"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 210: Inverse Form? Sawa Yamauchi
"Actually, the First Spirit stood right in front of you yesterday."
Shuo's words were calm, but each syllable landed like a hammer.
Kurumi's eyes went wide, her mismatched irises—one crimson, one gold—fixing on Shuo with stunned intensity.
She almost thought she'd misheard. This was impossible.
For over twenty years, she'd hunted the First Spirit, fueled by a hatred that had become part of her bones.
And now, to be told that her quarry had brazenly appeared before her, unrecognized—Kurumi's shock twisted instantly into rage.
That woman. Was she mocking her? Playing some cruel game?
"Who is she? Who—who is the First Spirit?"
Kurumi's voice trembled with fury, barely contained.
Shuo raised his hands defensively, feeling a chill crawl down his spine under Kurumi's yandere glare.
"Kurumi, could you not look at me like that? I swear, I don't have any vendetta against you."
He let out a resigned sigh.
"I knew you'd react like this. But listen—getting angry won't change anything. You need to stay calm."
Kurumi's lips curled into a cold, mirthless smile.
"Heh. If our positions were reversed, Nangong-kun, would you be calm?"
"Fair point. Still—my advice is the same: give up. You're not her match. The gap between you and the First Spirit is… immeasurable."
Kurumi's response was ironclad.
"Words mean nothing. I'll never give up."
"So you're willing to do anything to revive your friend—Sawa Yamauchi—even if it costs you everything?"
Kurumi met his gaze, unflinching.
"If I go back thirty years and kill the First Spirit, the Eurasian Air Disaster will never happen. All those innocent girls… none of those tragedies would ever occur."
Shuo shook his head.
"I can't agree."
Kurumi's eyes narrowed, suspicion flickering.
"Why? Are you trying to stop me?"
Shuo ignored the warning in her voice, speaking evenly:
"First, there's no guarantee your plan would work. Second—I came to this world for you Spirits.
And even if you made it back thirty years, facing the First Spirit would be suicide. So… let it go."
Kurumi stared, disbelief warring with confusion.
Traveling between worlds? That sounded like something ripped from a bad novel. Was he really not from this world? She refused to accept it.
Still, her refusal was absolute. Shuo watched her, then made his offer.
"If you're willing to abandon this plan, I'll help you realize your dream."
"My dream?"
Kurumi's voice was wary, but curious.
"That's right. But first, answer me honestly."
Shuo's gaze sharpened, the air between them thickening.
"Spirits usually invert when their emotions spiral out of control—when they're lost in despair. After you killed Sawa Yamauchi, do you remember ever inverting?"
Kurumi pressed a fingertip to her chin, brows furrowed in thought.
"Inverting? No… I don't recall ever experiencing that."
She paused, voice growing distant.
"Honestly, nothing in this world could make me invert now. I have nothing left—just my wish. Nothing else matters."
Shuo studied her in silence, catching fleeting glimpses of another girl—white-haired, tragic—superimposed over Kurumi's form.
His expression turned grave.
"So it's true. You have no memory of it."
He continued, voice low and deliberate:
"But Kurumi, you did invert once. And your inverse form isn't just another side of you—it's a completely independent personality."
Kurumi blinked, momentarily lost.
"What do you mean my inverse isn't me? That it's… someone else?"
The information hit her like a tidal wave, leaving her reeling.
She struggled to grasp his meaning. When had she ever inverted? Why couldn't she remember?
Seeing her confusion, Shuo stopped holding back.
"After you killed Sawa Yamauchi, you nearly inverted. But you managed to use the Fourth Bullet to restore yourself before it happened.
Afterward, you learned the First Spirit's true purpose—but she sent you to a neighboring world, until you eventually returned.
Meanwhile, Sawa—your friend, whom you killed—also ended up in that world. She fused with your inverse form and became the White Queen."
He paused, letting the truth settle.
"In plain terms, your inverse personality… is Sawa Yamauchi."
Kurumi's mind went blank. It felt as if lightning had struck her, leaving her frozen in place.
She tried to force calm, but the revelation was too much—too absurd, too horrifying.
For a long moment, she stood in stunned silence, until Shuo's gentle voice coaxed her back.
When she finally spoke, her words trembled with confusion and dread.
"You said Sawa fused with my inverse? What does that even mean?"
Shuo shrugged, trying to sound casual.
"It means exactly what it sounds like."
He could feel Kurumi's murderous glare intensify, and offered a sheepish smile.
"The soul of Sawa Yamauchi—after her death—merged with your inverse form.
Ever since you killed her, she's existed inside you, sharing your body, living as your inverse."
Kurumi staggered back, her expression vacant, almost unable to stand.
"This… This can't be! I don't believe it! Sawa died because of that damned woman—I killed her! How could she possibly be living inside me?!"
"You're lying. You must've dug up my past with the Second Spirit's Angel and made up this story to trick me. It's all fake…"
Kurumi's voice was a whisper, trembling with horror and denial.
She stared at Shuo, fear flickering behind her rage.
