Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: Plans Can't Keep Up With Changes

Ask Tsunade to treat the Fourth Raikage?

Killer Bee, and even the top people of Kumogakure, didn't think this way.

Two big ninja villages are at war. Orochimaru, one of Konoha's Sannin, hurt the enemy, but another Sannin goes to treat him.

Just thinking about it shows how funny and unbelievable this is. How smart would someone have to be to think this would happen?

This was just a made-up, far-fetched reason for Orochimaru to leave the village. He mostly convinced Jiraiya by exaggerating the consequences of exposing his 'fear of blood,' making him worry too much for no reason.

Besides, the Fourth Raikage's injury wouldn't become incurable. It was just a kidney injury that needed time to heal. There was no need to risk Tsunade adding something extra during the treatment.

Instead of healing the Fourth Raikage's injury, Kumogakure had something more important to solve, which was the war threat from Iwagakure Village.

From the beginning, Kumogakure assumed that the Raikage's injury couldn't be kept secret.

Because Konoha had no reason to keep it secret.

Even if Konoha suffered heavy losses in the Nine Tails attack and didn't want to attack much, they would be happy to see other ninja villages fighting with Kumogakure.

So, exaggerating the Fourth Raikage's injury and even increasing troops on the Land of Thunder border to pressure Kumogakure with Iwagakure Village were just normal moves.

If this continued, Kumogakure would be pulled in two directions by Konoha and Iwagakure Village. If things went wrong, the situation where Konoha faced attacks from all ninja villages might happen in the Land of Thunder instead.

This would be a real case of trying to trick someone and ending up losing out.

Kumogakure admitted defeat, but refused to accept this future.

The Fourth Raikage needed a long time to heal, which ruled out their plan of pretending and holding on. These guys decided that since war was unavoidable, they would fight.

They would fight quickly, like Konoha had done before, by directly provoking Iwagakure Village to attack, and then focusing their strength to severely injure them.

Killer Bee convinced Gyuki to offer a tentacle and use the excuse of asking Konoha's Tsunade for treatment to show up in other ninja villages. This was also the reason.

"If I'm not wrong, you Kumogakure have completely given up defending the Land of Fire border."

Orochimaru licked his lips, his smile showing mockery. "That's really bold. Are you sure those two old guys are being careful and won't launch a large-scale attack?"

Even though he said this, Orochimaru had to admit that Kumogakure's plan had a good chance of succeeding. Even if Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura knew that the Land of Thunder's defenses were weak, they might not dare to attack decisively.

People become more cautious when they get old, only thinking about protecting their own little area. They don't care about making money, as long as they don't lose.

Watching from the sidelines and letting Kumogakure hit Iwagakure Village hard... that's what the two old guys would like.

The old man is the same way.

The former ninja hero is also getting old. Otherwise, why would he step down and choose a Fourth Hokage?

Kumogakure's Fourth Raikage, although he looks old, is only about seven or eight years younger than Orochimaru. He's really from the same generation of ninja as Minato and the others, and still has a spirit of energy and vitality... probably.

"Tsk tsk..." Orochimaru glanced at Killer Bee. "This plan is good, but you didn't execute it well. There are too many mistakes."

Killer Bee's heart skipped a beat when his village's plan was revealed, and when he heard this ridicule, he couldn't help but smile bitterly.

Plans can't keep up with changes!

He had planned to fight Tsunade in the Land of Sound, reveal his location, and then retreat. But he really didn't expect that as soon as he left the Land of Thunder, Iwagakure Village would find out and double the reward for Tsunade on the black market.

And the speed at which the bounty hunters acted, even chasing Tsunade, who was as famous as Orochimaru, all the way to the Land of Iron, was even more unexpected.

Not to mention that after rushing to the Land of Iron, he unexpectedly learned about 'Tsunade's fear of blood' from two S-rank runaway ninja.

Seeing this Konoha princess about to die at the hands of bounty hunters, Killer Bee was really struggling with whether to save her or not.

There was no doubt that the death of Konoha's Princess Tsunade would be a big deal in the ninja world, no less than the death of the previous Fourth Hokage.

Konoha would definitely launch a crazy revenge.

But the question was, who would Konoha choose to take revenge on?

The two S-rank runaway ninja who attacked? The mastermind behind the reward? Or the source of all this – Kumogakure?

In a flash, Killer Bee didn't have time to think carefully and acted decisively.

Kumogakure's actions against Iwagakure Village were based on the fact that the two Hokage advisors were old and hesitant, and that Konoha had no desire to attack other villages.

But if Tsunade, one of the Sannin, died, all of this would fall apart.

Killer Bee didn't dare to take this risk.

Presumably, Iwagakure Village's Tsuchikage Onoki wouldn't dare to take this risk either.

If he found out that Tsunade had a fear of blood and that the two S-rank runaway ninja almost succeeded, his blood pressure would probably skyrocket and burst, and he would be scared.

If they could get rid of this little old man as a result, these days wouldn't be wasted.

Killer Bee thought maliciously, planning to ask if Iwagakure Village would have a funeral for the Third Tsuchikage and if they needed a black strong man to carry the coffin. He could make a friendly appearance.

Of course, even if he saved Tsunade, he wouldn't let her return to Konoha. Instead, he would take her to the Land of Thunder.

He might not let her treat the Fourth Raikage, but using her as a hostage and a bargaining chip to force Konoha not to take the opportunity to attack the Land of Thunder would be excellent.

This was Killer Bee's improvisation, a supplement to the village's plan.

After all, relying entirely on the conservative actions of Konoha's leaders was too much of a gamble.

However, now that things had come to this, there was no point in saying anything more.

Killer Bee stared at Orochimaru, his face serious.

Apart from overwhelming power and straightforward plans, any other plan, no matter how useful, would become empty words and a waste of paper if it was discovered.

What's more, the person who figured out Kumogakure's plan was the man in front of him, who was different from the two Hokage advisors.

Right now, he could only return to the village as soon as possible to tell the village leaders about the failure of the plan.

Then, he would actively reveal his plan to ambush Iwagakure, which he had been preparing for a long time, and then move some troops back to the Land of Fire's defense line.

Although this would put the village in a situation of being slowly bled dry, it was better than being stabbed hard by Orochimaru.

"Wait a moment."

Judging from Killer Bee's actions that he was about to undo the shadow clone, Orochimaru suddenly spoke, stopping Killer Bee's actions,

"Seeing how upset you are, it seems like you're giving up on the plan to sneak attack Iwagakure. What, don't you want to talk to me?"
