After a busy day, it was already late when she returned to the hotel.
She took out her phone and realized that Landon Ford had sent her a message.
Landon: [I heard you went to another city?]
An hour ago.
Thea Shaw was too busy to check her phone earlier, so she immediately replied.
Thea: [Yep, there was a business deal out of town that I just wrapped up, and I made a million dollars.]
She felt elated.
Landon Ford called with a voice message, his deep, magnetic voice was soothing to hear: "Spreading feudal superstitions somewhere again?"
Not a very nice thing to say.
Thea was a bit annoyed: "How am I spreading feudal superstitions? Obviously, I was saving a rich but naive young woman and her lovely mother."
