Different commands, but they meant the same thing. Hearing the word "party," the crew of the Roger Pirates showed no signs of slackening. Instead, their eyes lit up, they grabbed their weapons, and an astonishing fighting spirit erupted from them. To them, a battle with the strong was the most magnificent kind of party.
On the Azure Dragon, Gatz was the first to roar in excitement. "OOOH! Finally, time to stretch my legs!" He shouldered his giant anchor and leaped directly from the Azure Dragon, crashing toward Roger's pirate ship like a meteor. "Wahahaha! You with the axes! You look pretty tough! Be my opponent!"
On Roger's ship, a similarly tall man wielding two axes laughed and met his charge. It was the future legendary shipwright, one of Tom's disciples, and Roger's right-hand man, Scopper Gaban. The two power-type behemoths collided in mid-air with a dull, heavy boom.
Seeing a fight, Charlotte Linlin's spirits also rose. She licked her lips and urged Prometheus and Zeus forward, charging toward Roger's ship like a natural disaster descending on the mortal world. "Wahahaha! Your ship looks delicious!"
Silver's figure once again merged with the shadows. Like a grim reaper roaming the edge of the battlefield, he searched for the perfect moment to strike. His target was the blond man with the glasses. He could feel a restrained yet deadly threat from that man, in no way inferior to his own.
A large-scale brawl of unprecedented scale completely erupted in this foggy sea. And at the center of this brawl were, naturally, the two captains.
Neither Rocks nor Roger was in a hurry to make a move. They just faced each other from across dozens of meters of sea, their two equally domineering wills clashing violently in the air. CRACKLE! CRACKLE! Black and red lightning flashed continuously between them—a top-tier clash of Conqueror's Haki. The surrounding thick fog was completely torn apart, and the sea became choppy without any wind, as if even the heavens and the earth were trembling for the duel between these two kings.
"Your Haki is not bad," Roger's smile was still hearty, but his gaze had become incredibly sharp.
"Same to you," a cruel arc appeared on the corner of Rocks's lips. "But soon, it will submit to me."
Before his words had even faded, Rocks's figure vanished. The gravitational field under his feet erupted, and his entire body shot forward like a black cannonball, tearing through the air to punch Roger in the face. "Black Hole!"
Faced with this punch that could swallow light itself, Roger didn't dodge. He just laughed loudly. "Bring it on!" He drew the sword from his waist. It was a seemingly ordinary rapier, yet it was wreathed in a supreme sharpness. He used no fancy moves, just simply and purely wrapped his extremely condensed Armament and Conqueror's Haki around the blade and slashed forward. "Divine Departure!"
The fist and the sword collided in mid-air with a deafening roar. In that instant, it was as if all the sound in the world had been sucked away. What followed was an indescribable explosion! A visible, circular shockwave spread out madly from the two of them, pushing down the sea surface into a huge depression over a kilometer in diameter. The two massive pirate ships were pushed back several hundred meters by this terrifying aftershock, and the brawls on board had to be temporarily halted.
Dolum clung to the helm, his face drained of all color as he watched the ship groan again from the impact. He let out a desperate wail. "Again! It's happening again! My Azure Dragon! It was just repaired!"
And on the other ship, the blond man with the glasses—the future "Dark King" Silvers Rayleigh—stood steadily at the bow. He used his own body and sword aura to block most of the shockwave, protecting the crew behind him, but an unprecedentedly grave expression also appeared on his face. He looked at the two demon-god-like figures in the distance and muttered to himself, "The Will of D... clashing once again? This era is really going to be completely overturned by these monsters."
The smoke cleared. The figures of Rocks and Roger appeared simultaneously in mid-air. They were evenly matched. A faint white mark was left on Rocks's fist, and the blade of Roger's sword was also trembling slightly.
"Wahahaha! Awesome! That was so awesome!" Roger's laugh was filled with exhilarating joy. "You bastard, you're much harder to deal with than a Marine Admiral!"
"Same to you," Rocks said, shaking his hand, his eyes growing even more excited. "But the warm-up is over!"
The two once again became blurred afterimages, engaging in the most primitive and intense clash on the vast sea. And just at that moment, a most inappropriate voice was clearly transmitted to everyone's ears through the Azure Dragon's broadcast system.
"Captain, Lord Newgate, Miss Linlin, everyone," it was Ren's voice, as calm as if he were taking a walk in his own backyard. "It's almost dinnertime. Tonight's menu is Deep Sea Dragon King Fish Head Hot Pot and Golden Ratio Roasted Pork Steak. Please finish your battles within ten minutes, come back, wash your hands, and eat. The food won't wait."
Ren's voice spread clearly across the entire battlefield. Its calmness, so out of place with the world-destroying scene around it, made everyone who was fighting fiercely pause for a moment. Gatz, who was in a primitive power clash with Gaban, trading blows with his anchor and Gaban's axes, heard the words "roasted pork steak," and his movements noticeably slowed for a split second. His stomach grumbled. "Wahahaha! You're distracted!" Gaban seized the opportunity and sent Gatz stumbling back several steps with his axe, but he himself was also panting from the exertion.
On the other side, Linlin was directing Zeus and Prometheus, fighting several of Roger's officers, turning the world upside down. Hearing the signal for dinner, her huge eyes instantly lit up. Her desire for battle was immediately replaced by her appetite. "Time to eat! Time to eat!" she cheered. She actually abandoned her opponents and turned to fly toward the Azure Dragon, leaving the stunned members of the Roger Pirates behind.
And at the very center of the battlefield, the duel between Rocks and Roger also underwent a subtle change because of the sudden broadcast. "Hey, Rocks!" Roger forced Rocks back with a slash, a mocking smile on his face. "The chef on your ship is a really interesting guy. I've never seen anyone being called home for dinner in the middle of a fight!"
"Hmph, that's because you've never tasted his cooking," Rocks snorted, but his attack did not lessen in the slightest. "When I beat you to the ground, I'll just in time to drag you back to taste my victory dinner."
"We'll see about that!" The two clashed again, but the atmosphere was no longer as tense as before, but had a hint of the ease of old friends sparring.
