Chapter 98 - What time is it?

"Eh? A trip?"

Chika was startled, but somehow, she didn't hate the idea.

"Look at that TV show."

Following his words, Chika also watched a TV show about two comedians taking a random trip based on a roll of the dice, which piqued her interest.

To go to a far, random place where no one knew her, and she could feel relaxed.

"I-It's great! I want to take a trip!"

"Right?"

"But where?"

Yes, where?

"Let's do it randomly."

"Randomly?"

"Yup."

"How? Should I make a dice?"

"Er... isn't that troublesome?"

"Well..."

Taking a trip was troublesome, after all, so, if possible, they felt it was better to decide without much thought.

Also, it wouldn't be interesting to decide where to go, so like the TV show, which decided the destination of the trip by using the dice, Nifuji felt like Chika should do the same, but how?

Yes, this had nothing to do with him, but he felt that he had to take the responsibility for what he had said and also watch over her.

Why did he have to care for her so much?

Well, because he cared about her.

Wasn't that reason enough?

Even if they weren't lovers, their relationship was special as they had known each other for so long, and when he saw her so down that she wished to disappear, of course, he had to be by her side, even if he was busy, since that was what it meant for someone to be important.

Even if we know that helping them might not bring us any benefits, we still wish them not to be sad.

"Taking a trip..."

As expected, Chika was drawn to the idea and, as she had always done, she opened her smartphone as she wrote.

"...."

Nifuji was speechless, wondering what Chika was doing since it felt like they came from a different generation.

If he encountered a problem, he would be in a daze, sitting blankly as he stared at the distant scenery, but Chika would open her social media and write something for her status.

"...what are you doing?"

"Writing a questionnaire."

"Questionnaire? In Twitty?

"Yes!" Chika quickly nodded as she looked at Nifuji expectantly. "If the TV show used the dice, then I will use the questionnaire on Twitty and let my followers decide!

Yes, by using her followers, she would decide to take a trip at random in this country!

Her idea was good, and it was a novel idea, but—

"Do you have enough followers?" Nifuji asked.

"..." Chika.

Yes, Nifuji's words were cruel, but that's how it was, right?

After all, if Chika's followers on her Twitty were low, or even none, how could anyone answer her questionnaire?

As Chika was in a daze by his words, Nifuji took a peek at the number of followers on her Twitty, which was about just 35.

"...."

Nifuji was speechless, but he still comforted Chika. "Don't worry, I will answer the questioner too."

"Eh? Do you have a Twitty, Onii-chan?"

"I should be."

Did he have it?

Nifuji felt that he should have it as it was the easier way to register an online game account for the previous Nifuji, so by using the previous memory, he logged in on his account, then couldn't help but read at Chika's questionnaire for a moment, thinking that she was really a creator as it was so easy for her to play with words to create an interesting sentence.

---

It's time for me to hit the road! Which direction should I go from Tokyo?

1. To the north. 0%

2. Right. 0%

3. Left, of course. 0%

4. Downwards. 0%

---

"Hmm..."

In other words, whichever answer of the questionnaire had the most answers, that's where Chika would go.

"Onii-chan, what do you think?"

Chika wasn't someone who dwelled on the past, because if she were, she definitely wouldn't have become a mangaka, a job filled with instability.

If the mangaka made a lot of money and even a lot of royalties, then it was fine, but if one didn't, what would one do?

After all, time wouldn't wait for one, and everything had to be paid for, whether it was food, electricity, water, rent, or all other things.

Everything needs money!

So, instead of being a mangaka, most people would seek employment.

Regardless, Nifuji thought for a moment and gave his answer.

"Eh? North?"

Chika was surprised, then asked, "Why?"

"Why?" Nifuji took a moment of pause, then said, "Because I haven't been there."

Yup, his answer was as simple as that.

Most of his time, he stayed in Tokyo, and even if he left for somewhere, he would go downwards, where most of the big city was located, since unlike the southeastern area, the north area of this country was quite backward, and if he had to be cruel, it was a poor place.

Yes, the north had a poor economy, especially when it was so cold most of the time, and there wasn't an economic hub in the north, unlike Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.

More importantly, there were no huge companies there!

If a city wanted to grow, without a doubt, a company is necessary to boost the local economy, as in Nagoya, where the Toyota Group was enough to make this city one of the biggest in Japan.

Osaka and Tokyo, those two cities had no need to be discussed since they were the two biggest cities in the country, but north?

There was no such city, nor were there any huge companies that could boost the region like Toyota!

So, if there was a place that Nifuji was curious about, naturally, it was still in its most natural state, as the area had neither money nor the ability to develop, except to let it be as it was.

Still, without a doubt, if one wanted to see the history, the past, then the north was definitely the location.

"That's why I chose the north."

At the same time, Nifuji felt like he wanted to develop a business, and the north was the best since there was still no boss in the area, and his family also lived in the north area, which was why he was interested in the north.

'But let's keep it a secret.'

After all, if he said too much, it would seem like he was boasting, making him appear to be so proud, even though he had achieved nothing.

The system?

Well, he wondered whether it was okay for him to boast about something that he got from the system, as he knew well that even if everything came from the result of his "hard work," it was kind of strange if he felt proud of everything he gained from the system somehow.

"..." Chika.

She blinked her eyes when she heard Nifuji's reason, but inwardly, she had hoped for the result to be the north.

"Then, I will go home now."

"Eh?"

Nifuji, who was about to get up, looked at Chika strangely and asked, "Do you want me to stay with you here?"

"....." Chika.

She wanted to say that it was okay, but they weren't young anymore, so she knew that it was impossible, especially when she knew that Nifuji had a girlfriend.

"Don't worry. This is just a rainy day before the sunny day. It's normal that everything isn't going to go according to your wish, but as long as you keep trying, I know that you can achieve what you wish."

"But... what if it won't end as I wish?"

"If that's the case, then you might be led into a different way since what you wish might not be the best for you, yet that's not what you want, right? I can tell that you want to keep trying, and I will pray for the best for you, so do your best, okay?"

As Nifuji rubbed Chika's head, he was about to kiss her forehead, but he was startled by what he was about to do. Before he sighed inwardly, thinking that he was such a bastard.

"Then, I will go back first."

If he continued to stay, he was afraid that he might end up seducing Chika.

Yup, that wasn't good at all!

"Ah, um, yes! Be careful, Onii-chan!"

Nifuji smiled, then excused himself, but Chika, who had watched him leave, was in a daze.

D-Did he try to kiss me?

On that night, Chika couldn't sleep!

Yet, for Nifuji, who had slept so soundly, was awoken by a simple chat from Chika.

"ONII-CHAN, WHAT SHOULD I DO?!"

"...."

Nifuji blinked his eyes as he looked at the time.

"...what time again is it?"
