Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Does She Really Not Care About Aurora Sutton?

"This... Thea, you look really beautiful."

Mrs. Sutton didn't know how to compliment her.

The originally dry words now seemed perfectly fitting.

Just beautiful, stunningly so.

Mr. and Mrs. Sutton had seen a lot in their lives, but were momentarily speechless by the person before them.

Thea wasn't just beautiful; she had a unique aura.

This aura was transcendent, something they hadn't seen before, and they couldn't describe it; akin to the revered hosts of the temples they frequented.

Desireless and seeking nothing, monk-like to the extreme.

This left them a bit startled.

What had Thea gone through to change so drastically so suddenly?

There was no sign of it when she returned yesterday.

They even felt a subtle sense of guilt towards this child, yet they didn't know how to make amends.

Thea now didn't care about the Sutton parents' attitude; she simply smiled at them warmly, "Thank you."

When others praise your beauty, it certainly makes you happy.

Moreover, this wasn't a polite flattery; they were speaking the truth.

Thea knew she was beautiful; in the Women's Respect Country, this face was exactly the same as her previous one.

The most obvious requirement of being a Great National Master was to be beautiful.

That's right, everywhere people judge by appearances.

"Good, this is great."

Though Mr. Sutton and Justin were used to great ups and downs, they didn't know how to converse with Thea, but now seeing her so naturally composed, they felt a sense of relief.

As long as she wasn't angry or resentful, having wandered for twenty years, now they had the time, and still had the opportunity to make amends.

After all, she was their biological daughter, bound by blood.

Mrs. Sutton, Jane Jacobs, eyes also brightened, approached Thea and naturally praised, "Thea looks really good in a dress, I'll have someone custom-make a few more for you another day."

After all, these were just bought ready-made, nothing compared to custom-fit.

If there was a chance to slowly build a harmonious relationship with this daughter, Mrs. Sutton was willing to put in the effort.

Yesterday, she was startled by the ferocity in this child's eyes and was even more unsure how to face Thea. But with Thea's demeanor today, perhaps Thea had let it go, and she was relieved.

Thea nodded, and seeing her so composed, Zia Sutton completely relaxed and naturally said, "Mom, should we head over now?"

"That'll do."

Mrs. Sutton said, "The Ford Family lives far, so we should head over now."

The three of them prepared to set off, heading to their rooms to change into formal attire for the occasion.

Zia was the first to change into his suit and come out. Dressed in a black tailor-made suit, covering him from head to toe, the suit masked a bit of his youthful innocence, giving him a refined young talent vibe, and finally, Thea exhaled a sigh of relief and dared to look at Zia directly!

She naturally asked him, "Where is Aurora Sutton?"

She barely remembered Aurora Sutton, having only met her once before, then she had traveled to another place.

Thirty years had gone by; it was impressive to remember names at all, let alone hold any opinions on Aurora Sutton.

Zia tensed up, looked at Thea with a complicated expression, then said, "Aurora has something at school, she won't be back tonight."

Aurora Sutton also didn't know how to face Thea; she had even found an excuse not to attend the Ford family's banquet today to avoid making Thea feel awkward.

The Sutton family now also tried not to mention Aurora Sutton too much, fearing Thea might feel uncomfortable; little did they expect Thea to bring her up on her own.

Thea nodded and replied, "Okay."

Her demeanor was calm and natural, not a hint of resentment towards Aurora Sutton, and Zia wondered absentmindedly if she really didn't care.
