Chapter 39 - Chanis is wrong. Do you want to become the new clan leader?

For Keare, using the Optimization skill to alter memories was an entirely new experience, even in the Dungeon or Familia world.

It still gave him a strong sense of déjà vu, like a "Hypnosis * Guidance" series!

He made adjustments one after another until all memories of tracking Liliruca and their encounter in the Dungeon were erased from these Adventurers' minds, and then he reshaped their personalities.

After doing all that, he also healed their injuries.

Keare chose to sit directly on the ground, the feeling of mental exhaustion was incredibly strong; this high-intensity magic usage environment was indeed very tiring.

Facing Liliruca's worried gaze, he said calmly:

"Next…"

"Just follow my arrangements."

"Okay."

Although Liliruca didn't know how Keare had tampered with their memories, the effect of the Recovery magic undoubtedly refreshed her understanding.

Broken arms and limbs could be perfectly healed!

As a low-level supporter, the only person she could think of was Amid, the one known as the "Battlefield Saintess," but could she really do something to this extent?

Absolutely not!

Liliruca knew of quite a few Adventurers who had been injured and crippled in the Dungeon, and if they knew Keare had the ability to heal...

She couldn't imagine what would happen.

Noticing Decrees gradually showing signs of waking up, the girl looked up: "He's waking up soon."

"You mean…"

"That bastard Chanis has always been controlling us with divine wine, making us work for him in the Dungeon, but the divine wine is actually very cheap?"

"The chaotic environment of the Familia was also caused by him!"

His consciousness fully returned.

Decree sat on the ground with a bewildered expression, looking at Liliruca, the supporter in the Familia, and Keare, that extremely unfamiliar new face.

He kept sorting through his thoughts.

"We came to the Dungeon because Chanis ordered us to kill Liliruca, who threatened his tyrannical rule and could break the divine wine's control!"

"That's right."

"That's how it is."

As the main person in charge of the incident, Keare's attitude was exceptionally serious. He surveyed the many Adventurers, constantly giving his assessment of Chanis.

"As Adventurers."

"We came to Orario to make a name for ourselves, not to become tools in someone else's hands. Do you want to continue being addicts of divine wine?"

"…"

Decree shook his head decisively.

In his memory, the humble scenes of him and his team painstakingly exploring the Dungeon to earn valis and then buying divine wine from Chanis were vivid.

Spending all their savings, their lives were exceptionally miserable.

Having lost the divine wine's control, he really didn't want to go back to that kind of life, and he felt an indescribable gratitude towards Liliruca, who had helped him break free from the divine wine's control.

It was clear that this matter alone wouldn't make Decree a helper.

Keare's expression was quite solemn: "Liliruca can not only break the divine wine's control, but we also found… clues that can overthrow Chanis's control of the Familia."

"But time is too pressing…"

"We don't have the help of other Adventurers yet, and we also have to face the Familia's pursuit. I'm afraid there won't be enough time to gather all the clues to overthrow Chanis, the Captain."

Overthrowing Chanis's rule over the Soma Familia.

Just hearing this, Decree couldn't help but exchange glances with his teammates. On this matter, they seemed like brown hyenas sniffing out blood.

He finally looked at Keare.

The young man's handsome face, the unwavering resolve in his eyes couldn't be faked. Crucially, he told them such important information and wasn't worried about them betraying him.

Keare might not have lied to him!

Decree suppressed the ecstasy in his heart, his eyes gleaming: "We will help you."

"What do you need us to do?"

"I need you to continue pursuing us and not let other Adventurers get involved in this turmoil. If other Adventurer teams do intervene."

Keare's attitude was serious: "Tell us the information in advance!"

"If possible, Liliruca can also help other Adventurers completely escape Chanis's divine wine control and unite the Familia completely."

"I will."

Other things aside.

The blueprint Keare simply outlined, even if only in its initial form, was incredibly appealing to Decree. Overthrowing Chanis's rule.

Who would fill the vacant positions of Captain and Vice Captain?

As for the latter half of the sentence, he completely chose to ignore it. There were only two vacant positions. If other Adventurers joined, could he still take over smoothly?

Liliruca could even help all Familia members break free from the divine wine's control, further solidifying the accuracy of the event.

Decree thumped his chest, his tone righteous and stern: "Helping you is not just about overthrowing Chanis's tyrannical rule over the Familia."

"It's also about proving that Chanis is wrong!"

"We know what to do next. Try to buy you as much time as possible. Tell Chanis that Liliruca is with the Adventurer team."

"We won't be able to find an opportunity to act for a while!"

"Hmm."

"Remember, don't get controlled by the divine wine again. If Chanis asks you, just say you haven't saved enough money yet."

The memory alteration was very successful.

At least for a short time, there was no need to worry about being tracked by the Soma Familia's Adventurers. As his mental energy gradually recovered, Keare slowly stood up from the ground.

Watching Decree and the others leave, Liliruca, as a member of the Soma Familia, felt quite conflicted. Their past oppression was like an unshakeable nightmare, but Keare's special method of memory erasure and alteration.

Could it make them stand on the same front?

To be honest, if Keare was willing, he could completely use this method to prop up puppets to control the Soma Familia, becoming the hidden manipulator.

She was very aware of the turmoil such a method would cause in Orario.

Although Keare hadn't mentioned it, Liliruca knew what arrangements awaited her. She looked up at the smiling, yet cold, young man.

Her voice was devoid of emotion:

"Next…"

"Is it my turn?"

"Knowing so many of your secrets, if it were me, I would definitely use memory alteration. That would be the safest move for you, wouldn't it?"

"Theoretically, yes."

Mastering the memory alteration method of the Optimization skill could completely erase all memories and then, according to preference, DIY the personality of a beautiful girl.

But in Keare's opinion, such behavior was meaningless.

A beautiful appearance is certainly important, but an interesting soul is equally so. Even if the beautiful girl's personality inevitably has flaws, only then.

Are they, to him.

Truly existent in the real sense, otherwise, what's the difference from a doll?

Keare looked at Liliruca, who had completely accepted her fate. He said directly: "But you don't need to think so much, because in this transaction of ours."

"From the very beginning, you had to bet everything as the price!"
