Chapter 78 - That Must Have Hurt.

"It's time," Willow muttered under her breath, pushing her back off the wall.

For hours, the rapid footsteps passing by the door were the only sounds breaking the silence, echoing faintly through the metal walls.

Willow had been keeping track of time, and she knew it was already nightfall. 9 p.m. sharp. And just as Xenia had said, that's when the fights began.

She glanced down at the girl asleep beside her. Xenia looked calmer now, her breathing steady, her face less pale than before but Willow knew that calm would vanish soon.

She rose to her feet, the faint scuff of her boots against the metal floor waking Xenia. The girl blinked, sleep-blurred eyes widening as she saw Willow standing by the door.

"Are you planning to break it down?" Xenia asked, rubbing her eyes as she pushed herself upright.

Willow pressed her palm flat against the cold steel surface, feeling its weight and temperature. "I don't think I can."
