Before I knew it, the Ryujo was at sea, sailing away. I don't really understand why I, an aircraft carrier, have turned into such a tiny girl, but somehow my knowledge tells me that it's a drop.
And, maybe, I fell in the wrong place.
I'm trying to think of it as a bit of a careless mistake, but when you consider that there are creatures in the sea and sky that clearly don't exist on Earth and that they might even try to eat you, there's no way I could just smile and think, ``That's not it.''
If it were the Pacific Ocean, I would have the nautical chart memorized, but when you consider that the ocean currents in this vast ocean are not circulating but are actually intertwined, it is a realm beyond comprehension.
So, I decided to go against all the currents and found myself drifting away from all land.
It's just a matter of stubbornness.
There were signs of civilization and people, but I ignored them. I was already sunk at some point anyway. It's nice to travel freely.
I was scared of many things, such as whether communication was actually possible. I was aware that they were something other than humans. I was curious, so I even flew a carrier-based aircraft over there, but it didn't seem to be a cosmic human world.
Not only was everything from the top of his head to the tips of his toes strange, but even the world around him was mysterious. Ryujo's mind was quickly becoming depressed.
The only ones who seem to be allies are the fairies, mysterious creatures that live in the aircraft carriers and equipment, but before we can trust them or rely on them, I sense a presence that makes me feel like I can't let my guard down.
Specifically, it's the kind of thing that Kaga and Akagi do unconsciously.
I wondered if I must have been so tough, having memories of struggling even though I was only just born.
I wish that fate would change.
This happened only about three hours after I became aware of things.
Now that I'm hungry, my stubbornness seems pointless. I'll find land and meet people.
The woman gathers her courage and clenches her fists, and with natural movements moves away from the unnatural waves.
For some reason, whirlpools seem to be occurring this far out at sea.
I wonder how fast the ocean currents are crashing into me, or if there's something incredibly large raging beneath my feet that I can sometimes feel.
With safety as the first priority, I headed away and glanced in their direction.
I just want to turn my eyes away from reality.
"There's a rowboat. That's ridiculous. It's impossible. I must be dreaming."
I forgot my circumstances. I forgot that I had gone from being a warship and aircraft carrier to being a young girl, that I was in a place that seemed like another world, and that I was able to control machines inhabited by some kind of fantastical creature.
Why is there a rowboat in the middle of the ocean? It's not a tour of the pond.
How did they cross that erratic ocean current with just one oar? What about those strange marine creatures? Questions arise one after another, but I no longer know what they are.
For now, since I'm going backwards, I'm heading straight into the whirlpool.
"Where are you going?"
I think it might be the bottom of the sea, but even if it isn't, where are they really planning to go in that boat?
There's no doubt about it. It's lost. Or it's suicide.
"Wait, wait, wait!! Wait for that boat!!"
His battle experience forced him to yell from the bottom of his heart. The clear sky and sea shook as the Ryujo's angry voice rang out.
Although they were quite far away, the voice reached the boat owner, who tilted his head in confusion as he continued rowing carefreely.
"Behind you, behind you, behind you! Look behind you, you idiot!"
Straw Hat spun around. It took him a few seconds to process what was happening, then he turned around in a panic and tried to escape. The seawater that had been pushed aside by the oars spurted up like a joke.
But it was too late, and little by little he was sucked in.
"Don't you have a rope?! Throw it now!"
Straw Hat clapped his hands, stood up, and for some reason swung it up without holding it.
"what...?"
Before I could ask a question, the Ryujo, racing across the sea at full speed, swung its right hand out without any thought, and then it leaped towards me.
"What's that!!"
I instinctively dodged the fist, but he grabbed my arm tightly. I didn't understand what was going on, but when I put in strength to try and help him, the arm started to wrap around me, using it as a fulcrum.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait!! Consider the difference in physique!?"
Although he was a boy, he was a toned man. We were an Asashio-class aircraft destroyer. If he was put in a position worse than clinging, he wouldn't be able to stand. Or rather, his outstretched arms would retract and his body would fly towards him.
That's when Ryujo flipped a switch. He had had enough of this unreasonable and incomprehensible happening. In other words, he lost his temper.
"Enough already!!"
He turned his body halfway to catch the arm wrapped around him with his elbow and threw it with a floating throw. The straw hat was blown away, and the boy himself was slammed into the sea.
It was such a great move that I struck a smug pose, but he didn't float up. However, his arms were still wrapped around me and it seemed to be shrinking little by little, so I unwound them and waited.
"Bufoah!!"
The boy emerged from the water and took a breath, his face covered in something other than seawater.
"Help me! I can't swim!"
"Oh, well, first of all, you need to calm down and relax. Humans float."
"I can't swim, so I can't float!!"
"Even if it seems that way, I'm still holding on to it."
He must be desperate. His arm is in a terrible pain as he holds it. But he still holds it in his hand. Ryujo-chan is so kind, he praises himself.
"Uh, yeah, thank you."
"It's good to be able to say thank you. I don't mind. The sea is a place where people help each other."
"That's a strange way to talk."
"You're honest. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's a virtue, right?"
A boy is lying on the sea, and a girl is crouching beside him. It's a confusing scene, especially when the girl is pinching the boy's cheek.
"It's really growing."
"It doesn't work. It's rubber."
"I see. You have a mysterious nature."
"It's a devil fruit."
"Oh, something like that."
I'm no longer surprised by strange things. Rather, I accept them all. Because it's reality. It's a cruel world out there.
"effect?"
"No, screw it."
"Like this."
"Ouch!!"
This place is no less mysterious. With some non-verbal advice from the fairies, I was able to achieve my goal. Colombia.
"Why? I'm wearing rubber."
"The world is full of mysteries"
These are words filled with real feeling.
"Oh, that's right!! Where's the ship?!"
"For now, it's still floating."
They're completely engulfed in the whirlpool. There's no hope of survival. As someone in the same boat, I'll pray for them.
"Go to hell. There's no point in getting lost."
"We can't sail without it!!"
"It's okay. You haven't done it in the first place."
"Hey, sorry!!"
"Hey?! I told you to think about the difference in physique!!"
The boy climbed up Ryujo's small body and wrapped his legs around its torso. He looked just like a monkey. Suddenly, I was forced to carry a young man on my back, but regardless of his size, he was an aircraft carrier. I grumbled, but supported him. Ryujo-chan was so kind, I sighed.
"Gomu Gomu, line and line fishing!!"
"You want us to support an entire boat?! Let's do it! Unreasonable requests are part of the normal mission!"
Shouting out his pride in his previous life, he stood firm on the surface of the sea. The Ryujo's ability to respond with ease to sudden actions is what makes it so. Anyone else would have sunk along with him.
"Woohooo!!"
"Don't give off that vibe! We're the ones working hard!"
It was impressive that even a small boat could be pulled out of the whirlpool with just one arm, but the weight of the boat was being placed entirely on the Ryujo, which was its base.
"Oh come on! Remember that, you idiot!"
I don't really understand, but I managed to avoid the reaction of the rubber band and the centrifugal force of the boat being pulled up by it, and for the time being I was standing on the water. My wake was like that of a figure skater, but no one noticed or cared.
Within minutes, the risk of capsizing alternates.
"Hahahaha!! Yesssss!!"
"I'm tired, Uchi."
He no longer had the energy to punish him. He was completely carefree and happy-go-lucky. As he approached the boat, the boy nimbly jumped onto it, and the Ryujo hung over the side of the boat.
"Thank you so much! I'm Monkey D. Luffy! I'm the man who will become the King of the Pirates!"
"Oh, I see. Our ship is the Ryujo. The ruler of the Southern Seas."
"That's amazing!!"
"Honesty is not necessarily a virtue"
"Are you lying?"
"I'm just a girl now."
"Oh, you're kidding."
"Which one? Which one did you determine was a lie?"
Luffy also has the wisdom to keep quiet.
"I don't know what the Pirate King is, but where are you going on a ship like this?"
"The Grand Line!! But first, I need to find some friends."
"At the bottom of the sea? Maybe they'll find an octopus or a shellfish to join them."
"That's a good idea!!"
"This guy is no good."
His words and actions are all positive. In fact, I'm scared that it's a world where we could make friends. I don't know, though.
Still, what he does is no different from a desperate suicide candidate. He may be an idiot, but he's not an idiot. He's not arrogant and just has a stupid confidence. He's an unbalanced boy.
"Well, even brushing shoulders is a fateful encounter. I'll take you to the nearest land."
"Too bad. I don't have any navigation skills."
"What's that?"
I got angry so I hit him.
"Don't underestimate the sea. This place is just a dumping ground for trash like you. If you're going to rot, rot on land."
"No, I am."
"Don't make excuses. Saying you don't mind dying is not something you can be forgiven for even if you die."
"Hmm, that's difficult."
"Well, that happens when you're young. Today, I paid the price for your recklessness. Who knows what will happen next?"
"I'll remember that."
"Being honest is a good thing"
A boy rolls on the floor of a boat, clutching his cheek, while a girl glares at him. It's not like Konjiki Yasha, but the roles are reversed.
"Now, row quickly?"
"Oh, yeah."
He got into the boat and gave orders in a bossy manner. Luffy started rowing away. They sat opposite each other, but Ryujo began rummaging through the boat.
"Seriously, there's no rope or anything loaded, just one barrel. You're just licking it and letting it rot."
"I've already eaten. I heard we'll arrive at the island in two or three days."
"A sailing boat? Why row?"
"You don't know how to sail. Rowing would be better, wouldn't it? My grandpa said you could swim there."
"That's not true. No, it's a bit hasty to assume that it's a lie. You seem to be quite strong yourself."
Even though Ryujo was supporting the boat, he had used his strength to pull it out of the whirlpool. Even taking into account his inexplicable physical condition, it was still inhuman.
"I've trained! Well, that whirlpool was impressive."
"You're impressive for using difficult words. But even I don't understand those whirlpools. I mean, it's true that you're underestimating it, but your education is poor."
"I'm sure Grandpa could handle a whirlpool like that! I still have a long way to go."
"I see. I'm starting to understand."
It seems that this boy has no common sense. His family is full of idiots, which has distorted his perception of reality.
They must have been seriously planning to cross the ocean in a rowboat.
"I don't understand why you want to be a pirate, but do you never study?"
"I don't know anything about studying. I was always left in the care of bandits, and my grandpa was against it so he wouldn't teach me."
"I'd say you're against it, bandit? But can't you read?"
"I can read it, but I don't understand it and I fall asleep."
"Ah, I see. So navigation isn't just about deck work, it's about navigation including direction and surveying, right?"
"Yes, that."
"How can someone without basic academic ability master something like that? It's the wisdom of humanity."
"Wow, it's really amazing."
"Were there no sailors?"
"There was an old fisherman, but the village chief was against it, and he couldn't swim, so it didn't work out."
"Swim practice?"
Luffy pinches his cheek and stretches it out.
"I'm a rubber man who ate a devil fruit. I'm cursed by the sea, so it's impossible."
"There are some strange things here."
"There are lots of things like this in the ocean. I want to see them."
"Well, why not be an adventurer?"
"Pirates are free, you know?"
"Is Riku lame?"
"That's right. Yeah, that's right."
He scratches his head vigorously.
"A little to the right. No, you don't have to go with me there. I'm against it."
Because they were facing each other, there were some errors, but they were able to sail together. Ryujo reached out to the surface of the sea and picked up the straw.
"Ahhh!! Did you drop it?!"
"What is it? Is it important?"
"I'm keeping it for you. I'll come and return it someday."
"And pirates too?"
"I understand that very well."
"It's wet, but that's just right. The sun is strong, so cover yourself up."
"thank you!!"
"What a good kid."
It's even more confusing, but I guess common sense differs in different worlds. To begin with, whether they're pirates or bandits, most are just thugs who collect tolls without permission. It may be a cost, but it's not a stopper. Historically, killing was considered a villainous act and was shunned. If anything, it's a blessing that he's knowledgeable about geography.
Even if we assume that the area is a place of poor public order, it is not a threat to ordinary people. There is no property to be stolen in the first place. There was a time when the police were far away and the yakuza were close by.
In other words, this is the way the world is, and Ryujo is losing motivation.
I don't mind if it's a bit of a fantasy, because I'm not in a position to criticize others. Rather, I'm questioning myself for feeling uncomfortable.
However, if banditry is nothing more than a social gathering in an immature society, and some ambition requires recklessness like setting out to sea in a rowboat, then this world is doomed.
Significant disparities and divisions, or an uncontrollable natural environment, may be hindering not only development but even basic metabolism.
Just as good as her time, or even better.
Why should I be reborn in a convenient, young body and still have to live in a world similar to the one before?
Luffy was taken aback by Ryujo's increasingly visibly irritated attitude.
"Are you okay?"
"It's not okay. It's a big problem."
"Shall I give you some advice?"
"Leave me alone. Anyway, hitting me was too much. It can't be helped, in this world. You can't live the way you want without risking your life."
"That's right. If I didn't want to die, I wouldn't have gone out to sea."
"I see. That's difficult."
It seemed he wasn't just a carefree boy. Academics aside, he seemed to have received a proper education. At the very least, he was able to face the reality that would make Ryujo cringe at first sight with a positive attitude.
It makes me feel even more depressed.
"No, I'm really sorry."
"I'm fine with that, since you were just worried about me. But more importantly, is Ryujo also a person with special abilities?"
Rowboats are a bit much, but even the Ryujo crosses the ocean with nothing but its bare flesh.
"We are mysterious creatures."
"Mysterious Monster"
"Actually, I was a battleship in my previous life."
"Senkan"
"This is a ship that carries airplanes."
"Airplane?!"
He takes out a card and throws it away to show it to the crowd.
"Also, firing cannons."
Actually shoot.
"cannon?!"
"Shooting."
Shoot again.
"Yeah?!"
"Shooting away."
"You're shooting too much!!"
"That's right."
This is true in my past life as well. I don't want it to happen.
"No, stop shooting?!"
"Bocatin fishing. Rowing over there?"
"You're a mess."
"That's right."
Ryujo was satisfied that he had been understood. He also said that he had managed to cover up the situation.
"Wow. There's a fish floating."
"You can't fight on an empty stomach. Pick some up and I'll cook it for you."
"Huh? Where did you get it from?"
Before they knew it, there was a charcoal grill at the bottom of the boat, and Ryujo had a knife and cutting board in his hands.
"I'm a mysterious creature."
"If it's strange, I guess that can't be helped."
For the sake of world peace, they stopped thinking about each other. Ryujo can't explain it either. Maybe it's the fairy spirit.
I quickly closed them and washed them in seawater. I opened them, removed the innards, and grilled them on a charcoal grill. I also opened the rest and dried them.
"Can you do it?"
"That's so convenient."
"Just doing it properly."
There is no logic to it. After using it, I am at a loss as to what to do with it.
"The only seasoning is seawater."
"Just being able to eat is enough."
The carrier-based aircraft that had been flying lightly returns.
"There's some kind of anchorage over there. Shall we go?"
"Is there anyone there?"
"Well, there is."
"Can we find some company? Let's go there!"
"All right! You've got guts. I'll show you around."
It's a very fatty fish, but it's very smoky.
"Stop it! Don't fan me! I can't open my eyes!"
"Lean your body back. You're rowing too slowly."
"One oar like this won't do anything!!"
"I think that's true, but isn't it his own fault?"
"That's true!!"
"My friend is in an even worse situation. His name is Yakitori Maker."
"Murder?! Your friend!!"
"You know that very well. By the way, when the winds change direction, that's what happens to us."
"Isn't this your fault?!"
"Don't let your guard down. I'm good enough to not lose to you."
"Got it!! I'll reflect on it!!"
Coughing heavily, he managed to emerge from the smoke. His neck had become long from rowing so diligently.
"It's quite flexible in terms of expansion and contraction."
"It takes a bit of strength, but it works."
We tried moving the charcoal grill a little, but there was still so much smoke that we were running out of space for anyone inside the boat.
"It's not dried, it's smoked."
"Which one?! Us?! Fish?!"
"both?"
They ate the grilled fish together. Luffy frowned and snorted.
"It smells like fish."
"Well, that's how it goes. If you underestimate travel and sailing, you'll end up in big trouble."
"Is that appropriate too?"
"But it's true."
"I'm getting a little annoyed."
"Yay!"
Luffy was being provoked by the skillful act of laughing with a straight face. He didn't respond and just laughed, which even seemed rational.
This rational person is acting as if he is letting his emotions get the better of him. I can't believe this is the normal behavior of the inhabitants of this world.
Even though they had been stranded without food up until then, they naturally disliked the trouble that came with having food.
He's probably just prepared to die and wants to enjoy the rest of his life. As long as there are no health issues and the Devil Fruit doesn't have any fatal side effects, he's free to choose his reasons for accepting death.
Regardless of Luffy's feelings, this is a conclusion drawn from the assumption that this has always been the case, in all places and throughout history, and this world is no exception, but if that is the case, then it is indeed a harsh world.
"Hey, what should I do to live an honest life?"
"Should I join the Navy?"
"Is your grandpa in the Navy?"
"How do you know?"
"Killing people, being killed, eating a wasteful meal on the sea. How is that normal? If you still think that's the case, then maybe that's what shaped your common sense. The bandits, the village chief, and the promised pirate. Obligation and admiration. The only other character left is Grandpa, right?"
"How do you know?!"
"It's just a guess. That's what studying, experiencing, and thinking is all about. It has nothing to do with you."
"Amazing."
"No. It's scary. Remember that."
"Are you scared?"
"Your family has been revealed. You've also shown your strength. I can kill everyone in our family."
"No, that's impossible."
"You don't think about it, do you? But I do. And unlike you, I do things even if I don't like them."
Luffy gets a little serious.
"You might think that seeing this strange creature called us is okay. But should you just dismiss us as a stranger you met by chance? Even if we happen to be okay, how long will that last? Remember our conversation so far. Before you even knew why, we had obtained all this information about you, right?"
"I don't think you would do that, but it's certainly a bit scary."
"This is the world of deception. The life of a bandit. By the way, I'm a former navy officer."
"You're kidding, right?"
"That's true, unfortunately. You say pirates are free, right? But isn't he free because he's your grandfather?"
"But you won't stay by my side."
"Actually, it's troublesome, you know?"
Ryujo lost his motivation. He was just an idiot, but he was a well-mannered boy, much better than his circumstances would suggest. I felt sorry for his grandfather, thinking it was just a typical case of extra-large-scale rebellion, but it seems he is incredibly fond of him.
Also, although it's hard to imagine from the way he laughed at her when she suddenly threw herself at him, it seems he's really thinking things through.
At the very least, Ryujo wouldn't have to lecture him. It would be a pointless lecture and an incredibly embarrassing waste of time.
Even if he thinks about it and realizes that it's not enough, he still takes a step forward and starts running. That's the kind of man he seems to be.
Also, I get lonely easily.
He has become so hardcore that if he had to choose between pirates and the navy, he would choose pirates.
"You really should be grateful to Grandpa, okay?"
"Oh, yeah."
He had set out to sea with this kind of equipment because he didn't know how to rely on others. It was a miracle that this awareness of having and needing friends was what motivated him, other than loneliness.
No, wait, but, Ryujo was confused.
"What are pirates doing?"
"I'm the captain."
Not actions, but positions. In other words, what they dream of is relationships. They talk about adventure, but there's nothing concrete about it. In other words, hidden treasure or buried gold somewhere isn't the goal. Their interest in the unknown is at a tourist level.
"Pirate King?"
"The freest guy in the sea"
Although they choose to live a life that assumes death in order to be free, they feel that they need to be bound by human relationships and that society is so restrictive that they cannot find any value in it.
Where is the ambition? All he's saying is that he wants to live freely with his friends. He doesn't need wealth, fame, or even power.
It is impossible to achieve such everyday life-level things without feeling guilty. A life where you are forced to bow your head unreasonably, whether due to power or violence, casts a shadow over your heart, even if you have no choice but to endure it.
It is natural for humans to have a sense of justice, chivalry, and a rebellious spirit that cannot tolerate this.
In fact, the secret to making soldiers is to break that first. Instead, give them a just cause.
It must be something powerful that is beyond reproach. In this world, an ordinary boy who can even say hello and thank others aims to become a thief. Simply calling it justice is enough.
That's probably out of control or corrupt. The fact that she chooses to be hostile towards her grandfather despite admiring him makes it clear.
Then that applies to all countries and governments.
I thought the only thing that was going wrong was the economy, but this is not a situation where we can say we're doomed. It's like the Sengoku period or something after a collapse.
It's no longer something that can be summed up as youth. There are a certain number of people who never give up. Age has nothing to do with it.
In other words, these are the types of fish that are competing fiercely in the ocean.
"What's been going on for a while now?"
"Reality is crushing me"
"Laughing is good. Even if you have to force it, it's much better than crying."
"It's too dark."
Maybe it's not so carefree at all. Just being in a different world is enough to upset me, but I hope it doesn't upset my impression of the people I meet for the first time.
After all, it's the same conclusion she came to after living through a world war.
"How can I become the Pirate King?"
"Maybe we should travel around the world? I heard there's a treasure called One Piece."
"Hmm, it's all in one go. Are you trying to unify the world?"
"I don't know. That's why I want to see."
"It's funny."
"Right?"
"This is fun."
"Oh, it's sure to be fun."
"I guarantee it will be fun."
"Really?"
"I trust you. I'm still the woman who burned half the world."
Ryujo laughed out loud.
He is confused as he faces the reality of being reincarnated into another world.
"I'll take on that fight. It's war."
"With whom? I don't want to."
"Don't say such silly things."
"Don't get me involved. I found something dangerous."
"I was the one who picked it up."
"Thank you. But I'm sorry."
"Don't let go?"
"Let's calm down, okay?"
"Are you going to destroy this world?"
"No."
"You're the captain. Take care of me."
"I want friends, but I don't like you right now!"
"Women are best when they're a bit of a pain"
"That's not true!!"
The two had a fun voyage.
