Chapter 28 - 28

The next day.

A shocking news story hit the headlines in New York City!

Overnight, the Fisk Tower was brutally attacked.

Chairman Kingpin disappeared, and his top assassin Bullseye was torn to pieces, suspected to be revenge by rivals.

The once all-powerful underworld empire instantly disintegrated!

This news swept through Hell's Kitchen like a tornado!

Kingpin is gone!

The terrifying man who ruled and controlled Hell's Kitchen is no more!

All the gangs are stirring.

Inside a law firm in Hell's Kitchen.

"Hey~ Matt, did you see the morning news?"

A slightly overweight man with curly blonde hair walked up to a man with a cup of coffee.

The man turned around and said faintly, "Foggy, do you think I can see?"

Although he was indoors, the man was wearing sunglasses.

The large sunglasses covered most of the man's face, but judging from the sharp contours of his face, he must have been quite handsome.

"Sorry, sorry..."

Foggy apologized quickly, and said embarrassedly, "I almost forgot, you can't see."

"It's okay."

Matt shook his head slightly, he was used to this kind of thing.

"This is big news!"

Foggy took a sip of coffee and said excitedly, "I guarantee you'll never guess, Matt!"

Big news?

Matt raised his eyebrows, "I'm a little curious, tell me about it, Foggy."

"You know Kingpin, right?" Foggy said, "That man who calls himself the King of the Underworld!"

As soon as he heard this man's name, Matt's face changed instantly, and his body tensed involuntarily.

Crack, crack...

Matt's hands clenched tightly at some point, the knuckles turned white and protruded, making cracking sounds.

"Hey, Matt?"

Foggy noticed that Matt seemed a little strange, and quickly patted him on the shoulder, asking with concern, "Are you okay, you don't look too good?"

"No... I'm fine."

Matt forced a smile, released his clenched fists, took a breath and said, "You haven't said what the news is yet?"

Foggy was still a little worried, "Matt, are you really okay? The way you looked just now..."

"No, I'm fine!"

Matt repeated, 'staring' straight at Foggy through his sunglasses, and said, "What's the news?"

"If you're okay, then that's good."

Foggy shrugged, and didn't bother to play coy, he said bluntly, "Last night, Fisk Tower was attacked, there were no survivors in the entire building, Bullseye and Kingpin are both..."

Crack!

Before he could finish speaking, Foggy saw Matt break the armrest of the chair with his bare hands, and then stand up suddenly!

Foggy's eyelids twitched wildly.

The armrest and seat of this chair are made of metal, but Matt broke it with his bare hands?

Matt grabbed Foggy, his voice a little excited: "Bullseye and Kingpin? What happened to them?"

"Ah~ Ouch, ouch, ouch!"

Foggy's arm was in so much pain from being grabbed, he couldn't help but scream, "Damn it, Matt, you bastard, let go of me, my arm is going to break!"

"Uh... I'm sorry!"

Matt quickly let go and apologized repeatedly.

Hearing the news about Kingpin and Bullseye just now, he was too excited for a moment and completely forgot to hold back.

"Damn it, you're such a bastard!"

Foggy looked at the five purple fingerprints on his arm and couldn't help but complain, "You're too strong,

You almost broke my arm!"

"I'm sorry, Foggy." Matt looked apologetic and said, "I'll buy you coffee another day, please tell me what's going on?"

"Okay, okay..."

Foggy said helplessly, "I heard that Bullseye was torn to pieces by that mysterious man, and the whole office was covered in it."

"Bullseye... is dead?"

Matt was slightly stunned, and then a feeling of loss welled up in his heart.

This feeling was like suddenly losing a goal, not knowing whether to be disappointed or happy.

"Then... what about Kingpin?"

Matt then asked.

Foggy shook his head and said, "I don't know, but his body wasn't found, so he probably ran away."

"Missing?"

Matt's brows furrowed, and he sighed, "Hell's Kitchen... is going to be in big trouble!"

"Big trouble?" Foggy looked puzzled.

He didn't understand, isn't Kingpin a gangster?

Logically speaking, Kingpin's disappearance should be a good thing, so why did Matt say it was a bad thing instead?

"I want Kingpin to die more than anyone else."

Matt looked a little bitter, and said helplessly, "But... at least not now, his disappearance now will only make Hell's Kitchen a mess!"

Kingpin's disappearance is indeed a good thing, but it also contains bad things!

Just like a coin has two sides, Kingpin's existence and disappearance also have two sides!

Hell's Kitchen is a chaotic place, but when Kingpin exists, he can use his influence and means to slightly restrain the chaos here.

This is what Kingpin wants, and it is also what those high-ranking politicians need. Because a place with only chaos is something that no politician wants to see!

It can be said that it is precisely because of Kingpin's existence that he simultaneously restrains the black and white sides, which makes Hell's Kitchen exist in a strange posture, and it has not been swept away by those politicians until now!

But now...

Kingpin has disappeared, his empire has disintegrated, and no one can restrain those madmen anymore.

Foggy seemed to understand, and turned his head to ask, "You seem to know them very well, could it be that you are a superhero?"

"Hehe..."

Matt smiled, neither answering nor denying.

"Hahaha, I'm just kidding."

Foggy then shook his head and smiled, "Besides, how can a blind person be a superhero?"

Matt wasn't angry, just smiled and didn't speak, he picked up his guide cane and said, "Foggy, I'm going back first, please ask Liz for a leave of absence for me."

"Hey, hey, didn't we agree to go to the police station today?"

"You go, I suddenly remembered that I still have something to do."

"Fack! This is your case!"

"Sorry, I'll buy you coffee another day."

"You haven't bought me the last one yet!"

"Definitely next time."

Matt leaned on his guide cane, his figure gradually receding into the distance.

...

Matt Murdock.

During the day, he is a blind lawyer, defending the innocent in Hell's Kitchen.

But at night, he... is a superhero!

Daredevil!

This is the nickname that the people of Hell's Kitchen gave him.

Like a devil in the dark night, he descends from the sky to punish those evil gangsters and save the innocent.

Although he is blind, Matt's other senses are extremely sharp!

Perhaps this is God.

While closing a window for him, he also opened a door for him!

"Tonight... will be a carnival."

Matt 'looked' at the setting sun gradually falling outside the window, and couldn't help but feel a trace of worry in his heart.

Kingpin's disappearance couldn't have come at a worse time...

Recently, the Hand's movements have become more and more frequent, and other gangs are also eager to move.

And at this critical time, Kingpin, who has been in the middle to restrain all parties, has disappeared, which has to be said to be a disaster!

A chaotic zone that has lost the control of the underworld emperor will surely set off a bloody storm tonight!

Can he... withstand it?

Even if he can't withstand it... he must resist!

Because, he is Daredevil!

He is on the side of justice!

How can he fear evil?

A trace of solemnity flashed in Matt's eyes: "No matter what... I will not let you destroy this place!"
