Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: The Dragon’s Heart

Morning had come, and two days had already passed in their journey. Rekasa was cheerful and suggested, "Azazel, why don't you take a short break?"

Suddenly, Azazel again felt a vision of a village nearby. "There might be an isolated Town near by," he said. "We should head there and take a rest."

"It happened again.... What are these Visions that I am seeing...?" Azazel wondered.

After traveling for a while, they reached a huge gate, heavily guarded.

They approached and explained who they were. One of the guards nodded and showed them inside, explaining the Town rules.

"You mustn't steal or destroy anyone's property," the guard said. "If you do, you will have to make amends. And bullying or harming others is forbidden, the Town values peace above all."

Azazel and the others were amazed at how strict yet fair the rules were.

"Does this Isolated Town have a leader? Someone who sets these rules?" Akiena asked.

The guard replied, "The highest rank belongs to the most respected person here, Silas Zenith. His achievements are countless. He's the only person in history of this Town to become The Head at the age of nineteen."

After showing them the village, the guard led them to the house where they would stay.

Exhausted, Akiena and Rekasa fell asleep as soon as they lay on the bed. Azazel, however, couldn't stop thinking about the vision of the village, just like the time he had searched for the baby dragon's milk.

Finally, he closed his eyes. But instead of sleeping, he found himself in a dark place.

It was very dim; only a few things were visible. Trees without leaves and scattered plants made it look like a forest, but less dense.

As he moved forward, he suddenly heard a voice. He couldn't understand the words, but he sensed where it came from. Following it, he saw a huge dragon sitting there.

"Hey! You there!" the dragon shouted.

Azazel stepped forward. "Where… where am I? How did I enter this spiritual realm?"

The dragon's eyes glimmered. "I am the spirit of the Ancient Dragon- REINEKE THE DARK DRAGON. I was trapped in your sword, the Sabre of Eternal Damnation, passed down to you by Luis. When you touched the sword, my spirit merged with yours, creating this spiritual realm inside your mind."

Azazel's eyes widened. "So… it was your power that showed me the vision of the nearby village?"

Reineke nodded. "Yes. I helped because of the baby dragon. I wanted to use her body as a vessel for myself."

"A vessel?" Azazel frowned.

"A vessel is someone who can hold a spirit in the world of the living. No other lifeform has this ability, not even gods or demons. Only crimson dragons could do this. But during the Apocalyptic era... millions of years ago, all crimson dragons died before creating vessels. A mysterious man saved me, transferring my spirit into his sword and sealing all his magic within it before he died. His last moments ensured my soul lived on."

Reineke continued, "Now, since my soul entered your body, a new spiritual realm formed. I no longer need to possess anyone. You are not a vessel, Azazel... You are an anchor for my soul. I cannot take control of your body... I can only exist in this spiritual realm... Until this baby dragon allows me to enter her spiritual plane by her will... I cannot force it on her by myself..."

He then explained Azazel's ability to observe surroundings and what those visions were... "Close your eyes. Imagine a location you saw before. Concentrate on a single point and move your focus in that direction. Then open your left eye."

Azazel obeyed. Black smoke blurred his vision, and suddenly he was transported to another location where He saved the baby dragon. Excited, he opened his right eye too... but the vision slowly disappeared.

"Your eyes turned black when you activated this ability," Reineke said. "What you saw was the location you desired to see, without physically being there."

Azazel fell to his knees, exhausted.

"Such abilities take immense strength and magic from your body," Reineke explained. "That is why you are so tired... Even if you use your full strength you can only use this power twice or at most thrice a week"

Suddenly, the spiritual environment faded, and Azazel woke up. The whole day had already passed.

Next day Azazel woke up and wondered if what he saw was just a dream or it happened in real?

Suddenly the Door rang the bell and Azazel was surprised to see who was on the door...
