Chapter 107: Superman X Gets Closer to Unlocking. Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus: Come on, you're so weak.
Thanos, suddenly recovering his senses, immediately felt difficulty breathing and a chill run through his body. He quickly used the Reality Stone to grant himself the ability to survive in Outer Space. Looking at the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus before him, he was suspicious.
"Did he teleport himself here?" Thinking of Zhou Mo's previous abilities, Thanos felt it wouldn't be difficult for him to accomplish this.
Following the suspicion was sheer terror.
Having personally experienced the horror of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's strength, Thanos still felt lingering fear about what had just happened.
Under the intensity just now, it took immense effort for him to stabilize himself and use the Stones to protect the Warship. It was simply unimaginable how this large Dinosaur Man, without the aid of any Stone abilities, could unleash such immense power with a single punch.
"Even if I had used the Power Stone, it wouldn't have been much more than that." This fearful thought just surfaced, but Thanos immediately dismissed it: "No, the Power Stone is much stronger than this!"
"Therefore," Thanos raised his hand, clenching the gauntlet, and said in a deep voice, "did you teleport me here to fight me to the death?"
The Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, or more accurately Zhou Mo, looked in the direction behind Thanos, a meaningful smile playing on his lips, and remained silent.
In that brief instant just now, Superman X lit up again in Zhou Mo's mind. He sensed the aura of the Celestials, and this time the location scope was much smaller and more precise.
Imagining them watching him indifferently, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus smiled expectantly: "Time is running out."
These words, falling into Thanos's ears, became a declaration of his own death.
He really came here to kill me?!
Thanos's expression darkened. He glanced at the Space Stone but chose to abandon the idea. He could certainly teleport himself away, but since the other party was determined to kill him, he would just be teleported back, making it meaningless.
The Warship was also teleported nearby. Seeing this, the Black Order felt their hearts tighten: "So it wasn't Father who performed the space jump, but this human."
"What does he intend to do to Master?"
Speaking in fear and trepidation, the Black Ordersimultaneously scanned the massive amount of Warshipwreckage floating around the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus and Thanos, causing a chill to run down their spines.
They had followed Thanos in campaigns and conquests for many years and considered themselves knowledgeable. Yet, at this moment, they were shocked, their understanding shattered, and their backs felt cold.
Ebony Maw's tone was filled with apprehension: "Based on my understanding of Earth, humans do not look like this. Is he truly an Earthling? I've never seen this race in the Universe."
"Silence!" Assassin Star turned her head and rebuked sharply: "Do you think Master, empowered by the Stones, would lose to this Earthling?"
The retrieved Mind Stone had already settled into its corresponding spot on the gauntlet, and Thanos's power received a certain boost.
Ebony Maw suddenly realized his mistake and quickly lowered his head in apology: "I shouldn't have doubted Master's strength."
That's right! Ebony Maw was inwardly annoyed. How could he only focus on the Dinosaur Man and forget Master Thanos! When it comes to power, can the strength of any creature in the Universe surpass the Time Stone?
Was he scared of him? Ebony Maw secretly glanced at the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus again.
Just like before, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus was still smiling, silently looking into the distance without saying a word.
Their figures appeared in the news footage. The Warshipand the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus both returned to their original positions, allowing news satellites with less advanced technology than Stark Industries to see more clearly.
Although popularity was still soaring, the rolling comments in the chat box were much fewer than before. The power of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's punch had exceeded their comprehension, leaving them speechless with shock. Some netizens even began worshiping the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus as a God.
Even if Stark suddenly appeared at this moment and told them that Zhou Mo's previous Energon King Kong had punched and destroyed Dormammu and the Dark Dimension, the shock would not compare to what they were witnessing now.
The Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus could easily shatter the Earth they lived on with a single punch!
Netizens who felt this impact more keenly now discussed the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus with caution in their tone, even across the internet.
This isn't a dragon; it's a God!
...After learning the volume of Neptune, everyone was stunned, especially the illiterate Thor, whose eyes widened into circles.
However, this astonishment abruptly ceased when the Mind Stone on the gauntlet came into view. The news of Vision's death silenced the hospital room.
Stark, who hadn't spoken, wasn't emotionless; he was just contemplating a more important question: "So, is it true that the larger his size, the greater his strength?"
Everyone looked over at the sound. Meeting their gaze, Stark explained: "This is the only reasonable explanation I can think of for why he chose to increase his size."
Banner, who was standing with his arms crossed, nodded: "He inherently possesses the power to jump off Earth, but he lacks the greater power needed for his punch to be as terrifying as we saw."
Having so quickly deduced the characteristics of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's ability, everyone was lost in thought.
An ability that is inherently physically strong, receives a further power boost when the size increases? That is truly powerful and strange.
Suddenly remembering something, Thor's eyes lit up, and he quickly scanned the crowd: "The previous Giant!"
No need for further words; he had awakened those lost in thought. They also thought of Zhou Mo's previous Super Giant ability. Natasha's lips were dry, and she said, barely concealing her fear: "Zhou Mo can use two abilities simultaneously. If those two abilities are combined..."
When her voice fell, the hospital room became silent again. This simple arithmetic problem could be figured out even by thinking with their heels: A giant of immense size, combined with a Dinosaur Man whose strength increases with size—did they really need to think carefully about what would happen when they combined?
Stark smiled and drew the conclusion: "Yes, he will become incredibly powerful."
Understanding Stark's implication, Thanos was already preparing to fight desperately. At a time like this, Zhou Mo should not be able to spare attention for the Ancient One.
Although Thor wasn't the sharpest, he frowned, voicing his own worry: "Even if he uses the previous Giant form and gets another strength boost, can his power surpass the Power Stone?"
Stark was utterly speechless at this remark.
Zhou Mo no longer had limitations; did he still need to compete with Thanos in strength? Electric Lizard and Energon King Kong—which one could Thanos handle? Hmm?!
...Noting the coordinates, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus retracted his gaze: "One step closer to unlocking Superman X. Not bad."
Thanos, who had no idea what the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus was thinking, felt his heart clench when he saw the dinosaur look back at him. He maintained his previous authority in his tone: "It seems you intend to avenge Vision."
"Hmph, do you think I am certain to lose to you?" Thanossneered, and all the Stones on his raised gauntlet lit up.
In Thanos's view, Zhou Mo was operating on the standard Earthling logic—friendship, dreams, villages, and so on. He killed his friend, so now he sought revenge. Following this deduction, and knowing the fight to the death was unavoidable, Thanos boosted his own morale first.
Watching this Joker perform, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus clicked his tongue in boredom: "Should I let you make the first move, or should I go first?"
Thanos tucked in his chin and silently gritted his teeth. Fuck, it seems the fight really is unavoidable!
Since that's the case, he must seize the initiative immediately! A quick victory!
Connecting with the illuminated Space Stone, Thanosinstantly appeared out of thin air right in front of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus!
Another Stone was used simultaneously. Without hesitation, Thanos punched straight at the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's head!
"Bang!" Immediately after, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus raised a hand and blocked the punch. Tilting his head out from behind the massive palm, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus laughed and delivered that classic taunt.
"Come on, you're so weak."
His pupils suddenly contracted. Before he could think further, Thanos instantly teleported himself back. Staring at the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's massive body, a drop of cold sweat rolled down Thanos's forehead, leaving him speechless for a long time.
In the hospital room, Stark watched, his heart pounding: "He didn't use other abilities, nor Super Giant? He blocked the Power Stone using his own strength?"
He paused after speaking, the exclamation "How is that possible?" dying on his lips, only to be corrected by a speechless Thor: "Thanos didn't use the Power Stone; he used the Reality Stone."
"Presumably," Thor continued, shifting his gaze back to the screen, "he must have replicated the punch from Zhou Mo's new ability just now."
Judging that this was indeed the case, Stark breathed a sigh of relief.
Thank goodness it wasn't. If it were, that would be terrifying. Zhou Mo just casually unlocks an ability that can stand against the Power Stone? That makes no sense.
Huh?!
Suddenly realizing something, Stark's heart leaped again. He noticed that Zhou Mo hadn't used the Super Giantability, nor any other abilities. Was he truly planning... to use this large Dinosaur Man to directly confront the Power Stone?!
Chapter 108 – The Celestials: "Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus is so weak—… huh?!"
Staring at Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, Thanosknit his brow, cold sweat sliding down his back. Just as Thor had guessed, he had used the Reality Stone to duplicate the earlier punch of Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus.
In Thanos's eyes, the force unleashed by that punch was far stronger than rashly using the Power Stone right off the bat!
But to his shock, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurushad simply raised a hand and blocked that terrifying blow. It was the very punch Thanos had just delivered himself—how could the creature's physique be this strong?
His body tensing with nerves and realizing the Reality Stone could no longer help much, Thanos's mind raced to devise other tactics.
"Looks like only the Space Stone and the Power Stonecan help me," he muttered inwardly, clenching the gauntlet again. "Maybe the Mind Stone as well."
While quickly re-centering himself, Thanos noticed something puzzling: during the two seconds he'd been thinking, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus hadn't pressed the attack. Instead, the creature casually folded its arms and stared past him with a meaningful look.
Its attention clearly wasn't on him.
"Is something sneaking up behind me?" Thanoswondered, picturing an ambush. Scanning with the Reality Stone, he found nothing at his back; the Warshipsat off to the side, nowhere in Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's line of sight.
"What is it looking at?" The uncertainty unsettled him. Wasn't this Earthling supposed to be fighting to the death to avenge his comrades? Why, once battle was joined, was the creature ignoring him and staring behind him?
A trap—or something else?
A pair of smiling eyes gazed into the cosmic depths as Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus chuckled, "Done watching?"
The voice carried across the void, making Odin's pupils contract. Was the creature… speaking to him? It had sensed them! Odin whipped his gaze toward the Celestials; on their faces he caught traces of bewilderment.
They, too, were taken aback—this Earthling apparently knew they were observing. How?
Within the Celestial domain, they existed in a state of absolute unobservability. Not even the peak single-Universe-level Energon King Kong, let alone a multiverse-level being, could perceive them unless they willed it.
So how had this Earthling known it was they who were watching? In the Universe, teleportation magic-users were as common as oxen hair.
A titanic eye lowered, pouring out a deep, regal murmur: "King of Gods—what is this Earthling's name?"
Odin blurted with delight, "Zhou Mo!"
The instant the name left his lips, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's amused voice returned, "Watching from so far away is boring. If you want a show, why not come right in front of me?"
The taunt narrowed several eyes. Odin nearly laughed aloud—this was exactly what he had hoped for! If the Celestials went, they could erase the creature with a wave; who would be left to taunt them?
Earth's livestream rendered the words through lip-reading; simple subtitles appeared, and the planet fell silent. Viewers glanced around the footage but saw no one else. The same question arose in every mind: Who is he talking to?!
In the hospital room Stark blinked thoughtfully, wondering if the words were meant for him—then, looking at his own battered body, dismissed the idea, even more puzzled.
Zhou Mo knew he was too injured to move; why invite him to Outer Space for a ringside seat?
Thor focused on another point. Facing Zhou Mo—who had nearly killed his father—he fought to stay calm: "He really isn't going to use any other forms?"
As he spoke, Thor swept his gaze across the room; the same confusion showed on every face, finally settling on Stark, who was equally lost.
It baffled Stark too. Zhou Mo could clearly empower himself with other forms. Pairing with that previous titan alone would spike his strength a notch.
Even that might not beat the Power Stone, but at least it would show seriousness. Instead, Zhou Mo not only refrained from other forms but even tucked his arms across his chest—what was the point?
Wasn't he worried Thanos might flash forward and punch again? If the Titan did, this Dinosaur Man would have no way to respond!
Eyes glued to the screen, Stark murmured, "Is the Power Stone's strength truly infinite?"
Thor shot him an incredulous look. "Well, of course it is."
"The rules of power are set by it, and it can break them at will. Put simply, in terms of raw strength, even the Hulk is less than one ten-thousandth of the Power Stone."
Banner gave Thor an awkward glance, unable to argue; Thanos hadn't even used the Power Stone when he beat the Hulk into hiding, so with it the result would be the same.
Thor's certainty deepened Stark's frown. "Then none of this makes sense—what is Zhou Mo planning?!"
He won't use Electric Lizard or Energon King Kong, both capable of blasting Thanos apart. He won't use Super Giant to boost himself, nor even Wild Demon Vine for mind-control immunity. Couldn't he at least pick one?
His bewilderment deepening, Stark's features were practically twisting together. Was he really going to pit this strength-type Dinosaur Man against the Power Stone—one of the very laws that governed the Universe? And Thanos had more than one gem in his hand!
Under normal circumstances Stark believed no one would be stupid enough to try. But this was Zhou Mo—the Zhou Mo who'd pulled off countless bewildering stunts. Taking a slow breath, Thanos lifted his chin. "I want you to know I'm not bloodthirsty, nor did I come here determined to kill your companion Vision. If possible, I'd prefer he stay alive."
"I only want the gem in his forehead."
Pulling his attention back from the depths of space, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's grin turned bored, his tone dripping grievance. "Enough talk. Let's get on with it."
From the moment he'd started speaking barely 1.5 seconds had passed—time enough for the Celestials to arrive. Against them Zhou Mo was confident he could use Electric Lizard and Energon King Kong to take them all public!
Pity—they hadn't shown. Zhou Mo cursed the cowardsunder his breath.
Expression stiffening, Thanos drew another breath and spread his arms. "I think we might still talk. I've roamed the Universe for eons and seen much; perhaps if I share what I've felt, I can earn your understanding."
Realizing Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus was stronger than expected, Thanos made a final effort; his goal was cosmic population control, not pointless death.
The words amused Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus. "Oh? A veteran here too? Hahaha, how grand."
The naked contempt and provocation wiped every trace of calm from Thanos's face; his teeth clenched silently. "A shame—looks like there's nothing left to discuss."
As the words fell, Thanos's aura exploded upward.
"Then what are you waiting for?" Still folding his arms, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus smiled back. Zhou Mo was making a last attempt; rather than chasing those cowards, luring them out seemed smarter.
Hmm, for that he'd need one hell of a punch.
Though Thanos spoke, his body remained motionless, warily watching Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurusfor ages—afraid Zhou Mo might suddenly switch forms and kill him. Watching, Odin folded his arms in irritation and muttered at the screen, "Stop dithering. If it were me, you'd already be dead ten times over."
Glancing back at the Power Stone on Thanos's gauntlet, Odin silently added, "Of course, that's assuming no Power Stone."
A majestic voice of a Celestial behind him carried clear displeasure: "Could you keep silent, King of Gods?"
Odin turned; the huge eyes met his, their pressure making him flinch. He instinctively defended, "I'm only showing you how terrifying Zhou Mo is."
A cold grunt; the giant eyes slowly closed, no longer interested. "Were it not for your request, why would we have exposed ourselves?"
Odin froze, realizing Zhou Mo had probably traced the Celestials through the aura revealed in their earlier teleport.
"So it wasn't that he's so powerful he found this place on his own?" Odin was surprised—and oddly comforted. Looks like Zhou Mo still isn't a threat to the Celestials.
"This is merely a minor farce in the Universe's normal evolution, King of Gods. You worry too much; when convenient, you may return."
"Yes, keep watching. The Zhou Mo you speak of will perish beneath those little trinkets."
No time to marvel at the Celestials calling Infinity Stones'little trinkets'; Odin watched the huge eyes close one by one. They'd lost interest in watching.
Turning back in a daze, Odin even had the absurd thought: Why does Zhou Mo suddenly seem so weak?
Had Zhou Mo shown Electric Lizard plus Energon King Kong, Odin was sure the watching Celestials would have marked him a threat and erased him.
But now he really planned to pit this mighty Dinosaur Man against the Power Stone—one of the very laws of the Universe?
His mind turning to mush, Odin raised a brow in utter complexity. "Does… does he stand any chance?"
"So… Zhou Mo might actually die to the Power Stone?"
Odin stood rooted, hair whipping in an imaginary wind. "Who the hell could've seen this coming?!"
Right then, Odin saw Thanos—move!
After studying Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus and confirming those folded arms weren't about to drop, Thanos seized the final instant, activating both the Space and Power Stones to flash directly in front of him!
Arm cocked back, fist clenched, Thanos's whole hand shook as the Power Stone's berserk energy flooded in.
Aimed between Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's eyes, Thanos unleashed a savage punch with a guttural roar!
At that instant Stark saw Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's pupils lock onto Thanos—yet not only did he use no other power, those arms stayed folded. Was he… trying to die?!
Sensing it, Thanos felt wild joy surge inside him.
It worked!
Chapter 109: Stark's scalp tingled from Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus! What the hell kind of power is this?
Even as he closed in on Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, Thanos still spared a sliver of attention to sense Zhou Mo's transformation—ready to retreat the instant Zhou Mo swapped forms.
But now, with his fist already inches from Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's face, Thanos still hadn't detected any sign of a switch!
He could even feel his own aura, surging with the punch, pierce through Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's aura and land on the other's face!
It's done!
Ecstasy erupted in his heart; Thanos instantly poured every ounce of focus into this single strike.
Power kept skyrocketing. As the fist accelerated, the surrounding space reached its limit and cracked. The dark cosmos split, revealing a faint violet glow within.
The shattering spanned wider than the thirty-meter-tall Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's head. If you looked closely, you'd see the purple fracture stretching even farther as the fist carved forward.
From a distance, it looked like purple lightning stabbing toward Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's skull.
Thanos didn't understand why Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus was doing this, but he was confident! Aimed at the Glabella, he would punch straight through the skull with the Power Stone. From this angle, at this distance, a Power Stone-charged strike—even if Zhou Moswitched forms now—couldn't be stopped!
At this moment, Thanos felt grateful he'd collected the Power Stone.
As for Zhou Mo not switching forms to face him? Thanosfigured that wasn't his fault.
To outside observers, Thanos's fist seemed to have already landed on Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's brow. But from a perfect side angle, Stark could see the fist was only infinitely close—still a hair's breadth away.
In the hospital room, Stark was numb from watching.
Whether the fist had connected no longer mattered; what mattered was that Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurusstill hadn't reacted! He just stood there like a living target, motionless!
Stark had seen plenty of Zhou Mo's baffling moves before, but this… he'd never seen anything like it. This wasn't confusion—it was suicide!
Exposing your vital point to the enemy? What kind of move is that?!
Recalling the formidable defense Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus had just shown, Stark's heart skipped. Wait—Zhou Mo couldn't possibly believe his new form's head could tank a full-force Power Stone punch, could he?!!
Spotting the savage strain on Thanos's face, Starkpanicked. Without being on-site, that expression alone told him how violently Thanos's aura was climbing.
No need to guess—Thanos was putting every last ounce of strength into this! Under these conditions, not even Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus could endure it; even the far tougher Energon King Kong would crack and leak that green fluid from a direct Glabella hit!
Zhou Mo… what the hell are you doing??!!
…Meanwhile, deep in the cosmos.
Most of the giant eyes behind him had already closed, uncaring. Odin stared, equally dumbstruck, mind blank, unable to speak. For an instant he even wondered if he were dreaming.
Zhou Mo, killed just like that? …By a Thanos who isn't even Father-Class?
His mouth opened, panting unconsciously, as Odininwardly muttered: "Could it be because of the Celestials?"
Odin knew the Power Stone's might; he was pondering why Zhou Mo stayed still. Thanos couldn't achieve that—if he could, he wouldn't have hesitated and trash-talked for so long earlier.
The only plausible explanation was the Celestials acting. He himself had sensed nothing, yet they had already teleported Thanos in front of Zhou Mo as a touchstone.
Now, without either him or Zhou Mo noticing, they had temporarily seized Zhou Mo's consciousness. For the Celestials, Odin believed, this was effortless and trivial.
A mix of joy and anger tugged his mouth into an upward curve; a smile appeared on Odin's face. "So this is why the Celestials said Zhou Mo would be dealt with by a 'little toy'?"
New York, rooftop of a Short Building. Gwen and Wandawatched the giant screen on the Plaza Tower and were equally stunned into blankness.
Gwen had no time to scold Zhou Mo for ignoring her advice; only one thought echoed in her mind: "Zhou Molooks like he's about to die again."
Having gone through similar scenes several times, Gwenkept her emotions fairly steady. Her nerves taut, she stared unblinking at the live feed, desperate to know if events would follow the same pattern as before.
Zhou Mo couldn't really be stupid enough to commit suicide, could he?
None of their group who knew Zhou Mo understood what he was doing—let alone netizens across the World. In the silent square, the next second Gwen's heart leapt and then settled as she exhaled in relief.
"I knew it."
As Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus suddenly whipped his tail, everyone's mind filled in the dull "thud" they imagined hearing.
With this imagined dull thud, Thanos—who had stepped right in front of Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, his fist a hair's breadth from its brow—was sent flying by a tail swipe, eyes rolling back as he tumbled through the air.
"Whew—" A collective long exhale swept across the plaza while everyone patted their chests in lingering fear. Someone in the crowd sighed, "I thought our kin had been mentally paralyzed by this purple potato."
In the ward.
No time for relief; forgetting the pain, Stark's body tensed on instinct, pupils contracting sharply.
"He beat the Power Stone?!"
Stark's incredulous shout made every Avenger glued to the screen flinch.
Friday's tech and battle-hardened nerves let them see it clearly!
An instant ago, meeting Thanos's punch, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's tail had whipped from behind at a speed the eye couldn't follow, lashed across the Titan's fist and flung him away.
Moments earlier their minds had blanked from bafflement at Zhou Mo's move; now the blankness came because the scene defied belief. Thor lowered his head, shaking it repeatedly, muttering, "This is impossible."
Before, Zhou Mo overcame Ronan's Power Stone partly because Ronan lacked finesse, partly because Crystal Warrior could absorb that terrifying energy.
Now there was no absorption—pure head-on clash—and Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus sent the Power Stone flying with one tail? Impossible!
Still murmuring, Thor grew agitated: "Impossible! The Power Stone embodies the universal law of force—how could Zhou Mo's new form swat it aside? How could it lose to him in raw strength?!"
"Could it—!" Thor jerked his head up, aghast. "Is the stone in Thanos's hand a fake?"
It was the only explanation he could grasp; otherwise how could Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurusoverpower the Power Stone?!
Utterly impossible!
After hurtling a distance, Thanos regained awareness; with a jolt of his hand he barely stabilized himself.
His aura now a far cry from before, he knelt on one knee in the void, one palm braced, the other clutching his chest as blood gushed out in endless spurts.
Struggling to lift his head toward Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, Thanos's eyes held only terror.
"Never imagined this Dinosaur Man's tail could explode with such power!" he gritted, humiliated. "How stupid of me to forget that tail!"
Calming himself, Thanos shakily rose. "So besides the size boost, your tail is your hidden ace."
Still lounging with arms folded, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus flicked its tail near its head and grinned. "You finally noticed?"
Lowering his gaze, Thanos gave a wry smile. "Does it have a codename?"
The name was on the tip of Zhou Mo's tongue, but he thought of something cooler and lifted his chin.
"I am Milk Dragon—!"
"Milk Dragon…" Thanos blinked, lost in thought.
Deep in space, Odin still couldn't accept it. "Thanos must be finished. This Milk Dragon's strength can actually kill Thanos empowered by the Power Stone?"
He stared blankly for two seconds, recalling Zhou Mo's Electric Lizard and Energon King Kong, and twitched: these absurd things felt perfectly reasonable on Zhou Mo.
"But this should make the Celestials realize Zhou Mo's terror—his newly unlocked Milk Dragon form just defeated the Power Stone!"
Eyes brightening, Odin turned to warn the Celestials—only to find them already awake, all staring in unison at the giant magical projection.
Reading their grave expressions, Odin was about to ask why when he sensed something and his pupils shrank!
A cold bead of sweat slid down his forehead.
Ignoring everything else, Odin whipped his gaze back to the projection.
In the Earth ward, silence reigned.
Thor was too stunned to speak; Stark's wide eyes trembled as he questioned reality itself!
In the hush that blanketed the Universe, the crisp crack of the Power Stone shattering rang out clearly.
"Crack!"
"Crack-crack!"
Before Thanos, the Power Stone lost its glow, fracturing and collapsing.
His heart felt caged, pounding to escape; every hair stood on end, scalp tingling. Stark was shaken beyond words!
With that single tail strike, Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus had not only slain Thanos backed by the Power Stone—it had actually smashed the Power Stone itself??!
Chapter 110: We Must Quickly Unlock the Clock KingFrom the Ancient One! The Ancient One Appeared?!
In the silent moment of the Universe, the Power Stonekept shattering, and after bursting a blinding flash, it crumbled into dust.
"How could this be?" Odin muttered in disbelief. He could accept it if the Power Stone had been broken with another stone or Energon King Kong, but how did Zhou Mo's newly unlocked Dinosaur Man manage all this?
Staring blankly at the projected silhouette of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, Odin wanted to know the source of its power. At least there should be an explanation.
Witnessing the Power Stone shatter, Thanos followed, his eyes turned white and his breath vanished as he naturally fell downward.
"Master!"
"Father!" The Black Order hurriedly used the Warship's teleport function to summon Thanos back. Kneeling before Thanos's corpse, the five mourned.
The Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, arms crossed, smugly said, "The Divine Power Tyrannosaurus obviously can't do that, but I am the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus! Oh no, I am the Milk Dragon!!"
Strangely, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus felt cute~
With the ultimate title, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus is stronger than the Divine Power Tyrannosaurus. Meanwhile, because Electric Lizarddevoured two streams of divine power, the overflowed energy in the clumsy watch also fed other alien heroes, further boosting its strength.
This is why Zhou Mo believes the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus can achieve this. Even without enlarging its body, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus is already stronger than the enlarged Divine Power Tyrannosaurus! After expanding, it gains a bit of the Universe‑destroying divine power.
Accomplishing this is just a drop in the bucket.
"We will avenge our Master!" Assassin Star stopped crying, twisted his head sharply, and glared at the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus with murderous intent, wanting to devour it whole.
"Yes, but not now! We must leave first and never forget the Master's great deeds!" Ebony Maw barked, rejecting Assassin Star's plan.
Silence answered, and the now‑calm Black Order realized that facing the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosauruswas nothing more than a moth flying into a flame. With a single command, the Warship's engines roared back to life.
"You don't think I'll let you go, do you?" The Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus showed little interest in them, but finally lowered its crossed arms.
The scene clearly showed a certain distance between the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus and the Warship.
His heart still unsettled, Stark stared intently and said gravely, "If I'm not mistaken, this ultimate… never mind, this Milk Dragon can't fly."
The question was obvious; Stark wanted to know how the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus could destroy the Warship.
Under Stark's gaze, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus dropped its hand, stretched it straight, and formed a cross shape. Just before clapping, Zhou Morecalled another ability of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, got excited, inhaled deeply, and let out a full‑bore roar.
"Ah—!"
With the roar, everyone inside the Warship, including the Black Order, was terrified to the point their souls seemed to fly out. Their bodies stiffened, faces turned deathly pale, and they could not move.
It turned out the effect of the roar had little to do with raw strength.
The sound was captured by a magical projection; Odin, trembling with fear, completely forgot to observe the Warship. Regaining composure, he felt uneasy and wondered, "Strange, I'm at a safe distance, why am I scared?"
He then glanced at the Warship, seeing faint silhouettes of terrified people through the glass. Furrowing his brow, Odin muttered, "I am the King of the Gods, Father-Class, why am I afraid?"
"I am the Milk Dragon!!!" With another roar, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus slapped its hands together; the impact sent conspicuous ripples racing toward the Warship. Before anyone could react, the ripples struck, and the Warship exploded into a fireball.
In Times Square, humans erupted in cheers, waving their hands in celebration.
"Milk Dragon! Milk Dragon! Milk Dragon!"
"Shit! He's too strong!"
"No matter what, humanity won!"
Above the crowd, Gwen and Wanda on the rooftop sighed in relief. Gwen patted her chest, exhaled, and thought the situation had unfolded exactly as expected; Zhou Mo just loves to make her mess things up.
She then looked behind herself, thinking this was the perfect moment to leave. Otherwise, being chased by the crowd would be a hassle. So she did just that, swinging away like a spider thread as Spider-Man slipped away silently.
The live‑stream chat appeared on the hospital TV.
Stark's eye muscles twitched: "If I'm not mistaken, the sound Zhou Mo generated with his slap was ultrasonic, right?"
After a brief pause, Stark raised an eyebrow, his emotions flaring: "First a tail shattered the Power Stone that represents universal law, now a slap creates Ultrasonic Waves to destroy a Warship!"
"And you tell me you're called Milk Dragon??! Milk?! Dragon?!"
Stark felt like vomiting; this is no different from a two‑meter‑tall, 150‑kilogram man calling himself a little girl! Anyway, I'll keep calling you the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus!
Sparks from the exploding Warship flew toward the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus. Stark saw it dodge slightly, froze, and thought, "Is its weakness fire?"
The crisis was over. Seeing the Celestials had not arrived, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus reluctantly used the recoil from its slap to return to Earth. It only possesses limited Outer Space survivability, so it cannot stay long.
Deep in the Universe, after the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus broke through the Atmosphere and vanished, Odin's lingering fear never faded.
It was assumed Thanos could kill Zhou Mo with the Power Stone, a representation of universal law, but unexpectedly, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's tail swipe took out both the Power Stone and Thanos!
That damn thing is the Power Stone that represents the universal power rules! It was shattered by the sheer brute force of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus?! Isn't that saying the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus can crush the Power Stone?!
And this happened even though Zhou Mo didn't use any other abilities!
If he had used the Super Giant's size‑increase and paired it with the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus's larger, stronger form, Odin might have barely accepted it... but he didn't!
Odin's mind went blank for two seconds, then his emotions flared again.
This is no ordinary Mutant; a heavy‑handed strike is required!
Odin turned his head, suppressed his inner joy, and said with a hint of unhidden pride, "I think you all have seen that Zhou Mo's power can overturn the universal power rules."
"One point I must clarify!" Odin's face grew serious. "This is merely the ability he just evolved! Yes, with just the freshly evolved ability, he already achieved this."
"If he continues to grow, infinite evolution... I wonder what will happen," Odin said, scanning the Celestials' massive eyes in turn. "You can probably imagine it."
The voice fell silent with no response; the Celestialslowered their gaze and stared silently at Odin, saying nothing.
Seemingly forced by the silence, Odin impatiently urged, "Now is the best time to erase him, or seal him—anyway, we can't let him keep evolving!"
"If we don't act now... I guarantee you will regret it!" After speaking, seeing no reaction from them, Odin, frantic, added, "It'll be too late then!"
The voice lingered longer before finally returning. It wasn't as solemn or urgent as Odin expected; instead, it remained as calm as water, just like before.
"God King, I must remind you, the so‑called Power Stoneis nothing more than a tiny toy. If you want, I can craft one for you right now."
Hearing this, Odin's eyes widened in disbelief, puzzling over his own existence.
Zhou Mo's new ability shattered the Power Stone with a single tail swipe; the Celestials not only called the Power Stone a toy, but could also forge another on the spot?
No, that's not right! When did the Infinity Stones become so cheap?!
Another voice whispered gently while slowly closing its eyes, "Yes, all of this is merely the Universe's normal evolution."
"God King, you're being overly sensitive."
With his eyes closing one after another, Odin completely lost his composure.
Dormammu was killed by him, and now the Power Stonehas been shattered by Zhou Mo—this! Still normal evolution of the Universe? What kind of evolution could produce such a monster?!
"At the very least, you should sense Zhou Mo's future, just catch a glimpse! Even a single glance—I believe you'll discover everything!" Odin anxiously made his final attempt toward the last pair of eyes.
Perhaps because his companions were asleep, less attention made Him more carefree, and a clear sneer slipped from those huge eyes: "I didn't expect that tiny Earthling could break a little toy and elicit such a reaction from the God King. Heh, perhaps this is the gap between us and you."
"If you wish, keep watching," his speech slowed, the massive eyes slowly closing: "You will eventually realize none of this is surprising."
After the eyes closed, the deep cosmos fell silent, and no matter how Odin called, the sleeping Celestials remained unresponsive.
"F***!" Odin, frantic, clutched his head and let out a vulgar expletive.
He didn't understand—at this moment, the Celestialsonly needed to use their perception to sense Zhou Mo, and they could grasp why his emotions were so agitated and fearful!
But this simple, unbelievably simple operation was something they were too lazy to perform? How arrogant can they be!!!
In the projection, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus returned to Earth and resumed human form; Zhou Mo walked with his hands in his pockets, humming an odd song, "I am Milk Dragon, I am Milk Dragon."
At this moment Zhou Mo clearly had no story left, and with the deep‑space, death‑like, terrifying silence, Odingradually calmed down.
A memory of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurusavoiding fire floated in his mind; Odin suddenly felt that the Celestials were not arrogant but indifferent.
And their indifference seemed to have a reason. Though terrifyingly powerful, the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus feared fire... it didn't even need the Celestials to intervene! Even Earthlings seemed capable of destroying it?
...Realizing this, Odin instantly dispelled the aura of the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus, understood its weakness, and then looked at it—seemed not strong at all... Electric Lizard and Energon King Kong awakened the fear in Odin's eyes: "I know Zhou Mo's other strengths appear extremely weak to you! Indeed, after learning his weakness, I think the same."
"But! You must pay attention to Electric Lizard and Energon King Kong!"
Odin turned to the Celestials, shouting anxiously, yet as always, they gave no response... Zhou Mo, of course, wouldn't stay in the crowded city; in this deserted suburb he walked leisurely: "Heh, another unlock, another power up."
The burst flames didn't actually scare the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus; Zhou Mo just remembered its fear of fire and electricity and dodged. If Earthlings really used flamethrowers or similar gear against it...
Zhou Mo said, setting aside whether the Ultimate Divine Power Tyrannosaurus would just stand still and let the opponent burn—does that mean his other abilities don't exist?! Fire Man is messing with you.
"Then next, we need to find a way to unlock the Clock King with Ancient One." Zhou Mo steered the plan back on track.
Suddenly, as he stepped, he felt Ancient One's presence!
The place of appearance turned out to be... Gwen's home?!
Chapter 111 – Ancient One Waiting for the Rabbit, the Only Chance to Kill Zhou Mo! The Restless Clock King!
Officer George, just through the door, braced one hand against the wall while hugging a bulging grocery bag with the other, frozen mid-motion as he toed off his left shoe with his right heel.
Gwen, now in plain clothes, panicked; she flicked a glance at her father, then snapped her gaze back to Ancient Oneon the sofa and stabbed a finger at the door. "Get out of my house—now!"
Ancient One sat cross-legged on the couch, eyes closed in meditation, her tone nowhere near as affectionate as the endearment: "Relax, dear. You're not my target."
Gwen hissed again, "I don't care what your target is! Restore my dad, then get the hell out!"
A faint smile curved Ancient One's lips. "Sorry, but I won't leave until Zhou Mo arrives. Don't worry—I won't harm you or your father."
The name Zhou Mo made Gwen's heart skip; her face paled. Ancient One was here for Zhou Mo—why?
She instantly recalled Stark's earlier warning; muscles and mind silently tensing, Gwen turned toward the bookcase, keeping up an all-American teen act: "Zhou who? I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Either way, you broke into our house. If you don't leave, you know exactly what I'll do to you."
Using her body as a shield, Gwen slipped her hand behind the books and closed her fingers around the hidden pistol. Drive Ancient One out, warn Zhou Mo—that was the plan hammering in her head.
Sensing Gwen's grip on the gun, Ancient One opened her eyes, amusement coloring her voice: "So Spider-Man's first instinct is to draw a firearm?"
Gwen's face drained of color; blond hair whipped as she spun, eyes wide with alarm.
She knows my real identity?!
A sidelong glance at her motionless father made Gwen's heart race even faster.
Confirming by his unnaturally still chest that he remained frozen in time—and unable to hear—she took two seconds to steady herself, released the pistol, and stepped up to Ancient One like a different person. "What do you want with him?"
The eye of agamotto flashed green across her chest; Ancient One closed her eyes again. "Erase him."
The word ignited Gwen's fury. "Who gave you the right to decide someone's life or death?"
Gwen's challenge sparked anger in Ancient One; eyes snapping open, they held both bewilderment and resentment: "Because he was never meant to exist!"
Unintentionally raising her voice, Ancient One made Gwen's heart lurch; confusion crept across the girl's face.
Never meant to exist? Why couldn't she understand what this sorceress was saying?
This time Ancient One kept her eyes open, fixing Gwenwith a stare as she voiced her conjecture, seeking understanding: "You know I can manipulate time."
Gwen glanced at her father and answered silently: Thanks for the tip.
"I examined the timeline. In this World, Zhou Mo was never supposed to be. Dormammu's death, Odin's flight, Thanos's demise—none of those were meant to happen!"
Gwen gaped; Ancient One pressed on: "Erasing Zhou Mois something I must do. Afterward, I'll restore the timeline."
"Wait—so you're saying..." Gwen's brows knit in disbelief, "Dormammu should stay alive? And Thanos—" she jabbed a thumb skyward "—the guy who invaded Earth—should live too?!"
She'd never heard anything more absurd in her life.
Those two super-villains had always coveted Earth; while they lived, the planet would never know peace. Their deaths were a blessing to every force on the globe.
Zhou Mo had done good—saved Earth and ended their threat. How could Ancient One call that wrong?
"Yes!" Ancient One held Gwen's gaze, her answer absolute: "They should live!"
Gwen threw her head back with a scoff. "So after you kill Zhou Mo, you'll bring them back?" She locked eyes with Ancient One, pressing for an answer.
Ancient One nodded, eyes blazing. "Then I will erase every trace that Zhou Mo ever existed."
Gwen froze, not comprehending, yet feeling her heart clenched by a sudden, ominous premonition.
"When it's done..." Ancient One calmed, slowly shutting her eyes, "you'll forget me—and Zhou Mo. Just like everyone else in the World."
Her seized heart, freed from its cage, exploded in her chest. Gwen's gaze quivered; instinctively frightened, she stepped back. She didn't know why—only that her Spider-Sense screamed to run from the madwoman before her.
Two steps back, then a forceful stride forward—Gwenfound the idea absurd and shouted, "You're going to erase my memories?!"
The Ancient One answered with silence—an unmistakable yes.
Emotions still surged in her chest, yet facing the Ancient One, Gwen had no words. Zhou Mo's figure flickered through her mind again and again; her heart berated her for ignoring its warning and throbbed with the same order: stay away from the Ancient One.
Back when Dormammu had threatened the Sanctum Sanctorum, Gwen—then as Spider-Man—had dealt with the Ancient One. That was the first time she'd seen both the sorcerer's might and cunning.
So when she heard the threat, her subconscious instantly believed it could be done.
Every moment spent with Zhou Mo flashed through her mind like a slideshow; the panic she felt now came from the looming theft of those memories.
"The Ancient One is going to wipe Zhou Mo from my mind?" The sentence echoed; panic mounted, yet she was powerless—no match for this formidable mage.
While Gwen stood frozen in shock, the Ancient Onespoke as though reading her thoughts: "Not erase—alter."
Snapped back to her senses, Gwen lowered her head; the fury blazing in her eyes struck the sorcerer like a physical blow.
"You'll forget Zhou Mo. You'll fall for the man you were always meant to love; he will replace Zhou Mo in your memories."
"His name is…" The Ancient One paused to recall. "Peter Parker, isn't it?"
Unable to bear another word, Gwen hurled a furious punch. "You have no right to tamper with my memories!"
Peter Parker? I don't even know the guy!!!
Her fist met an invisible shield of magic and she was hurled backward—yet before she could crash into the wall, an irresistible spell caught and held her fast.
"Yes, I do have the right."
The instant those words fell, the Ancient One's overbearing might washed over her; in that tide of power Gwen felt as insignificant as an ant.
Her taut mind snapped. All fight drained away; tears streaming, she whispered, "No… please don't do this."
The girl's tear-choked plea clashed starkly with the Ancient One's machine-like calm.
A sovereign need not heed her subject's wishes. Ignoring Gwen, the sorcerer rewrote her life: "I'll help you love him. Hm, he's a bit slow. Let me put it another way: I'll make you love him, and the two of you will return to the relationship fate intended."
Gwen tore at the unseen bonds with every shred of strength, but the magic cocooning her was like cotton—rip away one layer and another took its place. She could not break free.
This time her outstretched hands weren't to fight but to beg; her tears turned to sobs. "No, I beg you… please don't do this!"
She couldn't accept it—and the cruelest part was that once it happened, she would never even know it had.
In an instant she would forget Zhou Mo, and in the next, under the Ancient One's design, love another man.
Given the choice, Gwen would rather die—but before the Ancient One, even death was beyond her reach.
"No, no—I beg you, please don't do this."
The girl's broken pleas were ignored; the Ancient Onedrew a relieved breath. "Now I only need to wait for him to arrive."
With that, the sorcerer settled into meditation, calmly awaiting Zhou Mo.
It was the better plan: instead of hunting Zhou Mo across the World, seize the one he loves, control her, and simply wait for him to appear.
After observing Zhou Mo for so long, the Ancient Oneknew nearly every weakness of his abilities—confirmed now by the Time Stone's foresight.
When Zhou Mo arrived, she would freeze him in time and kill him.
He would die horribly—very, very horribly.
"This is my—" Sensing the Time Stone's warm pulse within, the Ancient One smiled and corrected herself: "More precisely, it is the Time Stone's only chance."
And right now—
Zhou Mo, stepping into the public eye, was in a bar buying Jamie Madrox a Beer.
More precisely, he was treating the Mutant known as Copycat—or Multiple Man—to a drink.
Concealing the cold hatred he felt for the Ancient One, ignoring the frantic flickers of Clock King, Zhou Mo smiled broadly.
Chapter 112 – Clone Man, you're my beloved kin, my brother in arms! Dido unlocking!
Sensing Zhou Mo push the door open, the Milk Dragon's cheers inside the bar never ceased; middle-aged bruisers and edgy young women raised their mugs in salute to him.
With his peripheral vision he glanced toward Jamie at the counter, then waved at the crowd, trying his best to look enthusiastic.
Spotting a couple necking in the dark corner, the woman's slip-dress back revealing a huge runic tattoo, Zhou Mocouldn't help but sigh at how decadent American private life could be—so casual! The spaghetti strap was almost torn off by the guy.
Aren't they afraid of a wardrobe malfunction?
Stopping every few steps to pose for photos with who-knows-how-many people, Zhou Mo finally made it through the crowd. At once he met Jamie's gaze.
Beer mug lifted mid-air, the tipsy Jamie turned to stare; when the figure before him perfectly matched the newsreel in his mind, he sobered, eyes sparkling.
Seeing Zhou Mo approach, he jumped up and blurted, "You're the Asian hero who beat back the alien army this morning?!"
Noticing the empty stool beside Jamie, Zhou Mo smiled and walked over; as he sat he patted Jamie back down: "Sharp eyes—didn't think anyone spotted me. All right, yes, that was me."
A few still-sober patrons blinked thoughtfully—had he been disguised?
Most of Jamie's drunken thoughts were asleep; he didn't ponder it. Sitting sideways to Zhou Mo, face flushed, he said, "D'you know, mate? I wanna be exactly like you."
The words reminded him of painful memories; Jamie's eyes dimmed, then brightened again. "Can I take a selfie with you, bro? Oh—d'you remember Jean? She mentioned you."
Zhou Mo sized him up, data surfacing in his mind: Mutant, student of Professor X, alcoholic, lab assistant somewhere.
With a generous wave Zhou Mo said, "Bro, selfies in a place like this? C'mon—drinks are on me. Bartender, two of your best Beers!"
Feeling the Eastern knight-errant aura wash over him, Jamie stared, then turned outright worshipful.
Holy crap—this is the hero vibe from Eastern wuxia flicks! The West has cowboys, the East has wandering knights!
Jamie chugged his Beer, stood, and playfully shadow-boxed: "Dude, you know Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee? Honestly, I've always been their fan."
"Who on Earth doesn't love Jackie Chan, right?"
He launched into Jackie's trademark Drunken Fists—so clumsy it drew laughter from all around.
While marveling at Jackie's global reach, Zhou Mo noticed a corner of Jamie's special uniform peeking from his collar.
Jamie's power, in short: any impact makes him split into a copy of himself—from the Doctor's first slap at birth to getting hit by a car or bullet.
Kill one, another pops up; the Mutant ability kept him alive, but it wreaks havoc on daily life.
Imagining Jamie with his girlfriend, Zhou Mo shivered—literal baby-making. Who knows how many clones one round would spawn?
To avoid that, Jamie's worn this suppressive uniform since childhood.
"It broke once; Professor X fixed it… hm." Zhou Mo now had a plan.
The Beers arrived; Zhou Mo sipped. Jamie sat back, eager. "So, how was my act, bro?"
Zhou Mo turned, snorted: "Dramatic retelling isn't reckless fabrication. Adaptation isn't random nonsense! Doing that, you'd owe Jackie an apology."
Jamie blinked, sobered, and quickly said, "No-no, you know I'm Jackie's fan—no disrespect at all."
Zhou Mo took another sip, heart aching over the bill. Didowould probably be the most expensive alien hero he'd ever unlock.
Back home he'd eat roadside melon free; now, Beer by Beer, he was bleeding the Zhou Family coffers dry.
Sensing Zhou Mo's gloom, Jamie caught on—wasn't it just a drunk impersonation? Even if they were compatriots, why so mad?
He leaned in and whispered, "Mate, if something's troubling you, tell me. If I can help, I'd be honored."
Zhou Mo met his gaze; Jamie, ever loyal, laid a hand on his shoulder and nodded encouragement.
"My girlfriend's been kidnapped."
Jamie's heart jumped—so that's it; no wonder he's upset.
Thinking of his own weak combat power, Jamie wanted to comfort him but didn't know how.
Zhou Mo lowered his head, almost choking: "She was the girl who helped me the most—my teacher in life and on the hero path. Now she's been murdered; I'm heartbroken."
"Without her, I wouldn't be who I am today."
Jamie blinked, feeling as though he'd both understood and understood nothing at all. Had his girlfriend been kidnapped—or killed?
Even drunk, Jamie knew not to pry further; his brain tagged the man beside him as one mourning a lost love. He sighed, patted Zhou Mo's shoulder, and lowered his head to offer comfort.
The instant Jamie bowed his head, Zhou Mo looked up. Their eyes locked, and the grimness on Zhou Mo's face sent a chill through Jamie.
"In the second half of this year, the China-U.S. co-production Heroic Legend of Zhou Mo will begin filming. I'll play myself, striving to create a Zhou Mo that satisfies audiences at home and abroad, to console my girlfriend's spirit in heaven."
Having delivered the line with dead seriousness, Zhou Mo's expression flipped in a heartbeat; sniffing sorrowfully, he raised his glass: "Darling, travel well."
Jamie stared at him, blinking in bewilderment.
No—wait! To console your girlfriend's spirit, why on Earthis the focus on you acting well in your own autobiographical movie?!
Shouldn't the focus be on your girlfriend, hello?!
Jamie's cheek muscles twitched. One second the girlfriend was kidnapped, the next she'd "ascended" — so after all that chatter, you were just drumming up publicity for your film?
Seeing Jamie's dark, speechless face, Zhou Mo felt much better… After three rounds of drinks, Zhou Mo helped the blackout-drunk Jamie out the back door. In the dim, cramped alley he scanned the surroundings.
Too drunk to keep his eyes open, Jamie lifted his head and slurred, "I liked your joke, but—dude, you know what? I've always wanted to be someone like you."
"Free—and just."
Zhou Mo, eyes fixed on an exposed power line, answered absently, "Of course you can become me."
Saying so, he steered Jamie toward the cable.
"N-no, I can't be you." Jamie shook his head. "I—I drink. I screw everything up. And hey—" he laughed, "I've got almost zero combat power."
"Imagine: a Mutant who wants to be a hero but has no fighting strength—could the Universe hand you a worse deal?" Jamie laughed at himself, then felt Zhou Mo stop. Through bleary eyes he saw Zhou Mo staring at him with that deadly seriousness again.
"Haha, bro, I'm not falling for another of your jokes." Jamiechuckled, eyes shut, waving it off.
"No—listen. Someone's going to kill you!"
The gravity in Zhou Mo's tone made Jamie crack an eye, frowning. "Really?"
Zhou Mo exploded, eyes wide: "I'm your brother! And you don't believe me?!"
"Fine—if that's how it is, I'll just leave you to it."
Feeling Zhou Mo start to dump him by the roadside, Jamiepanicked. Last time Zhou Mo showed up in the city, it was to fight aliens—so who was the target this time?
Sobering fast, Jamie turned serious. "No-no, bro! I believe you!" Only then did Zhou Mo stop shoving him into the trash bin.
"But—who wants me dead?" Jamie leaned in, voice low and tense.
Zhou Mo drew a deep breath and spoke the name: "Peter Jason Quill!"
"Quill?" Jamie blinked; the name meant nothing to him.
"Yeah." Zhou Mo gazed at the night sky, wondering where Star-Lord's gang had flown. "He's a very, very bad man, and your power is exactly what he wants." He shot Jamiean indignant look. "He plans to use your ability to build a clone army and rule the Universe!"
Jamie was stunned. His power was the key to cosmic domination?!
"Bro—" Jamie steadied himself and, pointing at Zhou Mo's chest, rattled off praise: "I believe you! You're the hero who repelled alien plots! The buddy who buys me drinks! You'd never lie to me!"
"Of course." Behind his back, Zhou Mo's other hand quietly gripped the power line.
"So—what's he going to do to me? I—I don't want to be their pawn."
"He'll—" Suddenly Zhou Mo's face changed; he jabbed a finger at the night sky. "Crap—lightning! He's here!"
Jamie went white, spinning to look—only to have Zhou Mo's out-thrust hand block his view. A jolt of electricity tore through him, burning and numbing.
Electromagnetic Strongman's ability flashed for an instant, leaving just enough marks on himself without real injury. Then Zhou Mo feigned weakness: "N-not good…"
Jamie spun back to see Zhou Mo leaning against the wall, clutching his chest, bending slightly, retreating two steps—looking utterly spent.
Every nerve screaming, Jamie nearly cried. He whirled again but saw nothing in the night. With no time to wonder where the "monstrous" Star-Lord was, he rushed to support Zhou Mo, voice cracking: "My brother—if even you can't handle him, what happens to Earth and the Universe?!"
Zhou Mo noticed Dido's combat-experience bar jump straight to 10 percent.
