Adrian sat in the NYPD conference room, flanked by senior officers. At the center of the table sat a live transmitter crackling with activity.
"Team 2, are you ready?" The chief of police asked into the mic.
"Ready, Chief. We're moving in now, over.
Everyone waited in silence as the arrest was carried out. The team entered the luxury hotel where the deal was set to take place. Shouts, commands, and a few gunshots echoed through the feed as the men in the lounge were apprehended. Moments later, everything was calm again.
"Chief," the voice finally returned. "We secured the lounge. Everything is under control."
Adrian exhaled, finally. It was all over.
Then came the next message.
"Except that Anthony and Andrew Stone are not here. We checked everywhere, but they somehow got away."
"How is that possible?" The Chief asked sharply.
