garona had originally wanted to fight Emperor Thoradin again to reclaim her dignity, but upon sensing the opponent's aura, which was far stronger than before, she immediately decided to postpone it.
"Kael'thas, you were right, this artifact really suits me!"
Emperor Thoradin wielded the Apocalypse demon sword: "It contains the power of shadow and fire, as well as the power of death, and it can also grow stronger by absorbing blood, feeding back to its master. One day I will become a Demigod!"
Kael'thas nodded.
He could feel that Emperor Thoradin's mind was normal and he could suppress this demon sword without being corrupted.
As for Medivh—
He frowned slightly, feeling that this one's mental fluctuations were immense, clearly struggling to contend with ursoc. Currently, neither could overpower the other.
However, according to the current trend, he would eventually be controlled by ursoc.
For a High-tier Legendary Mage, a weapon personally crafted by Sargeras was still a bit too much.
"Do you need help? I can invite all Legendary Mages and Archmages of the High Elves and humans to work together to seal a portion of its power," Kael'thas said.
At least a High-tier Demigod was needed to seal ursoc.
Either ask Malygos for help, or only rely on quantity to compensate for quality.
Medivh shook his head: "Only by approaching the abyss can one understand the abyss. I will continue to contend with it. This will increase my understanding of shadow and Fel energy, and also temper my mental will."
Of course, there was certainly a risk of losing control, but he thought it was worth a try.
Kael'thas suggested, "How about this: Garona is going to hunt the Shadow Council all over the world, isn't she? Master Medivh and Uncle Thoradin, why don't you go together? You can always help him share the pressure and contend with ursoc."
