These are a compilation of letters I've written to January. A boy who was so stupid and vulgar, who always smiled and was… my best friend. A person I naively thought I knew, despite not knowing him at all. The boy who destroyed the lab and killed our caretaker. My last memory of him was his parting figure as he calmly walked away from the lab. In the entrance of the total destruction was one of the seven cardinal sins at the forefront of the demon king's army. She smiled at him like she came to pick him up and he followed her. His actions felt like a total betrayal. One that none of us in the lab had ever seen coming. Our whole existence had been solely to beat the demon king and his army, and right before our eyes he marked us as an enemy. What was he thinking? My previous conception of him shattered like glass. Was he really my best friend? The moment he left, I don't know what face I was making. Probably a face of anguish, hatred, and rage. His face was numb, I couldn't read what was beyond his eyes. He turned his back to me and began to walk away before saying very ambiguous words.

After that day, I aimlessly wandered for months. Teetering on the edge of death and survival until it seemed like my time was up. I laid on the dirt in the middle of the red light district. A place of gambling and everything illegal. Starved, freezing, and all alone, I thought it was time to take my final breath.
That's when I met him.
A man who was reminiscient of everything you were supposed to be. He looked nothing like you but he was weak, stubborn, and foolish which in a way drew me to him. His hair was brown instead of white and his eyes were yellow instead of blue. He was a little taller and older than what I remember of you. However, seeing such a man allowed me to take myself on a new chapter of life. He inspired me to take a journey with him to defeat the demon king and in exchange help me find you.
