Chapter 49 - Goodbyes and Departure

Bai Hu took a glance at the origin element treasures before him, before turning his attention to the lightning and wind treasures.

Without hesitation, Bai Hu took out one of his storage pouches and handed it over to the woman.

"I'll take those 5," gesturing towards the wind and lightning treasures.

Looking inside the storage pouch, the Golden Core cultivator's eyes beamed with delight. Top grade treasures were rare and expensive enough, but ones of rare elements were even more expensive despite few being able to utilize them.

A single purchase of such a treasure would be well over 200,000 low grade spirit stones, so 5 at once is most definitely unheard of.

Thankfully, Bai Hu managed to 'borrow' a few million low grade spirit stones from his wealthy Master shortly after the Bloody Ascension Trial, making this purchase easily doable.

The Golden Core cultivator beamed as she took out a small bronze Formation plate. Injecting her qi into the device, the woman waved it at the 5 treasures Bai Hu wanted.

Weng!

The displays unlocked, allowing the treasures to be exposed to the outside air. The woman gestured at the weapons, allowing Bai Hu to take them into his storage pouch.

With a wave of his hand, the 5 treasures flew into a storage pouch Bai Hu kept in his sleeve. Now was not the time to look further into these treasures, as that might give away too much information.

He wouldn't want anyone to ask about a cultivator with both wind and lightning attributes, as only he in the sect possesses the capabilities of activating both such treasures with ease. Anyone can be interested in the power of these 2 elements, but few can simply use them at will.

He turned towards the Golden Core cultivator, "That will be all"

Getting the hint, the woman took out another teleportation Formation plate and threw it into the air.

Another burst of blue light enveloped Bai Hu and his senses. By now, he was used to the feeling of being dragged through teleportation Formations, thus he simply closes his eyes for a second, before opening them and finding himself outside the pavilion again, this time alone, for the woman had not teleported along with him.

Not wanting to delay any further, the disguised Bai Hu took out his flying treasure and soared away.

Whoosh!

Passing through a narrow valley, his black robed figure was obscured completely. Half an hour later, Bai Hu emerged, this time in an azure blue robe decorated with flowing embroidery that resembled the winds, as well as twin azure dragons donning the edges of the robe.

To top it off, Bai Hu wore a belt the color of the night sky, decorated with silvery metals and sharply cut purple crystals. That was paired with a black crown with similar design that tied up part of his hair into a bun, while the rest cascaded down like a waterfall in the night.

These were 3 of the magic treasures which Bai Hu had purchased just now.

The Windrake Robe, a High Grade defensive Magic Treasure which can be further refined with the right materials. It has self mending abilities, as well as being capable of blocking anything under the Foundation realm with ease. Furthermore, it can summon a wind barrier to block higher level attacks, and a wind tornado that can temporarily push everything in a certain radius away.

If Bai Hu were to refine it further, it can be brought to the level of a Top Grade Magic Treasure at the minimum, boasting high defensive ability.

The belt and crown on the other hand were part of a High Grade set Magic Treasure, capable of rivalling top grade treasures. While they were part of a set, the Crows Nest had sold them separately.

The Amethyst Thunder Crown and Belt, when paired together, gives the wearer top notch defense from mental attacks such as the ones of the Spectral King as well as Formations. In fact, if anyone were to try and probe Bai Hu without permission, the treasures will counterattack with lightning, an element most devastating against the mind.

These 3 defensive treasures allowed Bai Hu to cover for his lacking durability, while the Wind Boots allowed for better mobility. Adding on all of his Magic Treasures and the 2 treasures he had not yet revealed, Bai Hu can confidently say that perhaps he might not lose to Cheng Xia this time.

Of course, if Cheng Xia were to be allowed the usage of Magic Treasures, then perhaps no one in the same realm could defeat him.

Bai Hu shook the thought off of him, his eyes clearing up. While the swordsman was strong now, he was younger with greater room to grow. Given a few years, that gap will surely be bridged.

Making a hand sign with one hand, the young man turned into a multi-colored streak of light, soaring off through the night sky.

-

Over the course of the next few days, Bai Hu worked with his 2 new friends to gather various materials, pills, and items that will be of aid to them in surviving the outside world, as well as make their stay a comfortable one.

While 2 years was not a long time in the grand scheme of things, it is still a lot of time for young cultivators whose potentials are greatest in their youth.

Whoosh!

Bai Hu allowed a jade slip to fly off from his hands, zipping through the air before it disappeared behind the distant mountain ranges.

He managed to send out message jades to his few acquaintances and friends, notifying them of his mission and lack of presence in the sect for the next 2 years.

Bing Xue was in seclusion, though Hong Hua was able to receive his message and relay it to her once she was out.

As for Long Sun, he had entered seclusion, wanting to break through to the mid stage of Foundation. His talent was as monstrous as his thirst for battle, allowing for quick progression.

While it was a tad bit slower compared to Bai Hu who was younger than him, the many fights Long Sun has been through has refined both his qi and his understanding of himself. His breakthrough to the next realm is only a matter of time.

Bai Hu turned around to take a look at his mountain peak. The sect guaranteed his ownership of the mountain peak, thus there was no fear of others taking his place as long as he was alive.

He turned away and willed his flying treasure to take him away. He had already cleared out everything that was important to him, and the one week preparation has officially ended.

An hour later, the young man arrived at the location agreed upon by his teammates. Landing briskly on the stone tiles of the circular platform of a mountain peak, Bai Hu saw Cheng Xia and Zhang Yun Guang waiting next to a teleportation Formation.

Cheng Xia smiled from the wall that he leaned on, his sword resting under his crossed arms.

"Took you long enough, have you gotten everything you need?"

Bai Hu nodded, for he had brought dozens of storage pouches and hid them throughout his robes and belt.

Zhang Yun Guang gestured towards the teleportation Formation, "Let us depart, it will be a long journey to the Hei Long Province"

Bai Hu tilted his head, slightly confused, "Does the Formation stretch that far?"

The scholar shook his head, "At most, it would cut down our travel time by half. Even then, we still need to get through the wilderness for about 2 months"

"I see"

The young man stepped forward until he reached the Formation, "Well let us depart now"

Just as the other 2 were about to step onto the teleportation Formation, a voice called out, drawing their attention.

"Wait!"

Bai Hu turned around and saw Rue Ming descend from her flying treasure, her light green robes fluttering in the wind as her hair waved gently behind her. She blinked her brown eyes at Bai Hu.

"Come here"

The young man glanced at his companions, both of which simply shrugged for they knew nothing of this situation.

Bai Hu stepped off the Formation and walked towards the woman until he was within arms reach.

He was taller now as compared to a few years ago when Rue Ming had brought him to the sect. The training and battles made him look more mature than he really was, in contrast to Rue Ming, who looks to be untouched by the years.

She smiled gently, taking out a storage pouch from under her sleeve.

"I want you to take this"

Bai Hu took the plain looking pouch gingerly, as if it might explode like one of his Thunderflame Beads. He then tried to open it to which Rue Ming objected.

"This pouch is a disposable treasure I refined," she explained, "Opening it will unleash 100 swords, each containing the full strength of a Lower Gold Core cultivator"

The young man broke into cold sweat. He couldn't imagine many people being able to survive the onslaught of such an attack, and he couldn't believe he was seconds away from eviscerating himself from existence.

He cupped his hands and bowed, "I will use it well"

Rue Ming smiled, "Go now, can't keep you here forever"

With a bow, Bai Hu stepped back on the teleportation Formation. Zhang Yun Guang waved his hands, causing the runes of the Formation to light up with a blue light.

Weng!

In a flash, the trio was gone, and soon enough, Rue Ming left the mountain peak too, leaving no evidence that anyone had been here.
