Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Sacred Spirit Contract Talisman

Richard suddenly remembered the game he played before he transmigrated.

The game let him play a Contractor, who kept taming all kinds of strong contract beasts in a chaotic world to save the world.

A Contractor was not the same as jobs that just controlled pets to fight. He could get feedback from pets he Contracted, and his own fighting power was much stronger than the pets!

He just didn't know if the talent he awakened now was the same as in the game.

"No matter what, this God-Tier talent should be stronger than the legendary S-rank talent, right."

"And it's the only one."

Richard's voice was full of joy.

More messages popped up in front of his eyes.

[God-Tier Talent: Contractor]

[Description: A crazy talent born when unknown power joined with a soul from another world. It is one of a kind! This talent cannot be detected! Cannot be copied! Cannot be made useless!]

[Effects:1, the host can gain power by Contracting anything. Each time the host Contracts one unit, he gets an extra talent as feedback. The extra talent's quality is set by the Contrcted unit. Also, each time the Contracted unit's power goes up, the host gets power feedback. When the talent rises, the talents the host got by Contract will also rise in quality.

2, The Contracted unit will have the highest loyalty to the host and will never betray. The host can order the Contracted unit to do anything, and the host can decide if the Contracted unit lives or dies.

3, A Contractor can sense the Contracted unit's future path and potential. The host can get a special training plan for the Contracted unit, and can help the Contracted unit raise fighting power and talent quality.]

"This... what a strong talent!"

Richard was stunned just by the first line of his talent.

He could get extra talents from the Contracted units! And every time a Contracted unit got stronger, it would send power back to him!

That was crazy!

Everyone in this world could only have one talent, but Richard could have as many talents as the number of units he Contracted!!

Just from this, his future potential was beyond all players.

Also, other people got talents by luck, but Richard's Contracted units were not about luck. He picked them himself.

That means he could have countless S-rank talents in theory!

Even scarier, when combined with the third part of the talent.

"Huh?"

"So urgent?"

"And even though it's a gift, I still have to do a little operation?"

Richard froze for a second, but he didn't hesitate. He got ready to follow the system's tips.

He stood up at once and walked toward the edge of the playground.

Training wasn't over yet, and that middle-aged the instructor blocked his way.

"Uh, the instructor."

Richard was just about to explain a couple of things.

But the middle-aged man looked very serious.

"It's fine if you give up."

The the instructor in a uniform sighed: "Richard, even if you can't awaken talents, your life is just starting."

A few students nearby looked very guilty, especially the one who bad-mouthed Richard during training just now.

"We were just talking nonsense before, don't take it to heart."

"Actually, the one I admire the most in our class is you. In all kinds of training, you always stick with it the longest."

"Richard, I'm really sorry, but I believe hard work pays off. Maybe you can awaken a talent."

...

The classmates were clearly a bit flustered.

In daily life, they did respect someone like Richard, who was super hard-working and serious.

Now it seemed what they said earlier really hit Richard hard, and made this guy who never skipped training leave halfway.

These teens felt like they would wake up at midnight to slap themselves—

Why did you talk so much?

They looked at Richard's calm face and all filled in the blanks in their heads—

The boy already hid huge pain and sadness in his heart.

Richard: "..."

He was a bit confused. He wasn't training anyway. He could just go. Why were they reacting so much?

"Go on, go on."

Before Richard could respond, the instructor waved his hand, like he had made up his mind.

Richard: "..."

He was a bit speechless, and he rushed to the library.

On the playground, the instructor took out his phone and quickly typed a text.

"Old Joseph, remember that student I told you about? Save me that spot with the Adventurers' Association."

"Duh, you think I wouldn't care about my own student?"

Down below, many students were whispering: "Lancaster, are you sure you can help Richard apply to be a TA at the Advanced Players Academy?"

"Relax, I already said it, my family has connections."

"And a TA spot isn't something most people even want. You can only sit in on some culture classes. The key dungeon benefits and stuff, there's none. You still think I can't get it for Richard?"

...

 The crowd talked.

Richard probably didn't even realize it.

His daily hard work and focus were not meaningless.

Both teachers and classmates recognized him, and wanted to do what they could for this naturally unlucky boy.

...

Right now, in the library, Richard sat down at a random spot, a little puzzled.

He looked ahead. Over there on the desktop, the Sacred Spirit Contract Talisman had already been stuck on, but there was no reaction.

Until some noise rose not far away."It's Rayna, she came to the library!"

A few girl students whispered in excitement.
