In a daze, Tanjiro saw an "S" shaped stream flow past her. The moment the stream passed was gentle, but then it turned cold and fierce, and leading that stream was Giyu Tomioka.
Water Breathing: Third Form - Flowing Dance.
After dispatching the clones that had surged ashore, Giyu rushed back to the battlefield to assist Tendo in combat.
His greatest talent lay in his precise observation and calm judgment during battle. When fighting alongside others, he could predict the techniques his partner would use based on the details of their movements, allowing him to coordinate seamlessly.
But Steel Scythe, once one of the Lower Moons, was not to be underestimated; he held his ground against two opponents, though both sides were merely testing each other and not going all out.
In Tanjiro's eyes, she could only see three afterimages: blue, yellow, and white. Yet, even if she saw nothing else, she remained fixated.
Because she knew that the blue afterimage was Giyu.
"Damn brat, ahhh!"
Steel Scythe roared, unleashing an even more powerful aura. The scythe in his hand glimmered with a cold light and rapidly grew in size.
In the blink of an eye, the scythe had lengthened to over ten meters. He swung it violently, the massive scythe slicing through the air, creating a sharp wind.
This strike descended like a meteor, aimed directly at Tendo and Giyu, but the two could not retreat; they had to block it, as the island was small, and dodging would risk harming innocent people.
Tendo had underestimated the strength of the Lower Moon, especially one who had once been among them.
Though he and Giyu had talent, they were still young, and their stamina had not peaked; they had to take this seriously.
Way Breathing: Mountain Form - Black Tortoise.
A yellowish fighting spirit enveloped Tendo as he swiftly swung his sword in all directions. However, the initiation of Black Tortoise was vastly different from that of Vermilion Bird.
Black Tortoise was a defensive sword technique he had grasped through understanding Rock Breathing, swinging the Nichirin Blade in a wide arc, the blade wind circulating and contained, unmoving as a mountain.
A faint golden silhouette of a Black Tortoise, covered in rock patterns, emerged, with a serpent on its back biting the blade. The giant scythe was halted, and upon witnessing this, Steel Scythe's pupils shook.
Not a Hashira, but surpassing one; this damn brat is hiding his strength. Does he look down on me?
Thinking this, he felt his face turn green with anger, veins bulging beneath his dry skin. The giant scythe tilted as if a mountain were collapsing, cracking the ground beneath Tendo's feet.
Giyu gripped his sword tightly, unsure why Tendo had given him the position of main attacker when he was clearly stronger and more suited for it.
Tendo indicated that he had to let Giyu take the lead; this was his moment to shine.
You keep saying you'll avenge her; you must kill that demon.
"Hahaha!" Steel Scythe concealed his surprise and began to taunt, "Two ignorant little brats, one is pinned down by me, and the other is too scared to move. Tsk, tsk, tsk!"
"Two pieces of trash, dying at my hands is your honor."
But just as he finished speaking, thunder rumbled, and a crimson-gold qilin-shaped blade wind shot up from the ground, snapping the giant scythe in half.
Tendo retorted without hesitation, "Your broken thing isn't sturdy at all; does being a discarded Lower Moon count for anything?"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk!"
Upon hearing this, Steel Scythe's defenses crumbled again. He couldn't understand why this damn brat was fixated on this matter.
"You, looking for death!" He gritted his teeth in anger, his teeth grinding like firecrackers.
The exchange of trash talk concluded, and in an instant, Steel Scythe's scythe reappeared in his hand. He transformed into a cannonball, charging straight at Tendo, the ground cracking beneath him.
Giyu quickly retreated to the side. Since he was to be the main attacker, he had to seize the opportunity for a decisive strike.
A faint blue fighting spirit enveloped Tendo, his agile figure resembling a flood dragon, and for a moment, the clash of blades was evenly matched between him and Steel Scythe.
Giyu had withdrawn from the battle; he had already exerted seventy percent of his strength but still retained thirty percent for emergencies.
"Kid, you seem to be struggling!"
"Thought you could act tough? You think you can take me on alone?"
"You'll pay for your arrogance!"
Seeing himself gaining the upper hand, Steel Scythe couldn't help but boast. He believed it was only a matter of time before he killed this arrogant brat.
Seizing the opportunity, he suddenly slashed down, and in an instant, five white clones sprang up from the ground, not only in the water but also on the shore.
The clones surrounded Tendo from all sides, and even Giyu, who usually remained calm, felt the pressure; if he didn't act soon, something bad would happen.
However, he met Tendo's confident gaze, and his thoughts dissipated.
When the five clones lunged at Tendo, Steel Scythe was surprised to find it was merely an afterimage. Indeed, to become a qualified support, he had exerted ninety percent of his strength while still keeping a layer in reserve for emergencies.
Unfortunately for Steel Scythe, he had let his guard down, and Tendo seized the new opportunity.
A dragon formed from his afterimage locked onto Steel Scythe, causing his legs to vanish, and his body uncontrollably toppled over.
Now was Giyu's moment.
He twisted his body and charged toward the demon at the fastest speed of his life.
Water Breathing: Tenth Form - Constant Flux.
Waves upon waves, a water dragon head emerged on the azure Nichirin Blade, and in just a few breaths, Giyu had twisted ten times.
Each twist unleashed a powerful force, and as his movements quickened, the speed of the water dragon's rotation increased.
When his blade struck toward Steel Scythe's neck, Constant Flux had already stacked to the twelfth turn, Giyu's best performance to date.
With one strike, he severed the demon's head.
Steel Scythe's world turned upside down; his withered head traced a beautiful arc in the air before plummeting into the sea.
With a splash, the water erupted in bubbles, and then everything returned to calm, just like Giyu's current state of mind.
He gripped his sword, watching the demon's body slowly dissipate. It seemed he had realized something, but it still needed time to refine. However, having this moment as a beginning was already good.
"Well done!" The best support and golden partner, Tendo, patted Giyu's shoulder and then pushed him toward Tanjiro.
Tanjiro looked up, her black gemstone-like eyes sparkling as she gazed at Giyu Tomioka.
"I've avenged you!" Giyu said, still wearing his usual cold, expressionless face.
"Yes!"
"Thank you, Giyu!"
Tanjiro covered her face and cried, her small figure so pitiful.
Tendo stood by, dumbfounded.
Is that it?
What now? The girl just lost her parents, crying so heartbreakingly in front of you, and you just stand there?
Shouldn't you offer her some comfort? At the very least, a tissue would suffice.
Seeing Giyu still standing there, Tendo helplessly facepalmed.
Sigh! (へ(;′Д`へ)
Can't handle it, can't handle it at all!
He walked over to Giyu and whispered, "Give her something to wipe her tears with."
"I don't have anything!"
"Then comfort her a bit!"
"How do I comfort her?"
"I***"
