Chapter 92 - Ashes to Ashes

Inside the military base, usually heavily guarded with soldiers, bodies were scattered everywhere.

Stryker instinctively reached out to steady himself against a wall, his breathing slightly quickened as he stared at the terrifying man before him. The Person in Charge beside him had already collapsed to the ground, his legs trembling in fear.

From the moment they detected the man's intrusion to the present, it hadn't even been four minutes. In just over two hundred seconds, the entire base's defenses had been utterly crushed, unable to mount any meaningful resistance.

"The Sentinels…failed too?" Stryker asked, his voice filled with despair. He hadn't expected the robots he'd devoted so much effort to researching to be defeated in less than two minutes by this man.

"You mean those robots?"

"I have to say, Stryker, you're not bad. You actually developed those machines. They forced me to get a little…rough. It took some effort to take care of them."

Bai Ye smiled slightly. The wounds on his body were constantly writhing, healing at a visible rate. His restored appearance shocked Stryker.

"Bai…Bai Ye!" Stryker shouted in disbelief. "You weren't in New York…"

Midway through his sentence, remembering the other's speed, he stopped, his face turning ashen.

"Why did you target me? Where did I slip up?" Stryker asked, confused.

No matter how he thought about it, he and Bai Ye had no connection. They hadn't even spoken before, and he didn't understand why Bai Ye would come after him.

"You think this is a TV show? Why would I tell you the truth directly? And don't bother struggling; your recordings won't go anywhere."

Bai Ye smiled, revealing a mechanical structure in his hand: a signal jammer he had cobbled together from materials scavenged from inside the base.

"Heh heh heh..." Stryker laughed self-deprecatingly, looking at Bai Ye. "Who would have thought the founder of Inner Strength was a Mutant, and your strength is so terrifying. Those people in Congress should have listened to me and eliminated all Mutants long ago."

Bai Ye didn't expect that even on the brink of death, the other man would still be fixated on Mutants. It left him speechless; he was truly a Mutant fanatic.

"There are only two ordinary humans left in the entire base, so I'd like to know about the Sentinel robots. That shouldn't be something you could have created with your current capabilities, right?"

Bai Ye asked the question that was currently on his mind; he was truly wary of those Sentinel robots created across time and space.

Before, he had thought that the human government didn't have much strength at the moment. However, they had secretly been working on something so huge.

Compared to the current Sentinels, Tony Stark's Iron Man armor in the near future was nothing. Even a bare-handed Thanos would get slapped twice.

"I'll give you the same words back. Do you think I'd tell you, you mutant trash?"

Stryker sneered, "I sent out the information about your mutant identity that you've been painstakingly concealing a while ago. Your information is probably already spreading like wildfire across the entire network."

"And you're from New York, right? With a movement speed exceeding Mach 3, and making such a big commotion, the satellites in the sky have already locked onto you."

"They now know almost everything about you."

"Oh, and so what if they guessed?" Bai Ye shrugged, a smile appearing on his face.

"Not everyone has faith as unwavering as yours, Colonel Stryker. Who would want to offend a Superman? Besides, the second and third sets of techniques are still in my possession, and they'll be willing to cooperate with me."

"More importantly, they'll soon be too preoccupied to do anything but cooperate with me."

Bai Ye walked towards Stryker step by step. Under the other man's tense gaze, he gently gripped his shoulder and pressed down hard.

In an instant, and in The Person in Charge's horrified gaze, Stryker exploded, turning into a cloud of blood mist that clung to the hallway wall behind him.

The Person in Charge collapsed in the hallway, half his body soaked in blood, completely stunned and unable to react.

Bai Ye smiled and squatted down, looking at the somewhat dazed middle-aged man. "I believe in his unwavering faith, so I had to turn him to ashes. What about you? Do you also want to remain loyal to Stryker?"

As he spoke, Bai Ye gently placed his right hand on The Person in Charge's clean left shoulder. The moment of contact, The Person in Charge thought of the hand that had turned Stryker into a blood mist. His body trembled like a sieve.

"As long as you obediently tell me everything I want to know, I'll allow you to be the only pure human being who survives in this base."

"Otherwise, I can't imagine how I would torture you."

Bai Ye spoke, slowly beginning a countdown.

"Three… two…"

When he reached two, Bai Ye's right hand suddenly exerted force, instantly crushing The Person in Charge's shoulder blade to dust.

"Aaaaaah!" The Person in Charge let out a scream like a slaughtered pig, then writhed on the ground in agony.

"Sorry, sorry, I got a little carried away in the heat of the moment, thinking about my Mutant identity being exposed," Bai Ye said with a shy smile, apologetically supporting The Person in Charge's body.

"As compensation, I'll start over, three…"

"I'll talk, I'll talk!" Tears and snot streamed down The Person in Charge's face as he painfully said, "Nuclear bomb, in three minutes, a nuclear bomb with a yield of 10,000 tons of TNT will strike here, killing everyone."

"Excellent answer, I won't kill you for now," Bai Ye nodded, then, thinking of something, said apologetically:

"Sorry, I forgot something again. Professor X should be in this base. We can just use him to search your soul once he regains consciousness. I'm such an idiot, getting you all injured."

Without looking at The Person in Charge's darkening expression, Bai Ye immediately activated the Void Space and sucked him in.

Suddenly being pulled into a dim space, The Person in Charge was startled, but what he saw next was even more terrifying.

He saw five Sentinel robots, their bodies clad in Adamantium, now lifeless and standing motionless before him.

At the same time, the arms of these five Sentinels were in the form of sharp blades, forming a circle and stabbing into each other's bodies.

Scattered all around were the internal components of their bodies, obviously ripped out by Bai Ye through the openings.

The Sentinels in front of The Person in Charge were now empty shells, made only of Adamantium, with nothing inside.

The Person in Charge had been wondering how Bai Ye dealt with the Sentinels. It turned out he used the Adamantium arms of the Sentinels to pierce through their own Adamantium bodies.

Watching the five Sentinels, completely destroyed before him, The Person in Charge helplessly clutched his wound and collapsed to the ground, utterly defeated.
