Azazel's question hung in the air, a reminder of the stakes.
"Shuo-kun, can you really stand against those otherworldly demon gods?"
Sirzechs fixed Shuo with a piercing stare, his words edged with urgency and fear. The whole room seemed to lean in, hope flickering in their eyes.
Shuo just smiled, lazy and unbothered.
"Relax. The strongest of those mechanical evil gods barely hits mid triple-digit power. They're not worth losing sleep over."
He let the words hang for a beat, then added,
"The Azure Dragon inside me? That's a single-digit existence. They're not even in the same league."
A collective gasp swept through the crowd.
Until now, the true scale of the Azure Dragon's power had been a mystery. Shuo's casual reveal shattered every preconception.
Ding! Congratulations, Host. Purple mission complete. You've received a Purple Gift Pack!
The system's chime snapped Shuo out of his thoughts. He glanced around—Azazel, Sirzechs, Michael, and the rest stared at him as if he'd sprouted wings.
Tsk. Sirzechs's mission was easier than expected.
Guess he had no clue about the Azure Dragon's real strength until now.
Counting Vali and Lux's tasks, Shuo realized he'd racked up one purple and two black gift packs.
His gaze drifted to Michael. Time to throw Heaven's biggest "martyr" a bone.
With a flicker of intent, Shuo tapped into the "Pride" library. A black robe, stitched with gold thread, materialized around him—the signature of his Mage Mode.
A grimoire appeared in his hand. Under the stunned eyes of everyone present, Shuo invoked a spell themed "Control."
"Heaven's system is back online," he announced. "Michael, when you return, the Angel Pool will resume creating pure-blooded angels. You'll have full command over Heaven's system again."
For a moment, Michael just stared. Then shock hit him like a tidal wave.
"What?!"
Azazel and Sirzechs flinched.
Shuo could repair Heaven's system? That was… insane.
But after everything they'd seen—the dragon phantom, the impossible feats—they couldn't quite bring themselves to doubt him. The shock, though, lingered.
Shuo shrugged, as if it was nothing.
"I just used a Mage ability to rewrite Heaven's system rules. Piece of cake."
He'd tapped into "Control," hitting "world construction" level magic. That let him command Heaven's holy power directly, even issuing an "erase holy power" order. The result: Heaven's system was free from its old constraints. In mage circles, they called this "naked magic"—the ultimate anti-mage technique.
Michael's composure finally cracked. Tears shimmered in his eyes as gratitude overwhelmed him.
"Shuo-kun… thank you. Ever since God vanished, Heaven's system was on its last legs. This means everything."
"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Meanwhile, in Heaven—
Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, and the other Seraphim stared at the system console in disbelief. The Angel Pool overflowed with pure faith, new angels emerging in a steady stream.
What was going on?
Had their Lord returned?
Excitement and confusion mixed in their hearts.
The truth: God was alive, but this miracle was all Shuo's doing.
Ding! Congratulations, Host. Mission complete—Black Gift Pack awarded!
Another system notification. Shuo stretched, yawning wide.
"Well, that's that. Time to head home."
Michael spoke up, hesitant.
"Shuo-kun, won't you stay for the rest of the meeting? Your perspective means a lot to us."
Shuo waved him off.
"Not interested. You three can handle it. I'll leave the politics to the experts."
Sirzechs, Michael, and Azazel looked disappointed, but didn't press.
Vali and Lux exchanged glances, then smiled at Shuo.
"We owe you, Shuo. If there's nothing else, we'll be on our way."
As they turned to leave, Azazel called out,
"Vali, about Shuo and that dragon phantom—keep it quiet. If word gets out, it'll be trouble."
Vali and Lux nodded, but Shuo just snorted.
"Why hide it? If anyone's stupid enough to come looking for trouble, let them. I'll scatter their ashes and raze their base for good measure."
Vali and Lux's faces twitched. They left Kuoh Town, minds blown.
Azazel and Sirzechs exchanged uneasy glances. Shuo's words echoed in their heads:
Note to self—warn all devils and fallen angels. Don't mess with Shuo, or you'll never know what hit you.
Michael, meanwhile, felt no such anxiety. Heaven was safe—and Shuo's bond with their Lord ran deep.
With nothing left to do, Shuo prepared to head out. But then he turned to Michael, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Oh, and Michael—next time, bring Gabriel. I miss her."
Michael's mouth twitched.
He's got his sights set on Gabriel, huh?
Remembering Shuo and Gabriel's last encounter in Heaven, Michael could only sigh and nod.
"Alright… next time, I'll bring Gabriel."
The rest of the group reacted in their own ways. Azazel laughed, clapping Shuo on the back.
"Typical Shuo—always aiming high, even for Gabriel!"
Rias and Sona shot him resentful looks. If Gabriel joined the fray, they'd have another powerhouse rival.
The other girls had their own complicated feelings. Even Serafall glared at Shuo, irritation simmering beneath her cheerful façade.
Shuo caught the look, pausing.
"Hm? Serafall's jealous?"
He grinned.
"Nice. I'll win you over sooner or later."
Ignoring the stares and whispers, Shuo vanished from sight—just another day for the strongest in the DxD world.
