Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

My name is (Y/N) Gilbert, and today is the first day of school for me and my other two siblings, who are younger. Other than feeling sleepy, I began to feel as if today was going to be far worse than usual; however, I got up from my bed. Sluggishly, I make it over to my mirror and brush my (H/C) (H/L) hair and sigh as my (E/C) shimmered in the sunlight. Putting on a smile and began to get dressed, do my make-up, and then curl my hair.

"You have to be strong for both Elena and Jeremy. You're always the one who has their stuff together. You can do this!" I state as I finish getting ready. Walking out of my room and into the hallway, I see my sister's door open, so I walk in to see my younger 2-minute fraternal twin, Elena. Staring into the mirror in deep thought, she put on one of her award-winning fake smiles. "Nice to see you're up and ready. Unlike Jar, who is probably still sleeping." I smile, and she turns to me with a surprised expression and a giggle.

"Yeah, you're probably right," Elena affirms as she continues to gather her stuff.

"Well, I'll go get his lazy ass up." I declare as I walk over to Jeremy's room and knock on the door.

"I'm already up!" Jeremy called out, and I heaved a sigh of relief. "Wow, he's actually up, that's a first." I thought to myself and began to walk down stairs as I saw Aunt Jenna running around like a chicken with her head cut off, and I turned to see Elena walk down the stairs.

"Aunt Jenna, calm down." I insist, and she turns to me, but then something pops into her head as she walks over to the fridge, and Elena heads towards the coffee pot. "Aunt Jenna is far from being a Mom, but she's all we have since our parents died, and doing the best she can, and I know we all appreciate her for it." I think to myself.

"Toast. I can make Toast." Aunt Jenna said with the fridge open, looking over at us.

"It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna," Elena states as she begins pouring herself a cup.

"You still need food, not just coffee, Elena," I argue, and I hear someone coming down the stairs.

"I'm fine with coffee right now, (Y/N)," Elena assures, before I could say anything, Jeremy comes in.

"Is there coffee?" Jeremy asks, and Aunt Jenna begins to run around again in a hurry.

"Your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared." Aunt Jenna says, while I'm also getting a cup of coffee. "Lunch money?" Aunt Jenna questions, holding her hands out to us.

"I'm good," Elena responds. I put my hand up, smiling.

'I'm fine as well, but thank you." I thank, but Jeremy then takes the money from her hand, and she turns.

"Anything else? A number two pencil? What am I missing?" Aunt Jenna asks as I take a sip of my coffee, which was a little hot and burned my tongue.

"Don't you have a big presentation today? Also (Y/N) of course the coffee's hot, it was just made. Did you burn your mouth?" Elena asks with a worried expression, but I then take the cup from my mouth and smile while shaking my head.

"Nope. I'm just fine." I answer, hiding the pain my tongue felt.

"I'm meeting with my thesis advisor at Now, crap!" Aunt Jenna curses as she begins to freak out even more while taking her hair down.

"Then go. We'll be fine." Elena states, and Aunt Jenna turns to me.

"Yup, we'll be just fine. Hurry before you're late!" I insist, she lets out a sigh as she quickly walks away. Elena then turns to Jeremy with a worried expression.

"You ok?" Elena asks, I then turn to them.

"Don't start," Jeremy answers as he begins to walk away.

"Jer," I say, but he continues to walk away without saying anything, while drinking his coffee. I then turn to Elena and smile at her. "It's okay, Elena, he just needs some space. Guys cope in different ways." I say, she nods, still looking in the direction he left, but then she turns around and begins to drink her coffee. I then turn to face the TV in the living room and see two people on it. One named Darren Malloy, Age 24, and Brooke Fenton, Age 22. Suddenly, my head began to hurt. I shut my eyes as I saw a car hit a person. It then pulled over, and the man I just saw on TV got out of the car. He then walked over to the body. Suddenly, as if time skipped, I saw the girl on TV get out of the car when the guy suddenly dropped onto the car and he was dead with a massive gash in his neck, and the woman began to run away. Suddenly, I began to hear her scream as it began to drown out.

"(Y/N), (Y/N) snap out of it!" Elena calls out, and I look around to see that I was on the ground, and I felt something wet fall onto my face. I looked up to see Elena crying. I gave her a frightened expression and hugged her.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what just happened. I just looked at the TV and it was as if I just saw how they died." I said, and Elena then began patting my head.

"It's okay, you just had another attack," Elena says. I nod as she helps me up off the ground while wiping the tears from her eyes. "For some reason, after our parents died, I've been having these attacks that happen at random to where I see something related to that person I saw, and it's usually about a person's death." I think to myself and then turn to Elena. "All right, let's get to school before we're late," I say with a smile. Suddenly, we hear a honk outside, and we grab our stuff and rush out of the house to see Bonnie's car. We both get in and begin heading to school.

"So Grams is telling me I'm psychic. Our ancestors were from Salem. Which isn't all that, I know, crazy. But she's going on and on about it, and I'm like, put this woman in a home already. But then I started thinking, I predicted Obama and I predicted Heath Ledger and I still think Florida will break off and turn into little resort islands." Bonnie says, and I smile as I keep thinking about what to say, that I should tell Bonnie, seeing how she's talking like this. "Elena! Back in the car." Bonnie says, looking over at Elena, who looks out of it.

"I did it again, didn't I? I-I'm sorry, Bonnie. You were telling me that." Elena says.

"That I'm psychic now," Bonnie says while looking at the road.

"Right. Okay, then predict something about me and (Y/N)." Elena says. Suddenly, I felt a weird feeling envelop my whole body. "What the hell is the feeling? I've never felt anything like this before." I think to myself.

"I see--" Bonnie was suddenly interrupted by something hitting the windshield, and begins to quickly go over to the curve and stopped, and the feeling I was having disappeared. "What was that!? Oh my god!" Bonnie exclaims, and we all lean back in the car. "Elena (Y/N), are you both ok?" Bonnie asks.

"It's okay. I'm fine." Elena says.

"Yeah, I'm okay as well," I say, beginning to smile again.

"It was like a bird or something. It came out of nowhere." Bonnie says.

"Really, I can't be freaked out by cars for the rest of my life," Elena says, and I then put my hand on her arm and rub it to comfort her. And I hear Bonnie exhale.

"That's the spirit, girly," I say encouragingly.

"I predict this year is going to be kick ass. And I predict all the sad and dark times are over, and you both are going to be beyond happy." Bonnie says. We all begin to smile.

"Hell yeah, we are!" I exclaim as I throw both my hands up.

"Alright, let's get to school," Bonnie says as she then begins to drive again.

(Time skip)

We finally made it to school and walked down the hallway. "Major lack of male real estate. Look at the shower curtain on Kelly Beach. She looks a hot- can I still say tranny mess?" Bonnie asks as we make it to our lockers.

"No, that's over," Elena says, and I giggle.

"Ahh, find a man, coin a phrase. It's a busy year." Bonnie says as she looks over at Matt, Elena's ex-boyfriend. Elena then turns around to see him as well, and she lifts her hand to gesture at him. However, he gets his stuff from his locker and then turns away, and she turns back to us.

"He hates me," Elena says, looking depressed as Bonnie and I continue to put stuff in our lockers.

"That's not hate," I say, and Bonnie begins to finish my sentence as if on cue.

"That's you dumped me, but I'm too cool to show it. But secretly I'm listening to Air Supply's greatest hits." Bonnie says as I giggle to myself.

"Elena, (Y/N). Oh my god. How are both of you?" Caroline asks as she comes up and hugs us both, then lets go. "Oh, it's so good to see you both. How is Elena? Is she good?" Carolina asks, looking at both me and Bonnie, and I laugh a little bit louder.

"Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine, thank you." Elena says as she smiles.

"Really?" Caroline asks, pushing Elena to the brink.

"Yes. Much better." Elena says, Caroline hugs her again.

"Oh, you poor thing," Caroline says as she hugs harder this time.

"Ok, Caroline," Elena says, sounding strained, and I tap Caroline's shoulder. She lets go while smiling.

"Ok, see you guys later?" Caroline asks, and we all smile.

"Ok! Bye," Elena says, and Caroline continues down the hall. We all look at each other. "No comment. I'm not going to say anything." Elena says, We begin to walk down the hallway.

(To Jeremy)

'Don't take more than two in a six-hour window." Jeremy says as he hands Vicki some pills, and she downs them.

"Hey, Vicki. I knew I'd find you here with the crackheads." Tyler says, walking over to Vicki, who then hugs him.

"Hey," Vicki says as Jeremy sucks on a cigarette.

"Hey, Pete Wentz called. He wants his nail polish back." Tyler says teasingly.

"Pete Wentz, huh? How old school T.R.L. of you. Carson Daly Fan?" Jeremy asks, being sarcastic.

"Oh, Ty, be nice. Be nice. That's Elena and (Y/N)'s little brother." Vicki says.

"I know who he is. I'll still kick his ass." Tyler says.

"Yeah, and then (Y/N) will kick yours," Vicki says with a giggle and then begins to kiss.

(Back to me, Bonnie, and Elena)

We were still walking in the hallway when Bonnie stopped. "Hold up. Who's this?" Bonnie asks.

"All I see is back," Elena says as I turn to see a guy with dark hair, a black jacket on, and some shades.

"It's a hot back," Bonnie says as we stand there and stare at him, but I begin to feel something weird while staring at him. "What is this weird feeling I'm getting from him? It's unlike anything I've ever felt before." I thought to myself.

"Please look again." I hear the guy say as he takes off his shades. "I'm sure everything you need is there." The guy said again, but as he did, the feeling felt even worse. I felt a slight pain in my head. I kept watching as I saw the lady turn her head down to the papers in front of her.

"Well, you're right. So it is." The lady responded, and a suspicious expression appeared on my face as the pain began to slip away. "I could have sworn she said the papers weren't there. She just looked back down at the papers in her hand, but they were the same papers as before. What's going on here?" I wonder to myself.

"I'm sensing Seattle, and he plays the guitar," Bonnie says while looking at him. Elena scoffs.

"You're really going to run this whole psychic thing into the ground, huh?" Elena asks, and I turn to both of them.

"Pretty much," Bonnie says.

"I don't know about all that, but there is something not right about this guy," I say. They both look at me.

"(Y/N) what do you mean?" Elena asks, and they both look at me as I keep staring at him.

"(Y/N) Are you having another episode again?" Bonnie asks.

"Jeremy, good batch, man." I hear a guy in the hallway say, and I pop back into reality, and we all look to see Jeremy walking down the hallway, then he walks through a door.

"I'll be right back," Elena says. I nod.

"Me too," I say with an angry expression, and we begin to walk away.

(Bonnie)

She is still looking at the guy. "Please be hot," Bonnie says.

(Elena and I)

We both walk into the bathroom to see Jeremy putting in eye drops. "Whoa! Pants down, chicks!" A dude says as we walk in, and I turn to him.

"Then fucking pull them up before you walk out of the stall, asshole!" I exclaim as I glare at him, and he quickly scurries out of the bathroom. I turn to see Elena holding onto Jeremy's face and looking into his eyes.

"Great. It's the first day of school and you're stoned." Elena says.

"No, I'm not," Jeremy says. I then began to get pissed.

"Where is it? Is it on you?" Elena says, I glare at Jeremy.

"Stop, all right?! You need to chill yourself, all right?" Jeremy exclaims.

"Chill myself? What is that, stoner talk? Dude, you are so cool." Elena says while trying to search him.

"Look, stop! I don't have anything on me. Are you crazy?" Jeremy asks.

"You haven't seen crazy, Jeremy! We gave you a summer pass, but I am done. watching you destroy yourself. Elena says, he goes to leave, but she pushes him back down. "No, no, no, you know what? Go ahead. Keep it up. But just know that I am going to be there to ruin your buzz every time, you got it?" Elena asks as the toilet flushes and a guy walks out. "Jeremy, I know who you are. And it's not this person. So don't be this person." Elena says, I am completely infuriated.

"I don't need this," Jeremy says and goes to leave, but I grab his collar and bring his eyes to mine and glare at him.

"You don't need this, you say? Well, I'll tell you what we don't need. We don't need you getting stoned on the first day of school, when you did it all summer. I was trying to let you get over it in your own way, but I'm only going to tell you once. I'm not going to stand still, letting you ruin your life, so Elena and I are going to watch you like a hawk. So now you are free to go!" I say, letting go of his collar, he walks out of the bathroom looking pissed off.

(Bonnie)

"Thank you." The guy says, then turns around as Bonnie continues to look at him.

"You're welcome." The secretary said, the guy kept walking, Bonnie's eyes widened as he walked passed, down the hallway. Bonnie then began to follow him as he walked down the hallway and caught the eye of Caroline.

(Elena and I)

I then began to calm down as I put a smile back on my face. "Well, that wasn't a great talk," I say. Elena then walked out the door, and I followed after her when I saw that she ran into the guy we saw before, as I walked out of the bathroom as well. Suddenly, the feeling was back again, but my head began to pulsate with pain as I looked up at him. Suddenly, I closed my eyes and saw a scene come into view, and I looked down to see countless dead bodies, and saw the guy I had seen just now, who was covered in blood.

"Uh, pardon me. Um, is this the men's room?" The guy asks, looking a bit confused.

"Yes. Um, I was just, um- I was just-" Elena was stuttering. I popped into reality and then into the conversation.

"It's a long story, gotta go bye," I said as I grabbed Elena's hand and began to quickly walk away, as Elena looked back at him. "I don't know what the hell I just saw, but all I know is we need to stay away from that guy!" I think to myself.

(Time skip)

We finally made it to class. "Once our home state of Virginia joined the Confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state. People in Virginia's northwest region had different ideals than those from the traditional Deep South. Then, Virginia divided in 1863." I then began to quit listening as the teacher was talking because my head began to feel hazy. After all, the same guy I told myself to avoid is in the same classroom. Even though I am sitting in the very back of the classroom, I can still feel this feeling. I then saw my sister look back at him, and I guess he saw her looking at him cause she smiled as she turned away. "Great, my sister is making goo-goo eyes at the dangerous guy, wonderful!" I think to myself as I try to get that image out of my head. Suddenly, my phone that was in my lap buzzed to see it was from Bonnie.

"Hawt- e staring @ u, Elena." The text said, and I put my hand to my face. "Does she not realize she sent it to our group chat?" I asked myself and typed back to her.

"You just sent that in the group chat, Bonnie!" I send, looking over at Bonnie, she smiles once she gets the message.

(Time skip)

It was finally after school, and Elena told you she wanted to visit Mom and Dad's grave, which I haven't been able to bring myself to go anywhere near there, so I told her I would go home, and we went our separate ways. I then began my walk home with my headphones in. I was getting closer to home. I felt a bunch of wind fly past me, and I heard a whoosh sound, and I felt terrible, almost like how I felt around that Stefan guy from school, but this feeling was much, much worse. "What the hell is this feeling. Damn, I knew today was going to be a bad day." I then began walking again, but as I did, I kept getting the feeling I was being watched. I sped up my pace and began looking around as I did.

(Jeremy)

"Hey," Jeremy says as he walks up to Vicki.

"Working," Vicki says, turning around with food in her hand. She then began walking over to a table, which had Matt and Tyler sitting at it.

"Thanks, Vicki," Matt says when she puts his food down in front of her.

"Do you need another refill?" Vicki asks, looking at Tyler.

"I'd love one," Tyler says, looking as Vicki took his cup and began walking back over past Jeremy.

"Please tell me you're not hooking up with my sister," Matt says, looking over at Tyler.

"I'm not hooking up with your sister," Tyler says.

"You're such a dick," Matt says.

"Hey, what's your deal? I mean, summer you act one way and then school starts and you can't be bothered." Jeremy says.

"Look, Jeremy, I really appreciate all the pharmaceuticals, but you can't keep following me around like a lost puppy," Vicki says.

"When's the last time you had sex with a puppy?" Jeremy asks.

"Hey, keep it down. I don't want to tell the whole world I deflowered Elena and (Y/N)'s kid brother." Vicki says.

"Yeah, and deflowered and deflowered," Jeremy says.

"We hooked up a few times in a drug haze. It's over. You gotta back off before you ruin things between me and Tyler." Vicki says.

"Oh, come on, the guy's a total douche. He only wants you for your ass." Jeremy says, Vicki turns to him.

"Yeah? What do you want me for?" Vicki asks, hitting him as she walks passed him.

"His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle up at the old Salvatore boarding house. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they moved around a lot. He's a Gemini, and his favorite color is blue." Caroline explains as she walks into the grill.

"You got all of that in one day?" Bonnie asks.

"Oh, please, I got all that between the third and fourth period. We're planning a June wedding." Caroline says as she lifts her hand and walks away.

(To Me)

I had finally made it to the front door of the house, and whatever I had been feeling suddenly vanished, and I let out a sigh of relief and went into the house and up to my room. I began to do the homework that I was assigned. I finally finished it all when Elena opened the door and walked over to me, and sat on my bed.

"So you know how I said I was going to visit Mom and Dad's grave?" Elena asks, and I nod my head with a puzzling look on my face.

"Yeah, so?" I ask, she smiles.

"Well, as I was sitting down writing in my diary, a fog had begun to roll in, and there was this creepy crow there that kept squawking. I got scared and then started running after grabbing my things. I had fallen." Elena says

"Why are you smiling? Are you okay? Are you hurt?!' I asked, a little freaked out, but she then giggled as she shook her head.

"After I fell, I met Stefan, the new guy from school. I think we had a little connection, but then he asked me if I got hurt, and I then looked to see and I did a little bit, but it ain't bad, but he told me I should go treat it and was gone, it was kind of weird." Elena says with a smile, looking genuinely happy. "Dammit, she looks so happy I can't possibly tell her to stay away from him now!" I then smiled at her.

"I'm glad you're happy, but just because I'm a worrywart. I want you to be careful and go take care of whatever injury you got." I said sternly, and she giggled.

"Alright, alright, don't lose your head," Elena says as she walks out of my room. I begin to worry. "I knew today was going to be awful. I can't explain these feelings, but I know they aren't good. Especially what I say about that Stefan guy, however, I wonder what that feeling or presence was?" I think to myself.

(Time Skip)

Suddenly, Elena burst into my room with a black dress on and began yelling at me. "Bonnie wants both of us to meet her at the grill and put something good on!" Elena shouts, and I then get up and begin to get changed and put my hair in a ponytail (if hair is long enough).

"(Y/N), you ready yet?!" Elena exclaims.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" I shouted out as I then began walking out of the room with my side purse on. We both then walk down to see Aunt Jenna.

"We're meeting Bonnie at the Grill," Elena says, passing Jenna.

"Okay, have fun. Wait, I got this. Don't stay out late, it's a school night." Aunt Jenna says with a smirk, and we both chuckle.

"Well done, Aunt Jenna." We both say in unison, and we both walk to the door. I then begin feeling bad once again. "Don't tell me that guy from school is here." I think to myself as I open the door to see Stefan.

"Sorry, I was about to knock. I wanted to apologize for my disappearing act earlier... I know it was Strange." Stefan said, and I then began to feel my head pounding.

"No worries. I get it, blood makes you squeamish." Elena says with a smile.

"Um, something like that. How's your leg?" Stefan asks.

"Oh, it's fine. Just a scratch, barely. How did you know where I lived?" Elena asked, and I then began thinking back to when I was coming home. "Could he have been the one following me? That's impossible if he was with Elena, though." I began to think.

"It's a small town. I asked the first person I saw." Stefan says, then reaches into his pocket. "Um, I thought you might want this back," Stephan says as he holds out Elena's dairy.

"Oh, I must have dropped it. I- thank you." Elena says, grabbing it.

"Don't worry, I didn't read it," Stefan says, and Elena smiles. "This guy seems so nice. Why did I have such a vision of him and feel a bad feeling from him? This doesn't make any sense." I think to myself.

"No? Why not? Most people would have." Elena asks.

"Well, I wouldn't want anyone to read mine," Stefan says.

"You keep a journal," Elena says.

"Yeah, if I don't write it down, I forget it. Memories are too important." Stefan says.

"Yeah. I'm just gonna, um, you don't have to stay out there. I'll be right back (Y/N)." Elena says as she walks back into the house, and he then walks up, and I look at him.

"I'm fine," he says, hanging on the outside door.

"Welp, since my sister didn't want to introduce me, I'll just do it myself. My name is (Y/N). Nice to meet you." I say with a smile as the pain begins to decrease for some reason..

"You probably already know my name, so it's nice to meet you (Y/N)," Stefan says, and Elena finally comes back. "Sorry, were you both going somewhere?" Stefan asks.

"Yeah, we're meeting a friend. Do you wanna come?" Elena asks.

(to Bonnie)

"How's Elena doing?" Matt asks Bonnie.

"Her Mom and Dad died. How do you think? She's putting on a good face, but it's only been four months." Bonnie says.

"Has she said anything about me?" Matt asks.

"Oh, no. So not getting in the middle. You pick up the phone and call her." Bonnie says Backing up.

"I feel weird calling her. She broke up with me, also I'm a bit scared of (Y/N)." Matt says.

"Give it more time, Matt. Also (Y/N) isn't scary at all." Bonnie says, and then looks over to see me, Elena, and Stefan walk in as everyone begins to stare at us.

"More time, huh?" Matt says as he gets up from the table and walks up to Stefan. "Hey, I'm Matt, nice to meet you," Matt says, holding his hand out.

"Hi. Stefan." Stefan says as he shakes his hand, then lets go, and Matt looks over at Elena.

"Hey," Elena says.

"Hey," Matt says back.

(Time skip)

Caroline, Bonnie, me, Stefan, and Elena all sat at a table and began talking. "So you were born in Mystic Falls?" Caroline asks. "This is weird, the longer I am near this guy, the more the pain decreases; however, I still feel a bad feeling though." I think to myself.

"Mm-hmm. And moved when I was still young." Stefan answered.

"Parents?" Bonnie asked.

"My parents passed away," Stefan answered, looking at all of us and then at Elena.

'I'm sorry, any siblings?" Elena asks.

"None that I talk to. I live with my uncle." Stefan says. "So no parents. Doesn't talk to siblings and lives with an uncle. Not that suspicious. Maybe I have this dude all wrong." I think to myself

"So, Stefan, if you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow," Caroline says.

"It's a back-to-school thing at the falls," Bonnie says.

"Are you going?" Stefan asks Elena.

"Of course she is," Bonnie says, and Elena then smiles.

"Welp, if Elena's going, then I guess I'll go this year too," I say as I smile at Bonnie.

(Time skip)

It was the next day, we were in History class, and today I was actually listening, unlike yesterday, since today I actually felt no pain in my head, just the bad feeling, which wasn't so bad. The battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. "How many casualties resulted in the battle? Ms. Bennett?" The history teacher asks.

"Um, A lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." Bonnie answers, and I chuckle to myself.

Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan. Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?" The teacher asks.

"It's ok, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it," Matt says with a smile.

"Hmm. Gilbert." Mr. Tanner says, and both Elena and I sit up. "Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significant Historical events?" Mr. Tanner asks.

"I'm sorry, I-I don't know," Elena says.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena, but the personnel excuses ended with summer break." Mr. Tanner says.

"There were 346 casualties, unless you're counting local civilians," Stefan speaks out.

"That's correct. Mister..." Mr. Tanner says

"Salvatore," Stefan says.

"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" Mr. Tanner asked, and Stefan then nodded his head.

"Distant," Stefan says.

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle." Mr. Tanner says.

"Actually, there were 27, Sir. Confederate soldiers fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder. archives are, uh, stored in Civil Hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts." Mr. Tanner. Stefan says, and we all begin to smile.

"Hmm." Mr. Tanner says.

(Time skip)

We were at the party, and I just wore the clothes I went to school in, but I had taken my hair down. Bonnie and Elena were talking about Stefan by the campfire. "Just admit it, Elena," Bonnie says.

"Oh, okay, so he's a little pretty," Elena says, and I scoff.

"A little pretty my ass," I say, giggling, and she looks at me with an annoyed expression.

"He has that romance novel stare. Stefan looked deep into her eyes, piercing her very soul." Bonnie says teasingly, and I began to laugh, but then I could feel the bad feeling and looked over to see Stefan talking to Caroline.

"Hey! You made it!" Caroline says excitedly.

"I did," Stefan says.

"Well, let's get you a drink," Caroline says.

"Well, I'm-"

"Oh, come on," Caroline says as she drags him away.

"So where is he?" Bonnie asks.

"I don't know. You tell me, you're the psychic one." Elena says.

"Right, I forgot. Ok, so give me a sec. Grams says I have to concentrate." Bonnie says, and I giggle.

"Wait, you need a crystal ball," Elena says as she turns around.

"Ahh." Bonnie sounds when Elena bends down and picks up a bear bottle, and I laugh again.

"Ta-da," Elena says, and Bonnie then grabs it, but makes a scared expression, then releases it. "What?" Elena asks.

"That was weird. When I touched you, I saw a crow.' Bonnie says, and I then come closer to her.

"What?" Elena asks. "A crow, but didn't Elena say that a crow was bothering her at the cemetery?" I think to myself.

"A crow. There was fog, a man. I'm drunk. It's the drinking. There's nothing psychic about it. Yeah? Ok, I'm gonna get a refill." Bonnie says.

"I'm gonna go too, be right back," I say as I follow Bonnie. "I have to find out more, cause I've been doing the same thing as her. I think to myself. We continue to walk, and I catch up to her. You actually saw that right?" I was determined, and she stopped and turned to me with a concerned expression.

"Yeah, I did (Y/N) it was weird," Bonnie says.

"Ok, so you know those attacks or episodes I have. I believe they might be just like what you just did." I say, and she looks at me. "I have done it since Mom and Dad died. I mean, I don't know if I'm psychic like you or what, but I see stuff I think that's in the past, like you did just now. You said a crow, fog, and a man." I say, and she then begins to shake her head, but I grab her arm to keep her here.

"I'm telling you I'm just drunk (Y/N)," Bonnie says, but I shake my head.

"No, Bonnie. Elena, the other day, went to the Cemetery to visit our parents said she had a crow bothering her, and then some fog crept in. Then she said that she met Stefan. I think you saw what happened before." I say, and she looks up at me in awe.

"So we are psychic?" She asks, and I shrug my shoulders.

"I have no idea, but whatever we are, we'd better start listening to your grandma," I say, but she still looked uncertain. We then continue over to get a refill as I begin to tell her about my visions, starting with my very first one.

(to Elena)

Elena was still in the same place we had left her, and she turned around to see Stefan. "Hi," Stefan says, and she chuckles.

"Hi," Elena says.

"I did it again, didn't I?" Stefan asks, and Elena nods with a smile.

"Yeah," Elena says.

"I'm sorry. You're upset about something." Stefan says, looking at her with a worried look.

"Oh, huh, no, it's Bonnie and (Y/N). Their. You know what? Never mind. You're here." Elena says, looking at him.

"I'm here," Stefan says, and they then begin to walk.

"You know, you're kind of the talk of the town," Elena says as they continue to walk.

"Am I?" Stefan asks while smiling.

"Mm-hmm. Mysterious new guy, oh, yeah." Elena says, nodding her head.

"Well, you have the mysterious thing going, too. Twinge in sadness." Stefan says.

"What makes you think that I'm sad?" Elena asks.

"Well, we did meet in a graveyard," Stefan says.

"Right. Well, no, technically, we met in the men's room. You don't want to know, it's not exactly party chit-chat." Elena says.

"Well, I've never really been very good at, uh, chit-chat," Stefan says.

"Last spring, my parents' car drove off a bridge into the lake, and I was in the backseat and I survived, but they didn't. So that's my story." Elena says, and Stefan stops in his tracks, and Elena stops while looking back at him.

"You won't be sad forever, Elena," Stefan says, and she then smiles.

(To Vicki and Tyler)

They were both making out under a tree. "No, Ty. I'm not having sex against a tree." Vicki says.

"Oh, come on, it would be hot," Tyler says.

"For who? No, it's not going to happen, not here, not like this. No. I said no. Oh, that hurts!" Vicki calls out.

"Hey, leave her alone," Jeremy calls out, and Vicki pushes Tyler off of him.

"You know, you're starting to get on my nerves, Gilbert," Tyler says.

"Just go, Tyler, get the hell away from me," Vicki says.

"Wow. Vicki Donovan says no. That's a first." Tyler says as he then walks away.

"I didn't need your help," Vicki says.

"It seems like you did," Jeremy says.

"He was just drunk," Vicki says.

"I'm drunk. Am I throwing myself at you?" Jeremy says.

"No, you're worse. You want to talk to me, get to know me, see into my soul, and screw and screw and screw until you're done with me." Vicki says.

"Is that what you think?" Jeremy asks.

"That's what I know," Vicki says and then walks away.

(to me and Bonnie)

Finally, after telling her all the other ones, I got to the vision I saw about Stefan. "Okay, this one you have to promise me you won't tell Elena, okay?" I ask and she nods.

"I promise I won't," Bonnie says.

"When I first saw him in the office, I started to feel pain in my head; it was throbbing, and at the same time, I felt an awful feeling coming from him. When I got away from him and went into the restroom, I was fine and felt no more pain. However, when we walked out of the boys' restroom, I looked up at his face and began to have a vision. I looked around me to see dozens of corpses on the ground with their neck bitten like the couple I told you earlier. I then saw in the middle of those corpses Stefan covered in blood, and as I was having this vision, I was feeling the same thing I felt staring at him in the office." I explain.

"What do you think is going on (Y/N)?" Bonnie asked, and I shook my head.

"I don't know, but I know that guy is keeping something very dark about himself secret. So you and I have to keep an eye on him, especially around Elena, since she didn't want to listen to me about being cautious of him." I say, and Bonnie nods in agreement. We then begin to walk when I see Caroline and Matt, and we walk over to them. They had been talking about Elena and if she was with Stefan or not, as I looked over to where they were to see her on a bridge talking to Stefan, and began to ignore Matt, Bonnie's and Caroline's conversation.

(to Elena and Stefan)

"I like Bonnie; she seems like a good friend," Stefan says.

"Best friend in the world," Elena says, smiling.

"And Matt, he can't seem to, uh, take his eyes off of us," Stefan says, looking over at Matt and us.

"Matt's... That friend since childhood, that you start dating because you owe it to yourselves to see if you can be more," Elena says, and Stefan nods.

"And?" Stefan asks.

"And then my parents died, and everything changed. Anyway, Matt and I, together we just, I don't know, it wasn't, um, it wasn't..." Elena stutters.

"Passionate," Stefan says, and she smiles.

"No. No, it wasn't passionate." Elena says. Suddenly, as I was watching them, I began to feel pain in my head once again and grabbed it. "What the hell, why did the pain come back all of a sudden? Is something happening to Elena up there?" I wonder to myself as I try to endure the pain.

"Hey, um, are you ok? Um, your eye, it's just it's..." Elena stutters.

"Oh, um." Stefan then rubs his eyes, and the pain dissipates, and I look up to see nothing has happened, and let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah, no. It's, um, it's nothing. Um, are you thirsty? I'm gonna get us a drink." Stefan says as he begins to walk away.

"Looks like something happened up there," Caroline says with a smirk.

"What do you mean?" Matt asks, confused, and I look up at Elena, who looks confused.

"I wouldn't celebrate just yet, Caroline. Sis looks confused, so I don't think that they argued." I say, and she begins to pout. Elena had then walked off the bridge and gone back to the party, and then Matt walked over to her, and I watched from a distance.

"Looking for someone?" Matt asks.

"Hey," Elena says, and I then felt the presence again, and I looked to where it was coming from. I see Stefan emerge from the woods while looking over at Elena and Matt.

"When you broke up with me, you said it was because you needed some time alone. You don't look so alone to me." Matt says.

"Matt, you don't understand. Its-"

"That's okay, Elena. You do what you have to do. I just want to let you know that I still believe in us. And I'm not giving up on that." Matt says and then walks away.

"Matt," Elena says. I looked back over to see that Caroline had gotten to Stefan, so I began to walk over, trying to be undetected.

"Hey! There you are. Have you been down to the falls yet? Because they are really cool at night, and I can show you. If you want." Caroline says, and I giggle quietly.

"I think you've had too much to drink," Stefan says, and I giggle again.

"Well, of course I have. So- "

"Caroline. You and me, it's not gonna happen. Sorry." Stefan says, and I almost busted out laughing, but kept it in, and then Stefan walked away over to Elena, who was on the bench.

"I was wondering who abducted you, but now I know," Elena says. When I pop my head up and Elena jumps.

"Yep, held captive by the infamous Caroline Forbes, who has been shut down," I say with a smirk as I'm eyeing Stefan, and he smiles.

"Is she like that with, uh, all the guys?" Stefan asks, and I chuckle.

"No. You're fresh meat. Shell back off eventually." Elena says, and I then sit up beside her.

"You are putting that way too delicately," I say, and Elena looks at me, annoyed.

"(Y/N) can you go run off and make new friends or something?" Elena asked, and I shook my head.

"Just trying to make sure my adorable sister isn't eaten up by the wolf in sheep's clothing over her. But whatever, have fun, you two." I say and begin to walk off.

"Hmm. I don't think she likes me very much." Stefan says, when I hear a bottle break and both Elena and I look over to see Jeremy stumbling around.

"God, you gotta be kidding me!" Elena calls out.

"What is it?" Stefan asks.

"My brother," Elena answers.

"The drunk one?" Stefan asks, and she goes to move, but I wave my hand to her, gesturing to stay put, and she does as I go running after Jeremy.

"Jeremy!" I call out, but he continues to walk. "Jeremy, where the hell are you going?!"I shout and continue to walk after him when he stops and turns to me.

"I don't want to hear it," Jeremy says.

"Yeah, well, too bad!" I call out as Jeremy, then falls and I hear a grunt.

"Vicki? No! Oh my god, it's Vicki!" Jeremy says, and I then hear someone behind me, and I see Elena.

"Oh, my god!" Elena says. "This couldn't have been Stefan, he was with my sister, but Vicki has the same bite mark as the people in my vision from the other morning and when I first saw Stefan." I think to myself. Suddenly, as I got a good look at her face, I closed my eyes and I began to see a woman, whom I believe to be Vicki, walking alone. Suddenly, she was looking around when something grabbed her, and she screamed. And I then opened my eyes as I popped back into reality. "My guess is the same thing that killed those people the other day on the news." I think to myself

"No!" Jeremy says and then goes to touch her neck to see if she is still alive. She then woke up and lifted. We then picked her up and began to carry her while shouting for help.

"Somebody help!" Elena screamed as we got her back to everyone, and Matt rushed over to us.

"Vicki? Vicki, what the hell?!" Matt exclaims

"What happened to her?!" Tyler exclaimed.

"Somebody, call an ambulance!" Matt exclaims.

"Everybody back up, give her some space!" Tyler announces and turns back, pushing them back.

"It's her neck. Something bit her. She's losing a lot of blood." Elena says. "She is obviously gonna be the nurse of the family." I think to myself, keeping my distance a bit.

"Put this on her neck," Matt says, handing something to Elena.

"Vicki, Vicki, come on, open your eyes, look at me," Jeremy says as both Matt and I look up to Stefan begins to walk backwards and disappear into the crowd. "What the hell was that all about just now? It kind of looked as if he was running away." I think as I keep looking in the direction he left.

(Stefan)

He ran all the way home and ran into the house. "What's going on?" Zach asks.

"Someone else was attacked tonight, Zach, and it wasn't me. " Stefan says as he runs up to his room. Suddenly, a crow flies into his room while squawking. Suddenly, he turns to see someone on the balcony. Damon. Stefan says, looking at the guy with ashy brown hair a beautiful blue eyes who was smirking.

"Hello, brother," Damon says.

"Crows a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan asks, a little annoyed.

"Wait till you see what I can do with the fog," Damon says, looking over at his brother.

"When did you get here?" Stefan asks.

"Well, I couldn't miss your first day at school," Damon says, walking over to a shelf. "Your hair's different. I like it." Damon says.

"It's been 15 years, Damon," Stefan says.

"Thank god. I couldn't take another day of the nineties. That horrible, grungy look? Did not suit you." Damon says as he begins to walk around the room, and Stefan follows him. "Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads," Damon says happily.

"Why are you here?" Stefan says, getting more annoyed.

"I miss my little brother," Damon says, turning to him while smiling.

"You hate small towns. It's boring. There's nothing for you to do." Stefan says.

"I've managed to keep myself busy," Damon says as he begins walking again.

"You know, you left that girl alive tonight. That's very clumsy of you." Stefan says, then Damon turns to him with an uncomfortable face.

"Ah. That can be a problem for you." Damon says, smiling at Stefan.

"Why are you here now?" Stefan asks.

"I could ask you the same question. However, I'm fairly certain your answer can be summed up all into one little word, Elena. However, brother, if I were you, I would be more cautious of the other sister. Her name was (Y/N), wasn't it? She has some pretty good instincts; she even sensed me." Damon says, and Stefan glares at him.

"What did you do, Damon?" Stefan asks.

"I may or may not have followed her home, seeing if she was easy prey, but she is very amusing," Damon says.

(to me and Elena)

The police and Ambulance finally arrived and loaded Vicki into the Ambulance on the stretcher, and Matt hopped in after. I was standing beside Elena with a worried expression. Suddenly, Bonnie walked over to us. "Hey, we're gonna go to Mainline Coffee, wait for news," Bonnie says.

"We have to take Jeremy home," Elena says, and I nod.

"Yeah, he looks very shaken up," I say.

"Elena, whatever I saw, or I think I saw, I have this feeling-"

"Bonnie, what?" Elena asks.

"That its just the beginning," Bonnie says.

(To Stefan and Damon)

"They both took my breath away. However, Elena. She's a dead ringer for Kathrine. Is it working, Stefan? Being around her, being in her world? Does it make you feel alive?" Damon asks.

"She's not Kathrine," Stefan says.

"Well, let's not hope not. We both know how that ended. Tell me something, when's the last time you had something stronger than a squirrel?" Damon asks.

"I know what you're doing, Damon. It's not gonna work." Stefan says.

"Yeah? Come on. Don't you crave a little?" Damon asks.

"Stop it," Stefan says.

"Let's do it. Together. I saw a couple of girls out there. Or just, let's just cut to the chase, let's just head straight for both (Y/N) and Elena!" Damon exclaims.

"Stop it!* Stefan shouts.

"Imagine what their blood tastes like!" Damon yells with an angry expression, and Stefan turns away as his face begins to change. I can. Damon says, smiling once again.

"I said stop!" Stefan calls out as he rushes at Damon, and they both fly backwards out the window. However, the only one who ended up on the ground was Stefan. He then gets up and turns to see Damon standing by the hedge.

"I was impressed. I gave it a six. Missing style, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very good with the whole face- thing. It was good." Damon says while imitating Stefan.

"You know, it's all fun and games, Damon, huh? But wherever you go, people die." Stefan says.

"That's a given," Damon says with a nonchalant face.

"Not here. I won't allow it." Stefan says sternly.

"I take that as an invitation," Damon says.

"Damon, please. After all these years, can't we just give it a rest?" Stefan asks.

"I promised you an eternity of misery, so I'm just keeping my word," Damon says.

"Just stay away from Elena and (Y/N)," Stefan says sternly, and Damon puts on a concerned expression.

"Where's your ring? Oh, yeah, sun's coming up in a couple of hours, and poof, ashes to ashes." Damon says as he begins to chuckle. "Relax. It's right here." Damon says as he walks over and holds his hand out to Stefan to reveal Stefan's ring. Stefan exhales and then carefully takes his ring out of Damon's hand and puts it back on. Suddenly, Damon's face changes, and he grabs Stefan by the neck and chucks him across the yard. Stefan hits the shed and falls to the ground. "You should know better than to think you're stronger than me. You lost that fight when you stopped feeding on people. I wouldn't try it again." Damon says with an angry expression while looking down at Stefan, who is still lying on the ground. Suddenly, they both hear rustling, and Damon smirks. "I think we woke Zach up. Hmm. Sorry, Zach." Damon says as he walks back to the house while whistling.

(To me, Jeremy and Elena)

Elena and I then walk over to Jeremy, who is drinking a beer. "You okay?" Elena asks while rubbing his back, but he responds while shifting away from her. "(Y/N) called Jenna, she's on her way. Those people in uniforms, last time I checked, they're the police." Elena says, and Jeremy then begins to drink the beer faster and, with a frustrated expression, turns to us and then throws the bottle. "Great, he's beginning to get an attitude again. When he's like this, I'm better off just not talking to him, or he'll get worse." I think to myself. "People are going to stop giving you breaks, Jer. They just don't care anymore. They don't remember that our parents are dead, because they've got their own lives to deal with. The rest of the world has moved on. You should try, too." Elena says.

"I've seen you in the cemetery writing in your diary. Is that- is that supposed to be you moving on?" Jeremy says, and I then look at him with an annoyed look.

"Jerem, you went too far with that one. All three of us are hurting-"

"Mom and Dad wouldn't have wanted this," Elena says, interrupting me, and I then exhale and then put a sincere smile on my face, and grab both of their arms.

"Just because they're gone doesn't mean they're not still here watching over us. They are always going to be a part of us. Moving on is what they would want, so let's try our best." I say, looking over at each one of them.

(to Bonnie and Caroline)

"Are you sober yet?" Bonnie asks, and Caroline inhales.

"No," Caroline says as she exhales.

"Keep drinking. I gotta get you home. I gotta get me home." Bonnie says.

"Why didn't he go for me? You know, how come the guys that I want never want me?" Caroline asks with a desperate expression on her face.

"I'm not touching that," Bonnie answers.

"I'm inappropriate. I always say the wrong thing. And Elena always says the right thing. She doesn't even try! And he just picks her. And she's always the one that everyone picks, for everything, and I try so hard, and I'm never the one." Caroline says.

"It's not a competition, Caroline," Bonnie says.

"Yeah, it is," Caroline says.

(To Vicki and Matt)

Vicki is lying in a hospital bed unconscious, and Matt is sitting in a chair looking at her. Suddenly, Vicki begins to open her eyes. "Vicki, Hey. He, you're gonna be ok." Matt says.

"Matt-"

"Shh. Hey, don't try to talk, okay? You're fine." Matt says.

"Vampire," Vicki says to Matt, and his eyes begin to widen.

(to me)

We finally made it to our house, and I was in the kitchen drinking some water as I was looking over at Jeremy, who was looking at a picture of our parents, when I saw Aunt Jenna come in looking over at him. I then get up and walk over to her and smile. "Good night, Aunt Jenna," I say, and she nods.

"Good night, (Y/N)." Aunt Jenna says with a sad smile, then looks back over at Jeremy. I walk up stairs and then look over to see Elena writing in her diary. I then knock on her door with a smile.

"Good night. Don't stay up too long, Elena." I say with a sincere smile, and she smiles at me.

"I won't. Good night." Elena says, and I then walk out of her room and into mine.

(to Bonnie and Caroline)

They were still at the gill, and Bonnie went to pay for their drinks, leaving Caroline alone at the table. Caroline then looks over to meet eye to eye with Damon, who was sitting a little ways away, smiling at her. Damon then holds his head and smiles brighter, and she then smiles at him.

(To Elena)

She was still writing in her diary as she looked out the window to see Stefan, who was outside. Elena then gets up from her windowsill and she rushes downstairs.

(To me)

I suddenly got a really bad feeling, so I got up from my bed and looked out my window to see Stefan and Elena. Then heard someone rushing down the stairs. "Did he come to see Elena again? Why? Did she forget something again? Or is it deeper than all that? Does he like her?" Thoughts began circling my head when I then raced downstairs and saw Elena open the front door. So I then got into a position where I could hear, but not be spotted.

"I know it's late, but, uh, I needed to know you were ok." I hear Stefan say and put on a confused expression. "s he talking about what happened to Vicki? Or is it something else? I wondered to myself.

"You know, for months, that's all anyone's wondered about me. If I'll be okay." Elena says and I then put on a sad expression.

"What do you tell them?" Stefan asks.

"That I'll be fine." Elena says.

"Do you ever mean it?" Stefan asks.

"Ask me tomorrow. Its warmer in the house. We can talk." I hear Elena say and I then begin to panic. I then scrabble to move to a new position so I'm"seen. "Would you like to come in? Elena asks.

"Yes. "Stefan says and I then see him walk in and I feel a terrible pain come from my head. But since I was in hiding I tried to keep myself from yelling out in pain. "What the hell is this pain? It feels so terrible. What is it about this guy that makes me feel like this?" I ask myself as I keep watching.
