August 1st, the first day of the month, morning assembly.
Before dawn, Tang Xiaobai got up to send her father and brother off to the assembly.
She saw them off out of the house, out of the neighborhood gate, and even further.
"That's enough, go back!" Tang Ziqian urged her with a smile.
Tang Xiaobai half-heartedly replied "Okay," but she lingered, her eyes drifting to the street across.
At this hour, the dawn light hadn't arrived, the night fog hadn't dispersed, only lanterns could be seen drifting towards the Imperial Palace direction, with shadows and the clatter of horse hooves, it was quite lively.
But she couldn't see clearly.
Tang Ziqian, however, saw clearly and snorted, "The person might have gone ahead already!"
Tang Xiaobai blushed, taking advantage of the darkness to keep looking stubbornly across the street.
"Go back." Tang Shigong spoke.
