Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: The Wisdom Goddess’s Son

Her peony-red, glamorous lips, neither quite touching nor quite parting, gently pressed to her beloved God-King's ear, her breath fragrant as orchids.

With a voice that could make the God-King's very divinity tremble, she quavered: "Your Majesty… my Majesty—my beloved…"

"My Lord, did you not still owe me a 'surprise'?"

"My Father, what are you waiting for?"

Having studied under Zeus for too long, the wisdom goddess's rank was no longer what it once was; she was all but toying with this amorous God-King in the palm of her hand.

And His Majesty, sunk in this higher-level "great charm," would find it hard to tear free of this sweet lure before tamping down the fire burning hot enough to scorch the heavens in His chest.

He panted, His mind already hazy. "My love—my love… my treasure at the tip of my heart…"

Over the Temple of Wisdom, after a short interval, boundless golden cloud rose once more.

But this time the cloud held no lingering golden rain to bless all beings; rather it rolled with endless brilliant rainbows, surging and shifting among the seas of cloud.

The gorgeous aurora of wisdom—sign of every stratagem and keen inspiration—shone once more upon all Olympus at that moment.

Meanwhile.

The Lady of Night, who had stayed after the feast and yet delayed to leave, stood alone upon the terrace of her temple.

She was still waiting for a reply from a certain God-King—who was busy.

But now, gazing upon the magnificently rolling clouds on the horizon, her hibiscus-fair face, pale as cool jade, nearly grew green from anger.

A dull, repressed boom thundered "BOOM—!!!"

It was not thunder within the golden clouds.

It was the Lady of Night who, in endless resentment, flung a backhanded slap and smashed her own gorgeous Night Temple on Olympus to pieces.

That towering palace imploded in an instant, without a sound, into a mass of pure shadow that swallowed all; a vast spray of cold stardust drifted upon the wind.

She turned on her heel, and with the brood behind her—who had all shuddered at the sudden burst of divine power—shot away in a streak of light back to the Underworld without a backward glance.

Had her children not been at her side, she truly would have wept in rage.

She had waited so long!

She had said everything there was to say, thrown away all face, even revealed the colossal surprise she had prepared for Him!

But that cold, heartless, faithless god did not reply to a single message!

He even slipped away before the feast had ended, without even the time to say a few more words to her!

One thought He was busy with some great matter!

But He only went to seek an Olympus little… goddess!

Zeus was the worst!

I'm done with you!

The Lady of Night clenched her knuckles; fierce shadow surged in her eyes, and she silently made a vow in her heart.

(Note: According to reliable deities, this vow lasted less than three hours.)

But at that moment His Majesty the amorous God-King was once more wholly captured by his beloved Ocean daughter—by supreme wisdom and tenderness.

He knew nothing of great or small affairs in the Three Realms and Three Domains now—He knew only the softness and limpidity in His arms.

Atop Olympus, thunder hid burning love within the light of order, and wisdom steeped flawless gentleness into the heart of divinity.

This was the first divine union in the truest sense between the supreme God-King and his beloved goddess since she had achieved "supreme, complete wisdom."

The wisdom goddess, as in the eternal past, present, and future, offered once more her deepest devotion and unreserved love.

And this time the amorous God-King held the deepest love and remorse.

His supreme will had decided to pour all this long-pent, precious feeling into it, to give his beloved wisdom goddess an exceedingly dear child.

A son.

The God-King's second son.

A son conceived by the supreme God-King and the sovereign wisdom together, destined to bring the universe a brand-new possibility.

A cosmic-level symphony of "reason" and "wisdom," of "order" and "success," began.

Filaments of gilded thunder turned to ribs and frames that bore the cosmos; from the high vault they wove warp and weft and spread upon the plane of concept.

Each arc of light bore an absolute rule that could not be gainsaid, marking the bounds of the universe; each straight line of law, with utter solemnity and power, formed the curtain of order for all things.

And the endless, varicolored light of wisdom became the mortise-and-tenon and carved beams that finely bound the frame, turning halls into miracles.

Untold delicate, precise threads of thought flowed together into rivers of light; like stellar auroras they drifted over the sky and filled every node of the order-network, and with utmost gentleness entered into the golden thunder-clouds.

The universe became a sacred loom.

Order was the tough warp; wisdom was the lively weft.

They gazed upon each other. It was the final confirmation of love and the synchronization of the supreme will.

The God-King cherished wisdom; wisdom gave to the God-King all her clarity and love, holding nothing back.

Thus there arose between heaven and earth the most solemn and sacred, tender omen.

Thunder became tangible "threads of theorem" and, upon the sky's loom, sketched the solid frame of all existence.

Wisdom became flowing "light of planning," and, like the cleverest shuttle, arranged the subtlest sequence for every process and development.

Each "planning-light" that was lit by thunder congealed into a limpid "opportunity" at every crossing of warp and weft.

They were not luck given out of nothing, but fruits borne in the soil of order, watered by wisdom at the instant when "preparation" and "timing" beheld each other.

Each time thunder-light pierced aurora, there fell upon the intersection a shining "method of reason."

They were like nimble keys that could enter locks the world had not yet opened; like fine bridges that drew a firm thread between "the possible" and "the real."

The concept of "enrichment" was given new meaning.

It was no longer mere accumulation of quantity, but the filling up of methods.

The more "methods" a living being could master, the richer its life itself would be.

Thus "adaptability" was born.

Gather strength to augment the self; think by rational method; wait in calm patience.

Know how to lay down and to lift, how to turn and to bend; unmoved before events, unflustered at change; respond with flexibility.

Civilization grew richer thereby.

Upon the shining fate-threads of the Heavenly Order's network there was added a noble, resilient golden shuttle forged jointly by wisdom and thunder.

The loom of fate remained.

But henceforth the newly woven fate-threads could let living beings bless their own destinies with a toughest strength that sprang from their own effort.

The universe rejoiced.

For at that moment, "success" was newly written.

No longer the sweet fruit into which a lucky one stumbled by chance,

but the necessary, majestic harmony composed by early patience, steady augmentation, measured return, stout confidence, quiet reason, and decisive judgment at the critical instant!

Zeus, the Lord of all this, in that perfect union drank to the full the universe's ultimate reason that supreme, complete wisdom represents.

Thus He set in place the last piece upon the road to "omniscience," and became truly the "absolute, all-knowing, most-good God-King," with supreme rational wisdom—reason for His blade, compassion for His sheath.

At that summit of peerless harmony, a brand-new concept, born of the perfect joining of "the strongest power's guidance" and "the keenest wisdom's planning"—a god who embodies "the path to success," and holds the endless dear love of the most high Father—arose at the focus where thunder and light overlapped.

His birth had no concrete form as yet—only a clear click, like a key entering a lock with perfect precision.

That crisp sound echoed in the rhythm of the universe entire.

It was the first time that a "problem" had found its necessary "answer."

He is the sanctified embodiment of the eternal question "how to achieve," the sum of all "enrichment," "method," "opportunity," "adaptability," "success," and "abundance" in the universe.

He is the radiant, fruitful road toward fulfillment that must be born when power and wisdom are perfectly joined.

He symbolizes a complete path of fullness from nothing to something:

Enrichment: the foundation upon which all beings and all matters stand. It is the weight that wisdom amasses in learning, the edge a soul tempers in silence. He teaches beings: first augment yourselves. Persist in steady action; fill your hollow vessel for now to fullness within—then seek the overflowing nectar.

This is "cultivate oneself in stillness."

Method: the bridge wisdom grants to reality; the blueprint reason draws for power. He teaches beings: before a cliff, rather than imagine leaping in one stride, first learn how to build a bridge. With rational thought and enriched self, one can correctly know and act upon reality.

This is "store tools within."

Opportunity: the world's gears turn without rest; change shows itself by the tracks of all things' motions, at every moment. Stand upon grounds that fit the facts; amid flickering, varicolored lights feel the true wind. He teaches beings: the wind is always there—but it comes only to those who raise a sail.

This is "move when the time comes."

Adaptability: the grace of a river bending round a stubborn stone; the toughness of green bamboo bowing in the wind; wisdom before change. He teaches beings: when the storm comes, the strongest oak may break, but the most supple reed will yet stand again. When the unexpected happens or chance arrives, respond swiftly, seek fitting means, weigh the hour, and discern the course.

This is "adapt to circumstances."

Success: the sower's faith in the soil; the tiller's answer to his sweat; the necessity that follows long accumulation. It is no endpoint; it is knowing reality because of enrichment, and because of that knowledge, responding rightly; and when opportunity comes, catching it firmly with a nimble hand. It is the golden harvest that must arrive in the appointed season after hard cultivation.

He teaches beings: there are no miracles at one leap—only the necessity of long accumulation. With the edge honed in body and soul, strike the sacred node with precise alignment in that one-in-a-million instant.

This is "let accumulation burst forth."

Abundance: the well dug deep enough and tended with care, at last overflowing with sweet water. It is unceasing augmentation, a humility that is neither self-satisfied nor arrogant; it is the final fruit of fulfillment.

He teaches beings: true abundance never stands still, but flows on without end. By enriching oneself, finding the right methods, waiting upon myriad opportunities, and with comprehensive adaptability, keep augmenting, keep succeeding, and at last achieve fullness both of spirit and of matter.

This is "prosperity and well-being, a heart filled."

This is—Boros!

Fount of Enrichment, Lord of Method, Friend to Success, Prince of Abundance!

He governs the gaps where "opportunities" appear and presides over the wisdom by which "adaptability" turns about.

He is the great god who teaches all beings in the universe how to walk the path toward fulfillment.

Under the God-King's supreme will, with order and wisdom as root, nourished by the God-King's strength, courage, toughness, confidence, calm, self-discipline, tenacity, and power to act, He was borne in peace within the sovereign wisdom's womb.

This child, likewise, was not born directly.

For the God-King would thereby tell all beings: great success needs gestation; true abundance needs enrichment!

Only after the full sacred cycle of a "holy twelve-month" would He be born into the world.

Then the destinies of all beings would enter a brand-new epoch because of His advent.

The birth of Boros means that the universe thenceforth owns not only a grand goal (Zeus's order) and an exquisite blueprint (Metis's wisdom),

but also the precious bridge and boat that link the goal and the blueprint.

He is the first key that opens all possibilities, the core dynamic that drives the world from "ought" to "is."

Within His sacred domain, idle fantasy will be gently dissuaded, and reality patiently honed.

He does not boast of airy luck—He only lets every soul that is "prepared" clearly see that "moment that should arrive."

Then, with the strength it has stored, grasp that success that is "deserved" by "preparation."

Living beings will truly understand what road of radiant fulfillment leads to real success and abundance.

The all-knowing, all-powerful God-King walks upon His destined path to fulfillment.

So too will all beings of the universe.

After granting the world "creation," the God-King, merciful and generous, taught all beings how to gain "success" and "abundance."

All beings shall follow the God-King's steps—step by careful step—yet steady onward.

Praise Zeus—for embracing wisdom with power, giving authority the light of reason!

Praise Metis—for supporting power with wisdom, bringing reason to its fulfillment!

And praise Boros—the road that, by enrichment gains method, by method waits upon opportunity, by opportunity adapts to succeed, and by adaptability goes on to abundance!

Thus beings know that by enriching themselves, they shall at last enrich themselves in full.

Thus the individual grows strong.

And thus civilization flourishes.

May thunder stay bright, may the light of wisdom ever shine, may accumulation never cease.

May every "how to" have a path to follow.

May every "good time" be seen, be grasped, be fulfilled.

May every "enrichment and accumulation" at last reach the promised land named "abundance."
