Chapter 92 - Chapter 92 Suspected

"Boss, what do we do? These two are ruthless individuals!"

One of the mercenaries swallowed hard. Even if they hadn't seen much of the world, they recognized the two people in front of them.

Especially after the overthrow of the Akademiya, both of them received significant trust from the Grass God.

To be targeted by them was practically a death sentence.

"What are you afraid of? Attack!"

The leader gritted his teeth, intending to fight to the death.

But unfortunately, they encountered opponents they shouldn't have.

Cyno was as swift as lightning, appearing before one of the mercenaries in the blink of an eye.

His spear pierced through, splitting the body in two.

The leader, who had initially considered fighting, no longer had any thoughts of prolonged battle.

He snatched the canned knowledge, turned, and fled, leaving his subordinates to their deaths.

"Hey, Alhaitham, hurry and chase him! That guy is getting away!"

Kaveh, seeing the opponent escape, quickly called out to Alhaitham.

Alhaitham appeared before Kaveh in a blink, saying indifferently, "Your reminder is like a green leaf in the mountains."

Kaveh was stunned: "What does that mean?"

"It's dispensable."

As soon as he finished speaking, Alhaitham appeared before the leader.

This enraged Kaveh, who thought, 'How could he insult someone like that!'

Seeing Alhaitham's incredible speed, he knew the other party was definitely more formidable than rumored.

Fortunately, he had already prepared.

He took a bead from his waist and slammed it hard onto the ground.

Smoke filled the air, forcing Alhaitham to retreat.

By the time the smoke cleared, the leader had already escaped into the mountains.

It was clearly somewhat impossible to catch the other party at night.

Alhaitham frowned slightly, then turned to Kaveh and questioned, "Why are you here?"

Kaveh raised his head and said, "My inspiration ran dry tonight, can't I come out to find some inspiration?"

Alhaitham was truly too lazy to argue with him; after all, from a certain perspective, Kaveh couldn't really be considered wrong.

He just didn't know if it was his bad luck or Kaveh's, but his sudden appearance had completely disrupted his plans.

His sudden appearance rendered the element trap that he and Cyno had set up useless.

Looking at Cyno again, the dozen or so mercenaries had all been killed, not a single one remaining.

This gave Alhaitham an even bigger headache.

Now that there were no survivors, catching the person who escaped would be much more difficult.

Just as he was pondering the next steps, a scream suddenly came through.

"Ouch!"

He recognized it; it was the voice of the mercenary leader from earlier.

On the distant mountaintop, Xavier rubbed his head.

Aside from feeling a bit dizzy, he didn't feel much else.

"That's strange. Not at home late at night? Did someone come hiking?"

Xavier looked around, completely puzzled.

Even if this system was unreliable, it normally wouldn't teleport him too far away.

This meant that around this mountain, there must be the person he wanted to invite.

But when he looked down, where was any allogene character? Wasn't it just a small fry?

This mercenary leader was very unlucky; Xavier happened to fall and hit him.

Xavier also possessed the physique of an immortal, instantly knocking the other party unconscious, who was now seeing stars.

"Hey, wake up, who are you?"

Xavier frantically shook his collar, but he didn't respond no matter how much he shook.

"Wake up, wake up!"

Xavier said while slapping his face, trying to rouse his consciousness.

Indeed, heaven rewards those who try; with Xavier's persistent efforts, this mercenary leader finally woke up.

It was just a pity that he had looked somewhat human before, but now he was slapped into a pig's head.

"You…"

He looked up at Xavier, then fainted again from anger.

"That's strange. Even though this guy has a Vision, judging by his attire, he's just a small fry…"

Xavier scratched his head, becoming even more confused.

But just then, a figure suddenly appeared before him.

"Alhaitham!"

With that conspicuous white hair and muscular physique, Xavier instantly recognized the other party.

It turned out the person he invited was Alhaitham, not this pig-headed individual in front of him.

"You know me?" Alhaitham looked at Xavier, slightly surprised.

"It's an honor to meet you, an honor to meet you!"

Xavier was afraid the other party would become hostile towards him, so he didn't introduce himself immediately.

"We'll discuss this matter later. Thank you for helping us catch this criminal."

Alhaitham first thanked Xavier, then tied the mercenary leader up securely.

Xavier then understood that this guy was Alhaitham's target for capture.

In that case, he had inadvertently rendered a great service, hadn't he?

Following Alhaitham down the mountain, Xavier then noticed Cyno and Kaveh standing in the distance.

"What? You actually caught him and brought him back!"

Kaveh was dumbfounded, not expecting that even after running so far, Alhaitham had caught up.

Could it be that Alhaitham's strength had improved again?

"And this is…" Cyno asked, seeing the unfamiliar figure.

Alhaitham threw the mercenary leader onto the ground, then introduced, "This is Xavier. He helped us catch this person."

Kaveh circled Xavier once and said, "Judging by your appearance, you must be from Liyue, right?"

"Sort of, but there's a slight difference…"

Xavier didn't know how to explain it to them at the moment.

Perhaps it was out of a certain curiosity towards Xavier, or for other reasons.

Alhaitham invited Xavier back to Sumeru City to imprison the mercenary.

But after these matters were resolved, Alhaitham, who had been quite amiable, suddenly changed his expression.

"This outsider named Xavier, I think you lied to us, didn't you?"

He crossed his arms, his gaze fixed on Xavier.

It turned out that from the very beginning, he had not believed Xavier was a good person, but had remained suspicious.

Xavier realized he had been too naive. Alhaitham was such a smart and rational person; how could he believe his one-sided story?

"Friend, your appearance was too coincidental. This makes us have to suspect that you have other schemes."

Cyno, standing nearby, also showed vigilance, agreeing with Alhaitham's stance and thoughts.

"What? He lied?" Only Kaveh looked confused. "How come I didn't notice?"

Although being treated this way was quite disheartening, Xavier completely understood. After all, it was his own fault for running out late at night to invite someone.

Being stared at by the two of them, Xavier felt somewhat uncomfortable.

So, he pulled out his trump card—his phone!
