Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: This Is My Thank You

Noelle's pulse quickened. She shifted slightly, leaning closer and he instinctively mirrored her, the space between them shrinking. Their hands brushed, a simple contact that sent sparks through them both.

Then, almost without thinking, Ren's other hand found her waist, drawing her flush against him. Their faces were close, breath mingling, hearts racing. He lowered his lips to hers and she responded, hesitantly at first, then with growing abandon. He deepened the kiss, hands roving over her back, pulling her impossibly closer, the heat between them overwhelming.

But then, with a shaky breath, Noelle tore her lips from his, her chest rising and falling in quick succession. She placed a hand on his chest, pushing gently but firmly. "I… I need to change," she whispered, her voice thick, her body still pressed against his.

Ren's hands hovered, reluctant to let go. His chest tightened with frustration, and desire darkened his gaze. "You can't just leave me like this," he rasped, his voice raw with need.

Noelle smirked, a sultry glint in her eyes as she placed her hand against his chest, her fingers tracing the outline of his muscles. "Maybe you'll have to learn some patience," she teased, the playful edge in her voice betraying the heat in her gaze.

Ren exhaled sharply, fighting to control the storm raging inside him. "I don't think I can," he muttered, voice thick with frustration. "You're killing me."

His eyes followed her, the curve of her shoulders, the deliberate sway of her hips, as she moved toward the door. Every step she took seemed to pull at him, a cruel, invisible tether tightening around his chest. His body still thrummed with the memory of her touch, every nerve alive and waiting, and his mind betrayed him with images of her and of what he wanted to do, of the ways he could devour her, lose himself in her, right now, in this very moment.

But Noelle didn't look back. Her hand rested on the door handle, the faintest smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. "I'll be right back," she purred, voice teasing but with an edge of promise.

Ren's voice was thick with need, strained with restraint. "You better not take too long,"

She glanced over her shoulder then, eyes dark with something that made his pulse stutter. That smouldering look was a spark thrown into tinder like a silent, knowing challenge that told him she knew exactly what she was doing to him.

Then she was gone.

The door clicked softly behind her, leaving Ren alone in the quiet. But it wasn't truly quiet, not with his blood roaring in his ears, not with the ghost of her scent still clinging to the air. The silence pressed down around him, thick and heavy, pulsing with the weight of everything unsaid and undone.

He raked a hand through his hair, pacing once, twice, before stopping, staring at the empty doorway. Desire still raged through him, wild and relentless, a storm he could neither calm nor escape. And beneath it all, simmering low and deep, was the thought that scared him most: he didn't just want her. He needed her.

Noelle emerged from the bedroom, the soft evening light catching the delicate black lace of her lingerie, tracing every curve and contour of her body with a golden glow. The lace hugged her body with maddening precision, revealing glimpses of soft pale skin that made his pulse quicken and his thoughts turn reckless. The lace shimmered faintly where it met her skin, a contrast of dark and light and he ached to follow those patterns with his hands, his lips but she stood just far enough away to make the distance unbearable.

The air itself seemed to shift around her, charged with heat and anticipation. Ren's breath caught as his eyes roamed over her, his thoughts scattering, his restraint hanging by a thread. Her lips curved into a faint, knowing smile, one that spoke of challenge and invitation in equal measure. And in that moment, under the soft glow of evening, Noelle was every temptation he'd ever tried to resist made real, standing before him wrapped in black lace and quiet fire.

She let her hands rest lightly at her sides, just shy of brushing his chest, and tilted her head, a teasing smile playing on her lips. Her voice was low, intimate, carrying a hushed warmth as she whispered, "Since you brought me to that surprise date… this is my thank you."

Ren's breath caught, his chest tightening as he took in the sight of her, the tender audacity of her gesture and the quiet, undeniable allure she radiated. Every detail from the softness of the fabric, the way it clung to her to the subtle sway of her movements was a message of trust, affection, and desire.

Noelle stepped closer, letting the faintest brush of her fingers trail along his arm, her eyes holding his, daring and playful, yet full of sincerity.

Ren stood unmoving for a heartbeat, eyes wide, chest tight. The words he wanted to say tangled in his throat, drowned out by the sight of her: the delicate lace, the subtle sway of her body, the quiet confidence in her gaze. He felt both exhilarated and completely unmoored, as if the world outside the room had vanished.

Noelle stepped closer, letting her hand lightly graze his chest, and tilted her head with a playful, bashful smile. Her voice was soft, teasing but warm. "You seemed to like it last time I wore something like this," she whispered, leaning just enough to let her hair brush against his shoulder. "I thought… maybe I'd try again."

Ren swallowed hard, finally finding a shaky breath. His hands twitched as if compelled to reach out, yet he hesitated, caught between restraint and the magnetic pull of desire. "Like? That's an understatement … you don't know how much I'm restraining myself just standing here," he murmured, voice low, rough with both awe and longing.

Noelle's lips curved into a small, mischievous smile. "I think I do," she said, letting her fingers linger on his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart. "And I think you like it more than you admit."

The room seemed to contract around them, each second thick with tension, unspoken words. Ren's gaze roamed her slowly, drinking in every detail, every curve, every subtle movement. In his mind, he was already imagining the countless ways he could take her, each one more consuming than the last. The thought made his chest tighten and his grip on her waist firm, as if holding her closer could somehow make those fantasies real, right here, right now. Every teasing glance from her, every playful smirk, only fueled the hunger coiling in him, reminding him, again and again, that she was entirely, maddeningly his in that moment.

Ren's gaze lingered on her longer than he probably should. His voice was low, rough around the edges, but the words were clear. "You're… sexy as hell. And I'm the only one who gets to see this."

Noelle's lips curved into a teasing smirk. "Oh really? Then I might just have to start wearing more… figure-hugging, sexy clothes from now on."

The smirk faded from her face as Ren stepped closer, his eyes darkening, almost predatory. "No. You won't be able to leave the house," he growled, the possessiveness in his tone leaving no room for argument. "Because if you do… I'll ravish you before you even think about stepping out."

Noelle shivered, not entirely from fear. She could feel the weight of his words, the promise behind them, and somewhere deep down, she loved that he wanted her all to himself.

Ren's hand cupped the back of her neck, pulling her into a kiss that was rough, hungry, almost violent in its intensity, as if he were battling the edge of his own control. Noelle gasped into him, heart racing, a thrill coursing through her at the fierceness of his desire.

When he finally pulled back slightly, just enough for her to catch her breath, she smirked mischievously. "Maybe I should dress like this more often… so I can look attractive for you when we're out."

Ren's eyes darkened, a flicker of panic threading through his possessiveness. "No," he murmured, tightening his grip around her waist. "People… they'll notice. They'll see how… how beautiful you are. And I… I can't have anyone looking at you like that but me."
