Not long after we left one of the shops, Alexandria seemed to disappear right in front of my eyes. While looking around for Alexandria my eyes met the eyes of a woman across the square.
Looking at her face I immediately recognised her from the show. Nadia Petrova, Katherine's daughter, was not supposed to be here at all; she didn't appear until much later in the show. She looked a few years older than her mother, looking to be in her mid-thirties, whereas Katherine looked about twenty at the latest, though you could tell the two were related.
I already knew that my appearance here had knocked the events of the show out of order, but with each day that passed it seemed to get worse. New characters or events seemed to appear out of sync as time passed.
Our eyes had met only momentarily but she seemed to instantly recognise me as I did her. A slight expression of surprise and fear came across her face and she froze. For a few moments, I too remained still, trying not to cause her worry too much.
Someone passed between us, breaking my line of sight, and when it returned, she was gone. Obviously, she had taken the chance to escape. Nadia being here was not too much of a problem; I actually wondered if she had been following us throughout the centuries, though I never found evidence to support that. We continued on for a while, as I observed the town and the small but noticeable changes that had been made since we had arrived. The fear of the 'animal' attacks had started to die down, especially since there had been no attacks in weeks. Hopefully that would continue though I did have my doubts.
