100 Chapter Celebration Q&A

Hello… we just hit 100 chapters, and the novel now has over 300k words, so I figured it was time for a second Q&A. I've got a ton of fun and interesting questions from you guys across platforms…. some I've already answered before, some I've been saving just for this occasion. So, here we go.

Warning: Some of these answers will contain spoilers up to chapter 100. To enjoy the novel in the best way, I'd recommend reading at least the first 100 chapters before diving into this Q&A. Anyway… here we go.

Q: Is Astro going to introduce tech like cars or the internet to Earthland?

A: No. Astro is great at micro-managing, economics, and paperwork (thanks to Maria and Aurora ), but he's not the kind of guy who could just build a car, a phone, or the internet from scratch.

However, what you can expect from him is his affecting the medical sector of Earthland. Remember, he spent most of his life in a hospital bed, and then he learned from one of Earthland's best doctors (Porlyusica). It'd be completely out of character for him not to even make a single dent in the medical world.

But it would be mostly his own research with Porlyusica, not copying tech from our world and hoping it works.

Q: Is Astro going to lose his Sky Devil Slayer magic?

A: Can you imagine? After the first volume, I even changed the title to Fairy Tail: That Time I Was Born as a Prince… Yeah, I'm looking at you, Thunderbolts. Why did you change the title to New Avengers after the movie ended? Why didn't you advertise with a better title like that from the start and make more money?

Anyway… It's looking pretty serious for Astro right now. Will he lose it? Maybe… maybe not. You'll just have to see. The only thing I will say is that Astro's origin story is not done yet… the whole first volume is his origin story… And we are almost at the end of it.

Q: Is Jellal stronger than Astro?

A: Honestly, here's a quick rundown of the important characters around Astro's generation in terms of power level. (as of chapter 100)

Graxia < Erza < Astro (without the Imperium Eye) < Mystogan < Vera < Astro (with Imperium Eye) < Percival < Laxus < Jellal (with Imperium Eye and complete body)

This list will obviously change as the story goes on — characters will power up, new ones will join, and things will shift.

Q: Is Jellal a good guy now?

A: I won't go into full details yet, but he still needs a lot of character development.

If his story followed canon too closely, it would honestly be a huge letdown, as that would mean Astro's existence didn't matter if his own brother suffered the same way as he did in the original story.

Plus, the original Jellal story had so many missed opportunities. Hades made him suffer, but Jellal never got his justice. His self-discovery arc dragged on for way too long, and the whole Oracion Seis thing kind of went nowhere. Ultear's problem was solved way too abruptly as well.

That said, Jellal will be the deuteragonist of the series. The first volume is Astro's origin story, so I haven't included him much yet… but by the end of the first volume, his motives and goals will start to become clearer.

Q: Is Astro's weapon, Aetherkrone, better than Erza's Wind God Sword? Is Zenith's weapon the Great Moon Sword?

A: For those wondering, the Great Moon Sword is from Elden Ring. And yes, Zenith's great sword's design is inspired by that.

As for Astro's Aetherkrone vs Erza's Wind God Sword… I can spoil a little, since it won't be mentioned directly in the story. I kind of set this up for a potential 100-Year Quest-style sequel. I'll see how 100-Year Quest ends, and then maybe I'll explore it.

Anyway, here's a list of the 12 relics in the series. I won't say why they're special yet. None of them has a fixed form… they can take different shapes depending on the user. Anyone can use them, but their full power only works for the chosen user.

Relic of Sky – True Owner: Astro Synaris Blackmist (preferred form: polearm)...Astro calls it Aether….In another timeline, Erza used it after finding it at the destroyed capital of Joya Kingdom… she called it Wind God Sword.

Relic of Moon – True Owner: Zenith (preferred form: great sword). Zenith calls it Umbrael.

In another timeline, Ikaruga of Trinity Raven found it beside the corpse of a teal-haired boy. It's said to be able to cut through anything….Ironically, the katana style she used was called Moonless Sky…

Relic of Sun – True Owner already has it and is rumored to be someone working close to one of the Wizard Saints of Ishgar… no confirmation yet.

Relic of Sea – ???

Relic of Earth – ???

Relic of Love – True Owner: Arthur Verina (preferred form: bo staff)...He calls it Visastra.

Relic of War – True Owner: Erza Scarlet (preferred form: sword)... She calls it Benizakura.

Relic of Fire – ???

Relic of Wisdom – ???

Relic of Order – ???

Relic of Chaos – ???

Relic of Speed – ???

Yes… They're all based on the Twelve Olympians lol.

Q: Is there going to be a love triangle with Astro, Mira, and Laxus?

A: Nope. That Mira and Laxus ship was just a fan thing because there wasn't a canonical pairing for them. And there's actually a good reason it never happened…

Laxus, unlike the other younger Fairy Tail generation, was born in the guild. To him, Fairy Tail is his home, unlike others who joined later and had a home before Fairy Tail…. So, giving him a relationship with a guild member he grew up treating like a younger sister wouldn't make any sense.

That's why, despite being called a playboy, Laxus never made a move on any guild girl or even joked about it. Lucy was the only exception, but it was obvious that it was to show that he didn't accept her as a guild member back then. As for Kiria… she is not going to appear in this novel, and so Laxus doesn't have a fixed pairing here. So he gets to stay a Playboy and enjoy life. Lucky him, I guess.

Q: Why don't I choose any other female characters as the heroine? Why is it going to be Mira here?

A: She's way too important to the overall story to just be "another female character." And like I said in the last Q&A, Mira x Astro is going to be different from all the other OC x Mira pairings. You could say it's… hotter? More sensual? More mature? Anyway, it's not gonna be one of those boring tsundere x male protagonist things you see everywhere in non-harem stories.

As for the other characters… well, it's the same reason Laxus and Mira never made sense. First of all, the age gap is just too big for Astro. Some of them, Astro will actually meet in Volumes 2 and 3… when they're still young. So nope… not happening.

As for Ultear… I'm not gonna lie, there isn't a single reason these two would ever be attracted to each other romantically. It's already impressive enough if Astro doesn't kill Ultear on their first meeting, especially after what she did to Siegrain.

Q: When did Astro's butterfly effect start taking over?

A: Year X779. Right after Astro returned to Earthland from Earth. Everything before that basically happened as it did in the original timeline — or the canon story, if you want to call it that. You could say I just filled in some unexplained gaps that happened before X779.

Jellal being a prince… well, there were a lot of unexplained and weird things about him in Fairy Tail. Everyone seems to have some powerful or important family history… but Jellal…well…

He's just a village boy who somehow caught the attention of Hades and Ultear out of so many people there.

He's just a village boy who somehow managed a huge tower full of people from childhood, handling all the logistics and stuff for years.

He's just a village boy who somehow became a Wizard Saint with only half of his body.

And so much more…

I think there were some plans for Jellal's story originally, even in the canon story, but the author was afraid that giving him a protagonist-level backstory would overshadow the main characters, since he was already very popular. So he got a "normal" backstory instead… which ended up causing even more questions about his identity and abilities. So I just took the liberty of what could have been, I guess?

As for Celestia knowing Lucy's mother and her summoning the Celestial Wizard King… well, it's already canon that Layla knew other Celestial Wizards and asked them to get their keys to open the Eclipse Gate. It's also canon that at least one person before Lucy actually summoned the Celestial Spirit King… and in one of those instances, the Spirit King met Mard Geer and actually defeated him.

This also explains why Tartaros stayed behind the scenes for most of the series. They only wanted to make a move when they were fully ready and confident, so they wouldn't be easily defeated by humans again.

As for Acnologia vs Celestial Spirit King… well, that was pretty cool, right?

Anyway, Aurora being a teacher in disguise for Siegrain also explains why he knows so many magics. If Brain really taught him the Heavenly Body Magic, there'd be no reason for Brain not to use it as well.

In year X779, Astro was supposed to be killed just after returning to Earthland by Golvax and Eric after they tortured him a bit. But Astro didn't die, and that small survival caused a major shift in the timeline. Aurora, who was supposed to die that night because she was weakened from taking all of Astro's pain, didn't die. She was saved by Arthur, who woke up in time because Astro's body no longer needed energy to keep it alive anymore.

And that's how the timeline shift started.

As for why I didn't tell what happened to Astro in x779-x782… well, that'll be revealed soon, side by side with Siegrain's story during those three years.

Anyway, that's all for now. Thanks so much for continuing to read the story! You can drop any questions you have in the comment section, and I'll get to them when I can.
