Chapter 2 - Chapter 2. Skills and traits

When Lean pressed the "Store" option on the card, it changed its look entirely, instead of showing the description of the blessing.

Items, skills, and traits were listed on it, and how much they cost; from 10 gold coins to 10,000 gold coins, up to 1,000,000, some even reaching 7-8 digit numbers.

One thing caught the attention of Lean and it's the [Gold: none (+)] option on the card. Does this mean he can add some gold on his own, if so, how?

Lean stared at it for a couple of minutes hoping a change would happen to the amount of gold he had.

But nothing came. Disappointed, Lean looked for his identity watch and checked the amount of money he had left on it.

On his watch, the numbers written on it were: {142,920} In total, this was the amount of money he had left.

Looking at the card and the watch beside each other, Lean couldn't help but cry out a tear on how he's broke on both.

"It's only been a year since you died, and the amount of money I have left is only this much," Lean said, placing the card and watch near his laptop.

Lean lay down on his back.

In the past year after she died, Lean has been using the money he got from his mother's voluntary experiment on monsters and human fusion.

Just as the name of the experiment suggests, it's an experiment where a human would fuse with a monster.

His mother, who was near the age of 70, decided to do this on her own without telling Lean. In the hope of letting him live on without worrying about money for a few years.

Sitting up, Lean didn't bother to think about it; he had already cried his eyes out back then when he received the news and moved on from it.

As his eyes fell on the table he was asked by the card.

[Would you like to transfer your money to the card?]

Lean hesitated for a bit, wondering if somehow the card could do it, how much would he have left? As soon as he thought of it the card question.

[Would you like to transfer: 100,000 into the card?]

"Wow… hungry for money?" He said pressing the 'yes' option on the card.

[Congratulations, owner, you have done your first transaction on the card.

As your first transaction, you're able to choose 5 options on the card for free.

Only to traits and skills.

Gold: 1,000.

Next transaction available: 1 month.]

"Hmmm," Lean grumbled with his fingers on his chin.

"Then for every thousand is one point only." Lean murmured looking at the '1,000' coins of his on the card.

Ignoring the total scam of the card, Lean asks it to show him the store again.

Lean didn't bother to look for the skills and how much they cost; he already knew what he needed to buy and get from his first transaction.

~~~
An hour later, Lean had brought all the skills and traits he wanted from the card and even got an item from it, only costing him 230 gold coins, and got some healing and stamina potions for the remaining gold.
Leaving him with 20 gold coins.
"Show my attributes points," Lean said to the card.
"Damn. Not bad. Not bad, if I say so. In one single night, my window is already this cluttered." Lean smiled at the sight of his new window.
Standing up, Lean tried out his new traits. Imagining a simple high kick, he stood up and fixed his posture.
He looked at the light in the room, thinking of it as the monster's head.
With a single breath, Lean's body moves like a martial artist, kicking the light bulb away from the room, leaving it in darkness.
"..."
"Shit! I don't have anything to replace that." Lean said, looking at the missing light bulb on the ceiling.
With no lights on in the room and the house in complete silence, Lean moved to his bed and slept the night away, leaving the problem to his future self.
***
Even before the roster can let out a scream. Lean is already outside training his new skills.
"Fire finger!" Lean screamed as a straight line of fire left from his finger shooting down a can on the fence.
"Weak, but strong enough to knock down a can filled with rocks," Lean said, picking it up and putting the rocks back on it.
Since five in the morning, Lean has been practicing his skill, leaving him with two uses left.
Moving along, he moved to the tree near his house and watched the leaves fall.
As the leaf near his eyes, he saw their outline, breathing in and out, he screamed, "Water finger!"
Two bullets of water flew out from his finger and hit a leaf, missing the other one.
"I need to fix that accuracy next." He whispers, thinking for a bit, and he questions.
"Can I not learn any skills outside the card?" After thinking for a while, Lean brushes it off.
As a breeze of air ran through his home. Three leaves fell. He looks at them and locks his sight on the outline of the leaves.
"Water fingers!" Lean eyes widen as the bullets are perfectly aligned with the leaves.
With a sudden gust of wind, the bullet curved up to the left and missed completely.
"Right. Forgot about the other factors." Disappointed, Lean moved inside his home to grab a glass of water.
Going back outside, Lean thought of combining multiple fingers together and using his skills.
Testing out this idea, Lean moved behind his home not wanting to ruin anything on the front.
Locking his last two skills on the fire element. He was leaning on one knee and pointing at the open area.
As he prepared himself, he let out a nervous; "Fire finger."
Bang.
A loud bang let out as the enhanced fire bullet hit the ground, creating a small crater the size of a bowling ball.
"•_•"
"What the…" Lean couldn't finish his words seeing the power of his skills.
As the idea of using all ten fingers on the water bullets crossed his mind, he quickly slapped himself.
Knowing the danger of it.
