Cherreads

Chapter 18 - Explosion

Boom.

Shockwaves ripple. Flames spark. The slashes of fire collide, both pushing. Both proving who is stronger.

"First time I seen his mana as a slash. It makes me get a bit excited"

Karu mutters, smiling as he watches the chief glare as he stretches his hand forward.

"Just remember it's a test of mana" the chief warns. A mist of energy coils from his hand, surging into the flaming slash.

Karu's eyes narrow, tracking the growing wave.

"If that hits…" he thinks. "Then I'm finished."

Karu breathes deeply. "But it's the same for you too, chief. So the question is…" A red mist snakes from his hand, merging with the slash. "Who's gonna die first".

The chief chuckles, eyes flicking over the swirling energy.

"Now let's get even stronger" he says, mist wrapping around his body as he leans into the clash.

Karu nods, pushing his hand titling his hand towards the chief, meeting the attack with steady force.

The red mist coils tightly around his slash pressing the chief's slash backwards. "I'm winning this" he thinks.

He locks eyes with his father, jaw set, gaze flaring like stone. Karu grunts, pushing his hand forward. The chief gaspd but immediately does the same mana oozing out of their body as if its being sucked by a vaccum.

However with both their efforts theirs only one winner. And one person will die. "Just one more push" Karu says, pushing his hand forward, ultimately pushing the chief slash back as well.

The chief grits his teeth, his hair blowing as the slash comes even closer.

"I guess we found out who's stronger huh" Karu. says, staring down the raging chief.

The chief looks down at the ground, squinting his eyes in annoyance.

"My son. Beat me? That's just ludicrous" the chief thinks, eyes glowing red as he looks up.

"I won't lose to you Karu. Even if it means to change the game to my own advantage. Evem if I'll kill you with blood on my hands. I won't lose"

The chief vanishes out of no where, the giant slash exploding, blowing up the terrain. Karu gaspd, covering his head as the snow piles up on him. "What happened" Karu says, looking around frantically for his father.

The chief sits on a branch, thinking of what he'll have to do.

"I wanted you to die quietly. I wanted it to seem like an accident to reduce the guilt. But now I'll have to do with my fists". The chief looks up at the sky. A tear drops.

"I'm sorry Hana. But this is for you". The chief disappears.

Raw better?
