CRY, MY BELOVED

"I want to swallow you whole- "

Even if it meant acting out an outrageous lie. The only master who held the power to create, and destroy this utopia.

"-the moment you start flapping those wings."

In the days signaling a turn to horrors and unease,

Blinded is a future filled with love and peace.

"I pray you die with your sin of obscenity", she spat, " And I curse your corpse to be burnt on the day of the judgment !"

A benign butterfly flitting to and fro petal to petal, fluttering her golden wings with the briskness of the winds.

Wanting to soar high above in the blue skies and disappear in the silver linings, never to be found.

"If so", there was no remorse as he sneered in their mingling breath and body, "I hope your God asks you for forgiveness."

And a master, dying to shut her behind the shining gates of his bejeweled cage.

A hunter who loved to watch his prey suffer. One who tackled to death those bigger, and trampled to death under his feet the insignificant ones.

Such a madman enamored by its iridescence.

Gazing at the butterfly as if he couldn't take his eyes off her. His blood boiling at the sight of its rebellion.

As if his world would burn in anguish if he let her spread her wings.

So,

"And I pray, that you never forgive him."

He took them,

clipped them,

crushed them,

and tore them apart.

His perfect world,

all thrown away in the gutter,

all glory sabotaged for the sake of his yearning,

all shaken into insanity - thanks to the butterfly.

No hesitation, and regret could not touch him.

No regret, and apology was never born.

And when his beloved muse wished to fly far away even through the sole means of death,

The Man pronounced.

"I will burn you to ashes, and smear them with my blood. I would rather strangle you and then poison myself with my own two hands.

And then have you join in my grave with me."

In her death too, she could never fly away from the Aurelian.

"Even on the day of the great Judgment, I will curse your soul to be damned for each of my teardrop."

Even in death, she cursed his salvation to be damned.
