"Boom!"
From the sky, the yellow psychic light poured downward, each wave of spiritual energy rolling like a tide, unleashing terrifying power. With Allens at the center, every intelligent being around him lost consciousness.
"Ahem… Mr. Allens, I finally understand my fate. I am your guardian angel."
In the dazzling yellow glow, Raina laughed bitterly. Yet her eyes showed no fear, no resentment—only devotion and joy.
When Allens faltered against the light of the Mind Stone, Raina had rushed ahead with superhuman speed, placing herself between him and the blast that should have struck him.
The yellow brilliance surged into her chest. Wrapped in the light, Raina looked like a holy angel descending to Earth. Within her mind, endless illusions unfolded, dragging her into a nightmarish spiritual world.
But even before the terrors swarming toward her, Raina's smile never faltered.
"Mr. Allens… I really do look like an angel now. Since childhood, I knew I would one day become this beautiful."
Her words cut through the haze. Allens' consciousness ripped free from the illusions, his vision clearing. And when his gaze landed on Raina, emotion flickered briefly across his otherwise cold eyes.
"My little flower… you're more beautiful than any angel."
He drew her gently into his arms, staring at her with complicated feelings. To him, Raina had always been nothing more than a tool, a pawn to further his goals. Yet in that moment, she had literally taken the light of his soul upon herself.
"Mr. Allens… you are a great man. In you, I see my destiny. To follow you until the end of my life—that is my fate."
Inside her illusions, monstrous horrors clawed toward her. But Raina felt no fear, only warmth in Allens' embrace. For the first time in her life, she had found true purpose.
Allens pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. This fragile flower who had given everything for him stirred something unexpected within his lonely heart.
But just as he stared into her glowing eyes, they suddenly shifted. The light in her gaze vanished, replaced by something foreign.
"Hey! Bastard, let me go! Do you know what you're doing? You're harassing a Patriot!"
The righteous tone and self-righteous glare made Allens' face harden. The Mind Stone's light had twisted her very consciousness, transforming Raina from his loyal devotee into a so-called "Patriot."
"…Forget it. My beautiful flower is gone. Now you're just another enemy."
His expression went cold once more. The woman who had blocked the soul light for him was no more. Standing before him was "Patriot Raina," her essence rewritten.
"Erase memory."
Placing his hand on her forehead, Allens unleashed his psychic power, wiping away every memory she had before the transformation. Her eyes clouded with confusion, emptied of her past.
But the rewriting wrought by the Mind Stone could not be undone. Even with her memories erased, what remained was not Raina the prophet—but Patriot Raina.
"Boom!"
Allens rose into the sky, his body breaking the sound barrier with a deafening sonic boom. He vanished into the clouds, his face dark with fury.
"There's someone here… who needs help."
Behind him, Raina stirred from her daze. Blinking, she spotted the unconscious Phil Coulson and his team scattered across the battlefield—and Skye, her brain damaged but eyes fluttering open under the Mind Stone's revival.
Allens neither knew nor cared that Raina moved to save Coulson's people. His heart seethed only with anger—the rage of nearly having his own soul rewritten.
Captain Rogers, the old soldier, was in Asgard and out of reach. But the young Captain America and the Avengers? They were still on Earth.
If the Mind Stone had rewritten him, Allens might have become "Patriot Allens." That thought alone drove his fury. Such a violation of his consciousness was intolerable.
"Boom!"
He streaked across the sky at Mach 7, faster than America's most advanced jets. His destination: Siberia.
At Baron Strucker's HYDRA base, the Avengers were in the midst of battle.
Captain America Steve Rogers, Iron Man Tony Stark, Hawkeye Clint Barton, Black Widow Natasha Romanoff, Thor, and Hulk smashed through HYDRA's defenses. Soldiers were sent flying by shockwaves, armored vehicles and tanks reduced to scrap under the onslaught. The Hulk alone tore apart heavy armor with every swing of his fists.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The battlefield thundered with explosions. The Avengers swept through wave after wave of HYDRA troops, unstoppable.
"Damn those Avengers!"
Baron Strucker stood deep within the underground levels of his fortress, 100 meters below the surface. His expression was grim, eyes burning with rage.
"Activate our secret weapons. Teach them a lesson."
His order rang coldly through the comms.
Up above, two figures stood hand in hand inside HYDRA's fortress—a young man and woman. Their eyes burned with hatred as they gazed at the sky, where Iron Man streaked past in his shining armor.
"There will be rewards for loyalty. Now is the time to serve HYDRA."
A HYDRA agent barked at them, voice commanding.
"The time for revenge… has come."
