Chapter 1437 - Ch: 139-144

Chapter 139 – The Demon Hunter

Selene had barely stepped out of Kraven's office when she ran into Erika in the corridor. The blonde wore a black off-shoulder top and jeans, her fair skin glowing against the dim light.

Unlike Selene, who had grown to despise Kraven, Erikawas infatuated with him.

She knew Kraven wanted Selene, yet she still clung to the hope of becoming his consort.

Seeing Selene emerge from Kraven's office with an icy expression, Erika blocked her path and frowned. "Your gown is in my room. When do you plan to try it on?"

If she could help it, she'd rather not pick a dress for her rival.

Still, she'd chosen one that suited Selene perfectly.

Because Kraven had ordered it.

And she refused to disappoint him.

"I have an operation tonight; I won't attend the banquet."

Selene answered without batting an eye.

Not attending?

Surprise flashed across Erika's delicate oval face, then gave way to unconcealed delight.

If Selene skipped the banquet, Kraven would need another companion.

And she was the obvious second choice.

Though the manor held plenty of female Vampires, Kraven dismissed them all.

"Stay safe."

Erika said to Selene.

Selene said nothing, merely nodded and strode toward her room.

Once Selene vanished around the corner, Erika headed for Kraven's office, her step light… Night.

Budapest city center.

Clad in a black trench coat and leather jacket, Selene led three Death Dealers out of the manor to the district where Lycan activity had been reported, intent on wiping them out.

She and the three Death Dealers took separate rooftops, gazing down at the streets below, scanning for any sign of the beasts.

Intel had confirmed Lycan presence in the area, but no hideout or movements—only a rough zone.

That was enough for Selene.

For them, knowing the beasts were in the city was all they needed.

They would track the Lycans themselves.

Minutes slipped past.

Half an hour vanished before she knew it.

Bad intel?

Had the pack already left the city?

Standing atop the building, Selene frowned slightly as she surveyed the street.

Though pedestrians hurried below, not a single Lycan had shown itself.

Just as she considered widening the search, the acute senses of her Vampire blood caught the faint thud of boots landing behind her.

Without hesitation she spun, gun already drawn and aimed.

She expected a Lycan creeping up for a kill.

She was wrong.

Behind her stood a handsome young man, not a beast.

Roy!

The stranger was none other than Roy.

After returning to Budapest from the capital of Wakanda, he hadn't gone straight to the suburban Vampire manor; instead he waited in the city for Selene's team.

Selene eyed him warily.

She didn't recognize the disguised Roy.

But she knew he was no ordinary human.

No normal man could appear behind her like a ghost.

While she studied him, Roy studied her.

Her look and attire matched his memory perfectly.

He'd seen plenty of Vampire films, yet few female Vampires had left a mark on him.

Selene was one of them.

Her short black hair and tight black clothes made her already pale skin seem porcelain.

The leather clung to every curve, and her cold aura and sharp gaze made her impossible to ignore.

"Who are you?"

After deciding he wasn't a Lycan, Selene asked coldly.

"My name is Sephiroth. I'm a Superhuman."

"More precisely, one who intends to conquer Vampires and Lycans."

Roy answered calmly, unfazed by her chill.

Conquer Vampires and Lycans?

Her already sharp eyes turned razor-edged.

His words brought to mind the demon-hunters who slew Vampires, Lycans, Witches—any supernatural threat.

Unlike Vampire hunters, demon-hunters targeted a far wider list.

Anything supernatural that endangered mortals was fair game.

"You're a demon-hunter?"

she asked.

Another Vampire would have opened fire by now.

Selene didn't.

She was a Vampire, not a butcher of humans.

She wouldn't shoot until sure.

"No, I'm no demon-hunter."

"Demon-hunters kill you; I intend to conquer you and make you my subordinates."

"Or rather, to become the king of the night ruling European Vampires and Lycans."

Roy shook his head slowly.

king of the night?

Selene's brows drew together.

"Leave. I don't want to kill you."

After a moment she decided to spare the chuuni youth.

"I won't leave until—"

She pulled the trigger before he finished.

Bang!

The silver bullet meant for Lycans whined past Roy's head and bit into the wall behind him.

"I'm not playing games."

"Final warning: leave or die."

Selene snapped, deadly serious.

She disliked needless killing, yet wouldn't hesitate if he interfered.

From her view, his presence already jeopardized tonight's mission.

Letting him live this long was mercy.

"First, I'm not playing make-believe."

"Second, you're no match for me; you haven't the strength to kill me."

"Lastly, no Lycan will appear tonight—Lucien has recalled them to the secret Base."

Roy met her gaze, unperturbed.

He hadn't ordered Lucien to pull the city pack back, but Lucien would do it anyway.

Those who lead are rarely fools.

Especially one who has lived centuries.

Lucien?

Selene frowned again.

That Roy knew Lucien's name didn't surprise her.

What shocked her was Roy's claim that Lucien had summoned the werewolves back to their secret Base.

Lucien is still alive?

Though she had no idea whether Roy spoke the truth, Selene reached a decision in seconds.

Take Roy down and drag him back to the manor!

With her mind made up, Selene lowered her arms and slid her pistol back into its holster.

The next instant, the six-or-seven-metre gap between them vanished; she flashed in front of Roy like a teleport, her alabaster right hand streaking for his throat.

Selene was, after all, a third-generation Vampire of the Underworld Universe; her bloodline and physical stats far outclassed those of common Vampires.

Had anyone but Roy been standing there, odds were good she would already have fingers clamped round a neck.

Unfortunately for her, the man in front of her was Roy.

He had yet to acquire Quicksilver's card, but his reaction and movement speed were no slower than hers.

Before her fingertips brushed his throat, his right fist slammed into her flat, silky abdomen.

Bang!

There was no suspense; Selene was hurled backward, tumbling five or six metres before she regained control.

To avoid killing her with one blow, he had held back, using only a fraction of his strength.

Even so, the punch packed more than enough force for her.

When she steadied herself, Selene ignored the throbbing in her gut and stared at Roy with wary eyes.

She had assumed she could casually subdue this "juvenile-delinquent" Roy.

Reality begged to differ.

Though he looked harmless, his power dwarfed hers.

Even without Telepathy, magnetic manipulation, or Magnetic Field Rotation Power, his raw physique alone let him crush her.

In terms of combat strength, Selene wasn't even a match for Lucien right now.

While she sized him up, the three other Death Dealersfinally reached the building.

The instant they spotted Roy, the Vampires drew their pistols and aimed.

Before they could squeeze the triggers, consciousness fled; they froze like statues, still pointing their guns.

Telepathy!

Without hesitation Roy pinned the trio in place.

What—?

Seeing this, Selene's frown deepened.

His punch had already told her his speed and strength rivalled hers; watching the three Vampires immobilised, she realised he possessed not only superior physique but also uncanny Superhuman abilities she didn't understand.

How did he do that?

What exactly was he?

What did he want?

Though Roy had already stated his purpose, Seleneclearly didn't trust the explanation.

While she weighed her next move, Roy spoke.

"Your parents weren't killed by werewolves. Viktor had men disguise themselves as werewolves and murder your parents and your sister."

"The reason is simple."

"On one hand, your father built the prison that holds the original werewolf William; on the other, you reminded him of his daughter Sonja, whom he executed himself."

"Lucien, once a Vampire slave, escaped the manor and led the other werewolves against Viktor because Viktorexecuted Sonja."

"They loved each other, and Sonja was pregnant."

"Viktor put Sonja to death in front of the crowd and made Lucien watch every second of her death by sunlight."

Roy delivered the facts unhurriedly, meeting Selene's gaze.

"Impossible," she shot back the moment he finished. "Werewolves slaughtered my family; Viktor drove them off and saved me."

Though he spoke the truth, her face was stamped with disbelief.

Yet she could hardly be blamed.

Few Vampires knew the real story,

and Viktor had ordered the historical records rewritten.

"Believe it or not, it's fact."

"Kraven is one of those who know."

"Ask him if you doubt me."

"If you'd rather not talk to Kraven, I can take you to Lucien."

"By the way, he's sworn fealty to me; the price was the chance to cut Viktor down himself."

Roy regarded her calmly.

Selene fell silent.

A dozen seconds ticked past before she said, "Release them first."

"No problem."

Roy nodded, releasing the Telepathic hold; the three Vampires regained awareness and mobility.

Once they could move, Selene ordered, "Tonight's operation is cancelled. Return to the manor at once."

"I have other business; I'll follow later."

Without waiting for a reply she stepped up to Roy. "Lead the way."

"No need; I can take you directly."

The words had barely left his mouth when his right arm slipped around her slender waist.

So tiny, he marvelled.

Leather wasn't the best fabric, yet Selene's waist was undeniably narrow—narrow and surprisingly soft.

She hadn't expected him to embrace her without warning, but she offered no protest, guessing he meant to teleport them.

She was right; the instant he secured his grip on her lithe midriff, he activated teleportation.

In a blink they vanished from the three Vampires' sight, as though they had never been there.

Outskirts.

Werewolf secret Base.

After several consecutive jumps Roy deposited Selene in Lucien's chamber.

Though she had never met him, she recognised the man before her as a powerful werewolf the moment she saw him.

"That's Lucien. Ask him why he rose against Viktor."

"He and Kraven had a secret pact; you can ask about that too."

Roy told her.

The moment he finished, Selene demanded of Lucien, "You're really Lucien? Viktor truly executed Sonja in front of you?"

Suppressing his rage, Lucien answered, "Yes, I am Lucien, and Viktor did kill Sonja."

Chapter 140 – The Truth

Selene's brows knitted slightly at Lucien's reply.

She had braced herself for this the moment she decided to come with Roy to meet Lucien.

Or rather, she had already reached a conclusion.

She didn't believe Roy would conspire with Lucien to deceive her.

The reason was simple.

There was no need.

Roy had already proven, with action, that he could defeat her effortlessly.

More than that—if he wanted to wipe out the Vampires, every Vampire in the manor combined wouldn't stand a chance.

The three Vampires he'd immobilized in an instant, standing like statues, were proof enough.

After a few seconds of silence, Selene asked Lucien, "What agreement do you have with Kraven?"

Lucien didn't hide it; he laid out the entire pact.

When she heard that Kraven intended to replace the three Elders—Viktor, Marcus, and Amelia—and seize sole power over the coven, Selene wore a look of grim confirmation.

Kraven had once been a Death Dealer, charged with all things martial.

But after he returned to the manor with "proof" of Lucien's death, he'd changed; the warrior within him had died.

Just as Selene was about to press further, Lucien asked, "Which Elder Embraced you?"

"Viktor!"

Selene answered without hesitation.

The moment the name left her lips, an uncontrollable murderous fury flashed across Lucien's face.

Selene was not Viktor's biological daughter.

But in Vampire terms, having been Embraced by Viktor, she was his blood-descendant.

Lucien stared at her, murder in his eyes.

Had Roy not brought her, he would have attacked on the spot.

After several deep breaths, he forced the killing intent down and said coldly, "Anything else you want to know?"

Selene said nothing and shook her head.

At her response, Lucien turned to Roy. "What's the detailed plan for tomorrow night?"

Roy had told him the chance for vengeance would come tomorrow night, but that was all he knew.

Nothing more had been shared.

"You'll find out when it happens,"

Roy replied calmly.

To Lucien, Viktor was formidable—only a hybrid of Vampire and Lycan blood could kill him.

To Roy, killing Viktor was a mere thought.

Even if Viktor were still asleep.

Even if he woke at full strength, it would still take only a thought.

Before the Telepathy granted by Professor X's card, Viktor was an ant he could crush at will.

Thus, no elaborate plan was necessary.

Though the answer wasn't what he'd hoped for, Lucienasked no further. "Then I'll go and ready my men."

Roy nodded.

Under his and Selene's gaze, Lucien left the room and vanished from sight.

Once Lucien was gone, Selene said, "I'm returning to the manor to see Kraven."

"I'm coming with you."

Roy replied.

"I can go alone."

Selene said quickly.

"I wasn't asking permission—just informing you."

The words had barely left his mouth when Roy slipped an arm around her slender waist.

Before Selene could protest, he teleported them away.

A dozen consecutive jumps later, they stood before the gates of the Vampire manor.

They had visited the Lycans' secret Base, yet still beat the three Vampires back.

Teleportation was far faster than driving.

"You're really coming inside with me?"

"This is our stronghold. Aren't you afraid we'll gang up on you?"

Selene studied him seriously, speaking fast.

"Nothing to fear."

"Even if you all attacked together, you'd still lose."

"Stop wasting time—have them open the gate."

Roy answered, unruffled.

He could teleport straight into the manor, but saw no need.

No point sneaking into a Vampire estate.

Selene frowned for a few seconds.

Then stepped beneath the surveillance camera at the gate.

She didn't need to speak or gesture.

The guard in the monitor room opened the heavy metal gates the instant he saw her.

Before the gates had fully parted, Selene strode through.

Roy followed at leisure toward the main house.

Just as she'd said, the patrolling Vampires recognized him as human at a glance.

Every one of them showed surprise.

Yet none moved to bar their way.

Though Selene didn't oversee daily affairs like Kraven, her rank was second only to his.

Soon they were inside the main hall.

A throng of gorgeously dressed, pale-skinned Vampires filled the vast ground floor.

The moment Roy and Selene entered, every eye turned to them.

Whispers rippled through the crowd.

None knew Roy.

But all knew he was human—neither Vampire nor Lycan.

Compared with Lycans, Vampires had a weaker sense of smell.

But next to humans, their noses were exceptionally sharp.

They caught his human scent without his even approaching.

"Bringing a human to the manor at a time like this—how brazen!"

"What can you do? She's the Elder's foster-daughter."

"The human's quite handsome."

"Handsome or not, he's still a frail, short-lived human."

"Not necessarily—maybe Selene will Embrace him."

"Embracing a human without an Elder's permission is punishable by death."

...The Vampires sized Roy up while trading hushed comments.

Their voices were low, yet both Roy and Selene heard every word.

Selene swept them with an icy glance and headed for the stairs.

Roy, meanwhile, studied the Vampires with interest.

In terms of strength, they were unremarkable.

Still, their attire and bearing matched every cinematic image of decadent nobility.

Unlike the Vampires he'd met in New York, these were elite members of the coven.

Otherwise, they wouldn't merit residence in the manor.

When Roy didn't immediately follow and instead stood sizing up the Vampires in the hall, Selene stopped, turned, and gave him a look.

Roy knew Selene was silently telling him to come along, but he had no intention of accompanying her to see Kraven.

Just as Selene was about to speak, the grim-faced Kravendescended the stairs with Erika and several guards, halting in front of her.

Kraven's cold eyes swept over Roy before he asked Selene, "Who is he?"

Selene ignored the question. "Was it really the Lycans who killed my parents and sister back then?"

What?

Kraven, Erika, and every other Vampire in the hall wore startled expressions.

The story of Selene's family slaughtered by Lycans and her adoption by Viktor was no secret within the coven.

Of course it was the Lycans."

"You saw the bodies—those wounds were clearly Lycan."

Kraven said slowly.

"The wounds were Lycan, but those Lycans could have been ordered to do it."

"I'm asking you one last time—what really happened?"

Selene stared at Kraven with icy resolve.

After meeting Lucien, she was certain Roy had told her the truth.

Still, she needed to hear the past from Kraven's own lips.

She knows?

Did someone tell her?

Or did she figure it out herself?

A flurry of thoughts raced through Kraven's mind.

Uncertain what had transpired, he kept his composure. "Come to the study. The rest of you stay here and watch the human."

Without waiting for an answer, he turned and headed upstairs.

Selene followed without hesitation.

Moments later they vanished from the sight of Roy, Erika, and the others.

Once they were gone, Roy ignored the Vampires, walked to an empty chair, and sat.

Seeing him sit so calmly, Erika and the others looked oddly at him.

Does he even know where he is?

Does he think this is just an ordinary manor?

Roy paid them no mind, debating whether to move the plan forward—have Selene and Lucien kill Viktor tonight.

Just then, golden-haired Erika, shoulders bared, sauntered over with curiosity.

"What's your name?"

she asked.

"Before asking someone's name, shouldn't you offer your own?"

Roy countered.

He knew her name but saw no reason to give the alias yet.

Interesting!

Erika had only wanted to ask how he knew Selene and why Selene had brought him.

His reply intrigued her even more.

"I'm Erika. And you?"

she said, studying him.

"Sephiroth."

Roy replied evenly.

"Sephiroth… nice name."

Erika sat beside him. "How did you and Selene meet?"

"How long have you known each other?"

"Why did she bring you here?"

Roy shrugged at the barrage. "Ask Selene."

Erika was attractive.

As a Vampire she possessed an allure no mortal could match.

Roy, however, felt no interest.

Leaving aside that she lacked Selene's magnetism,

the mere fact she was Kraven's devoted follower killed any appeal.

Erika had expected easy answers;

she was mistaken.

Her expression cooled.

Like the others, she deemed humans inferior prey.

Vampires, they believed, were stronger and born to rule Earth,

held back only by their vulnerability to sunlight and inferior numbers.

As Erika opened her mouth, rapid gunfire rang out upstairs.

Bang-bang-bang! Heads snapped toward the sound in surprise.

Kraven's guards and the manor's sentries bolted for the study.

Roy acted at once, teleporting.

In an instant he stood inside the study.

Selene faced Kraven, pistol leveled at his head.

Kraven sat unharmed behind the desk.

"Tell me—now,"

Selene demanded.

Kraven said nothing, gaze fixed on Roy.

He's Superhuman?

Like the other Vampires, Kraven had assumed Roy was mortal.

Now he realized Roy possessed powers.

Suddenly he understood why Selene was pressing for the truth.

Under her watch, Kraven rose, murder in his eyes.

He didn't speak; his expression said enough—

he meant to kill Roy.

Before he could move, Roy spoke.

"If I recall, you can extract memories from blood."

"Since he won't talk, drink him."

Instantly Roy used Telepathy to lock Kraven in place.

He left Kraven conscious but seized control of his body—

everything below the neck.

What did he do?

Kraven's murderous look vanished,

replaced by stunned disbelief.

Seeing him frozen, Selene understood Roy had immobilized him.

"Fine."

She holstered her pistol, stepped forward, and lifted Kraven's right hand.

Without hesitation she bit into his wrist.

Sharp fangs pierced skin; blood welled.

She drank only a mouthful before releasing him.

At once Kraven's memories flooded her mind…

Chapter 141: Queen of the Vampires

Before long, Selene finished browsing through Kraven's memories and learned the entire truth of what happened back then.

Although she had prepared herself mentally, an irrepressible expression of sorrow and anger still surfaced on her delicate, fair face.

Wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth, Seleneturned to Roy and asked, "Can you leave Viktor to me?"

Now that she knew the truth, she didn't plan on letting anyone else have the chance to kill Viktor.

However, she also knew that she needed Roy's permission for this.

After all, Roy had already promised Lucien.

"With your current strength alone, you can't handle Viktorby yourself."

"I can let you and Lucien team up to deal with Viktor."

Roy said unhurriedly.

He was stating a fact.

Neither Selene nor Lucien could currently handle Viktoralone.

No matter how you looked at it, Viktor was a Second-generation Vampire who had lived for over a thousand years.

After hearing Roy's answer, Selene fell silent.

If possible, she didn't want to team up with anyone else, especially not with the Lycan leader, Lucien.

But she knew that teaming up with Lucien was her only chance.

She hadn't known Roy for long—not even an hour.

However, she could tell that Roy wasn't the type of person who changed his mind easily.

Just as Selene was about to agree to Roy's terms and team up with Lucien against Viktor, the office door was roughly pushed open.

In the next second, Kraven's subordinates and the manor guards burst in, brandishing their firearms.

This is... As soon as they entered the room, they saw Kraven standing motionless, blood still flowing from his right wrist.

Though they didn't know exactly what had happened, they could see one thing clearly: Selene had just drunk Kraven's blood.

The blood residue on the corner of Selene's mouth was the best evidence.

Roy had sensed the arrival of Kraven's subordinates and the manor guards before they even entered the room.

However, he didn't stop them, allowing them to enter the room freely.

When Kraven's confidant, Sauron, was about to question Selene, Roy utilized Telepathy.

In an instant, he invaded the minds of Sauron and the others, stripping them of their consciousness and completely taking over control of their bodies.

Under his control, Sauron and the others, now puppets, left the room without hesitation and gently closed the door.

Once they had left, Roy sat down calmly on a nearby chair and raised his right hand, gesturing for Selene to sit as well.

Though she didn't know what he was up to, Selene didn't overthink it and sat in the chair opposite him.

"After Viktor, Marcus, and Amelia are dead, I will make you the new family Elder."

"No, to be more precise, I will make you the Vampire Queen."

Roy looked at Selene and spoke unhurriedly.

Making Selene the Vampire Queen wasn't a whim; it was something he had decided from the very beginning.

Although Selene's current strength wasn't enough to become the Vampire Queen, with his help, she could easily become the strongest Vampire in Europe.

As for the Lycans...

Roy planned to let Lucien continue as the leader of the Lycans.

He didn't even have the interest to manage the daily operations of the Vought Company himself, let alone personally manage the Vampires and Lycans of Europe.

To put it simply, even if he conquered the Vampires and Lycans of Europe as the king of the night, he would remain a hands-off boss, letting Selene and Lucienmanage the Vampires and Lycans respectively.

Make me the Vampire Queen?

Selene looked at Roy with a face full of surprise.

Although she was a Third-generation Vampire and held a high status within the manor, she had absolutely no interest in managing the Vampire family.

Otherwise, she would have fought Kraven for the power to manage the family long ago.

"If I don't agree, will you still let me and Lucien team up to deal with Viktor?"

After thinking for a moment, Selene asked Roy.

"Whether you agree or not, you can team up with Luciento deal with Viktor,"

Roy replied.

He did have the intention of making Selene the Vampire Queen.

But if Selene refused, he wouldn't force her.

Selene fell silent.

After more than ten seconds, she spoke: "I agree, but I have one request."

"What request?"

Roy asked.

"I want to know your true identity!"

Selene looked at Roy seriously and spoke quickly.

She hadn't seen through the disguise of the Vibraniumface-changing mask, but she was one hundred percent certain that the name Sephiroth was not Roy's real name.

A powerful Superhuman with several types of superpowers couldn't possibly remain obscure forever.

"Fine!"

"But not right now."

"I'll reveal my true identity to you after everything is over."

Roy said slowly.

"Deal!"

Selene nodded and replied immediately.

Although she was curious about Roy's true identity, she wasn't in a rush to know right this second.

As long as Roy was willing to reveal his true identity, that was enough for her.

Whether it was now or later didn't matter.

"What do you plan to do with this guy?"

"If you can't bring yourself to do it, I can take care of him for you."

Roy pointed at Kraven, who was standing motionless like a statue, and spoke to Selene.

"He didn't kill my parents and sister, and I don't have any deep grudge against him."

Selene said with a frown.

Kraven's pursuit had indeed caused her some trouble, but it hadn't reached the point where she wanted to kill him.

"Since you can't do it, I'll do it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Roy increased his output of mental energy.

Without any effort, Kraven's mind was completely obliterated by him.

In the next second, the brain-dead Kraven collapsed to the ground with a thud.

Once Kraven's mind was dead, Roy could no longer use Telepathy to control his body.

However, he no longer needed to control a dead man like Kraven anyway.

After killing Kraven, Roy stood up and said to Selene, "Let's go. Amelia's descendants are almost at the manor. It's time to go down and welcome them."

"Mm-hm!"

Selene replied immediately without any hesitation.

After leaving Kraven's study, Selene first returned to her own room.

Although Roy hadn't explicitly said so, she still planned to change into a formal gown for the banquet.

Unlike those ordinary women who needed over half an hour to do makeup and change, it took her less than three minutes to emerge from her room and appear before Roy.

Her original black trench coat and black leather suit were gone.

In their place was a form-fitting, smooth black evening gown that perfectly showcased her graceful curves.

Specifically, it was a deep-V backless style, revealing a large expanse of fair skin on her chest and back.

Truly the most beautiful female Vampire from the movies!

When Selene, changed into her evening gown, arrived before him, Roy lamented inwardly.

He had seen many Vampire movies.

But there weren't many female Vampires who could leave a deep impression on him.

"The gown is very beautiful,"

Roy said to Selene.

"Thank you!"

Selene replied.

Roy wondered if it was just his imagination, but he felt Selene's temperament had changed significantly.

If she felt like a cold female warrior when wearing the black trench coat and leather suit...

Then now, she gave off the feeling of an elegant and noble aristocrat.

After thinking for a few seconds, Selene proactively moved to Roy's side, pressing her alluring body against him and taking his right arm.

Giving Selene a somewhat surprised look, Roy led her toward the hall downstairs.

Before long, they arrived at the first-floor hall from the second floor.

Seeing the two of them come down, the eyes of Erika and the others were all focused on them.

Kraven's subordinates and the manor guards stood around the hall like sentries, guarding every entrance and exit.

After taking over their bodies, Roy had sent them to the hall to watch over Erika and the others.

Under the gaze of Erika and the rest, Roy led Selene to the center of the hall and said to them, "My name is Sephiroth. As you can see, I am a Superhuman."

"My purpose for coming here is simple: to conquer you and become your new Master."

Just as Roy finished speaking, a Vampire wearing a black tailcoat—who looked only in his twenties but was actually two or three hundred years old—stood up and shouted, "The Vampire race will never be slaves! Don't think for a second..."

Bang!

Before the Vampire could finish his sentence, his head burst apart like a watermelon falling from a great height.

Roy hadn't used an optic blast to blow the other's head off; instead, he had manipulated the magnetic field to crush it.

"I'm not here to negotiate with you; I'm here to notify you."

"As long as you can bear the consequences, you can try to resist."

"I'm not afraid to tell you now that the Lycans led by Lucien have already submitted to me."

"If you want to go accompany Kraven, I don't mind sending you to hell right now."

Roy looked at the Vampires in the hall with a calm face and spoke unhurriedly.

Although the system required him to conquer Europe's Vampires and Lycans as the king of the night, it hadn't given a standard for 'conquest.'

In other words, even if he slaughtered Europe's Vampires until only single digits remained, it wouldn't affect the completion of the mission.

Erika and the others looked at each other.

Then, they followed their hearts and made a choice.

Although Roy had only killed one Vampire in front of them, it was enough for them to realize the gap in strength between them and him.

After making their choice, the Vampires in the hall knelt on one knee one after another, expressing their submission through action.

Very good!

They are all smart Vampires who can read the situation!

Roy nodded in satisfaction.

Once Erika and the others had all knelt to show their submission, the rest was simple.

They first cleaned the blood from the hall and disposed of the headless Vampire's corpse.

Then, as if nothing had happened, they waited patiently for the arrival of Amelia's descendants.

When the clock struck midnight, Amelia's descendants finally arrived at the manor.

One richly dressed Vampire after another entered the hall.

Roy didn't feel like wasting words with them.

As soon as Amelia's descendants entered the hall, he used Telepathy to make them start killing each other.

Only after a third of the Vampires had been killed did he stop using Telepathy.

Without any suspense, having witnessed his eerie and powerful control abilities, the remaining descendants of Amelia also chose to submit.

Second floor.

In the largest bedroom.

This bedroom was originally Viktor's, but now it had become the guest room where he rested.

Roy lay on the freshly changed bed, eyes closed as he thought about the next arrangements.

The Vampires in the manor had all chosen to submit.

As for the Lycans...

Lucien's submission was equivalent to the submission of all Lycans.

In other words, as long as he took out Viktor, Marcus, and Amelia next, the goal of conquering Europe's Vampires and Lycans would be complete.

Although there were still some other Vampires and Lycans out there, such as the Vampires in the Eastern Coven and small scattered groups of Lycans, they couldn't possibly stir up any trouble.

After thinking for a bit, Roy decided to proceed according to the original plan.

Not long after he made his decision, the bedroom door was pushed open, and a graceful figure walked in.

The graceful figure entering the bedroom was none other than Selene.

Compared to other female Vampires, Selene was unusually clean-living.

In the past few hundred years, she hadn't had a single partner.

This was also the main reason Kraven was so obsessed with her.

However, not having had a partner in the past didn't mean Selene was a conservative person.

She didn't have a partner mainly because the male Vampires in the family didn't really meet her requirements.

If there was someone who made her heart flutter, she was no different from any other Western woman.

It was precisely because of this that, in the movie, she had an 'in-depth exchange' with Michael while hiding from Marcus's pursuit.

At that time, she had only known Michael for a single day.

After entering the bedroom, Selene turned and closed the door, then walked toward Roy with her long legs like a runway supermodel.

Although Selene didn't speak, what she wanted to do was already very obvious.

Looking at Selene, who was wearing a black hollowed-out nightgown and looking both sexy and a bit shy, the mentally and physically healthy Roy made the choice any normal man would make.

Without any hesitation, he grabbed Selene's slender waist and pulled her down onto the bed.

Soon, the sound of an intense, R-rated 'card game' echoed in the bedroom.

Because they both possessed Superhuman constitutions, this 'game' between Roy and Selene lasted for two or three hours before it concluded.

After the game, Selene used Roy's right arm as a pillow and lay beside him with a satisfied face.

The taste of a female Vampire is truly wonderful!

Roy mused inwardly.

Noon.

Roy and Selene led several Vampires to the hall where the Elders slept.

On the floor of the hall were three circular metal decorations over a meter in diameter, engraved with the capital letters 'M', 'V', and 'A'.

On the surface, these looked like three special decorative metal floor tiles.

But in reality, these were three exquisitely structured circular metal doors.

Beneath the metal doors were the coffins used for the Elders' slumber.

"Begin!"

Roy said to the Vampires behind Selene.

"Yes, Master!"

The Vampires replied immediately.

Under the watch of Roy and Selene, they took blood bags, went to the coffins of Viktor and Marcus, opened the metal doors, raised the coffins, and began the awakening ritual.

Both Viktor and Marcus were currently in a mummified state, looking incredibly hideous and disgusting.

Under normal circumstances, only an Elder could awaken a sleeping Elder.

Ordinary Vampires could also extract memories from blood.

But only an Elder could organize memories and thoughts, turning them into coherent images and detailed records, allowing the sleeping Elder to know through the blood what had happened in the past...

Chapter 142: Strengthening

In the movie, Selene violated the family rules and awakened Viktor a hundred years early to find out if Lucien was really dead.

According to the awakening order, today should have been Amelia's turn to awaken Marcus.

A hundred years later, Marcus would then awaken Viktor.

After Kraven brought back evidence of "killing" Lucien, the trio of Viktor, Marcus, and Amelia began the tradition of each ruling the family for a hundred years.

As the coffins of Viktor and Marcus rose and were placed flat in the center of the hall, the Vampires beside the coffins all turned to look at Roy.

Roy did not speak, nodding with a calm expression.

Seeing his response, these Vampires operated the coffins in front of them, aligning the blood-injection pipe outlets with the mouths of Viktor and Marcus.

Then, they tore open the blood bags and poured the Artificial Blood into the pipe inlets.

With the development of technology, the Vampires in Europe had also kept up with the times, developing Artificial Blood and completely ending the tradition of keeping Blood Slaves and hunting outside.

On the surface, this was a change where European Vampires actively embraced the changes of the era.

However, that was not the case.

If they could, they would have preferred to maintain tradition, continuing to keep Blood Slaves and hunt outside.

But unfortunately, they had to change this tradition.

Compared to ordinary people, the individual strength of a Vampire was indeed much stronger.

But this was not the Middle Ages.

If they continued to maintain tradition, there would only be one outcome: being wiped out by human armies using firearms.

To avoid this, both Vampires and Lycans lived "low-profile" lives, doing their best to prevent ordinary people from discovering their existence.

The Artificial Blood flowed through the pipes, continuously pouring into the mouths of Marcus and Viktor.

As the blood entered, the mummified bodies of Marcusand Viktor began to gradually recover.

Their hearts began to beat again, and their bodily functions began to recover bit by bit.

Although they had the nourishment of blood, it would take at least several hours for Marcus and Viktor to return to their peak states.

Roy had no interest in waiting here for them to recover, so he said to the Vampires beside the coffins, "Leave enough blood bags for them, then close the hall."

"Yes, Master!"

The Vampires beside the coffins replied in unison without any hesitation.

After giving them instructions, Roy grabbed Selene's slender Water-snake waist.

Teleportation!

In just an instant, he and Selene disappeared from the Vampires' sight.

Before Marcus and Viktor recovered, he planned to first resolve Selene's weakness of fearing sunlight.

Not only that, once Selene no longer feared sunlight, her physical attributes would also receive a certain boost.

Soon, Roy arrived with Selene at the ship where Alexander Corvinus was located.

Because he had just had 1500 milliliters of blood drawn yesterday, Alexander Corvinus, who already had a head full of White hair, looked even older and weaker.

At this moment, he was lying on the bed in the bedroom, while a Nurse by the bedside was giving him an IV.

Just then, Roy and Selene appeared in the bedroom out of thin air like ghosts.

Alexander Corvinus, who had already seen Royyesterday, did not show any expression of surprise.

But the Nurse giving him the IV was not as calm as he was.

Seeing Roy and Selene appear out of thin air, the young blonde female Nurse immediately showed an expression of disbelief.

Just as she tried to say something, Roy decisively used Telepathy, completely freezing her and stripping her of her consciousness and physical control.

After doing this, he then said to Alexander Corvinus on the bed, "This is Selene. As you can see, she is a Vampire."

As soon as he finished speaking, Alexander Corvinusguessed his intention.

"You want her to no longer fear sunlight?"

Alexander Corvinus asked with a frown.

"Yes."

Roy replied with a calm expression.

"The 1500 milliliters of blood taken yesterday was used up that quickly?"

Alexander Corvinus continued to ask.

"No, it's just more convenient to come find you directly."

"Don't worry, today you only need to contribute 100 milliliters of blood."

Roy said slowly.

When Selene took the initiative to come to his bedroom and become his companion, he had told her the fact that Alexander Corvinus was still alive.

Although he didn't tell Selene that he had just drawn 1500 milliliters of blood from the man yesterday.

But he did tell Selene that Alexander Corvinus's blood had the effect of making Vampires no longer fear sunlight and strengthening themselves.

After he finished saying this, Selene guessed that he would bring her to see Alexander Corvinus today.

Alexander Corvinus sighed helplessly and beckoned to Selene.

Selene did not speak and walked straight to the bedside.

After looking Selene over, Alexander Corvinus pointed to the syringe nearby and said to her, "I don't have the super-regenerative abilities you have, so let's use a syringe to draw the blood."

Selene nodded, picked up the syringe, and drew 100 milliliters of blood from Alexander Corvinus's left hand.

After drawing the blood, Selene did not directly inject it into her body or remove the needle to drink it; instead, she picked up an empty cup.

After injecting the blood from the syringe into the cup, she then picked up the cup and drank the blood inside in one gulp.

The very second she drank Alexander Corvinus's blood, she sensed the special energy contained within it, and her sapphire-like eyes became even more dazzling.

At the same time, her physical attributes also received a significant boost.

In just a short ten seconds or so, she had completely digested the energy contained in the blood.

Taking a deep breath to calm her emotions, Selenewalked toward the bedroom window.

The midday sunlight streamed through the window, enveloping her body.

Is this what it feels like to be shone upon by the sun?

After becoming a Vampire, she had never again experienced the feeling of being in the sunlight.

Counting the time, it had already been several centuries.

At this moment, as she once again experienced the warm feeling of being shone upon by the sun, a satisfied smile involuntarily appeared on her exquisite White face.

Although Alexander Corvinus's blood had also boosted her physical attributes and made her stronger than before.

She didn't care too much about the increase in strength; her mind was entirely filled with the fact that she could finally live under the sun like a normal person.

After standing by the window for nearly a minute, she turned back to the bedside and said to Alexander Corvinus, "Thank you."

"The person you should thank is him, not me."

"If it were up to me, I would never have let you get my blood."

Alexander Corvinus pointed his finger at Roy and said with a serious expression.

He was telling the truth.

Even in the movie, he only allowed Selene to absorb his blood just before he died.

Not only that, his purpose in letting Selene absorb his blood was not to help her, but to give her the strength to stop Marcus.

Hearing Alexander Corvinus's reply, Selene said nothing more, walking straight back to Roy and taking his right arm of her own accord.

Teleportation!

Roy did not hesitate, immediately using Teleportation to take Selene away from Alexander Corvinus's bedroom.

He did not take Selene back to the Vampire manor, but instead took her to downtown Budapest.

It wasn't night yet, so there was no need to rush back to the manor.

Although he didn't say it, once she saw him bring her to the city, Selene guessed his intention.

Clearly, Roy intended for her to experience the life of a normal person and relax her mind before seeking revenge.

For the next few hours.

Roy and Selene were like a couple visiting Budapest for tourism, spending their time wandering around the city.

However, their sightseeing activities lacked the part where they tasted local delicacies.

Even though Selene no longer feared sunlight, she was still a Vampire after all.

Ordinary food not only failed to provide her with any energy, but it would also cause her intense discomfort.

This was determined by a Vampire's own constitution; even with the sunlight immunity buff, it could not be changed.

As night began to fall, Roy and Selene ended their outing in the city and returned to the Vampire manor.

Besides them, Lucien also brought several Lycans to the outside of the manor.

While he was out in the city with Selene, Roy had already notified Lucien to come tonight.

In front of the manor gates.

Lucien and the others looked at the main building inside with solemn expressions.

"Are we really going in?"

A tall Black man asked Lucien.

His name was Raze, and he was one of Lucien's trusted subordinates.

In the movie, it was he who led the other Lycans to the subway station to capture Michael and successfully killed a Death Dealer.

"Of course we're going in."

Lucien said quickly.

Although Roy had not told him the process of conquering the Vampires, he was certain that Roy must have already conquered the Vampires in the manor.

After fighting Roy—or rather, after being pummeled by Roy—he knew that Roy's strength far exceeded that of Lycans and Vampires.

Just as Raze was about to say something more, the metal gates of the manor slowly opened.

Without any hesitation, Lucien took the lead and walked toward the main building of the manor.

Inside the hall where the Vampire Elders slept.

Roy sat at the very front of the hall on a throne-like stone chair, looking calmly at Viktor, who had completely recovered.

After absorbing Artificial Blood for several hours, Viktorand Marcus had finally recovered from their mummified states to their normal forms.

Although his body and strength had recovered, his current expression was more than just a little ugly.

After returning to the manor with Selene, the first thing Roy did was use Telepathy on them, completely taking over their physical control.

Then, he directly used Telepathy to destroy Marcus's consciousness, killing him once and for all.

Although Marcus was the progenitor of the Vampires in the Underworld Universe, Roy had no intention of sparing his life.

He already planned to make Selene the Vampire Queen, so there was naturally no need to keep Marcus around.

Selene, wearing her black tight leather suit, stood to Roy's right, looking at Viktor, who could only move his head, with a face full of murderous intent.

Before long, Lucien and his group were brought to the hall.

Just like Selene, as soon as he saw Viktor, an uncontrollable and intense murderous intent appeared on Lucien's face.

Before Lucien could speak, Roy's voice rang out.

"I will give you three minutes."

"If you haven't killed Viktor within three minutes, I will personally step in and finish him."

After saying that, Roy released his Telepathy, returning physical control to Viktor.

Without needing him to say anything more, Selene and Lucien attacked at the same time.

Selene pulled out the pistol at her waist and frantically pulled the trigger.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang... the intense sound of gunfire immediately echoed through the entire hall.

Selene's movements were very fast.

Viktor's reactions were equally quick, not giving Selene a chance to aim at him.

Relying on speed that far exceeded that of ordinary people, Viktor dodged and moved through the hall like a spectral Shadow.

It wasn't that he hadn't considered immediately counterattacking Selene.

But he didn't dare.

As for the reason, it was simple: because Roy was sitting right next to Selene.

While Selene was firing her gun, Lucien was not idle either.

He immediately took off his coat and transformed into a Lycan as quickly as possible.

Then, like a predator chasing its prey, he went after Viktor.

Click! Click!

Soon, Selene had emptied her magazine.

She didn't change to a new magazine; instead, she directly threw away the pistol, pulled out the Dagger at her waist, and charged toward Viktor.

If it were a one-on-one fight, neither Selene nor Lucienwould be a match for Viktor.

But they didn't need to face Viktor alone now.

Although Selene and Lucien had never teamed up before, they showed excellent chemistry in front of their common enemy, Viktor.

Lucien was responsible for pinning him down from the front, while Selene was responsible for attacking the empty-handed Viktor from his blind spots.

Under their combined attack, the leaping and dodging Viktor was soon suppressed into a corner of the hall.

Screech, screech, screech... Lucien and Viktor, locked in frontal melee combat, were like Beasts, constantly raking their claws across each other's bodies.

Although his raw strength was inferior to Viktor's, Lucien's intense rage gave him a certain boost in power.

At this moment, Lucien seemed to have lost all sense of pain, ignoring Viktor's attacks and starting a tactic of trading injury for injury and blood for blood.

Unlike Lucien, who seemed to have completely lost his mind, Selene's attacks were much more rational.

Holding her Dagger, she had no intention of competing with Viktor's health pool, instead striking and retreating like an assassin.

Although her attack frequency was far lower than Lucien's, the damage she caused was no less than his.

Time passed bit by bit.

The wounds on Viktor's body grew more numerous, and his counterattacks grew increasingly weak.

Realizing that Viktor wouldn't last much longer, Lucienand Selene, who had been cooperating well before, began to fight for themselves.

They both had reasons why they had to be the one to kill Viktor.

At the same time, neither of them intended to yield the opportunity to kill Viktor to the other.

When they began to fight individually, an imperceptible smile flashed across Viktor's face.

From the very beginning, he knew he was doomed tonight.

But he didn't intend to just accept his fate.

Even if he died, he would take someone down with him!

After tanking one of Lucien's claws with his body, Viktordid not hesitate, his legs suddenly exerting force as he pounced toward Selene, arriving right in front of her.

He was going to drag Selene to hell with him!

The plan was beautiful, but reality was cruel.

Slash!

A flash of silver light instantly swept across Viktor's neck, severing his head.

As Viktor's adopted daughter, Selene knew very well what kind of person Viktor was.

When Viktor tanked Lucien's claw, she had already guessed his intention.

Thus, she beat him at his own game, deliberately feigning an inability to dodge in time to let Viktor come right in front of her.

Then, she struck with all her might, using the Dagger in her hand to cut off Viktor's head.

It was over!

Viktor's head fell to the floor of the hall under the force of gravity, rolling several times on the ground like a soccer ball.

Only after the head stopped rolling did Viktor's headless corpse fall to the ground with a thud.

Selene glanced at Viktor's corpse, dropped the Dagger in her hand, and returned to Roy's side...

Chapter 143: The Strongest Superhuman

"Can I take his body with me?"

Lucien reverted to his human form, pointed at Viktor's corpse, and asked Roy.

Although Viktor was dead, he still didn't intend to let him off easily.

Since he hadn't been able to kill Viktor with his own hands, he would take Viktor's body back to feed the dogs!

"You may!"

"Amelia's train will arrive in the early morning. Since you already had a plan to ambush her, the task of killing her is yours."

"As for how to handle her body, you decide for yourself."

Roy looked at Lucien calmly and said slowly.

"Good!"

Lucien replied immediately without any hesitation.

After speaking, he bowed slightly to Roy, picked up his coat from the ground and put it on, then signaled Razeand the others to take Viktor's body away.

Soon, Lucien's group left the manor with Viktor's corpse.

After they left, Roy gathered all the Vampires in the manor into the main building's hall.

Although the system hadn't sent a task completion message yet, barring any accidents, the system would consider the task complete once Lucien's group killed Amelia.

In other words, he just needed to wait patiently now.

After gathering Erika, Sauron, and the others in the hall, Roy didn't waste time and said straightforwardly:

"From now on, Selene is your Queen."

"When I'm not around, Selene will manage all the family's affairs, large and small."

After Roy finished speaking, Erika, Sauron, and the others showed expressions that said, 'as expected.'

After Roy killed Kraven and some of Amelia's descendants, and declared he would kill Viktor and the other two next, they had guessed Roy would push Seleneto the top.

As for why he didn't manage the family himself, the reason was simple: he wasn't a Vampire.

A Vampire's life of being active at night and sleeping during the day, living on blood, was clearly not suitable for him.

After announcing the decision for Selene to take over the family, Roy first went to the study and then to the main building's collection room.

Before leaving Europe to return to New York, he planned to take some extra spoils back with him.

For example, the precious antiques and cultural relics collected by Viktor and the others.

In the collection room, Roy discovered many famous antiques and relics.

Without any hesitation, he put these treasures, which originally belonged to Viktor and the other two, into his system space.

Three hours later.

In the largest and most luxurious bedroom on the second floor.

Roy and Selene, who had just finished an intense card game, lay on the bed, chatting idly.

At that moment, a system message that only Roy could see appeared in his vision.

[Task completed!]

[Task rewards have been sent!]

[Card Fusion Count: 7]

With a quick glance, Roy closed the information panel and sat up.

"What's wrong?"

Selene looked at Roy in confusion and also sat up.

"Didn't you want to know my true identity? I can tell you now."

Roy said to Selene.

After speaking, he took off the Vibranium disguise maskhe had been wearing for two days.

As the Vibranium disguise mask was removed, his true appearance appeared in Selene's sight.

"You are..." After seeing Roy's true appearance, Selenecouldn't help but widen her sapphire-like, doll-like eyes, looking at Roy in disbelief.

"You're the blood angel Roy!"

Selene took a few deep breaths to calm her mood a bit and said to Roy.

"Yes."

Roy nodded.

"Why did you hide your true identity?"

"If you hadn't hidden your identity, you could have conquered the Vampires and werewolves much more easily."

Selene asked with a face full of confusion.

Because the system required it!

Roy grumbled in his heart but said slowly: "It's nothing, just to make things a bit more fun."

Whether it was Selene, Daisy, Mary Jane, or the others, he would not reveal the existence of the system.

This was his biggest secret and his greatest trump card!

"Don't you want others to know that you've become the new Master of the European Vampires and werewolves?"

Selene asked with a frown.

"Don't overthink it; I'm not afraid of you affecting my reputation."

"Besides, the blood angel doesn't have a good reputation to begin with."

"In a while, I'll arrange for Vought Company to develop a publicity plan for Vampire and Werewolf heroes. By then, I'll let the whole World know that besides humans, there are also Vampires and werewolves."

Roy replied calmly.

Compared to him, the strength of Vampires and werewolves was indeed not much.

But compared to ordinary people, Vampires and werewolves were undeniably supernatural creatures.

More importantly, he didn't even mind letting people know about the existence of Frost Giants, so of course, he wouldn't mind them knowing about Vampires and werewolves.

"Mhm!"

Selene nodded and didn't continue the topic.

Soon, the sound of intense card playing unsuitable for children rang out in the bedroom again... Three days later.

Manhattan.

Chairman's office of Vought Company.

Ellie, with long blonde wavy hair, wearing a black OL skirt and stiletto heels, stood before Roy, looking at him seriously.

"Notify the heads of the marketing and promotion departments to re-formulate the publicity plans for Vampire and Werewolf heroes."

"Don't go for some dark style. I want superheroes, not some late-night vigilantes or anti-heroes."

After browsing through the plans submitted by the marketing and promotion departments, Roy shook his head and said slowly.

"Alright, sir. I'll contact the heads of the marketing and promotion departments right away."

Ellie replied quickly.

Just as she was about to leave the office, Roy's voice rang out again.

"Wait a moment."

"Are you interested in becoming a Vampire? The kind that isn't afraid of sunlight."

Roy asked Ellie.

"Me?"

"A Vampire?"

Ellie turned around, looking at Roy in surprise.

After a few seconds, she spoke up: "If you want me to become a Vampire, sir, I can become one."

Although becoming a Vampire meant saying goodbye to human delicacies, in the face of supernatural power—more accurately, a long lifespan and eternal youth—Elliequickly made her decision.

So what if she couldn't continue tasting human food?

It was no big deal!

Hearing Ellie's answer, Roy continued: "Once you become a Vampire, there's no room for regret. Are you sure you're really willing?"

"Yes, I am!"

Ellie replied immediately without any hesitation.

"Good!"

"In a few days, I'll arrange for someone to give you the Embrace."

"Nothing else. Go back to work."

Roy said slowly.

"Alright, sir."

Ellie bowed slightly to Roy, turned, and left the office.

After Ellie left, Roy picked up his phone and dialed Selene's number.

He had originally planned to leave Selene and Lucien in Europe to manage the European Vampires and werewolves.

But after thinking about it seriously, he felt that would be a bit of a waste.

Not to mention Selene.

After the deaths of Viktor and the other two, Selene, who had gained the sunlight immunity buff, was now the strongest Vampire in Europe.

Or rather, she was now second only to Dracula.

As for Lucien.

Although Lucien hadn't received an enhancement like Selene's, he had been the strongest among the werewolves since hundreds of years ago.

Not only that, he was the first Werewolf who could freely transition between human and Werewolf forms; his strength, speed, and self-healing abilities were all superior to other werewolves.

Even during a full moon, he could maintain his sanity and wouldn't uncontrollably transform into a Werewolf like the others.

If it weren't for him, the European werewolves would now only be like the imprisoned Werewolf ancestor, William, remaining in Werewolf form constantly without knowing the trick to reverting to human form.

Soon, the call connected, and Selene's voice came through from the other end.

"What's wrong?"

Selene asked directly.

"Pick someone you trust to be responsible for the family's daily management, then bring a few people to New York."

"Keeping you in the family is a bit of a waste of talent."

Roy said slowly.

"Good!"

Selene was stunned for a moment, then replied quickly.

She originally had no interest in managing the family.

If it hadn't been for Roy's instructions, she wouldn't have wanted to manage the Vampire family at all.

After contacting Selene, Roy gave Lucien a call.

The content wasn't much different: he also told Lucien to arrange for others to manage the European werewolves and then bring a few young werewolves with good potential and handsome looks to New York.

Lucien had no objections to this arrangement.

After learning his true identity, any small schemes he might have had were immediately dismissed.

Although he was still a subordinate, being a subordinate of the blood angel was clearly much better.

Earth's strongest Superhuman!

That was the general public's current evaluation of Roy!

That evening.

Roy met Selene, Lucien, and the others in the Vought Company chairman's office.

Both Selene and Lucien only brought three people with them.

After some small talk, Roy briefly mentioned that Vought Company would soon begin promoting Vampire and Werewolf heroes.

Selene and Lucien already knew he had such an arrangement, so they didn't show any surprise.

As for the young Vampires and werewolves they brought, they weren't as calm.

They weren't old, only in their twenties or thirties, and were undoubtedly the fresh blood of the Vampires and werewolves.

Becoming a superhero and being adored by the general public was no small temptation for them.

After explaining Vought Company's next arrangements, Roy had his assistant Ellie take Lucien and the young Vampires and werewolves out of the office.

As for Selene, he took her back to the penthouse apartment of the Skyscraper.

Daisy and Mary Jane did not show any hostility or rejection toward Selene's arrival.

They had known long ago that Roy would definitely bring other women back.

That night.

Roy, Daisy, Mary Jane, and Selene engaged in an exciting and intense four-person card game.

Although it was one against three, Roy still won the final victory without any suspense.

Only the ox gets exhausted, the field never gets worn out!

This saying only applied to ordinary men... Time flew by.

Before they knew it, three months had passed.

During these three months, Roy continued his low-key and decadent life as usual.

Playing cards, cultivating, and developing new moves!

To him, these three months weren't much different from his previous days.

But for others, it was a different story.

Under Vought Company's relentless promotion and publicity, Selene, Lucien, and the others became well-known new heroes.

At the same time, the existence of Vampires and werewolves also became widely known.

Because there was the 'precedent' of the Frost Giant, the existence of Vampires and werewolves didn't cause too much of a stir.

The Frost Giants from myths and legends had already been confirmed as intelligent beings from another Planet.

So, the fact that Vampires and werewolves from folklore also truly existed was relatively less strange.

Regardless, Vampires and werewolves were at least intelligent life forms from Earth.

To give the three young Vampires Selene brought the ability to move freely in sunlight, Roy also had them absorb Alexander Corvinus's blood.

More accurately, he gave them a lower concentration of Alexander Corvinus's blood.

Norman, who stayed in Wakanda, used the blood samples Roy brought, with Banner's help and artificial blood technology, to create more blood.

After testing, this blood produced using artificial blood technology contained energy and effects no lower than those provided by Alexander Corvinus.

Not only that, Norman and Banner also successfully developed a serum that could significantly extend the lifespan of ordinary people, maintain eternal youth, and slightly improve physical attributes.

Roy, too lazy to come up with a name, dubbed these serums the "immortality serum."

After confirming the immortality serum had no side effects or hidden dangers, he had Daisy and Mary Janeinjected with it.

Besides them, Roy also gave the immortality serum to Gwen, Black Widow, Barbara, Sharon Carter, and Agent Hill.

Except for Gwen's immortality serum, which was a free gift, the four of them paid a certain price to get it.

Mental Imprint!

Using Telepathy, Roy placed a Mental Imprint in the subconscious of the four of them before handing the immortality serum to them.

Although they were all card-playing partners he had interacted with deeply, their status in Roy's heart was lower than Daisy's and Mary Jane's.

Even Gwen, with whom he hadn't interacted deeply, had a higher status than the four of them.

Manhattan.

Skyscraper penthouse apartment.

Roy sat in his study, waiting for the normal draw count to refresh.

[normal draw count: 9]

In a few more minutes, the normal draw count would change from 9 to 10, which could be exchanged for one advanced draw.

Although his current strength allowed him to act with impunity on Earth, he was still full of anticipation for the upcoming advanced draw.

No one would complain about having too much money, and no one would complain about being too strong!

Time passed bit by bit.

When the time reached 12:00 PM, the system refreshed the normal draw count immediately.

[normal draw count: 10]

[Do you want to consume 10 normal draws to exchange for 1 advanced draw?]

"Yes!"

Without any hesitation, Roy immediately made his choice.

In the next second, the system page refreshed again.

[normal draw count: 0]

[advanced draw count: 1]

[Do you want to start the advanced drawimmediately?]

Finally, I can draw the fourth ssr card!

After a moment of internal sentiment, Roy chose to draw the card immediately...

Chapter 144: The Fourth ssr card

When Roy made his choice, the newly refreshed advanced draw count instantly became 0.

In the next second, a dazzling golden light appeared in his vision.

Although this wasn't his first time performing an advanced draw, he still couldn't help but feel a bit excited at this moment.

What card would he draw this time?

Franklin, Legion, Vulcan, Phoenix, Jaspe, Psylocke, Mr. M... One Omega-Level Mutant after another flashed through Roy's mind.

The brilliant golden light lasted for only two or three short seconds before disappearing, turning into a glittering gold card.

Seeing the character on the front of the card, Roy sighed helplessly.

Although he had drawn his fourth ssr card, the card he drew this time wasn't the one he wanted.

Or rather, it wasn't the one he wanted right now.

Storm!

This time, he had drawn Storm's card.

In the movies, Storm was not an Omega-Level Mutant.

But in the comics, she was not only an Omega-Level Mutant but also possessed very powerful magic.

Magik in the X-Men relied on the magic taught by Stormto defeat the demon Belasco, becoming the Queen of Limbo and returning to Earth alive.

After drawing Storm's card, the system immediately refreshed the deck.

[Obtained SSR: Storm Card!]

[Deck Updated!]

[Deck: SSR: Iceman, SSR: Magneto, SSR: Professor X, SSR: Storm, SR - Gambit, SR - Pyro, SR Cyclops, R - Angel, R - Agent Zero, Fusion - Wolverine-Spider, fusion: ghost cat]

Roy didn't pay attention to the deck refresh and browsed the description of the Storm card provided by the system.

Soon, he finished reading the explanation provided by the system.

The explanation given by the system was no different from what he knew.

Weather manipulation!

This was Storm's most obvious superpower.

However, her superpowers were not limited to this.

Besides manipulating the weather and creating meteorological phenomena like tornadoes, lightning, and blizzards within a certain range, she could also sense and influence the form of meteorological energy.

In other words, when manipulating the weather, she didn't necessarily use her superpowers to completely change the weather; she might also be guiding or strengthening the power of future meteorological events.

Additionally, she could generate and release lightning from her body or create strong winds to levitate and fly.

When releasing lightning at full power, the lightning she released was not weaker than Thor's.

When she fully exerted her superpowers, she could even summon cosmic-level phenomena such as solar Storms and cosmic elemental torrents.

In a state of rage, she could even destroy a Planet in an instant.

Finally, she also possessed agility far beyond ordinary people, owl-like night vision, and the ability to resist Telepathy.

From the perspective of strength, Storm's power was very much in line with the performance of an Omega-Level Mutant.

But Roy still didn't particularly like Storm's card.

If possible, he would have preferred to draw the Phoenixcard right now.

Forget it!

I've already drawn it!

Even if I don't like it that much, I can only accept it!

Roy didn't dwell on the issue further, closed the system panel, got up, and left the study.

He didn't intend to go to Antarctica to test Storm's superpowers immediately.

After leaving the study, Roy left the apartment with Daisy, Mary Jane, and Selene and headed to the Chinese restaurant under his name.

Although Selene couldn't enjoy human food, it would be even worse to leave her alone in the apartment.

To avoid making Selene feel that he was favoring one over the other, Roy specifically brought her along.

Not only that, he also instructed the restaurant's chef in advance to prepare food suitable for Selene.

Actually, there wasn't much to prepare.

It was just pouring artificial blood from a blood bag into an empty wine bottle.

After eating and drinking his fill, Roy used the Tesseractto create a spatial portal back to the apartment, letting Daisy and the other two return.

As for himself, he planned to take a trip to the The Sanctum Sanctorum.

After drawing Storm's card, he had gained Storm's magical abilities.

In the comics, Storm was one of the three great witches, as famous as Wanda and Agatha.

Agatha was Wanda's mentor and one of the strongest witches in the World.

In the comics, Agatha not only taught Wanda magic but also cared for her like her own daughter.

To suppress Wanda's Chaos Magic, she sealed Wanda's memories.

However, Wanda eventually lost control and killed Agatha.

After her death, Agatha did not disappear but continued to teach Wanda in the form of a spirit.

Like Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One, Storm also specialized in White Magic.

Not only that, she had a mysterious connection with Oshtur of the Vishanti and could borrow Oshtur's power.

Besides the Elder God Oshtur, she also borrowed the power of the Elder God Gaea, the Mother of Earth.

Additionally, she could withstand the physical manifestation of Eternity, one of the five cosmic abstract entities.

In the explanation provided by the system, it did not explain in detail which spells Storm knew.

Roy knew Storm could use magic, but he only knew a part of it.

After all, Storm in the comics rarely used magic in battle.

To fully utilize Storm's magical abilities, Roy, who had always maintained good study habits, decided to take this opportunity to start his magical journey.

Previously, to develop Magneto's superpowers, he had learned quite a bit of professional electromagnetic knowledge.

Now, he intended to systematically learn some magical knowledge.

The The Sanctum Sanctorum in New York was the most suitable magic school for him right now.

Passing through the spatial portal created by the Tesseract, Roy arrived once again at the main gate of the The Sanctum Sanctorum.

Just like the last time, he didn't enter the The Sanctum Sanctorum directly but came to the front door and prepared to raise his hand to knock.

However, just as he raised his right hand, the door of the The Sanctum Sanctorum was opened.

At the same time, Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One, wearing a bright yellow robe, appeared in his sight.

"Do you have business with me?"

The Ancient One looked at Roy with a face full of surprise and said slowly.

"I want to learn magic!"

Roy said directly without any hesitation.

Learn magic?

The Ancient One immediately frowned.

After a few seconds, she spoke: "You have no talent for learning magic. I already confirmed this the first time we met, so you..."

Although it was a bit impolite to interrupt someone, Roystill interrupted the Ancient One.

"The past is the past, and now is now!"

"I have awakened a new superpower and gained the aptitude to learn magic."

Roy said with a serious face.

Strictly speaking, he wasn't lying.

After obtaining Storm's card, he indeed possessed the aptitude to learn magic.

The only problem was that his aptitude was not quite the same as the aptitude the Ancient One knew.

If the person saying these words to her right now wasn't Roy but someone else, the Ancient One would only think the other person had drunk too much.

Magical aptitude wasn't something one could just have casually.

From a magical perspective, whether a person could become a sorcerer was destined from the moment of birth; there was no such thing as not having it before and suddenly possessing magical aptitude later.

Of course, there were some exceptions.

For example, being suddenly favored or possessed by a certain Elder God or demon.

After a few seconds of silence, the Ancient One said to Roy: "You don't mind if I perform a spell to confirm it, do you?"

"Of course not!"

Roy replied.

"Good, follow me."

After saying that, the Ancient One turned and walked toward the reception room.

To her, whether it was in the reception room or not wouldn't affect her casting magic.

But to avoid some unnecessary trouble.

For instance, if others saw Roy, who was known as the blood angel, coming here, she still decided to take Roy to the reception room for confirmation.

Roy entered the The Sanctum Sanctorum and followed the Ancient One to the reception room he had been to twice before.

This time, the Ancient One didn't wait for him to sit down.

Just as he entered the reception room, the Ancient Onesuddenly turned around, and her right hand struck toward his chest.

For an ordinary person, the Ancient One's movement was very fast.

But for Roy, the Ancient One's movement was no different from slow motion.

He didn't dodge, allowing the Ancient One's right palm to hit his chest.

Then, the Ancient One showed a surprised expression.

Uh... has his soul always been this powerful?

The Ancient One's expression became a bit awkward.

She had originally intended to use the "Astral Projection Palm" to make Roy's soul leave his body and then let Roytravel through the multiverse in soul form to confirm if he really had magical aptitude.

In the movie, she used the same method to show Doctor Strange the existence of the multiverse.

However, she never expected that the "Astral Projection Palm," which had never failed before, would fail on Roy.

To be precise, her "Astral Projection Palm" didn't fail.

She failed to make Roy's soul leave his body purely because she underestimated Roy's soul strength.

Although Roy wasn't Storm and hadn't established a connection with Oshtur of the Vishanti or Gaea the Mother of Earth.

But regardless, he now possessed four ssr cards.

These four ssr cards didn't turn him into an Omega-Level Mutant, but they gave him strength not inferior to Magneto, Professor X, Storm, or Iceman, and a soul strength that far exceeded theirs.

Roy didn't know exactly how strong his soul had become.

But one thing he was sure of was that his soul strength definitely far exceeded normal levels.

The "Astral Projection Palm" cast by the Ancient Onefailed to push Roy's soul out of his body.

However, this was enough for her to confirm that Royindeed had the aptitude to learn magic.

Roy could even resist her "Astral Projection Palm."

Traveling through the multiverse in soul form and remaining conscious would certainly not be a problem.

The Ancient One withdrew her right hand and habitually opened her folding fan to wave it.

Subsequently, she said to Roy: "You're right, you indeed have the aptitude to learn magic."

"I can let you learn magic at Kamar-Taj."

"However, I have one requirement."

Roy wasn't surprised that the Ancient One would have an extra requirement and said calmly, "What requirement?"

"It's simple!"

"If Kamar-Taj no longer has a Sorcerer Supreme in the future, I hope you can take over the position of Sorcerer Supreme."

Sorcerer Supreme?

Me?

Roy immediately frowned.

Although the title of Sorcerer Supreme sounded quite good, and he could also become the Guardian of the Time Stone.

But he didn't have much interest in becoming the Sorcerer Supreme.

Even for the Vought Company he founded himself, he only occasionally fulfilled his duties as chairman and had no intention of interfering in daily management.

Letting him serve as the Sorcerer Supreme and manage the daily affairs of the The Sanctum Sanctorum and Kamar-Taj, he would naturally be even less interested.

"Can we change the condition?"

"For example, like last time, to help out once when the Sorcerer Supreme needs assistance."

Roy said to the Ancient One.

The Ancient One didn't give an answer immediately and fell into deep thought.

Time passed bit by bit.

After about ten seconds like this, the Ancient One spoke: "Fine!"

Hearing the Ancient One's answer, Roy finally breathed a sigh of relief.

If the Ancient One didn't agree, he would have to consider looking for the Darkhold or the Book of Vishanti.

"Then when can I start learning magic?"

Roy asked the Ancient One.

"Anytime."

"Whether it's here or at Kamar-Taj, you can come to learn at any time."

The Ancient One said slowly.

Although the Ancient One spoke very tactfully, Roy heard her subtext.

The books in the The Sanctum Sanctorum and Kamar-Tajwere not for loan and could only be browsed and read within the premises of the The Sanctum Sanctorum and Kamar-Taj.

Additionally, the Ancient One also hinted that he didn't need to "live on campus" like other sorcerers in Kamar-Tajand could be a day student.

"Good, I understand!"

Roy said slowly.

Seeing that he understood her subtext, the Ancient Onenodded with satisfaction and cast the signature Kamar-Taj portal magic in front of him.

The circular portal sparking with golden sparks quickly took shape.

The Ancient One didn't say a word and walked straight through.

Roy followed closely and arrived at Kamar-Taj on the other side of the portal.

Just as in his memory, there were many Sorcerer Apprentices who had not yet graduated in Kamar-Taj.

They wore gray and dark brown robes, respectively, either practicing magic alone or exchanging experiences in small groups.

Seeing the Ancient One, they all bowed to her and looked at Roy with surprise.

Clearly, they recognized Roy and knew he was that willful and powerful blood angel.

The Ancient One returned the greeting to these apprentices with a kind face.

Roy didn't pay attention to their stares and followed the Ancient One to one of the main halls.

"Please sit wherever you like.."

The Ancient One pointed to a futon on the floor and said.

Roy nodded and sat down on a nearby futon.

After he sat down, the Ancient One sat on the futon opposite him, looked at him seriously, and said slowly: "The language of the Mystic Arts has existed since the birth of civilization."

"These special languages are called spells by the masters."

"To put it in more common terms, the history of magicspells is as long as that of human civilization."

"Of course, you can also understand spells as programs and the source code for building the real World."

"We draw energy from other dimensions of the multiverse and combine it with spells to cast magic."

As the Ancient One spoke, she created a magic circle that seemed simple but had a multi-layered structure.

It seemed this was the first lesson of enrollment at Kamar-Taj!

Roy lamented in his heart.

Although it was the first time the Ancient One had said this to him, the Ancient One in the movie had also said similar things to Doctor Strange.

"Understood, I will study hard!"

Roy said quickly.

The Ancient One nodded and continued: "You can borrow the books you need from the library."

"In Kamar-Taj, knowledge is shared."

"However, not all spells can be put into practice."

"Black Magic is strictly forbidden."
