Lily was happy to see Emily smile. "I'm back, and I'm really hungry!" Emily said. Lucas laughed. "That's good!" he said.
Lily smiled too. "You're something else, Emily," she said. Emily giggled. "When you disappear and come back, you get hungry, okay?" The three friends laughed together.
As they went to the kitchen, Emily told funny stories. Lucas and Lily laughed. "I met a cat who talked," Emily said.
Lily giggled. "A talking cat? Really?" Emily nodded. "Yeah, his name was Whiskers. He was funny." Lucas chuckled, and they all laughed together.
The kitchen filled with yummy smells and laughter. Emily's return was happy, not scary. As they ate, Lily asked, "What happened to you?" Emily grinned. "I found a great pizza place."
