Stepping out of the building, the cool night air hit Willow's face, clearing the haze of adrenaline that still clung to her. She was expecting Xenia to follow beside her but the sound of footsteps suddenly stopped.
Willow turned. "Xenia?"
At her voice, Ezrik and Isaak halted too, their attention shifting to the girls.
Xenia stood still under the flickering streetlight, her shoulders trembling as she let out a quiet sigh. "Thank you," she said softly, meeting Willow's eyes. "This is where we part ways."
Willow hesitated before smiling gently. "Take care of yourself, okay?"
Xenia nodded, her lips curling into a faint smile. "You too." She gave Willow one last look, then turned her gaze to the two men. "And… goodbye."
She waved shyly as Ezrik only stared at her, while Isaak lifted a hand and waved back with an easy grin.
Xenia's smile faded, then she turned away, hurrying down the dark street until her figure melted into the shadows.
