Chapter 85 - Self-Created Martial Arts

The scene was electric. The frenzied crowd spontaneously surrounded the building, creating an impenetrable barrier. Traffic within a kilometer radius was at a standstill.

Bai Ye's appearance had sent the atmosphere into overdrive.

Before today, many of these people hadn't even been particularly religious.

But now, they all gazed at Bai Ye with the fervor of fanatics. Some even knelt, worshipping him.

It was easy to imagine that if Bai Ye were to raise his arms now, he could potentially start a large religion with a considerable global following.

"Bai Ye! Bai Ye! Bai Ye!"

The cheers shook the heavens, everyone chanting his name. But Bai Ye didn't respond, simply observing them, much like a teacher watching a noisy class.

Gradually, as Bai Ye ignored them, the noise diminished, fading into nothingness.

"Thank you all for your support." Seeing that things had finally quieted down, Bai Ye smiled slightly. "However, your support should be based on not violating laws and order."

"Because of your arrival, neither vehicles nor pedestrians can pass through the area. What you need to do now is calm down and go home to be a useful member of society."

After speaking, Bai Ye scanned the reporters present and singled out a female reporter carrying live-streaming equipment. "Excuse me, miss, do you have some time in the next two hours?"

"Ah, are you talking about me?" The female reporter, carrying the camera, felt a little flustered, but under Bai Ye's encouraging gaze, she nodded firmly. "Of course, I have time. What do you want me to do?"

"Since I'm advising them to be useful members of society, I naturally have to set an example." Bai Ye said righteously, "So, I want to initiate a challenge."

"A challenge?"

"In the next two hours, I will strike against any criminal activity in New York." Bai Ye looked at the female reporter. "And if you don't mind, could I ask your camera to follow me throughout?"

"Of course, I don't mind." The female reporter nodded quickly. Her editor's stern orders had already come through her earpiece; if she messed this up, she could expect to be fired.

"Thank you very much for your cooperation."

Bai Ye smiled slightly, looking at Director George, who had just rushed down the stairs. "Director, I'll leave the rest of these people to you. Remember to clean up the battlefield after I've finished fighting crime."

"Me? What me?"

George, who had just come downstairs, looked bewildered. But the next moment, Bai Ye waved his hand gently. Amidst the female reporter's exclamations, inner energy enveloped the reporter, and in the eyes of everyone, he soared into the sky.

"Did he say anything just now?" George, who had just come down and didn't know anything, looked at the police officers securing the scene, puzzled.

Because of Bai Ye's departure, the crowd that had gathered at the scene soon dispersed, preparing to watch Bai Ye's figure again through the live broadcast.

In the high altitude of a thousand meters, Bai Ye used his inner energy to protect the reporter as they soared through the air, focusing a large amount of his senses on the hearing he had previously ignored.

Previously, Daredevil's 2.9 mental attribute allowed him to conjure images of his surroundings in his mind using only sound. Bai Ye's abilities were now even more terrifying.

The sound of blood flowing, the heartbeat, breathing, walking, even blinking.

In an instant, every sound within several kilometers was clearly transmitted to his ears, analyzed by his brain, and its source pinpointed.

"Found it!" Bai Ye's gaze instantly locked onto a single direction. He brought his hands together, and between his palms, a purple ball of energy the size of a dragon's eye was constantly contracting and expanding.

"Mr. Bai, what is this?" The feeling of walking on air at a high altitude allowed the reporter to gradually adapt, and he then asked Bai Ye curiously.

"According to the different flow of inner energy between different meridians, matching them together can make the true qi, which is released or added to oneself, exhibit different effects of moves."

"So, in theory, by exhaustive experimentation, one can discover the best martial arts in all aspects."

Bai Ye said calmly to the live broadcast, "This move is my own creation. I'll call it Eighteen Subduing Dragons."

As his voice fell, Bai Ye suddenly pushed his palms forward. The purple sphere in his palms exploded, emitting a high-pitched dragon roar, and transformed into eighteen streams of purple light that flew in all directions.

On the street, a man clutched an expensive bag tightly in his hand, running desperately forward.

Behind the man, a woman shouted, trying to call for help.

Seeing the man running further and further away, a streak of light descended from the sky the next moment, striking the man's back instantly. The terrifying force exploded his vest in an instant, pushing him to the ground.

By the time the woman who had her bag stolen reacted, the man was already unconscious, vomiting blood.

And such incidents happened simultaneously within a few kilometers around. Eighteen streaks of light, unleashed from Bai Ye's hand, accurately brought the surrounding crimes to justice.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Hearing the continuous explosions below, Bai Ye looked at the bewildered female reporter and said, "The security in the city center is still pretty good. The crimes in this area have been completely cleared. Let's go to Brooklyn next."

"Oh, okay." The female reporter nodded, and the next moment, Bai Ye pulled her toward Brooklyn.

In the past two hours, the entire criminal underworld of New York had been hit with a devastating blow. Over three hundred serious crimes were wiped out in just half an hour.

The speed of the operation was so rapid and indiscriminate that even some of Kingpin's men were taken down, leaving Kingpin speechless when he learned of the news later.

Two hours later, Bai Ye, having passed the time, politely bid farewell to the female reporter, who was reluctant to part and wanted to exchange contact information. His figure transformed into an afterimage and vanished from the live broadcast.

Meanwhile, on the way back to the academy, Jean Grey and Professor X were ambushed by Stryker's subordinates and rendered unconscious by a flashbang. They were being secretly transported to a military base.

A day later, Charles woke up from his coma and saw a middle-aged man smiling at him.

"Charles, we meet again." Stryker greeted Charles gently. "When was the last time we met? Oh yes, it was when you refused to treat my son."

"Stryker? You captured me," Professor X immediately realized what had happened, his expression turning grim.

At this moment, he tried to use his mental abilities, but discovered a metal helmet on his head, isolating his mind and preventing him from projecting his powers.

"Don't bother trying. The helmet the Soviets made back then was indeed quite good at suppressing telepaths."

Stryker said, arms crossed, brimming with confidence. "Now, I'm going to treat you to a show."

"A show of what?"

"Why, of your mutants assassinating the president, right in front of everyone's eyes."
