Chapter 1335 - Ch: 118

118- th betrayal of Vince and slat

Los Angeles, at a rehabilitation center owned by the FBI.

Vince, whose limbs were encased in plaster, glared angrily, ignoring the FBI agents standing by his bedside.

His furious gaze was fixed on a man being supported by the agents, yet he remained silent.

The object of Vince's glare was Slant, who also had an arm and a leg in casts.

"Vince, I'm not trying to hurt you."

"I don't want to betray Dom either, but he suddenly ran off with his girlfriend and sister."

"He didn't care whether we lived or died!"

"Yes, before he ran, he had someone quietly tell us to run too."

"But look at us! In this state, how are we supposed to run?"

"You didn't know, did you?"

"I heard Mia is dating that Asian kid who beat us up!"

"Even with this last smuggling job... Dom ignored our years of brotherhood."

"He actually took a huge chunk out of our share and gave it to that kid."

"Isn't he just some orphan mechanic?"

"Why does that Asian kid deserve such a big cut?"

"What's worse is that Dom hid it from us."

"He only told Jesse and the others about giving that kid the money."

Slant felt guilty, but he still complained indignantly to Vince.

A few days ago, Dom had suddenly wired money to each of the crew members.

He also sent word discreetly, warning them that the FBI was watching.

He told them to leave LA immediately.

Get fake IDs, lay low somewhere else for a while, and consider returning only after the heat died down.

Unfortunately!

Time was too tight!

Vince and his group had clashed with Hunter previously and were almost all hospitalized with injuries.

Vince was in the worst shape, with over a dozen fractures and cracks in his bones.

If Dom hadn't suppressed it, his family would have called the police long ago.

Slant and the others weren't much better off; each had a broken arm or leg.

So, even after receiving Dom's warning, they couldn't run even if they wanted to, stuck as they were in the hospital.

Moreover!

The FBI reacted faster than Dom anticipated.

Barely a day after Dom received the payment for the goods from Boston and planned his escape...

The FBI found Vince and Slant.

They hoped these injured crew members, unable to flee, would step forward to testify against Dom.

Up to this point, although the FBI had many clues pointing to Dom's crew as the bandits who had hijacked millions in electronics from trucks on California highways over the past few years...

They still lacked critical evidence.

Especially since over half a month ago, the FBI and LAPD had collaborated on an operation.

They used the opportunity of an underground race to arrest Dom and his crew.

However, that operation likely tipped Dom off that he was being watched.

Although the FBI took the chance to install bugs and surveillance equipment in Dom's house (suspecting him as the mastermind)...

They gained little useful information in the time that followed.

As a result, while the FBI was still monitoring them...

Suddenly, a few days ago, Dom, his sister Mia, and his girlfriend Letty left their house separately and completely vanished.

Shortly after, Jesse and several other subordinates also disappeared.

The FBI realized something was wrong.

They immediately issued warrants for Dom and his crew, but it was too late.

No one knew where they had gone!

Seeing their credit for the bust about to fly away...

How could the FBI accept defeat?

They quickly targeted Dom's former subordinates—the ones who hadn't managed to escape yet.

And so, Vince, Slant, and others, hospitalized for over two months due to their injuries...

Entered the FBI's sights!

When the FBI found him and asked him to testify against Dom, Vince chose silence.

Although he was dissatisfied with Dom over the Hunter incident...

Vince had grown up with Dom; they were brothers.

He didn't want to, and didn't plan to, betray Dom.

Besides, Vince knew that if he testified and confirmed their past crimes...

Even if he got a reduced sentence as a prosecution witness for the robberies he participated in...

His own ending wouldn't be pretty.

In contrast, Slant hadn't known Dom as long.

His relationship with Dom was more distant compared to the core "family."

And Slant had a wife and kids.

Plus, not long ago, his leg and arm were broken by Hunter.

So, while Vince was angry that Slant wanted to sell out Dom...

Deep down, he could understand Slant, even if he couldn't accept it immediately.

Slant understood Vince!

He knew Vince had loved Mia for years and regarded her as his woman.

Now, an Asian kid who popped out of nowhere...

A mechanic, no less... had stolen Mia away.

What Vince found even more unbearable was that despite his strength, he couldn't beat that thin-looking Asian youth.

He was beaten so badly he had multiple fractures and was hospitalized for months.

Sure enough, after listening to Slant...

Especially after the complaints at the end... the anger in Vince's face and eyes shifted from Slant...

To anger at Dom, and hatred for Hunter.

His expression darkened and shifted constantly.

The FBI agents nearby sharply noticed this change.

After exchanging glances, one of them suddenly spoke up: "Mr. Vince, as long as you can provide enough evidence to confirm the guilt of Dominic Toretto and that Asian kid, Hunter Sun..."

"We can not only apply for probation for you, but we can also pin part of your charges onto that Asian kid."

"We hope you'll consider this carefully!"

After speaking, they watched as Vince swallowed hard, his throat bobbing.

After a long silence, the group saw a flash of malice in Vince's eyes.

"Fine, I agree."

"But you have to promise me one thing: bury that Asian kid. Destroy him."
