Chapter 40 - Chapter 30 – Yuexin’s Tears (~1250 words)

Yuexin dragged Tian's limp form into their hut, tears blinding her. His chest heaved ragged, blood thick across his mouth.

"Don't leave me," she whispered fiercely, eyes pouring streams. "Don't—don't you dare."

Tian's faint smile cracked lips. "A root… once planted… cannot be torn so easily."

Through nights of agony, Yuexin nursed him. She wiped sweat, fed broth, pressed frost poultices against wounds. Their children clung, crying silently, too young to fully understand but instinctively afraid.

Each day villagers visited, bowing, bringing gifts, whispering thankful prayers. Tian had saved them again, though at near cost of life.

And though his cultivation stalled for months, bound by injuries, the village never wavered in loyalty again. He had become more than a man—he was their pillar, the founder of something greater.

Yuexin often cried silently in nights when Tian slept heavily, whispering to his still body: "I don't care for roots or eternity if it means losing you. Just… live. Live beside me."

But Tian, even half-conscious, sometimes whispered back fragments: "Roots… are eternal… even if I fall."

The Eternal Ice Spirit Tome pulsed unseen once more:

Battle Survival engraved. Devotion of Partner secured. Bloodline bond deepened.

The seeds of clan were not only knowledge and children. They were loyalty, carved in sacrifice and tears.
