There was a silence for a while, where they just seemed to stare at each other.
Not knowing what to say after all of that…
Viktor was the first to glance away, but only because Julian had been looking at him like he could see straight through bone and into whatever Viktor tried to bury.
He needed space. Air. Something.
He had lived a long time, and he couldn't remember anytime he had felt so many emotions, he felt so young, giddy and unsure.
He hated it, it made him feel alive…
He took half a step back.
Julian turned to Rafael "this place looks so nice…so peaceful, what is it"
He looked around at the greenery and the chirping of birds. So serene.
"It was my Father's favorite place…he died here"
The pause after that was heavy in a different way.
Julian and Viktor could feel that that loss was an open wound…a deep one for Rafael and somehow they did not know their mate enough to offer him comfort for that.
