In New York, at the top of Stark Tower, the original landing pad had been transformed into a silver Sentry platform. The metallic surface split open, and a massive silver Sentry rose slowly from within.
"Abnormal energy fluctuation detected in New York City. Beginning scan."
"Scanning… Scan complete."
"Four anomalous energy signatures located. Determining coordinates…"
"Coordinates confirmed. Target location: burger restaurant on Viken Avenue."
"Sentry deployed. Objective: eliminate all anomalies."
Four meters tall, the Sentry's body gleamed with cold silver light. Its single mechanical eye glowed scarlet. Its sole purpose was to remove obstacles—any irregular energy signal automatically became its target.
So the moment it detected energy emissions from Tony Stark's nano–Iron Man suits, the Sentry activated.
Inside the top executive office of Stark Tower, one entire wall had transformed into a transparent glass-like display, streaming rapidly changing images. In the center of the room, Tony Stark—wearing a tailored suit—watched the screen calmly.
Except it wasn't Tony Stark.
It was Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, disguised as Tony.
For years she had been carrying out the plan left behind by Allens—slowly taking control of the world, turning Stark Industries into the dominant global power, and replacing every superhero with controllable Sentries.
But Wanda felt no pride. Everything she achieved had been part of Allens' blueprint.
She had played Tony Stark flawlessly, even maintaining his trademark playboy personality. No one doubted her.
And those who did had their minds quietly rewritten by her chaos magic.
Stark Industries was now filled with the world's top talent. Even the remains of HYDRA couldn't threaten them. Even without Allens' genius intellect, the company continued rapidly developing new technologies—most of which were funneled into the Sentry program.
"SIR, a Sentry has appeared on Viken Avenue. Should we initiate the elimination protocol?"
J.A.R.V.I.S. echoed through the office. The wall display instantly switched to the Sentry's point of view as it descended upon Viken Avenue.
"Let's see how strong these future Avengers really are. J.A.R.V.I.S.—initiate the elimination protocol."
Wanda's eyes gleamed with interest. She was especially curious about the Tony Stark from the future—the man she was impersonating.
Click. Click.
Following her command, the four-meter-tall Sentry floated down outside the burger shop wall. Through its single glowing eye, it scanned everything happening inside.
As the charging sequence began, mechanical plates along its body shifted and pulsed with energy, funneling power into the central eye.
Inside the burger shop, the moment Nick Fury sensed the energy surge coming from the four Avengers' armor, he immediately pulled out an unusually large weapon from under his coat.
"F***—we're in big trouble."
His expression turned grim. The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents hidden inside the restaurant revealed themselves, each pulling out their own advanced weapons and taking combat positions.
BOOM!
The wall behind Hulk exploded as the Sentry walked straight through the concrete without slowing. Its single eye flashed—and a scarlet beam fired directly at Hulk, blasting him across the room.
"F***! What the hell is that?!"
Tony's armor immediately formed around him, and a flood of HUD data scrolled across his faceplate. Staring at the towering Sentry stepping into the restaurant, Tony raised both hands and fired a barrage of micro-missiles.
Chi! Chi! Chi!
But to Tony's shock, every missile that struck the Sentry dissolved into a ring of blue light before being absorbed entirely into its body.
"Fire!"
Nick Fury roared, pulling the trigger. A concentrated blue energy beam shot forward.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents followed, firing their own beams and forcing the Sentry back step by step. Blue halos flickered across its armor—then vanished just as quickly.
ROAR!!
Hulk, enraged from being blasted away, sprang up with fury. He was still a head shorter than the Sentry, but he swung a fist the size of a boulder straight at its head.
BANG!
To Hulk's shock, the Sentry didn't even dodge. It raised its own fist and met Hulk's punch head-on. The shockwave flattened tables, chairs, and half the restaurant.
"Dammit! Banner, fall back! We are NOT its opponents!"
Nick Fury shouted, face dark.
BOOM! BOOM!
They fired again—but this time, the Sentry raised its left hand. An invisible energy shield materialized, blocking every shot effortlessly.
"Run!"
Fury didn't wait for explanations. He glanced at Tony and immediately sprinted toward the exit.
"Okay, situation unclear. Guys, we're retreating!"
Tony launched a repulsor blast from his right hand—only to watch it dissolve instantly into blue particles absorbed by the Sentry.
"Same here."
Hulk clearly agreed. With a roar, he grabbed Captain America and Scott Lang under each arm, smashed through the wall, and sprinted after Fury.
BOOM!
Before Tony could move, the Sentry's eye condensed a cluster of microwave-like energy, rapidly expanding before firing straight at him.
"F***! Damn it, Banner!"
Tony cursed as he dodged, activating full-thrust boosters. Jets of compressed air blasted from his shoulder blades as he shot toward Fury and the others—
—while the Sentry charged up again behind him.
