Chapter 13 - The Twist, The Storm, and The Comeback

Abhiram entered November with one truth burning inside him: he had already fallen enough. Now, even if the world pushed him again, he would stand.

He still remembered the emptiness of CA Test-1 — the zero, the silence, the way his internal marks felt like they were slipping away from his hands. But life, in its strange way, decided to show him something unexpected.

This time… he passed CA Test-2.

It wasn't a miracle. It wasn't luck.

It was the first proof that his efforts were not wasted.

But the twist came immediately, like rain falling right after sunshine.

He failed in Physics, and he failed in Biotechnology too — not because he didn't try, but because he had been absent. The system didn't care about reasons. It only cared about results.

So the scorecard looked confusing: A pass that gave him hope… and failures that reminded him life was still heavy.

Still, Abhiram didn't collapse. Because by then, he had started learning something deeper than academics: survival.

Soon, the semester practical exams arrived.

And for the first time in a long time, Abhiram felt something rare:

"I can manage this."

He wrote the practical exam with ease. No panic. No shaking hands. No mental breakdown.

Just calm.

It wasn't the kind of victory that makes noise, but it was the kind that makes a person breathe again.

After practicals, the model exams began.

And Abhiram understood something clearly:

This was not just another exam. This was a chance to recover internal marks. A chance to repair what CA tests had damaged.

But once again, life didn't give him a smooth road.

At the end of November, rain poured like the sky itself was breaking.

Holidays were declared.

And because of the weather, practical exams were postponed.

To many students, it was a break.

To Abhiram, it was an opportunity.

He used that time like a man who had nothing else left to lose.

He studied.

He revised.

He practiced.

And when the postponed practical exams were finally conducted, he cleared them.

Then the real twist came again:

Model exams returned immediately.

Now, the pressure was high.

But Abhiram had already been trained by suffering.

This time, he didn't run.

He studied hard.

He stayed focused.

He fought like the semester exam was his last breath.

And the result?

He got a good response in the model exams.

Not perfect. Not top. But good enough to tell him: "You're improving."

Before semester exams started, Abhiram reactivated his Instagram account. Not for reels. Not for celebrities. Not for validation.

He did it for one simple reason: contact.

His classmates — especially his female mates — were there: Pooja, Niharika, Poonam, Meena, Oliviya.

He chatted with them like he rarely did. Small talks. Simple messages. Nothing dramatic.

But Abhiram noticed something painful again: Some people stayed distant.

Meena and Oliviya were his busmates, yet they didn't respond much. Poonam was mostly just a name in the follower list.

It reminded him of an old truth: In life, many people exist around you… but very few actually stand with you.

Still, he didn't take it personally. He had bigger battles.

Semester exams arrived. And Abhiram studied harder than he ever had.

This time, the fear was different. Not the fear of failing. But the fear of losing everything after trying so hard.

Yet, deep inside, he carried hope: "I've studied more than before. I can clear this."

He wrote every exam with seriousness. No distractions. No overconfidence. No careless attitude.

And when the final exam ended… something inside him finally loosened.

On the last day of exams, Abhiram didn't go home immediately.

He went alone.

He spent time at VR Chennai, then Nexus Vijaya Mall, then took a metro ride.

He watched people. He walked slowly. He ate alone. He breathed deeply.

It wasn't loneliness.

It was freedom.

For him, it became an unforgettable day —

a silent celebration after surviving months of struggle.

After exams, his school friend Chozhan returned — now working.

He didn't just come as a friend.

He came like a sign from life:

"Your future is coming."

Within two days, because of Chozhan, Abhiram earned ₹1000.

It wasn't about the amount.

It was about the feeling.

For the first time, Abhiram felt the taste of earning. A small beginning. A new kind of confidence.

Then came New Year.

Abhiram celebrated it with his best friend Jeevanandham. They spent time in City Centre and Spencer Plaza.

For once, he didn't feel like a burden.

He didn't feel like a failure.

He felt like a normal young man living his life.

The next day, he went to:

• Friday Market

• Airport and more places

Just roaming. Just living.

Soon, second semester began.

And new subjects entered like fresh waves:

• Bioorganic Chemistry

• BEEE

• Engineering Drawing

Once again, the journey restarted. New syllabus. New struggles. New challenges.

And then Pongal holidays arrived.

During that leave, Abhiram did something symbolic. He went alone again — this time to OMR and ECR.

A solo ride. A solo trip. A solo peace.

He enjoyed it, not because life became perfect, but because he learned to enjoy even when he had nobody beside him.

As second semester continued, Abhiram slowly returned to content creation.

This time, it wasn't addiction. It wasn't distraction. It was creativity.

He posted on Instagram. He gained views.

He gained likes. Even celebrities viewed his stories again.

But this time, it didn't control him. It made him happy.

For the first time, he felt like:

life is finally moving forward.

And then, a new thought entered his mind.

Internship.

He realized: Marks alone won't build his future. Skills will. Experience will. Projects will.

So he decided: He will enter internship. He will develop his skills. He will build a career beyond his degree.

Because there were no longer a mission just for exams. It was now a mission for life.

And the next chapter… was going to be about growth, skills, and the future he was preparing for.
