Chapter 36 - Promise

Kurokawa Saki went back home and looked at the sleeping Miyano Akemi in her guest room. She was glad that the 'ghost' state would refresh their condition, so Kurokawa Saki ignored the other party temporarily and headed to her own room.

She's exhausted.

Morofushi Hiromitsu and Aunt Kira were staying in the apartment on the right and left respectively while Uncle Kenan stayed in the apartment below of hers.

Since Kurokawa Saki was staying at the top of the building, her apartment could be said to be extremely well protected. With all sides covered so that no one could possibly hurt her.

Miyano Akemi was put in Aunt Kira's guest room.

Kurokawa Saki sighed and then fell into a deep sleep.

She will take care of Miyano Akemi's matter tomorrow.

The next day, Kurokawa Saki woke up early and then headed to Morofushi Hiromitsu's apartment to eat. The young man looked at the girl helplessly.

"If I ever leave, how are you going to take care of your breakfast?" Morofushi Hiromitsu asked helplessly.

Kurokawa Saki shrugged. "Just prepare enough takeout and I don't think that I can't live without a cook."

Morofushi Hiromitsu rolled his eyes and then asked with some hesitation. "Do you think it's possible for you and Amuro Toru to work together openly?"

Work together openly?

Kurokawa Saki frowned.

To be honest, it might be more efficient for them to work together and Interpol had already reached a cooperation agreement with the public security. But for her personally, she felt inexplicably uncomfortable when she thought about Amuro Toru's three faces.

There was a skill called danger instincts back then and Kurokawa Saki bought it a long time ago and maxed it out. The reason is because she wanted to be able to detect danger and killing intent more keenly. She nearly died once before she bought this skill.

And after that, she had indeed become more sensitive and was able to escape various dangerous situations precisely.

However, things were not that simple.

"He's dangerous," Kurokawa Saki replied.

This is a rejection.

Morofushi Hiromitsu nodded helplessly and didn't force the other party. When it's time, Kurokawa Saki and Furuya Rei should be able to talk face to face.

After finishing her breakfast, Kurokawa Saki walked straight towards Aunt Kira's room and woke Miyano Akemi.

Miyano Akemi looked at the person in front of her with fear. She looked down at her body in confusion. Before she fainted, she seemed to have been hit by a bullet.

In front of her was Kurokawa Saki and Morofushi Hiromitsu.

"Scotch?" Miyano Akemi was shocked. "Did I die and meet Scotch again?"

"Huh? Have you ever seen her before?" Kurokawa Saki asked curiously. After all, the relationship between the three whiskeys was not that clear. She only knew bits and pieces about this matter.

"Yeah. I saw her beside Moroboshi Dai… I mean Akai Shuichi before," Morofushi Hiromitsu replied.

"Ooh." Kurokawa Saki looked at Miyano Akemi and then explained the situation to her. As for the ghost's matter, she simply let the system pass the information to Miyano Akemi's head.

Miyano Akemi digested the news in silence.

"Well, whether you want to find public security, stay, or go to Akai Shuichi, it's up to you. But if you choose the first or the third, I'll have to erase your memory," Kurokawa Saki said helplessly. "Don't worry, nothing will be wrong with your body."

Miyano Akemi nodded helplessly. Based on the information that was passed by the system, she knew that the woman in front of her was very capable. She could be saved precisely because of Kurokawa Saki's ability.

"Well, if you just want to protect your sister, it's fine, but Sherry is still in the Black Organization for now. She'll be able to get out on her own soon, though. When it happens, I can tell you the specific if you want to, but I can't help her right now." Kurokawa Saki scratched her cheek with some embarrassment.

She might be the third in command, but Karasuma Renya is extremely sensitive to drug related matters. Based on the plot, Sherry would be able to escape on her own and she didn't believe the game system would change this matter.

So Kurokawa Saki was not worried.

But Miyano Akemi didn't know that, so Kurokawa Saki didn't know how to convince the other party.

"No matter what decision you make, I'll support you," Kurokawa Saki said seriously.

Morofushi Hiromitsu, Aunt Kira, and Uncle Kenan were listening from the back. There was a faint smile on their lips.

When Kurokawa Saki first saved him, Morofushi Hiromitsu also felt that this girl was really kind and honest. It was precisely because of this that he was willing to listen to her words and helped her so far.

Even if there was a chance for him to return to the living, he didn't want to.

Because it might put Kurokawa Saki in danger.

Besides, Morofushi Hiromitsu himself wanted to see things until the very end.

And he believed that Aunt Kira and Uncle Kenan were the same. The three of them have followed Kurokawa Saki the longest and they trusted her.

When facing her 'ghosts,' Kurokawa Saki has always been at the most honest state.

She even dared to expose her real identity when facing them back then.

Miyano Akemi looked at Kurokawa Saki with a dazed expression. She looked up at the sweet face that was close to her and something stirred inside her, her eyes slowly warming.

When she made the decision to rob 1 billion yen and when she went to see Gin despite knowing she might die, she had never considered that she... could have support.

After all, her ex-boyfriend, whom she loved, stood in opposition to her. He was born in the light and only came to her for the sake of his mission.

She and her sister, on the other hand, were forced to stay in the shadows, unable to see the light of day.

They only have each other.

But now, the girl who had pulled her back from the brink of death told her that she, too, could have someone to support and protect her.

Miyano Akemi quickly lowered her head, suppressing her tears and bowed to Kurokawa Saki. "Thank you, Miss."

Thank you for accepting someone like me, someone so miserable, someone who had emerged from the dark mire.

A drop of water fell on the bed.

Kurokawa Saki was stunned. When she saved the others, none of them cried!

She didn't know how to face the other part.

She quickly turned her head to look at the other three.

Help! She really didn't mean to make Miyano Akemi cry!

Morofushi Hiromitsu shook his head helplessly. "It's fine, Saki. Miyano Akemi will be fine in a while. Also, do you have anything to do for the time being?"

"Uhm… I have properly asked for vacation from the organization." Kurokawa Saki frowned.

Miyano Akemi wiped her tears and looked at Kurokawa Saki in front of her. "Can you tell me more about your situation and possibly my sister's situation?"

"Ah, yes." Kurokawa Saki smiled brightly. "I'm Kurokawa Saki, my pseudonym is Hikari Yuki and I'm also known as Midori Yuki in the organization. I'm an undercover agent from Interpol, joining the organization three years ago and currently the third in command of the organization."

Miyano Akemi's brain crashed. "Excuse me?"

The third in command?

"Well, the winery is a sh*** ahem, place and I have been far away from Japan in the past few years, so you might not have known me. My codename is Sake."

Sake?

Miyano Akemi's eyes widened.

She had never heard Kurokawa Saki's pseudonym before, but she definitely had heard the codename Sake. She heard this from Shiho as most other people in Japan might not have heard of this codename. It was said that Sake is a cruel man who killed people without mercy and also the strongest sniper in the organization.

Why does… the image looks different?

Kurokawa Saki saw Miyano Akemi's confusion and she scratched her cheek with some embarrassment. "Well, you know, I have to act in the organization, so my image isn't very good. Anyway, I'm still undercover there, but because of my ability, those whom I saved will not be seen by anyone unless I set them to be able to be seen. So technically, you are safe as long as you stay as the 'ghost.' Of course, if you don't want to be a 'ghost,' I can cancel it, but you will lose your memory and stay in the hospital."

There was another form of the ghost returning with memory but with the information of the system blocked and they couldn't say it. But Kurokawa Saki couldn't let Miyano Akemi return in that state because it'll be very dangerous for her.

So far, those who returned to life have all their memories erased.

They never knew what had happened during the time when their death was faked.

"No, I don't want to cancel it." Miyano Akemi knew that Kurokawa Saki had helped her greatly and she's not an ungrateful person. If bringing her back to life will put Kurokawa Saki in danger, then she didn't want to.

"My sister, can you bring her out?" Miyano Akemi asked with a hopeful look. If there was anything that she hoped for, that would be for her sister to get out of that quagmire.

"Not now." Kurokawa Saki shook her head. "There'll be a chance to get her out of the organization, but my foundation in Japan is far from enough to touch the laboratory. They trust my ability but they will not trust me enough to touch these things. I promise you that I'll keep your sister safe."

Miyano Akemi looked at Kurokawa Saki in daze and then smiled gently. "Thank you, but you shouldn't put your life in danger for us."

Because Kurokawa Saki is also an undercover agent and has her own duty and mission.

She's happy that the other party was willing to save her and support her, but even with such a heaven defying ability, Kurokawa Saki is still a human being.

Also…

"And I would like to be one of your 'ghosts.' All I hope is for you to save my sister even if it means turning her into a ghost like this too." Miyano looked at Kurokawa Saki earnestly.

Kurokawa Saki: "..."

Wait, why does it sound as if you're selling your sister out?

And her ability is limited!

She has to be the one to kill the other party for her ability to work out.

After a few hours, Kurokawa Saki came to an agreement with Miyano Akemi. While it was impossible for Kurokawa Saki to ensure Miyano Shiho's safety all the time, she could send Miyano Akemi to monitor Shiho.

But before that, Kurokawa Saki had to figure out where Miyano Shiho was located first.

"Let me remind you that you still need to eat like a normal person and only people who are related to the Black Organization or the official agencies can't see you. Ordinary people can see you, so you still have to be careful," Kurokawa Saki reminded for the last time.

Miyano Akemi nodded resolutely. "I know. I'll be very careful!"

And Kurokawa Saki has the privilege to see the transformation of Miyano Akemi to Masami Hirota.

While their body shape was similar, the difference in hairstyle made her look like a completely different person. Coupled with the difference in clothing, Miyano Akemi looked nothing like how she used to be.

Kurokawa Saki: "..." no wonder this woman dared to rob 1 billion yen.

"You're not planning to directly ask them about Miyano Shiho, right?" Morofushi Hiromitsu looked uneasy. "The organization will never let her go so easily."

"I know. I'm not that stupid." Kurokawa Saki rolled her eyes.

She was typing the information and uploaded it to the secret server that she had made. It contained all the information from various countries that she had collected over the years.

This is her real secret.

There were also the addresses of several safe houses that she put inside containing the evidence that she had collected to put many people in jail.

Those local police indeed cooperated with Interpol but for the final roundup, Kurokawa Saki still held back the conclusive evidence and the most important address. This was to prevent these people from making a move on their own… After all, she couldn't control those agencies and only cooperated with them to a certain degree. Her ghosts who were still in Europe were bringing her the most important information from time to time.

There were also real people whom she had contact with.

After all, Kurokawa Saki couldn't possibly only rely on her ghosts for the rest of her life. Karin also needed the support of the local police officers from time to time.

"Anyway, I'm in Tokyo for vacation…" Kurokawa Saki sighed and took her key. "Let's go out and have fun, Brother Hiro."

Morofushi Hiromitsu smiled gently. "Where do you want to go?"

"Let's go look for the cake specialties here. If there's anything that's good, I can ask you to try replicating it~." Kurokawa Saki grinned happily.

When she didn't have to act with other organization members, Kurokawa Saki was actually quite normal. It was just that this state never lasted long.

"Ok." Morofushi Hiromitsu looked at the cheerful girl in amusement.

"Let's go~."

But it didn't take long for Kurokawa Saki to regret her decision.

Kurokawa Saki looked at the three people in front of her apartment and wondered if she should have gone to the temple.

It must be because of Edogawa Conan's radar that was at work.

Morofushi Hiromitsu looked at the four people in front of him and after a moment, he was stunned.

Because… none of them could see him.

"Sister Yuki?" Mouri Ran called out when she saw Kurokawa Saki with a bright smile.

"Hello, Ran and Sonoko." Kurokawa Saki smiled back and nodded at Sonoko. After that, she looked at no. 4 and Conan and blinked her eyes. "And who are these?"

"This is Edogawa Conan, the child who's staying in my house temporarily," Mouri Ran introduced. "And this is Kayama Ichiro, my classmate. Conan, Kayama kun, this is Hikari Yuki, my neighbor."

"Hello, Sister Yuki." Conan looked at Kurokawa Saki.

"Hello, Sister Hikari," Kayama Ichiro greeted in a normal tone. To be honest, after following these two girls back home, he had just realized that they actually knew so many people!

These people never appeared in the comic because they were not important characters.

But there were simply too many of them that he didn't know how to count.

So he didn't have much feeling when being introduced again.

"Hello, Kayama-Kun and Conan-Kun," Kurokawa Saki greeted politely, her eyes falling on the two people with just the right amount of curiosity.

In her heart, she was complaining that no. 2 really has his way to integrate with the protagonist group. Even though she could sense that Conan was basically hostile to him, Mouri Ran and Sonoko were on good terms with him.

"I haven't seen you in a while, Sister Yuki." Mouri Ran was a bit confused. "And the older brother who used to stay with you is not here either."

"Brother Hiro is busy," Kurokawa Saki replied while Morofushi Hiromitsu beside her arched his eyebrows and his eyes moved towards Conan. He seemed to have guessed that it was because of this child that these people couldn't see him.

"And I'm taking a long break after my graduation~." Kurokawa Saki smiled. "When there's time, I'll play at your house. I hope you don't mind."

"No, not at all. You're welcome, Sister Yuki!" Mouri Ran was excited when Kurokawa Saki said this.

After all, Kurokawa Saki rarely came to see them.

"Okay, I have to go now."

"Yes, bye, Sister Yuki!"

They all waved their goodbyes and Kurokawa Saki walked away calmly.

Conan was hiding behind Mouri Ran after greeting Kurokawa Saki because he still remembered this neighbor who rarely appeared.

"Who is this Hikari Yuki?" Kayama Ichiro asked.

"She's my neighbor and a few years older than us," Mouri Ran replied. "But if I'm not wrong, she studied overseas in the past few years, so we have no chance of meeting."
