Vampires, she knows what they are; she knows a lot about the creatures of the night, the children of darkness. She was told about them when she was younger, like a dark nursery rhyme, a twisted lullaby.
Those creatures didn't sound like they existed; their stories sounded like something straight out of a horror movie, not real, but they are real. Vampires, witches, trolls, ogres, sirens and worst of all, fairies of darkness.
Although the fairy of darkness one is still being debated, no one knows if they actually exist.
But Elena knows vampires exist, and she's running away from them right now. Her best friend Alex has fought vampires; they're fast and strong, but Alex is an elf, and he's also fast and strong. But a fairy like her? How is she ever going to deal with these undead creatures?
Yes, she was told at a young age that she's the most powerful fairy to ever exist, and she has the power of the shining sun in her, but she doesn't know how to use that power in a fight. The only thing she knows how to do is play with light in her hands or make a bulb of light float in the air.
Like when she got her first period, and as soon as she sneezed, light appeared in the air in the bathroom. Her powers were beginning to manifest. And it is stated that once her powers start growing, the creatures of darkness start showing.
Like right now, vampires have somehow located her.
She stops in her tracks when the cute Russian guy stands in front of her. He doesn't look cute to her anymore.
"Where are you going, princess? I thought we were having fun?" he says with a chilling smile, and Elena doesn't even bother to look around. She knows that she's being surrounded by other vampires.
There's no escaping now.
"I cannot believe I am standing in front of the lost princess of Engardia." He walks closer to her, and Elena just stands there trying her best not to cower or show any fear.
"Stay back! I'm a powerful fairy, fairy of the sun. I can blast you with my power, and you vamps will turn to ashes," she warns, making sure she sounds confident.
"We do not listen to empty threats," a female vampire with a white colored pixie haircut says to her.
Elena looks away from the woman, and she looks at the male vampire she flirted with.
"Okay then," she screams with her arms stretched, and the vampires cower. Unfortunately for Elena, the only thing that came out of her was a ball of light that immediately fades away.
"Really?" Elena groans. She looks at her hands and shakes them, "Some powerful fairy I am."
Laughter
The vampires are laughing at her.
"Some powerful fairy you are indeed," the male vampire says and then, at the speed of light, he grabs Elena's neck and lifts her. Elena kicks her feet in the air, struggling to be free from the vampire's grip, but it's true what Alex said, they're super fast, and super strong.
"I do wonder what powerful fairy blood tastes like." he licks his lips; he's basically drooling, and the other vampires are drooling as well. They cannot wait to drink Elena's blood.
The vampire holding Elena brings her down a bit. Elena looks at the vampire in fear. It's times like these she has feared the most. She had always acted like she was never scared of anything, but she is; she always has been.
After all, there were a bunch of witches who tried to kill her by taking her power when she was just a baby; that's the reason she's even on earth in the first place, because a lot of creatures of darkness want to destroy her because they see her as a threat.
A weapon to easily destroy the enemy, light that tramples on darkness.
Her parents died trying to protect her. They sent her to earth to grow into a bright young woman, but it seems like their death would be in vain because she's about to die right now in the hands of vampires, not witches, a fairy's biggest enemy, but vampires. How pathetic.
She's always wanted to join Alex to go to Euroix to school at Hollow Prep High so she can master her skills, but Patrick kept telling her that he was given specific instructions to take her to Euroix on her 20th birthday because they believed that was when she'd be stronger and creatures of darkness would look for her.
Now she's beginning to think that's not the case, because how did these vampires find her in the first place if her powers aren't getting stronger?
Now she's about to be eaten alive because she can feel the fangs grace her skin. She closes her eyes and waits for death to take its course.
"Hey!" and just like that, the fangs leave her skin, and it's because the vampire has gotten the attention of the individual who dares to interrupt their meal.
"You only got two options, you leave the poor girl alone and we let you go free, or you can try to hurt her and then we'll show you wankers whose boss okay? Your choice."
Wait a minute.
That's not just any individual; that's Alexander Walker, her best friend. Elena quickly turns her head to see if she's right, and yes, she is. There he is, her beautiful best friend with the golden brown skin, neat silver hair, dark cargo pants, black shirt and boots, and he's holding a gold sword.
What is he even doing here? He went to school last week. Why is he back here? Anyways, she's happy he's here, she's not complaining.
"Elves," the other vampires say with disgust.
And Elena notices someone is standing next to Alex. A handsome guy in a hoodie holding an arrow, and it's pointed toward the vampires. And God Damn, that guy is handsome.
"Yeah, yeah, we elves don't really like vampires either, we're even. Just let the girl g,o and things won't be messy. My friend here has an arrow, and he's not afraid to use it on any of you."
The vampire holding Elena looks at her in anger and then looks back at Alex.
"No deal." The vampire bites Elena.
"Wrong move!" Alex holds his sword firmly and begins to attack the vampire, killing them one by one. Elena falls to the ground because she was let go. She looks up to see an arrow in the vampire's throat. The cute boy with the arrow saved her life.
And now she has to do her best to save herself and not be some damsel in distress, and that is by moving out of the battlefield and staying far away. She crawls toward a tree, and she watches as her best friend beats and kills these creatures.
"YES, GET EM! GET EM!" She hypes her best friend.
Elena has seen Alex fight and win, but she has never seen Alex fight like this; now it comes with killing. He does flips, he throws punches, he kicks and stabs these creatures until they turn to ashes.
The handsome guy over there just has to stand there and look pretty while he shoots arrows at the vampires.
Their teamwork pays off because the vampires are gone, they're all gone. Leaving just the three of them.
When Elena sees that the coast is clear. She rises to her feet.
"Elena, are you okay?" Alex says, walking toward her, Elena does the same, and she's about to reply and say she's fine, but then something catches her eye. Three vampires try to ambush the handsome guy with the arrow.
"WATCH OUT!" She shouts, stretching her arms, and that's when a large ray of light illuminates the whole place. The power of the shining sun takes place, and a large amount of light energy shoots out of Elena's hands, targeting the vampires.
The cute guy ducks so her power hits the main targets. They scream and scream in pain. Alex has his eyes closed because of how bright the light is, but he really wants to see what is happening. But he can't open his eyes unless he goes blind.
The vampires are dead, the light is gone, and Elena falls to the ground.
"Elena!" Alex yells, running toward her.
She's fainted.
