Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Isn't Eating at a Foot Massage Parlor Normal?

He Chunming didn't say much, just gave Xiao Na a look, "Let's go."

The boss has spoken, the Gold Medal Salesperson had to listen too.

Xiao Na and the other sisters reluctantly glanced at Chen Mo's stall.

They thought they could eat their fill today, but unexpectedly, there were way more customers than the day before. Even though they got off work much earlier, they only got to eat ten dumplings.

It was really a bit disappointing.

Seeing He Chunming taking the girls away from the bridge, Zhang Feng and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"We're not going for a foot massage today, the foot massage city is already closed."

Dunzi agreed, "The boss must be dumbfounded, his foot massage business was beaten by a roadside stall, it's just ridiculous!"

"Who said those dumplings and porridge aren't delicious, yeah speaking of." Old Zhao waved his hand, "Boss, make more porridge tomorrow, this is really not enough to drink."

Chen Mo nodded, "I'll do my best."

This clay pot is already big enough, if it gets bigger, it might be hard to handle.

The car owners smacked their lips, reluctantly greeted each other and got into their cars, leaving one by one.

The previously bustling bridge quickly became deserted.

Brother Squid and Uncle Liu finished a bottle of white liquor, their income for the day had dropped significantly. It was a bit regretful.

"What's the origin of this guy? Could he be some sort of hidden culinary god playing it cool here?" Brother Squid had been reading a novel recently.

In it, powerful cultivators liked to disguise their tribulation-transcending abilities as the Foundation Establishment Stage, then pretend to be mediocre, getting bullied and forced to reveal their true skills to show off.

He felt Chen Mo was likely just like that.

From setting up his stall until now, Chen Mo sold ten batches of pan-fried dumplings and forty bowls of porridge, totaling an income of 2,600 yuan.

Brother Squid was so envious his eyes turned red!

Uncle Liu stayed calm, "Probably not, I saw Xiaochen was chopping meat awkwardly before, you can tell he's a novice."

Brother Squid's eyes turned even redder.

Chen Mo, triumphant, couldn't be happier, pushing his cart home, occasionally glancing at his WeChat wallet balance: 3,140 yuan.

This was just two days. If he kept up the stall for a year, Chen Mo felt he could quickly recover his abandoned building losses.

The current stall was still in the exploratory stage, Chen Mo started thinking about how to maximize profits.

The number of dumplings could be increased.

At the rate of one batch every ten minutes, in three full hours, he could at least prepare 15 batches of egg dumplings in advance!

As for the pig offal porridge, it couldn't be helped.

The older sister at the slaughterhouse could only find time to wash one set of innards, washing more would affect her main job, and that little bit of innards was only enough for one clay pot.

"Then I'll have to keep adding more items."

The food cart currently had only one plug for electricity and one stove. The electric griddle had to be on full to fry dumplings, the stove could rest once the porridge was done.

"There's porridge, there's dumplings." Chen Mo imagined himself as a diner, thinking about what would be most enticing at this moment.

"Seems like stir-fry would be good? Better if it's a bit bold in flavor."

Whether it's egg dumplings or pig offal porridge, they're all incredibly delicious with a mild taste. A dish with a slightly stronger taste would be perfect to excite the taste buds!

Unfortunately, the stall closed late, and he had to work the next day, so Chen Mo had to put the idea away and rest for now.

Luckily, Chen Mo, originally from a small town bookworm family, passed an exam after graduation to join a local state-owned company in an office job with very little work, basically...none.

The nine-to-five job was something many envied, but only Chen Mo knew that the job had become tasteless and a pity to quit.

After getting off at five, Chen Mo declined a colleague's invitation to hang out, immediately headed to the supermarket to prepare ingredients. Fortunately, he only needed a few types: eggs, rice, and pork belly, plus some scallions, ginger, garlic, and other seasonings would suffice.

Back at the abandoned building, Chen Mo hurriedly began making egg dumplings.

Each batch of egg dumplings was a hundred pieces, stored in the food cart's storage cabinet, and it wasn't until nine at night he finished 1,500 egg dumplings.

"Is there still time to learn a dish?"

During the day at work, Chen Mo slacked off and searched for recipes, finally deciding on Sichuan Cuisine for the evening stall dishes.

If we're talking bold flavors, Sichuan Cuisine definitely takes the lead!

Besides, it had to be a simple dish to make, given Chen Mo's current cooking skills couldn't handle anything too complex.

"Worst case, I'll count today as a loss!"

Chen Mo had bought the ingredients and seasonings from the supermarket, a large tub of pickled red peppers, along with about twenty pounds of chicken breast, and the recipe he found online was quite simple, a well-known Sichuan dish.

Diced Chicken with Chilies!

"No time for a trial run, let's just cook on the spot!"

Chen Mo took a spoonful of pickled red peppers and a piece of chicken breast and placed them in the food cart's input slot.

As expected, the food cart helpfully analyzed a suitable recipe for Chen Mo, and after a quick read-through, he couldn't stop smiling.

"I didn't expect the recipe from the cart to be simpler than the ones online."

By ten, Chen Mo didn't have time to try at home, so he quickly pushed the cart towards Central Avenue.

...

Day after day, year after year.

Uncle Liu and Brother Squid had been setting up stalls on Central Avenue for almost a year. The two of them munched on yellow-labeled Fenjiu, eating fried ham and grilled squid, watching the scene unfold, feeling quite emotional.

"I suddenly feel that earning money isn't what matters most in setting up this stall. It's the joy of doing it."

Uncle Liu gazed steadily at Chen Mo's spot where his stall hadn't even been set up yet, speaking with vigor, "I agree."

Chen Mo hadn't set up his stall, but a crowd had already gathered in front of it.

Not only that.

But these customers even oddly made a self-organized queue line.

That wasn't even the main point.

What truly rendered Uncle Liu and Brother Squid speechless was the lineup of customers...

"I suddenly feel like an emperor; this is the first time in my life I've seen so many beautiful girls." Brother Squid took another sip, today's liquor was especially sweet.

Uncle Liu felt young again, "What kind of trick is this now? It was a men's gathering a few days ago, now it's women. Do Chen's dumplings and porridge have such allure?"

The two chatted, while those in line did the same.

"The boss is really something; coming up with this kind of idea!"

Xiao Na giggled, "Let's eat first, then pack some to take back once we're done!"

This suggestion was immediately supported by the other sisters, "No problem!"

Meanwhile, at Shanshui Hall, He Chunming welcomed the men.

"Everyone! Rest assured, I've had the girls line up to buy pan-fried dumplings and pig offal porridge for everyone, guaranteed that everyone will get to eat today! Meanwhile, let's look at some photos, which therapist does everyone prefer?"

Zhang Feng, Dunzi, Old Zhao, and the others lay comfortably in their chairs.

Even Old Zhao, who usually snuck in for a foot massage, wasn't shy today. He even replied confidently when his wife texted him.

[Wife: Where are you? Why aren't you home yet?]

Old Zhao leisurely typed on his phone.

[Having dinner with friends! Will head back after eating.]

As a Cadillac owner, isn't it normal to eat at a foot massage place?
