When Dallas got to where Ivan stood, on the edge of the roof, he asked, "How are you planning to deal with everything? I mean... Aria, your father, your whole pack, everything.. until you are actually free to be with Axel?"
He asked calmly, and the only reason was because he genuinely wanted to help.
At least, that was the truth he allowed himself to hold onto.
What he did not say-or even want to admit to himself-was that he was hoping those two would get back together, so that it would finally become clear to him that Axel was completely out of reach.
Maybe then the feelings gnawing at him would stop growing.
Maybe then he would stop wanting Axel more than he already did, even though he refused to acknowledge that desire out loud.
But Ivan understood the question entirely differently.
"Trying to challenge me?" He asked, his tone was suddenly defensive. "Or trying to remind me that I can't actually be with him because that would only endanger him?"
