The rest of the day is yet another mundane one. Work on and on. The clock ticking behind them as civilians footsteps, and Eker's running, permits through the walls. Not long after, the day comes to an end and they can clock out for the day.

Yanyi took her coat off the rack before turning to Luyao, her facial expression shows that she was just reminded of something. "Come by my house tomorrow morning if you can."

Luyao — "Why?"

Yanyi — "I have something for you. More like an obligation that I need to pass to you."

Luyao — "Why not bring it here?"

Yanyi — "It's not exactly something that you can just open in the middle of the city. Really."

Luyao — "Is it something big?"

Yanyi — "No."

"Then just bring it over. It won't bother anyone." Yanyi's eyes show annoyance. Sometimes this man can really push her button to the lowest. Taking a deep breath, Yanyi turned her back to him. "Come or not I don't care. I won't bring it over. If you want it then come over."

"Okay, I'll come over now." Yanyi turned her head yet again. This time she is really annoyed. This man is testing her patience. Luyao knew what he was doing and shrugged off her looks. "Might as well, right? Irene won't be at your house since she is still tending to Kazuto. Treat it as me keeping you two company."

Yanyi — "Company my butt! You just want a free meal!"

Luyao — "Can you blame me though. Your dishes are amazing."

"Fuck you!" She curses as she runs down the stairs to where Eker is. Luyao, still behind his own desk tidying, can't help the small smirk on his lips. He finds a bit of joy from seeing her acting like this. It gives him a bit more thought about how normal people act daily.

"I truly won't mind this type of conversation every day."

Relax my guy, you'll get her one day okay. Just focus.

The door to the connecting living room and kitchen opened as Yanyi and Luyao came with a bunch of grocery bags. They had to go for a pit stop at the market for some groceries as their kitchen is going a bit dry. "Stay here for a while won't you. Eker! Time for a bath!"

"Okay!"

They both ran to Yanyi's room while Luyao sat on the couch and took a book for a read. It was about 10 minutes later that a pair of footsteps came near the door. His eyes glanced upwards and there stood Yanyi with her hands behind her back.

Seeing that she is hiding something behind, he figures that this item is the thing that Yanyi would like to give to him. She came over and sat on one of the couches situated beside him.

Closing the book, he keeps his arms crossed while focusing on what is to come next. Taking her hands to the front, she reveals a small box laid on her palms. She then situated the said box on the coffee table in front of them.

Luyao — "What is this?"

Yanyi —"Don't know."

Luyao — "..."

Yanyi — "What I do know. Whatever is inside belongs to you."

It was only for a second did he contemplate what that sentence means before his mind connected the dot. He takes the small box into his hands before slowly opening it. The inside is laid down with a silky red cushion and laid in the middle of the box is a signia.

A signia that he has no idea of.

Luyao — "A signia?'

Yanyi — "An inheritance signia I believe. One that could only be open and used by the blood of those who contracted it. In other words, the Zhengs."

Luyao creases the signia before stepping outside into the courtyard. He had learned about inheritance signia before. A signia that can be passed down through generation head. Some houses have them and some don't.

The way to open them is when the person of that blood touches the said signia. However in this case, there's another factor. It is a contracted signia. It means that it will be bound to the users.

How to open them?

A blood contract of course.

Luyao pricks his finger on the hinge of the door before sliding the small drop of blood on the cryst in the center. The signia changes its shape and soon what emerges is something that had hardly been seen before.

Laid before his palms are a jian sword. A double edge thin sword that is strong and flexible at the same time. Engraved at the base of the hilt is a phrase. 'Loyalty is almighty'. The special about a jian sword is actually what it can do.

The reason why it needs a blood contract is precisely for what is to come next. Luyao moves the sword away from his palm without even touching it. He had only moved his right index and middle finger and the sword followed his movement.

It is based on command of the blood.

He had forged the blood contract.

So it is loyal to him.

"Wow…"

Yanyi watches from the inside as Luyao continues to experiment on the newly acquired weapon. Whatever is bothering him, at least he knows for sure who he really is. No doubt, no suspicion.

Luyao is the head of the Zheng.

Zheng Luyao.

"Time for dinner then." She whispers slowly before striding back to the kitchen.

The moment Eker gets out of the bathroom, he walks over to the door before sprinting after he sees a flash so huge it could be an alien even. Curious as he was, his jaw fell down the moment he saw what the flash really was.

"Brother Luyao is flying!" He yelled while jumping. Also a note here, he didn't wear his inside sandals. So his feet are bound to be dirty.

Hearing the excited yell, Luyao stops mid-air and smiles at the boy. He had newly discovered that he is able to ride the sword if he wishes to and had used the extra time to try and master it.

It wasn't as hard as it seems. He can control it using his fingers and body movement anyway. He slowly went down to the balcony and stood in front of the little boy. "You want a ride?"

Eker — "Yes! Yes!!!"

Luyao — "But you've already taken a bath. You'll be dirty again if we go on a ride."

Eker — "Huh?! But I want to ride too!"

Luyao —"Ask your sister. If she says yes then a ride is what you'll get."

"Jie!!!" He screams at the top of his lungs. Running with his little bare feet to the living room area. He didn't enter but told his desire to Yanyi who is still cooking in the kitchen.

"Clean your feet before dinner. Got it." Is all she said. Since there is no mention of an explicit "no", Eker takes it as a permission and runs to the edge of the balcony.

Luyao takes him into his arms before stepping on the new signia. "Hold on tight. Real tight!" Feeling the grip to his inner shirt, Luyao flew to the sky. Not so high and not too far away from the residence.

He takes Eker onto a simple stroll across the front street. Making sure that he is at most just a few inches above the residence roof level. Not too low and not too high.

Those who were walking around the street saw the flying figure and were in awe. Freely flying without using any form of magic but a signia. Never ever in their life had something like this been witnessed.

To end their little flight adventure, Luyao takes Eker to one of the tallest building rooftops in the street and watch the sunset together. They sat there for a good 15 minutes talking about Eker's future plan before returning back home.

.

.

.

Eventually the time for Eker's bedtime has come as well as Luyao's time to leave. Yanyi escorts Luyao to the gate where his car has been parked. "You didn't forget that box did you?" She asks with a teasing tone.

She knew he wouldn't forget it.

Luyao smirks before turning back to her. His head is lowered to look her directly in her eyes. Out of the blue, Luyao takes a hold of Yanyi's right hand and kneels down. "Thank you for everything. I mean it." He then proceeded to place that hand before his own forehead.

Yanyi didn't say or move from her spot. Her face remained without change. One thing did change though. Her ears. It is as red as a strawberry.

Luyao didn't tease Yanyi anymore and stood back up. He was about to turn around until Yanyi stopped him yet again. This time she will share the news with him.

Yanyi — "I will be in contact with Devian in the discussion on your inheritance."

Luyao — "Isn't that the Emperor's duty?"

Yanyi — "Yes. But~ I have been tasked to be the third party between you and the Emperor. And since Devian is also deeply involved in this whole secret thing, he will be the third party in the palace."

Luyao — "Why not just send a letter?"

Yanyi — "Nope! Please do remember, albeit the truth about your family is now out in the open, it is still considered as Imperial secret until the inheritance banquet. To avoid any leakage of information, it's best to communicate between those who are deeply involved."

Luyao — "Have you been communicating with His Highness all along?"

Yanyi — "..."

Luyao —"..."

Yanyi — "Maybe?..."

Luyao didn't seem impressed at first but his mask fell off as a chuckle came out of his mouth. He wasn't angry at her, how can he be? It's just a little disbelief that he never saw this coming. "Well then, I'll be waiting for any information from the Imperial Palace."

Yanyi — "Yes, sire!"

Luyao — "Good night."

Yanyi — "Good night!"
