Chapter 245 - Criminal Reserves

At the venue, following Bai Ye's remarks, the atmosphere fell into an awkward silence.

Looking at the calm, utterly matter-of-fact young man, no one knew how to respond.

Mainly because Bai Ye's actions had been highly deceptive.

He had appeared when humanity was at a disadvantage in the war, then easily defeated the Amazons and Atlantis, dismantling their key armaments.

Coupled with his human appearance, even Diana and Arthur had assumed Bai Ye stood on humanity's side.

But Bai Ye did not see it that way. From the very beginning, he had placed himself in the position of a "god."

His stance was simply Bai Ye's own. He did not show favoritism because of humans, mutants, or any race or ethnicity.

He wanted to maintain peace because of Barry Allen—not because of humanity.

He slept with Gwen Stacy because he liked her and desired her body—not because she was human.

If it had been Rogue, a mutant, or Camilla, a vampire, the same conditions met, he would have done the same.

A god is impartial and selfless—just as Bai Ye's current actions were.

If he had any preference at all, it was to stand from the position of the strong to protect the weak.

Because humans were the weak side in this three-way war, Bai Ye, as a god, would protect them and promote peace.

But he could not stand by and let Atlantis and the Amazons—who were relatively stronger—be humiliated by the human side simply because of his intervention.

Protecting sheep from wolves was already overturning the natural order.

If sheep then used the shepherd's power to bully and exterminate the wolves, Bai Ye had only one response: "Why should I allow that?"

You couldn't win on your own, and now you rely on my protection to avoid extinction—that's one thing. But how do you have the face to sign a victor's treaty?

You didn't win this with your own ability.

Thus, Bai Ye stared at Cyborg and said, "I've made it very clear. Peace. Do you understand?"

Silence. A deathly silence fell over the humans present, unable to accept that the victory in their hands was being given up.

They had thought they could use this opportunity to explore the two races' technology and magic to strengthen themselves.

Diana and Arthur, on the other hand, were pleasantly surprised. They had expected harsh terms—never that there would be none.

After a moment, Cyborg coughed lightly. "We understand your meaning. We will revise the treaty and restore relations on equal terms."

"By the way, your friend Mr. Barry has arrived. Would you like to speak with him?" Cyborg added, trying to ease the atmosphere.

Bai Ye nodded and was led away.

With his departure, the atmosphere hit freezing point. Their schemes had been shattered, and the earlier harmony was gone.

Some even began thinking about tearing up the treaty after Bai Ye left.

Bai Ye would only laugh at that.

If humans fought the two races alone, the outcome would be the same as before—a crushing defeat.

In a lounge, Barry Allen waited patiently. When the door opened, he saw Bai Ye enter.

"I've fulfilled the promise I made you. Remember to preserve everything in this timeline," Bai Ye said. "We'll meet again if there's a chance."

"You're leaving? Already?" Barry asked.

"Of course. What's the point of staying? What fun can you provide?" Bai Ye replied, leaving Barry silent.

"Oh, and awakening the Speed Force is fine—just stop time traveling," Bai Ye added.

He opened a panel, pressed "Return," and vanished, leaving the DC universe.

With Bai Ye gone, Barry realized a serious problem:

How was he supposed to explain Bai Ye's disappearance?

Thinking of the troubles ahead, Barry sighed.

Looking down, he noticed a newly bound book on the table: Everyone Can Practice 4.0.

Curious, Barry picked it up.

After flipping through it, his heart pounded violently—inside was an ability that could resurrect the dead.

Which meant his father, Bruce, and the hundred million who had died in Europe… all had hope of rebirth?

Barry's hands trembled.

Standing on Marvel's Earth, Bai Ye looked into the empty villa.

Camilla and the others were not there.

After all, once away from Bai Ye, they had their own lives, emotions, and daily routines. They were not servants waiting endlessly for his favor.

Standing before the blinds, Bai Ye scanned the city. Some people already wore collars around their necks, wandering the streets.

Clearly, New York—his capital city—was the first pilot zone.

Within days, these "safety collars" would spread across the planet.

Scratching his head, Bai Ye realized he was suddenly idle.

Unlike other protagonists, he was too powerful and too domineering. The plot could not continue.

Theoretically, this should have been the time for Iron Man 3. But with global unification, terrorist groups had all reformed into harmless performers.

The Mandarin, Extremis—none of it warranted attention from Stark, the world leader. The storyline fizzled out.

With SHIELD and Hydra gone, Captain America 2, 3, and Avengers 2 were also impossible to trigger.

A strange emptiness crept over him.

But the world was at peace. No geopolitical conflict.

What should I do next?

Looking at the bustling city, Bai Ye made a decision.

He needed something to do.

Ten minutes later, in the White House, Tony Stark's phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, his expression turned serious—Bai Ye never called for small matters.

Nearby, Future Stark noticed.

After settling on this Earth, Future Stark—also a genius with years of technological accumulation—had become Tony's deputy.

"Bai Ye, what's the matter?" Stark asked.

"Tony, I'm bored. Got nothing to do. How many criminals do we still have in prison reserves?" Bai Ye asked lazily.
