Chapter 1 - the loser

Hi you're probably wondering who I am. Well I have many names. My parents call me Son, my teachers calls me the slacker, my classmates call me loser, the freak, nerd all the classic name calling you see in old movies. My actual name is Sirius. My parents named me after a star, a unique name to help me stand out which is the last thing a homosexual teenage boy needs.

"Freak!" My monologue was cut short by a paper ball hitting the back of my head. I shot a glare at them. Honestly, if I'm destined to be bullied I wish they'd at least come up with something more original!

"Hey, the hell's with that face huh?" The head bully tommo grabbed me by my shirt "you trying to pick a fight bastard!"

"Not at all. I want nothing more than to be left alone. Pointless fighting isn't my style" I moved his hand away before walking on.

"You're such a weirdo Sirius! It's no wonder you have no friends"

"Would you look at that, you do know my name" I smirked before putting my headphones on, muffling out his angry screams. I know I shouldn't taunt him, all I want is a drama free life but sometimes I just can't help myself. You can say I'm a bit of a pety asshole.

My day went the same as normal. Go to class, sleep, move to my next class, sleep and the cycle continues. Sometimes I'd pull out my phone and read some webtoons. It's not exactly normal for a boy but I always love romance stories, especially in a fantasy setting. I love when a story can successfully mix my two favourite genres together though sometimes it feels like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

The one I'm reading right now was interesting. A boy summoned to a strange land is cursed with the power of immortality and is fighting to save the boy he loves, a banished prince from his terrible fate. I felt inspired by the main character and wanted nothing more than for him to achieve his happily ever after-

"Mr Irwin" my head shot up at the head teachers sharp tone "sleeping in class again I see"

"Not sleeping. I was just really taking in your lesson" thankfully I was a master in the art of bullshitting.

"Really? Then you would have no trouble telling us the square route of sixty-five" she eyed me suspiciously.

"Sixth-nine" I said confidently.

"Not even close" she tutted before handing me a note "be sure to let your parents know that you'll be having after-school detention"

"Great" I grumbled as a chorus of laughter followed me out the door. How am I going to explain this to my parents-

I stopped, blinking in surprise. My regular classroom door was gone, replaced by a bustling town filled with fantasy creatures.

"What!"
