The tension in the car finally began to fade. The laughter and warmth from dinner slowly returned.
They talk again about dinner, Eleanor's unforgettable cooking, and how Andrew kept teasing Axel about his childhood frog experiments.
Axel tried to deny the story, but Evelyn refused to let him off easily.
"I still can't believe you tortured frogs," she teased.
"I was a six-year-old and remarkably inquisitive kid," he protested.
"Still..." She laughs.
"Oh, wait until I meet your grandparents. I will ask them to expose you," he playfully teased.
Instantly, Evelyn's laugh faded.
"Alright, alright, I won't mention the frog incident again." She realizes it's best not to bring up the topic in their conversation.
