The day began like any other. Takumi walked into his classroom quietly, his presence almost blending into the humdrum of school life. He wasn't exactly a loner—he could interact when necessary—but he found peace in silence. That was enough for him.
He placed his bag on the desk—not at the cliché back corner, but at the second-last bench in the very first row. It was an unusual seat for someone like him, but he didn't care for the labels people gave.
Sliding into his chair, Takumi drew a notebook from his bag and flipped straight to the last page, letting his pen wander in small doodles. The classroom roared with chatter until the teacher entered, and silence fell like a curtain.
Takumi sighed under his breath.
